I was happy to get two sets from Mish that have been on my wish list forever!

How is increasing from 2" to 3 1/4" "over double the original size"? Am I missing something here?

Thank you for taking the time to share your disappointment in how we do our math here at Papertrey. Maybe we aren't the right company for you. If you would like a snarky non-answer please feel free to open a zendesk ticket which we will quickly mark as resolved.

Thank you for the laugh!!!! Are you sure you don't write for PTI? hahaha

Anonymous said...

Boring, boring, boring on NH's blog. Nothing there is creative or new.

Anonymous said...

I placed a small order with Wplus9 yesterday for a couple of dies. They offer an option for First Class postage rather than Priority Mail, so my shipping cost was only $2.12, and my package shipped in less than 24 hours. Nice.

Anonymous said...

Maybe this is a catch up month. LOL!

Anonymous said...

the death of the forum was a huge mistake by PTI, but one that can be fixed. by providing horrible CS, they opened the door for major complaints. Karen burst the dike.

then it was out of control. PTI again lost the chance to prove it could change. and the smackers and just plain unsatisfied customers took over.

It frosted PTI more than anything that folks without a personal issue would chime in with support for those with real issues.

Thus the new forum. The completely embarrassing mess. I have no interest in chatting with someone who is being paid to make a certain number of posts on her assigned day. DT, have you no pride? What do you get, $10 a day for posting a few inane questions. Embarrassing.

Rick, please go back to Julie and Nichole and explain that if the forum continues to wither, their sales will continue to do so as well. stampers look for a home on the net and many found it at the forum. now they are here instead!

better to let folks air the issues and THEN FIX THEM before it gets out of control. by burying them in zendesk only, you are sending the message that you don't stand behind your products.

yes, let's acknowledge that there are a few folks who relentlessly post negative things about PTI over at SCS and the forum. deal with THEM only, and not the rest of us who would like to buy some of your products again.

Anonymous said...

I agree with everything that you have said.

I would like to add that Julie has no place in customer service. She just doesn't have the people skills and her reputation colors everything that she says.

Anonymous said...

Loving the spider web die from PTI as seen on Maile Belles

Anonymous said...

Not that it matters but is Maile's post early or late?

Anonymous said...

I would like to thank Wplus9 as well. I only wanted the Pretty Patches Pumpkin and Die ($10) and one of my shipping options was $2.12! So happy!

WHY IS THIS SO HARD!!!???

Anonymous said...

It is so hard because Papertrey would have to re-do their whole computer system and we know how well that works.

Anonymous said...

I'll admit, the spider dies are cute. But how often would one use it?? Not practical.

The ghost/monster set is better. Again, not so practical unless you love sending monster cards.

Anonymous said...

I have a little bit of general Halloween stuff, ,but it is not something I do more than 5 cards of a year so wouldn't buy it. Everything is so uncreative there lately.

Anonymous said...

I don't like anything this month but last month I liked the camera and the rose set. Add that to the hexagon stamps and coverplate and I had enough to want to order. I didn't, but I wanted to.

Anonymous said...

I have so many sets that I just loved but I haven't even used yet (vintage picnic, door to door, the garden set). I have learned that if I am patient, the feeling will pass. LOL!

Anonymous said...

The feeling passes easier and easier each month as their offerings get less and less attractive and creative. I just do not need more sunflowers or a vase, or Flower Fusion look alikes, or word dies when I have letter dies. None of it even vaguely appeals and I used to order every single month for about 3 years and stalked the postman because I was so excited.

Anonymous said...

ITA with 11:22 and 11:26.

Such easy fixes...but the first needs to be hire someone in CS that can actually give customers some service, not an attitude.

I have a feeling that Julie is too controlling and greedy to give up that role. And if that's the case things will never, ever change.

Anonymous said...

Every single decision that Papertrey makes has to be dictated by the bottom line. If they start handing out refunds for every item that has been used, they will suffer financially because they can't get that money back unless they prove to the manufacturer that it is defective.

Also, they may not be in a position to hire and train someone for customer service. It could cost more money than they can put into it right now.

The sad part is, they won't (can't?) spend a penny to save a dollar. They are so busy looking at all of the little expenditures that they don't realize how much money die-hard loyal customers used to spend. USED to. They may get new customers but the happy loyal ones were money in the bank.

Anonymous said...

Well, by the actions of PTI and the attitude of CS, it seems to me that they DON'T want to grow their business and they are fine just where they are financially.

A few years ago if you had told me that they were going to grow as big as SU one day I would have believed it and looked forward to it! They were the Lamborghini of stamping. Now, I feel like they are the Vespa on the highway. Everyone is surpassing them. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Anonymous said...

Not that I'm defending Nichole's post about the size of the stamp being "more than doubled". It is a more than 100% size increase, but not doubled in size. Again, get a proofreader, Nichole. And someone tell ACN she forgot to trim her sewing ends.

Anonymous said...

^^^14:02 again. Obviously I'm not a math major, so disregard my feeble attempts. I am soooo not right. Gaahhhh.
But ACN still needs to trim her ends :)

Anonymous said...

Liking the new Ikat stamp set at Avery Elle. Haven't seen anything like it.

Anonymous said...

ACN shouldn't post cards with coloured images. I admit I'm not the greatest with markers but her colouring is pretty bad. She can't even stay in the lines. WTH?!?

Anonymous said...

The Counting my Blessings set (the one with all the word/phrase combinations) is reminding me of the berry set fiasco. Who wants to be there will be one or more words missing from the actual stamp set and Nichole will have to back peddle once again?

Anonymous said...

Why is that? Is it because there are so many words?

Anonymous said...

14:08, thank you for mentioning the Avery Elle release. I completely forgot about it. I love, love, love the icat stamp set. Will totally order that on the 14th, along with the hello name stamp.

Anonymous said...

My MFT order took only 43 hours to arrive!

Anonymous said...

Uhh... ACN has several degrees? Where?! How? Her grammar is atrocious!
She ruined that second card with the white paint around the edges. It was actually very pretty before the paint. I guess she was going for the NH look but failed miserably.
I love the flowers from that old autumn set, but if I wanted larger images, I would just stamp it, scan it and re-print it larger.
I can see PTI's future new releases for several years, another edition or two of Think Big favorites, larger versions of some of the more popular stamps, and more of the same along the lines of Floral Fusion. Oh, I'm sorry, it's not Floral Fusion it's the new amazing, unique and versatile Heart-2-Heart series!

Anonymous said...

Love the ikat stamp set, too. I didn't order the hello name stamp last release but I've seen some really cute cards made with it so it may make it to this order.

My MFT order from release day arrived today, too.

Anonymous said...

I can see throwing in a larger or smaller version of a stamp set every now and then. I actually like the tremendous treats series better than the tiny treat series. But this release, less than half (6) of the sets are actually new. The rest are larger versions or "series" sets that look all the same.

Anonymous said...

MFT orders reportedly coming in all over the place. Release was just Wednesday. They obviously upped their shipping options!

PTI gets no money from me, again this month.

Everything that PTI says they cannot do for one reason or another, other companies are doing all over the place!!!

Anonymous said...

I saw that Avery Elle set....what the hell is Ikat?

Anonymous said...

ACN's coloring is atrocious!

The herringbone pattern impression plate looks awfully like my $4 cuttlebug herringbone folder.

Anonymous said...

Only 13 Autumn Abundance stamp sets left...

Anonymous said...

^^^^
That's just plain dumb. Why dO they NEVER have enough of the older sets when rhy release matching dies for them?? That's should be a no brainier-it's so dumb its kinda making me mad!!!

Anonymous said...

Remember in the 'old' days when PTI had a new release - there would be pages of posters oooing and ahhing over all the pretty images etc.
No comparison to how bare the forum is now (apart from the DT's and their inane questions etc.)

Anonymous said...

What is IKAT - copied this from one of the Avery Elle DT.
......................................

Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye

Anonymous said...

Wow, thank you to the posters that mentioned the Avery Elle. I've never heard of them before! I will be buying that Ikat set and probably a few of their older sets. Has anyone stamped with their stamps yet? Also, has anyone tried the Avery Elle cardstock?

Just placed a Wplus9 order too! Loving not giving my money to PTI!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I purchased a variety pack of Avery Elle cardstock about a month ago and I am really impressed. It is a heavy weight cardstock in beautiful colors... especially the green. Comparable to PTI. And the stamps are nice, too.

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure Avery Elle's card stock is Poptone. It's very nice.

InkStink said...

Who's getting my money this month? So far, MFT and WPlus9. But I see an Avery Elle order in my future.

PTI's releases this months are a big meh for me.

I wonder when they'll start supersizing the "tremendous" and "mega" sets. "Think Bigger", anyone?

Anonymous said...

It's 7:15am and sausage fingers doesn't have today's post up! Why can't she ever be on time????

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why PTI over- packages their stamp sets, but cannot even put a simple label on their dies?

Kelly said...

Avery Elle announced free cut files to match all their stamp sets!

Anonymous said...

4:19, you must be excited to see the new post just like everyone lol!

Anonymous said...

Inkstink, PTI gets my money almost every month.
My Wplus9 and MFT carts never check out.
The MFT dies catch my interest, never the stamps. Their stamp designs don't appeal to me at all (which is good for my wallet of course)
Avery Elle gets a "hmm, maybe next time" from me though.

Anonymous said...

PTI always gets my money. every.month.

Anonymous said...

06:14, but yet you're here. Hmmm...what was the definition of hyprocrite again?

Anonymous said...

Looks like our garrulous friend Leigh has discovered Avery Elle too. Tsk tsk Leigh! You can't get on the PTI DT if you're 'liking' other stamp companies that rival PTI!

Anonymous said...

Is Alli Miles still on the PTI team? It's pretty weird Heather is on vacation for a PTI release (if this is her job) Not trying to stir anything..my mind's going in circles waiting for NH's post.

Anonymous said...

6:17 don't be a hater. hahaha

Beating a Dead Horse said...

Not sure I will be ordering anywhere this month. Have been super busy with birthdays and weddings.

One thing I can say with pride.......I will be celebrating my one year anniversary with PTI, next month. One year of not ordering!!

Anonymous said...

NH's blog is up. If it wasn't for all the fancy backgrounds she made (most are really nice) these cards would be really really boring.

Anonymous said...

OMG - where did Leigh mention Avery Elle. I am shocked!

Anonymous said...

Love Jess Witty's cards today. Dawn had some good ideas but ruined them with blinding colors.
Nichole's were OK. Have to say I like the food set, but I am not much of a cook. Son's girlfriend is a chef so that would work, but I am not going to get the set just for that. Nothing else even vaguely appeals. I did like the white behind the Thanks on Nicholes, but how did she make the colored letters so perfect?

I want to see what colors the pattern paper packs are this month.

Anonymous said...

Dawn's card with the black herringbone hurts the eyes. That is a very busy pattern in a dark color.

Anonymous said...

Did Melissa chew through the cardstock to put in the yellow ribbon or what?

Anonymous said...

"Thanks" set needs one for hairdresser, babysitter, boss, and a few others.

Anonymous said...

Oops, they are there. Didn't scroll far enough.

Anonymous said...

That is so smart of Nichole to incorporate older sets into her release cards. Brilliant marketing I'd say.

Not enough to make me order but she is a great designer.

Anonymous said...

6:49 Leigh left several comments on today's Avery Elle blog post.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Leigh is just covering her bases, sucking up to multiple companies in the hopes that one of them will offer her a DT position.

Anonymous said...

I completely disagree about the reliance on older sets. ESPECIALLY on the first showing of the new sets. No, I'm not stupid, I completely understand it as a marketing ploy to try to sell the older sets, too. But to showcase the new designs, if I were revealing samples of them for the first time, I would use as little from older releases as possible. Sure, later in the week, show how well they work together (if they do) but I see it as a sign of weakness.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know who avery elle is owed by?

Anonymous said...

Different opinions are what makes the world go 'round. I don't see it as weakness to use older sets. I see it as a great way to sell some of the older product. I also think that the same is true of introducing dies for the older sets. I didn't want Vintage Picnic until the dies came out.

Anonymous said...

Thanks all ways looks OK. I make quite a few thank you cards, so that is why it attracts me.

The herringbone background moves when I look at it. There is an older one, Dot Spot, that does the same thing. Stamps shouldn't make me dizzy.

The chocolate items in the food set are OK, I don't think I'd use any of the rest.

The blessings dies and stamps are OK too.

I've purchased some MFT dies and like them. The stamps are OK, not as many there catch my eye as PTI still does sometimes.

Anonymous said...

I have the herringbone background stamp from Impression Obsession, it's a much smaller pattern and doesn't make you dizzy. Love it!

Anonymous said...

From JJ Bolton's Blog "I was so surprised when Jamie Gracz (the owner and stamp designer of Avery Elle) asked me to join her team!"

Anonymous said...

Anyone know what new colors or what colors of patterned papers will be this month? Were there any clues in the peeks?

Anonymous said...

I bet somebody on the PTI forum knows.

Anonymous said...

Leigh is up early and starting new threads!

Anonymous said...

Maybe she's been hired by PTI as an undercover cheerleader.

Anonymous said...

Four of the nine latest answers (in all of the forums) have been posted by Leigh.

Kathy said...

Another new stamp company has appeared
http://www.neatandtangled.com/

I don't really like any of the first sets, but I am hopeful for their future ones...

More competition for PTI ,the better.

Anonymous said...

Neat and Tangled look like stamps for little kids. Poorly drawn and uneven.

Anonymous said...

My biggest issue with the Neat & Tangled stamp sets is how much empty space is left on each sheet. She is charging $15/$8 per stamp set, but the Fresh Blooms & Hey Cookie set have a ton of available space to add more stamp sets. When I spend $15 on a stamp set, I want it to be packed with stamps. I just don't see that with this company. And, I think the images are juvenile (and not in a cute, Paper Smooches kind of way).

Anonymous said...

Too many pti cheerleaders here now.

Anonymous said...

Ditto on Neat & Tangled. No comparison to PTI's style. I'm sure that simple doodle style appeals to a lot of people, but not me. I wish them great success.

Kathy said...

Just spreading along the info...not really my style either.

I haven't ordered from PTI since Sept.,as well. No real plan to in the future...

Anonymous said...

Hey, did I miss something? where did the ink comparison page go?? I can't seem to see it anymore

Anonymous said...

That's what I like about that new Avery Elle set. I like how there is a stamp in that frame...no wasted space on the stamp set

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who thinks there is only one person posting about Avery Elle over and over again?

Anonymous said...

I can't seem to get on the Ink Comparison page either. When I click the button at the top of this blog, it says that page is not available.

Anonymous said...

i posted a while back that i don't post on the forum because i don't want to be discussed/mocked here. oh, everyone complained -- that never happens.

See what happens to Leigh. All she does is post about stamping and you are monitoring her every move.

Obsessed with nonsense. You are pathetic. yeah, smack away. don't give a shit.

Anonymous said...

13:10, I agree with you about why some people have quit posting. I was never big into the forum but if I was afraid of being mocked, that would probably stop me from posting.

And NO, I'm not the same person.

Anonymous said...

Not so impresed with avery elle. I usually love JJ's cards but finding the avery elle posts kind of lacklustre.

Anonymous said...

Well if you are an annoying PTI ass-kisser-nitwit that has to put her two cents into every thread, as well as start your own inane threads every chance you get, then you too will get mocked.
We don't smack everyone, just the ones that deserve it!

Anonymous said...

who sends a thank you note to their doctor?

Anonymous said...

I agree, 14:35. I love my doctor, and have been a patient for many years. But unless he sees me around town, unrelated to an appointment, and saves my life on the spot, I don't see that I'd ever send him a thank you card.

Anonymous said...

I have sent thank you's to doctors, surgeons, dentists, eye drs., hospitals, for going above and beyond.

Anonymous said...

13:10 Pathetic is right. And they say they only smack PTI. Stop the personal attacks on Leigh.

Anonymous said...

I get the same "Not Available" message when I click on the link for the ink comparison. I'm really hoping it turns up soon. I'm heading out to Seattle this week, and I'm planning to visit one of the Impress stores and buy some Fresh ink.

Anonymous said...

If anyone has had trouble logging in at Avery Elle, they set up a guest account today that works fine.

Anonymous said...

17:48, just so you know, the Tukwilla store has a LOT more in stock than the other stores.

Anonymous said...

Yawn of a release so far.

I like the casserole image but that's about it.

I don't see the appeal of having all those jobs spelled out (boss, secretary, assistant, coach, etc), or occasions (breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning, afternoon, evening, etc)... aren't details like that what the INSIDE of the card is for? Done by hand?

Anonymous said...

Yeah - time to leave Leigh alone - from her posts I gather she doesn't have any stamping friends in her area and this is her place to chat to like-minded folks.

Anonymous said...

For the poster visiting the Impress Store, hope this table helps; Bit untidy but best I could do with copy and paste.

‘IMPRESS’ INKS PTI INK Comments
Pool Aqua Mist Close, little greener
Island Aqua Mist Close, little bluer
Pool Hawaiian Shore Good Match
Merlot Autumn Rose Almost exact
Capri Blueberry Close
Sky Spring Rain Little brighter
Harvest Harvest Gold Close
Chamomile Lemon Tart Close
Red Current Poppy Red RC a bit darker
Fuschia Raspberry Fizz Almost perfect match
Silver Lilac Lavender Moon Close
Mango Summer Sun Bit more orange
Pear Spring Moss Close
Tuscan Olive Ripe Avocado Nice match
Melon Melon Berry Close
Steel Ocean Tides Work together, but not a close match
Gypsy Enchanted Evening Good together, but not a close match

Anonymous said...

Thanks for those ink matches. Not the person who asked, but I love those inks. The ones I have are just so rich and gorgeous. Will get the complete set over time. The A Muse ones are nice fillers for the colors Impress Fresh Ink is missing.

Anonymous said...

Notice Autumn Abundance sets going up for sale in various places. Kind of smart to sell them when the demand is higher right now.

Anonymous said...

Even Nichole knows how shitty PTI inks are. Anyone else notice how she frequently uses Palette inks to stamp black and grey sentiments?

Nichole, is your work too good for your own crap ink?

Anonymous said...

This answer by Nichole pisses me off.

Q:"Will it be possible at some point to buy index labels for anniversary sets? I don't think they are available now? I am redoing my stamp storage and I need a couple."

A (NH):"I am afraid that after an anniversary set is "retired" we no longer stock the labels. You might be able to ask around in the For Sale or Trade sub-forum to see if someone didn't use theirs and would be willing to sell it to you. Hope that helps."

http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=37625

Why the hell would it not be possible? She must still have the files on her computer, just get it printed and support her own switch to a new storage system?

Anonymous said...

Oh and I did not post that on PTIs forum. I'm just a lurker :-)

InkStink said...

Need some help, smackers. What can I use to thread buttons that doesn't give the hairy look that button twine does? I'm looking for plain white, kraft and ivory. Tried perle cotton but it's kind of limp and droopy. Tried floss with the same result.

What say the smackers?

Anonymous said...

love most of the release -- the food set, the hilly mountain thing. know the answer to the twine thing, but do not give advice on smack boards.

HTH!!

Anonymous said...

everything in the release; a 30% discount on the rest and $10 for every blog post and $20 for every publication; $25 for the day of posting on the forum.

Anonymous said...

IF that is true, a blog post is sure a lot of work for $10. I guess if they can turn around and sell the card or have it published then they would make another $20 plus whatever the magazine pays but $10 alone is hardly incentive.

Anonymous said...

So basically, the Background Basic Herringbone stamp is just a background stamp. Basically.

Anonymous said...

I don't like the way that chocolate bar looks.

Unknown said...

InkStink, try hemp.

Anonymous said...

Autumn Hills. Love.It.

Anonymous said...

CTMH has something called waxy flax that has the stiffness of twine but not all the loose fibers.

Anonymous said...

2:53 I would imagine everything Nichole says pisses you off.

Anonymous said...

I did not see anything wrong with Nichole's answer.

Anonymous said...

^^ I don't either. Smackers just like to pick on her.

Anonymous said...

5:12 I say you figure it out yourself.

Anonymous said...

$30 for the total pumpkin dies? You must be kidding! Something you use for only one holiday a year and not a major holiday at that?

The autumn scene stamp is cute, but again too limited.

I have all the pattern packs but neither of these colors would be useful to me.

Therefore, another month with no order and my money is going to Taylored Expressions this month.

Anonymous said...

Apparently the forum regulars hate the forum as much as the smackers. Instead of spreading the PTI love on the forum, they're here being snarky. Very interesting reading....

With almost a full day to go!!

Anonymous said...

Can you be more specific 08:23 I don't see anything snarky going on in the forum at all. Rainbow farts and paisley poops as usual.

Anonymous said...

"pumkin" all over the place on the thread is driving me nuts.

Kathy said...

I buy waxed thread from JoAnns. It comes in white and black for only a few bucks each. It is in the craft/jewelry section. It is easier to use for my hands. If I need a different color, I just drag it over an ink pad.

Anonymous said...

Dental floss works too and is easily colored with Copics.

Lola G. said...

18:15 Thanks so much for letting me know that the Tukwila store would be the better choice. I'm looking forward to spending some time there!

21:35 I really appreciate the list of inks. I'm also buying for a friend, so I thank you on her behalf as well!

Anonymous said...

9:35 if it is driving you nuts why do you go there?

Anonymous said...

8:23 Just returning the love.

Anonymous said...

Lola, consider the reinkers at the same time. You will use those pads so much you will need reinkers. Plan an hour or two there. It is a stamper's wonderland!

Anonymous said...

The Tukwilla store is about 8-12 times bigger than the other ones.

InkStink said...

7:57, if I could have, I would have. But thanks for the love.

To the rest of you (Trell and others) who offered suggestions, I will check out Joann's and if I can't find the waxy thread there I will order from CTMH. Appreciate your help.

Get the Linen Thread from The Cat's Pajamas.... it's fabulous! http://thecatspajamasrs.com/Embellies.htm

P.S. I think they're having a sale right now, too!

Anonymous said...

14:08 Walmart has waxed thread in their jewelry making supplies. I've used it on buttons.

Anonymous said...

There are some good products on release - the word dies, herringbone IP, pumpkin dies. But the majority is blah. Too bad they feel the need to put out so much stuff, it just clutters up everything and most of it will be forgotten right after the release.

Why not take the opportunity to revisit the Autumn abundance set with the dies released? Why bother doing the big stamp image?

Anonymous said...

I don't like the style of the chocolate bar either. And the gelato cup.

Anonymous said...

I'm not a fan of those images either. And I HATE the name of the set. I wish they'd realize that they're selling to grownups and not small children.

Anonymous said...

I'm so confused by the chocolate bar stamp set. that whole set seems like it could be cute. I love my colorful Fiestaware, vintage Pyrex and Le Creuset. But this set just seems weird to me.

Anonymous said...

I bet it could have been an awesome set if Mish came up with the concept and Nichole designed it. That's just my 2 cents. The food set as it is seems off.

Anonymous said...

I agree about the name. Sounds like a Sesame St. episode.

Anonymous said...

From One Foodie to Another...wtf.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the choices of images and their stylings are weird!

I would have liked a set of utensils only - pots and stiring spoons or mixer.

Anonymous said...

A little disappointed with the Avery Elle DT. The card for blossoms & blooms looks almost the same from Chunyuan and JJ. I was definitely expecting some more from JJ.

Anonymous said...

Ha - JJ has set the bar so high with her designs hasn't she. Love her stuff.

Anonymous said...

Avery Elle's stamps are ugly. Awful design team.

Anonymous said...

05:10, you're entitled to your opinion, but what an overstatement.

AveryElle is a new stamp company going through their growing pains. While I like a few stamps (e.g. hello badge, ikat), the others aren't exactly my cup of tea. I'm willing to sit back and wait before I pass final judgment.

And, with respect to your criticism of the design team, I think they are all very talented ladies doing the best with what they have. I'd like to see your stuff. Oh, that's right, you post anonymously.

Anonymous said...

^^ I see how it is. You can criticize the PTI team but when I voice my opinion about AE it's not ok. I looked at all their pics. I was not impressed at all.

Anonymous said...

Kind of odd that Christina is promoting My Timeless Templates. I wonder if she is doing that all on her own or if Nichole asked her to? Does Nichole still have to give money to Lauren Meader? My Timeless Templates- the red headed step child of Papertrey.

Anonymous said...

It seems that some of the dt are using dies as impression plates. I wonder if that is to show the versatility of the $20 die set?

Anonymous said...

5:55, you must be stupid if you think only one person -- other than you-- posts here. I wrote the comment at 5:16 and I have never criticized the PTI DT. I come to this smack blog to criticize PTI's customer service.

Just go home, already. The PTI forum misses you.

Anonymous said...

And 5:55, please share/post some of your own designs. I can't wait to see how unimpressive you are.

Anonymous said...

Nichole's inspiration "photo credit" to Pinterest drives me up the wall. Pinterest is not the source. She needs to credit the actual source. If she can't find the source, she shouldn't use it. I know we have discussed before but today simply sent me over the edge.

Anonymous said...

Nichole has a degree in design so she has to know that Pinterest is not the source. She is just lazy.

Anonymous said...

I don't see anything wrong with 5:55's post. Especially when her handslapper defends AE because of "growing pains." If they suck they suck. I don't spend my company at a company out of sympathy.

It's a smack blog suckers, and I'm pretty sure you are posting anonymously too 5:16.

Anonymous said...

Plenty of Nichole's things are on Pinterest. So can I put them on my blog and credit pinterest?

Anonymous said...

8:07, let's try and see how quickly she gets upset by us crediting Pinterest.

Anonymous said...

Talking about not crediting, what would you do if you found a card of yours (so the blog poster made it but it was a colour for colour exact copy of yours) and they made it sound like it was theirs? No credit at all. I was kinda shocked, found it by accident. Should I leave her a comment with a link?

Yes. Her ridiculous inspiration photos are bad enough - but to not link the actual source?? She needs to be called on it. Does she have an email??

And it doesn't always work in her favor to show those either - scrolling through fairly quickly, the Halloween one with the cool batty-shaped label really caught my eye. Although I don't want to be tempted by PTI, if I did I would've been sorely disappointed when I slowed down and realized it was just "inspiration" and not a product. If she's so all-fired creative, she shouldn't need those uncredited photos anyway.

I love the pumpkin (not pumkin) die this month. I have been searching about an hour... Anyone see anything similar for the Cameo?

Anonymous said...

I've already left a comment about crediting Pinterest as the source of her inspiration photos. Obviously she does not read her comments. As far as emails, HA! Good luck with that. NO one on PTI team apparently answers their emails.
To date, I've emailed Melissa Phillips twice, Erin Lincoln, and a few others on the DT with various questions about their projects and not ONE of them ever answered!
WHY do they have 'email me' links on their blogs if they don't answer?! Pisses me off big time. They must be too good for us or something.

Anonymous said...

but those inspiration photos show you how 'ON TREND' the new products are ... !!

and if you credited the orignal source maybe people would get distracted browsing the orignal site, and THAT wouldn't do

Does anyone else find the $30 pumpkin set to be outrageously priced?

Anonymous said...

^^^Yes. I was almost tempted - until the price tag.

Anonymous said...

cut by hand, but cute http://thoughtsoftraveling.blogspot.ca/2011/10/its-crop-weekend.html

I was not really interested in this release. Then the DT did some things that made me look again. But I am not going to get caught in the release day hype. I am going to think about it for awhile.

Anonymous said...

05:10 LOL, I'm sorry, your post is so funny. I bet your breakfast this morning was crappy and so was the drive to work.

Maybe go back to bed and try the other side?

You can dislike AE and their DT, but I think you overstated.

Anonymous said...

I want the sunburst AE set and the new camera set when released.

Anonymous said...

9:46, you just saved me $30. I'll cut them by hand. I really like the pumpkin die and sections but the $30 price tag made me choke.

Anonymous said...

What am I missing? Thought the Pumpkin Die was $16? I wouldn't pay a penny more . . .

Anonymous said...

Nope, $30 if you want the whole thing. They broke it up into 2 sets. Of course they did. They were hoping people could not add 16 and 14.

Anonymous said...

^^^The pumpkin is 16 for the basic shape and the face. If you want to paper piece the segments pay that again.

Preggo #2 said...

its $16 for the pumpking outline, face and stem. it's an additional $14 for the pumpkin slices.

just noticed i typed pumpking. well, that's better than pumkin. but only slightly. lol!

10:23, glad to help. I was choking with ya!

It doesn't help that shipping will take two weeks and the Operation Write Home deadline for Halloween is AUGUST 31. Oops! No Halloween for me!

Anonymous said...

I just remembered that I have the A Pocketful and Valentine Pocketful from Wplus9 and they have a Halloween version. It's adorable. Just ordered it, paid $1.95 shipping and will probably have it in 3 days! Ta da!

^^^wishing you mucho mojo when they come, you're doing it for a good cause!

10:58. Is that you Rick? ( I can't see Trell taking this way). I knew it! It is that bad working for PTI!

I would never talk that way...

That might help explain the name and some of the sentiments.

I guess then I am a Craftie and a Stampie and a Teachie. Ick, I hate baby talk.

Bwahahah.

Julies bitchiness flares again.

Back to the Lace Impressions Die that isn't really a die.

From Julie's zendesk response that was posted by the customer: "When Nichole designed it, she never in her right mind believed anyone would want to spend the approximately 20-25 minutes it takes to push out all of the little pieces. Nonetheless, she realized that the die would cut through with several (sometimes more) passes through the die cut machine, so she did call it a die."

Hey Julie? If Nichole never expected anyone to punch out all the little pieces, then why did she make a point of showcasing that in her introduction post? Here:http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/01/introducing-lace-bouquet-think-big-12-handmade-hodgepodge.html Specifically this picture: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef0168e54991b3970c-pi

If this is Julie unintentionally being a bitch, then I'd hate to see the results when she does it on purpose. Frankly, when someone shows me who they are repeatedly, I believe them. From everything I've seen Julie is quite a bitch.

I do feel for the customer though.

13:05, I came to post the same thing.
I love the passive aggression in the reply - "When Nichole designed it, she never in her right mind believed anyone would want to spend the approximately 20-25 minutes it takes to push out all of the little pieces."

So not only is the customer out of luck, but according to Julie she's probably out of her mind too.

Ah, I figure I'd better post all of Julie's response in case that thread mysteriously "disappears"

"Hi there,

I am very sorry that you misunderstood the use of the Lace Impressions Die. It does eventually cut, as I have tested many of them for the ability to cut out all of the pieces. I also have an old Cuttlebug and it works as long as it is shimmed properly. The original intent of the die was not to cut, hence the name, Lace Impressions Die. When Nichole designed it, she never in her right mind believed anyone would want to spend the approximately 20-25 minutes it takes to push out all of the little pieces. Nonetheless, she realized that the die would cut through with several (sometimes more) passes through the die cut machine, so she did call it a die. I have found the metal shim to be the best device to use with this die if you want it to cut. With that said, it does take a bit of work to get the right amount of shims so that it cuts. I hope that helps! If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks and have a fantastic day!!"

10:10 No overstatement. The last time I checked I still have the freedom to state my opinion. If you don't like it, too bad. Remember, this is a smack board. I call it like I see it.

Anonymous said...

Right 13:11? I just love that.

Well, if you're stupid enough to try to use the product the way we marketed it, that's certainly not our fault.

Anonymous said...

13:16 again. So given Julie's response, is PTI saying we should never expect PTI's products to live up to the marketing? I mean, we know that that is in fact what happens with PTI products often. But to have a company representative implying that they either have shit product or misleading marketing? Wow...

If I remember correctly, it was first introduced as a die and carries the name "die" leading people to believe it might be a die."

LOLOLOLOL!

13:12 ... go smell a rose

Anonymous said...

Oh geez. This whole Lace Impressions Die debacle is unbelievable....or maybe not, considering it's PTI.

Anonymous said...

"I hope that helps" is so redundant from those women. Why dont they count how many times they have to say that in regards to something they DO have control over.

Anonymous said...

Rick, I actually feel a little sorry for you. Just when you think you are getting ahead by trying to help customers, Julie comes in and throws it back 10 feet.

I, in my right mind, would not work for this type of person!

Anonymous said...

The "hope that helps" is so f*cking condescending its not even remotely funny any more

Anonymous said...

Dang, I thought it was a die. I thought I was in my right mind, Julie, but you know everything.

Anonymous said...

Julie really is a big cunt! Responses like this are why I hope PTI goes down in flames!

Anonymous said...

Does Julie just not know how she comes across or does she not care?

Anonymous said...

Rick, if you care at all you will tell Julie to turn customer service over to somebody else. Maybe you can take over ALL of it.

Anonymous said...

I see nothiing wrong with Nichole's "HTH" response. Neither do I find it condescending.

Anonymous said...

14:42 - it is condescending when you basically say the customer is an idiot and then say hope that helps. Sorry you misunderstood that the die isn't a die. You'd have to be crazy to think that! HTH!

Anonymous said...

so why has Julie ran it through multiple times to verify it eventually cuts? Is she saying that multiple CS returns have come in? Cause I'm pretty sure that would be the only reason.... lord help us if she does their market research or quality control...

Anonymous said...

The Lace Impression Die is intricate and may require multiple attempts to get it to cut cleanly. However, with the correct shim it will cut correctly.

If you are not satisfied with the product, for any reason, we would be happy to accept a return in accordance with our return policy. If you believe it is defective, then we will reimburse you the cost of the item and your return postage.

Thanks for your business and we are sorry that this particular item doesn't meet your expectations.

Anonymous said...

14:42, the reason Nichole's HTH response isn't helpful is because she sent the customer over to Julie.

It's like telling someone in a dark room where to find the light switch - which you know isn't working.
