Where did all the forum go?

Papertrey ink forum down for only some people? I haven't checked it personally.. Loved that waltzingmouse made a clear announcement, thumbs up for their customer service. Not sure why it is so hard to be honest instead of just pushing blame to customers...

Happy Sunday yall!

First?

Anyone have any experience with Hero Arts Neon inks?

Anonymous said...

if that had been PTI, they would have sent the in-stock items, then charged you for shipping since you no longer met the free-shipping criteria.

-------------

This is spot on and EXACTLY what PTI would have done!

Claire cares more about her customers than building a mansion or her ego.

Anonymous said...

With all this talk of a new site going live in Sept, I suggest anyone who has points left take a screen shot. I won't be surprised if points go missing.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Claire has true integrity.

Sometimes I actually feel sorry for PTI and its DT as they really don't understand how little respect they have anymore. Sorry to say that about the DT, but that is how I feel.

but then I wake up and realize that they are laughing at us.

Anonymous said...

They do feel very superior to us.

Anonymous said...

But Karma is on their tails.

Anonymous said...

I don't give a rat's ass about my points when the new website comes in. I have not ordered for a very long time. So those points can go poof for all I care.

Anonymous said...

I'll take your points. ;-)

Anonymous said...

The link to the blog about doing something for Claire was nice...

BUT

The best thing ANYONE who really appreciates WMS can do for Claire is to

NOT USE THE DISCOUNT CODE!!!

Just because she offers it, it doesn't mean you have to use it. If we truly want to support her, don't use the discount code when you order!

Anonymous said...

08:22, I totally agree about not using the code and giving Claire 100% of what she's earned.

I also think it would be nice to show her some personal support - make her a card/support a hop. She's proven over and over that she isn't just about the money but about her customers, so I think she might appreciate it?

Anonymous said...

Yes!!! I agree. Don't use the discount code!! We need to start a movement on this idea.

Anonymous said...

And as of this morning, Claire raises the bar even higher!!!

Yes! (I'm the 'don't use the code' poster) Do both! Don't use the code and send her a card!

I don't think AMuse has discount codes. But they do have monthly specials like certain stamp sets or ribbons on sale. It changes every month. It's called the A/S Spotlight.

25 August 2012 22:41

^^^thanks!

Anonymous said...

^^^ Amuse also has high shipping. It's stopped me from shopping with them.

Anonymous said...

When A Muse has their inks on sale, it is worth it, but not at regular prices with the shipping.

Anonymous said...

Also, be aware that the A Must reinkers are really tiny compared to Fresh Ink, which are 2 or 3 times the size at least, if not more.

Anonymous said...

Yes, only started using A Muse last spring and already on my second bottle of reinker for several.

Anonymous said...

I have both Fresh and Amuse reinkers. Just checked the sizes. Fresh is 20 ml, or 2/3 oz. Amuse is 1/3 oz.

2 months ago, while in another state, I bought an expensive pair of white pants. They were wrapped in tissue and I just put them that way in the drawer until yesterday when I got them out to wear. On the front was a black mark, small, but quite visible. I contacted the store, which btw was a small local store in a small town, and they said they would not only refund my full purchase price, but that I did not have to send them back. They suggested I take them to a cleaners and see if it could be fixed and then I could still have them.

1-They did not accuse me of damaging them.
2-They did not accuse me of lying.
3-They did not make me incur cost to get it fixed.
4-They profusely apologized for MY inconvenience.
5-They did not go on and on about their loss of profits.
6-I got an email this morning for 50% off any one item when I return for a visit again.

Will I shop there again? 100% yes! I will also let my friends and family who live in that town know the story and encourage them to shop there. Additionally, I will write a letter to the editor of their small paper praising them.

Anonymous said...

Better hurry up and wear those white pants. November is coming and they will be useless then.

Anonymous said...

I would go ahead and where those white jeans whenever you want! New fashion trends definitely do not dictate when we can and cannot where white. I am sure my lost in the stone ages mom would disagree with me, but then she still thinks it is horrid when woman do not wear panty hose with skirts and dresses! GASP!

Anonymous said...

Cabo in November is great for white pants.

Have you ever heard of offering a discount to customers based on how many reviews they leave on the store website regarding the aforesaid products???? Seems like Lauren Meader is struggling for customers. Too bad.

Anonymous said...

Lauren Meader did amazing things with and for PTI, she was never the same on her own. They both lost out when she left.

Anonymous said...

Buying reviews looks simply BAD.

Anonymous said...

....and did you see how many reviews you have to write in order to get a discount? Yikes.

Anonymous said...

Nothing Lauren Meader (LLC, TM, copyright, etc.) has offered has EVER interested me.

The only people I can see enjoying those shittastic and juvenile templates are *maybe* (and that's reaching) kindergarten and preschool teachers.

The crap she's put out is just ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

A couple of Lauren Meadors' "My Timeless Templates" were my first PTI purchases. I enjoyed using them and still do for gift packaging. I liked them quite a lot. Once she left PTI, I stopped following her and haven't seen anything in years. Offering a discount in exchange for reviews is a very poor business decision. Can't be sure they are all honest reviews. Bad move. Really bad move.

Anonymous said...

I bought one when she was with PTI. Used it a little bit, and you guessed right--I am a teacher and used it with the kids.

Anonymous said...

Such a shame, because Lauren is who got me excited about stamping again! I haven't visited her blog in well over two years.

Anonymous said...

Why would Lauren do such a thing? It is one of the most damaging tactics she could take.

Anonymous said...

Guess I'm the only one who doesn't see anything wrong with it
It takes alot of time to write that many reviews and a reward format is nice I guess
I kinda like templates, I have bought a few from PTI but never any from Lauren..

Anonymous said...

Purchased reviews are sham reviews and everyone reading them will know they were bought and not heartfelt.

Anonymous said...

Link to Lauren offering a discount for reviews please?

Anonymous said...

18:59, the problem is that she is basically paying people (with a discount) to write reviews. Users cannot be sure the reviews are honest and completely upfront. It is considered poor form to pay or reward people for writing reviews.

Makes it look like the product itself is too weak to have merits unsolicited.

Anonymous said...

To the person who asked about Hero Arts Neon inks...I have all 3 of the colors, and love them. They are vibrant, don't fade, and give great coverage on clear stamps. Thumbs up from this ink snob!

InkStink said...

Thanks for the review, 22:18. I will try some. Glad to hear they work well with clear stamps.

Anonymous said...

LM has always grated on my nerves. Paid reviews? Terrible business decision. No one will trust her now.

Anonymous said...

She has always gotten on my nerves too, I'd love to smack on her a bit, but I won't. You think some of the PTI crew takes too many pics of their projects? HA! LM must fancy herself a photographer then, you get EVERY frikkin angle of her card!
I guess she's the type of blogger you either love or hate, I'm sure she has her following otherwise she wouldn't have stayed in business as long as she has.
I think soliciting reviews is icky too. I don't believe what actors or paid spoke persons on TV commercials say about the product they're promoting, and LM is asking people to do the same thing.

Anonymous said...

Lauren is a lovely talented woman who has done more with her life than most do who are twice her age.

More jealousy here!

Anonymous said...

You don't have to be "jalous" of someone to not agree with their business tactics.

Anonymous said...

tee hee

Anonymous said...

Quick note on the Hero Arts Neon inks - I have the orange, pink, and yellow and they are definitely bright and have good coverage. One disappointment for me though is that they REALLY stain your clear stamps - like to the point I can't see through them. I cleaned them immediately after I used them too - I decided I probably won't use them with my clear stamps any more. I know it doesn't affect the performance of the stamp but it defeats the purpose of having a clear stamp imo.

Anonymous said...

I agree that you do not have to be jealous (correct adult spelling) to disagree with business tactics.

But of course the conversation veered away from business tactics.

Anonymous said...

"Veered away"- as usual.

Anonymous said...

Absolutely agreed, I don't have to care about LM one way or another to know that soliciting reviews is shoddy. I use a lot of reviews, Amazon, Yelp, TripAdvisor..etc when making plans and if I get even a whiff that the review is planted then that product or place is scratched off my list.

Jealousy has nothing to do with it.

Anonymous said...

So I am now able to access the forum from my work PC, my phone and my home PC.

Anyone else who couldn't get to the forum, able to get there now?

Anonymous said...

So sausage fingers locked the pure poppy thread because people said that SU real red is an exact match.

Well fix your fucking ink so people don't have to go elsewhere!

Anonymous said...

Beautiful job on MIM, today ACN. I am not a uni and have been disappointed in MIM for several months now, but this was a good one IMO.

I can get on the forum now too.

Same ole boring DT post...

Anyone here stamp with Ranger Distress Ink? It's easier for me to get than Amuse or Impress (I'm international). How does it compare with SU?

Really appreciate any insight TIA!

Sibilance7 said...

Hi everyone, I haven't posted or even lurked here in a while because I'm kind of soured to the whole stamping thing, partially because of PTI and partially because of other things that have happened in my life. I'm more into sewing now, so I'm selling off a bunch of PTI sets and other stamping things on Ebay. If anyone is looking to avoid buying things from PTI, you can check out my Ebay auctions to see if you find anything you like. Here's one and you can link to the rest from it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300770254383?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1192.

I'm selling the following PTI sets: Boxes, Bags and Tags, Delightful Dahlia, life, Guide Lines, Dot Spot, BG Basics: Diamonds, Polka Dot Basics, Simple Little Things (anniversary), Birds of a Feather, Damask Designs, Giga Guide Lines, Pond Life, First Fruits, With Sympathy, BG Basics: Retro, and Guide Lines Two.

Sorry if this is uncouth or whatever, but I thought people might be interested and I'd love to be able to sell all of these so I can pay for a new sewing machine.

Anonymous said...

Because distress inks are supposed to be bendable and watercolor able, they are very wet 'juicy' inks
You will definitely have a bit of a challenge stamping large solid images with them as the image will be splotchy and not very solid
However, I stamp sentiments with them a lot and don't have huge issues, just they take a bit longer to dry so try not to touch it right away

Anonymous said...

^^^^ I just use a heat gun to speed it up if needed.

Anonymous said...

10:02 thank you for your help! I know SU are also dye, do they have better coverage?

Ranger are just so easy to come by almost every LSS has some. SU not so much and they are $$$$! Do you get what you pay for?

Anonymous said...

I've heard that Tim Holtz tells people to ink with Versamark first and then with Distress Inks and his inks work a little better that way with clear stamps.

Anonymous said...

12:15 Thanks! I'll give that a try with a pad and see.

If anyone has a review on SU I'd still be grateful to hear it. I'm not familiar with their ink, have been burned 2x with PTI and don't want to make another investment that is money out the window!

Anonymous said...

SU inks are just ok in my opinion...not the greatest with clear stamps in terms of coverage
The bet dye inks for clear stamps is memento..easily accesable and the least splotchiness of all of them

Anonymous said...

13:13 thank you. I did a Google search and found an old 2Peas thread where Teri Anderson said the same thing - MEMENTO!

Of course the next question is - which colours are PTI compatible?

(Do I get a smack for that?)

Anonymous said...

^^^Reason for asking - not to be 'matchy matchy' but because it's a springboard to understand what a colour looks like. (Like what's the difference between Ladybug and Love Letter Red?? is one more like P.Poppy and the other more like B.Sorbet? It would help to know.) I can't afford the whole shebang right now.

Thanks again!

Unknown said...

I personally like the new SU inks.

Anonymous said...

From the Google Doc that was listed on the PTI forum. I only have a couple of these colors and speak to those where I do -

Memento Name - PTI Color

Summer Sky - Blueberry Sky
Dandelion - Harvest Gold
Waterlilly Green - Hawaiian Shores
Lulu Lavender - Lavender Moon
Bamboo Leaves (close) - New Leaf (I have this one and it is a relatively good match for New Leaf. I use this one and Jenni Bowlin's Seed Packet interchangeably)
London Fog - Ocean Tides
Tangelo - Orange Zest
Cottage Ivy - Pinefeather
Rose Bud - Raspberry Fizz (I have this one, too, and find it a good match)
Grape Jelly - Royal Velvet
Pear Tart - Simply Chartreuse
Sprout - Spring Moss
Pear Tart (close) - also listed with Spring Moss
Summer Sky - Spring Rain
Canteloupe - Summer Sunrise
Angel Pink (bit pinker) - Sweet blush

Anonymous said...

Thanks for telling me Trell!

And 14:03 ... did anyone ever tell you that you're a SWEETHEART?!!

Thank you.

I'm going to buy a couple and see how they go.

Anonymous said...

I also like the new SU ink pads. I've experimented with the new pads with SU stamps, PTI and CTMH. All work well with solid and small print sentiment stamps. A soft surface pad under the paper does help with the solid images.

Has anyone tried the new CTMH pigment ink mini cubes?

Anonymous said...

14:09, I've been called many things. Don't recall sweetheart being one of them. ;) Happy to help.

I love my distress inks and my memento... But I was having a bit of a challenge getting them not "splotchy".... Until I started using the distress embossing ink FIRST. I stamp on that, and then e color... And OMG what a difference! Perfect coverage each time. I know I've heard versa mark works too but I like e juiciness of the emboss pad. Plus, I use it once, and if I'm using the same color...like doing multiples... I can re ink it several times before needing to use the emboss again. A HUGE difference trust me... Works well with the PTI inks for same reasons...I won't stamp without it.

I have memento lady bug and love letter, and while nice, neither one is a close match to pure poppy. They are more like cough syrup and chili pepper from jenni bowlin.

Anonymous said...

15:15 do you have a list of Ranger colours that work with PTI colours?

(Feeling liked cooked spaghetti on this end, but I won't be buying any more PTI ink. I'm willing to explore!)

Does Ranger do a Pure Poppy type colour?

Thanks for giving me something else to try!

Anonymous said...

15:15, sorry one more Q, I'm not familiar with Jenni Bowlin - so would either of those Memento colours (Ladybug or Love Letter) be nice as a Christmas red?

The other Memento colours that match look great and I'd like to give them a try.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

^^ if that's true...wait I'm not even surprised I guess
Sounds like one more ridiculous thing they decided to spend time and energy in while the obvious fixes are ignored

Anonymous said...

15:15 here-

Yes, both the jenni bowlin colors would make nice Christmas reds, both deep, one is a bit more burgundy type red. I like them both.

As far as distress ink comparisons, I use peeled paint as my go to green, it's close to spring moss I would say, maybe a bit greener, but a great color. Walnut would be close to dark chocolate. Barn door red is very close to pure poppy...very bright and red. I love all the distress colors I have...I have like 20, I'm not into matchy matchy so I just go with what is close. Broken china is a nice bright blue, but definitely not Hawaiian shores. Orange marmalade is an awesome orangey yellow.

I disagree with some of the memento pti comparisons listed above, like ocean tides and London fog are definitely NOT similar. Either is cantaloupe and summer sunrise. (I have both). Wish there was a way I could post my color charts without outing myself... I have them all stamped on grids so I just look and see what I need :-)

Anonymous said...

15:15 again...

Sorry I realized you were asking about memento... They would be ok, but compared to my jenni bowlin, they seem a bit flat... But if you didn't have them to compare to, not sure you would notice. The new memento colors are a lot richer than the old, and I'm hoping they branch out with more colors... Grey flannel, teal zeal, etc are a richer color, if that makes sense.

Anonymous said...

There's a ton of information and lots of threads about different kinds of ink at Splitcoaststampers.

Anonymous said...

Okay, I'm sure I'll come off as a huge bitch, but I'm tired of all the questions about ink color.

I don't get the need for exact PTI matches, and I also don't get the inability/unwillingness to use Google.

I search for the brand and color of ink I am curious about, and usually will be led to a crafty blog that has used the same ink. It's not that hard to do a little bit of research.

Not to mention the fact that there is a bar AT THE TOP OF THE BLOG that says "Papertrey Ink - Ink Comparisons/Matches/Alternatives."

Also, is it that huge of a loss if you find a red that's not the exact same color as PTI's red?

Geez.

Anonymous said...

I with you on the Google thing 19:18. It drives me up the WALL when people ask a question that can be instantly answered with a simple Google/Bing/Yahoo/etc., etc search.

This is particularly rampant on SCS, someone never fails to ask where they can buy bulk Bazzill cardstock or some other load of shit.

um, here's an idea- type in the words "bulk Bazzill cardstock" into your favorite search engine. See what happens!
If you happen to have Google Chrome, you can highlight something you see on a web page that you don't know what it is, right click and select 'Search Google for ____'
Amazing isn't it?! and EASIER than typing out the question and waiting for someone to answer!

OK, rant over. I've been wanting to get that out for a while, lol!

Anonymous said...

And when you google the "bulk Bazille" you have no idea if the company ships fast, if the goods arrive undamaged, if the prices are the best out there, and so on. There is a good reason to ask others these questions.

For example there may be a match to a color but if you don't know that brand you don't know if it is crappy ink.

Anonymous said...

the new su ink pads are fuckin terrific.

-------------

Okay, genius, did it ever occur to you to use a search engine to answer those questions?

I never buy from a company without searching for reviews on them and their service. Same with a product.

Sweet Jeebus, some of you really need your hands held through everything. How do you manage to run households, work jobs and raise children?

Anonymous said...

And where would we get those answers? Places like this. So why not just ask here and save hours of time researching each thing.

Btw, the SU inks don't hold a candle to A Muse or Fresh Inks.

Anonymous said...

I also wondered why everyone keeps asking for exact color comparisons. Just curious, but why does it matter that a shade of red needs to be the same shade as the paper? Doesn't the quality of the ink and its coverage matter more? Just asking because maybe I am not getting why there are so many questions. Personally, it doesn't matter to me that a project I make doesn't match 100%. For me it's more important that the ink doesn't smudge, doesn't blot, and has a good formula.

When a review is left here about the quality of ink seems more helpful to me than if a color matches a PTI cardstock. Am I missing something? Seems I am also in the minority here.

Anonymous said...

I don't care if people ask. If you don't want to answer, don't. GEEZ.

Anonymous said...

I have been stamping 18 years and I don't get the need to match paper and ink exactly either.

Anonymous said...

19:18 and the others who chimed in - O.K. I'm the ink girl and I need to say something here.

If you go back and read what I originally said, I wasn't looking for an exact match - but rather was using the PTI colours to try and guage what colour inks actually were (they're colours I'm familiar with). I did use Google and it was helpful. Kinda. Some pictures made some colours look neon, some made them look like exactly what I was looking for. My monitor isn't calibrated for professional photography either.

So I wanted to ask real people for real opinions. I have always appreciated people who are willing to share their experiences with me. If I can speak to a human being rather than a computerized answering service I'll do that too.

Different strokes, different folks. Some people here were very helpful.

I sure appreciated them.

One more word. I specifically wanted a vibrant red. I thought Love letter was it - but it turned out not to be - so the person who saved me $5 and some shipping - thanks again.

Anonymous said...

I am all about matchy-matchy with inks, paper and embellishments. An orange-red on a blue-red would look so jarring to my eye that it might send my somewhat OCD self over the edge!!!Not quite Joan Crawford/wire hangers, but you see where I'm going with this. ;)

Here's an example of a typical search for me when I'm looking for something:
Type 'bulk Bazzill' (correct spelling helps, but not necessary' into Google search box, hit 'enter'.
Oooh, lots of results, I start looking through them. Find one with reasonable shipping, good selection, hmm...wonder if they're a good store to shop from...better check.
Type 'ABC Scrap' (for example, not real) reviews into Google search box, hit enter. BINGO! A SCS thread that's already discussed this!

I love the interwebs....

Anonymous said...

17:58 - I am pretty surprised no one picked up your little tidbit and ran with it. Personally, I am appalled! I have a very limited understanding about how these things work, but the implications associated with your statement have me imagining all sorts of senarios - like even before a ticket is researched on zendesk, I can imagine someone looking up the cookie trail to see what the history is.

Do you suppose that sort of thing can be seen by PTI from just registering on the forum?

Anonymous said...

all websites use cookies. having a cookie does not allow a website to see where I have been on the Internet. Google "browser cookie" to read more.

3:14 That has matches for 5 PTI colors listed. And not red which the previous poster was looking for.

You're so helpful...

LOL - ink girl here, some of you need to do some research of your own (like take a look at the ink bar on this blog). Funny thing is that if I brought this topic up on the PTI forum I'd get handslapped, bring it up on the smack blog and ... ??!! But smackers are the open minded ones aren't they?

My panties aren't in a twist. I've placed an ink order ... and I'm still thankful to the people here who helped me, I think my $$$ were intelligently spent :)

From MFT's Facebook page... talk about a class act!

Hi all,

I wanted to send a quick note to let you know our September Release date is September 10th, at 10pm EST. Our manufacturing plant moved across the country, and while initially it was predicted to cause a 2 business day delay, it has now passed the two week mark, and we want to make certain that our manufacturer and our staff has ample time to prepare for the Release and continue offer the service you've come to expect from MFT.

Since this is a new plant, Jody, I, Martin, Frank, Brianna, and Chais have manually checked each and every stamp set (we finished last night at 9pm) tossing any sets that were not up to our standards, ensuring the quality that we've become known for would not be sacrificed.

Our Teasers will begin on Tuesday, September 4th, and we can't wait to show off all that we have in store for you!

Thank you all for understanding, and being so willing to work with us on this. It is truly appreciated!

Hugs,
Kim

Anonymous said...

^^Aaaah. That might explain WMS delays too?

Anonymous said...

Well at least PTI will have a good excuse next month for whatever delays or screw ups they will have. I'm pretty sure they all use the same manufacturer for their clear stamps. I seem to remember someone saying it was Stewart Superior a long time ago, but I'm not 100% sure.

Anonymous said...

^^^I don't think PTI use the same stamp manu as WMS, (don't own any MFT). PTI's stamps are a bit softer and smell different.

WMS, Hero Arts, Flourishes, Clear Art Stamps, W+9,come from the same plant IMO.

PTI remind me of T.Tuesday. Both are softer and both arrive with thin plastic film across the back of their stamps, not acetate.

Personal opinion - I think the WMS, Hero etc group are slightly better quality.

Anonymous said...

It makes me feel like a decent human being to be helpful **shrugs**. As a teacher, it's my nature I guess.

Anonymous said...

FYI: when you have clear stamps manufactured, you have the choice of having them made with the sturdy acetate on both sides (printed or not) or with the thin film on one side (which happens to be a little cheaper). Whether it has the thin film or two layers of acetate is not an indicator of the manufacturer. That's determined by the customer.

Anonymous said...

1546 consider yourself schooled

Anonymous said...

Whether packaging of stamps is different or not, IMO the WMS stamps are much better quality than PTI - they also 'take' ink better.
A couple of my PTI stamps have 'collapsed' for want of a better word - the stamp has squished down and no longer gives a good impression.
And no, I am not a new stamper - have been at this for years and know my stamps.

Anonymous said...

I agree that WMS stamps take ink better and are sturdier.

Anonymous said...

"Collapsed" stamps? Really? I've had PTI sets since they first came out and don't have any that have 'collapsed'. They stamp as well as the first day, if not better, because the surface is 'primed' so to speak.
Maybe you shouldn't store your stamps next to the radiator, lol. Kidding, but it's the only thing I could think of that might cause such a thing.
This is laughable, I know, but I would open a Zendesk ticket with PTI and harass the hell out of them to find out why this might be happening. If only to annoy the heck out of Julie, ha!

Anonymous said...

^^^ you are gonna get smacked for that!! The unis will see that as an act of aggression...lol

Anonymous said...

Sweet N Sassy is another one that the manufacturer screwed and cannot provide their release stamps.

Also, starting tomorrow Gina K is having her labor day sale and it is always really great.

Anonymous said...

Pass on Gina's stamps... They're not my type. Thank you for the head's up though.

Sweet & Sassy sent it out in an email. I can't remember why I'm even signed up for their emails. I don't think I've ever bought anything from there.

Anonymous said...

Here uni uni uni! Come and get it!
;-D

Anonymous said...

Wow, those paper bead dies from SAF were a big hit! Said no one ever.
I haven't seen a single person use them except NH on SAF day.
What an infantile idea...

Anonymous said...

We all know there are only a few mfrs of clear stamps. So basically, all the stamp companies will be effected by this situation. WMS, Sweet & Sassy and MFT are just the few to announce it so far. As various releases are scheduled to happen, more announcements will come.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone ever said exactly what happened at the manufacturer? Did it burn down or something?

Anonymous said...

I think it was Claire who said that the manufacturer moved to a new location.

Anonymous said...

According to MFT: " Our manufacturing plant moved across the country, and while initially it was predicted to cause a 2 business day delay, it has now passed the two week mark"

Sweet & Sassy: "Our clear stamp supplier abruptly moved their operations to another state causing a significant delay in the processing of orders. We were not notified of this move nor of the potential delay in order processing the move would cause."

Sounds like the manufacturer may be using the PTI method of problem management...

Anonymous said...

The Craft's Meow also announced a delay.

Anonymous said...

Sounds to me like these businesses should be planning releases more than one month ahead of time. They should have 1 or even 2 months of future releases in stock at all times.

Anonymous said...

Manufacturer moved from one state to another. Their move affected the other manufacturers as well. Everyone is backed up. The manu that moved just so happens to be the biggest one. They had to hire new people and their machines were not properly set up. Add everything up and that is what you see unfolding. - chaos. But everything will be sorted out. They are not like PTI.

Anonymous said...

^^^I sincerely hope the world at large never chooses to adopt the PTI method of problem management.

Or I will need to get off.

Anonymous said...

I second the info from 11:05 (except I think 'chaos' is an exaggeration). It's a highly reputable company doing their best in difficult circumstances.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know which manufacturer it was that moved?

Anonymous said...

As far as Sweet N Sassy goes, they never have much in stock on releases. Everything always seems to be a pre-order. Having their manufacturer move just means business as usual for them. The whole pre-order BS is why I no longer order from them. That Korin is about as friendly as a pit bull, too. Maybe she is related to Julie or NH?

Anonymous said...

And P.S. I've heard from 3 people who know her that Korin is a total whack job!

Anonymous said...

I can believe it!

Anonymous said...

Korin along with the whole SNSS DT now use the sketch challenge on SCS to pro toe her company. It's disgusting, and I am appalled that SCS allows it.

Anonymous said...

Not pro toe...I meant promote!!! Dang iPad!

Anonymous said...

Wow, I had to go and see today's sketch and you are right. All the samples use Sweet and Sassy stamps. Looks like all the sample girls are on their team.
And to make sure it wasn't just this week, I checked last week and every sample used SNS stamps then.
Really not cool.

Anonymous said...

It is so blatantly obvious, too! SCS has turned into a joke. I miss Jenn Balcer and Daven. At least they were smart enough to ban Faith (Markie's Mom) after her plagiarism scandal. I also noticed they no longer run advertisements for Marks Finest Papers anymore. There is certainly no rhyme or reason to what they allow and don't allow on that site. Rules change depending who you are and who ya know!

Anonymous said...

ITA!! There was a link posted on SCS regarding the cards for Claire thing that disappeared after 10 minutes.

Anonymous said...

That is ridiculous!!! Why wouldn't you want to promote something nice for someone?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know which manufacturer it was that moved?

===================

Anyone? Anyone?

Anonymous said...

I have met Korin on several occasions and she is not a whack job! In fact, she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Anonymous said...

I think most companies would prefer their choice of various manufacturers not be discussed publicly. Proprietary info and just a little rude to spill it, kwim?

Anonymous said...

ITA!! There was a link posted on SCS regarding the cards for Claire thing that disappeared after 10 minutes.

29 August 2012 13:11

^^ I disagree and doubt this. I know lots of the mods there and threads like this don't disappear. Most likely it was moved into a RAK category of some sort.

Anonymous said...

^^^sorry, but that thread definitely disappeared. I know someone who spoke with a mod about it and the mod confirmed it had been deleted, not moved.

Anonymous said...

Damn! Really? Was a reason given?

Anonymous said...

I believe she was told that they don't allow that sort of thing.

Sorry that's all I know.

Anonymous said...

SCS has promoted RAKS for years haven't they?

Anonymous said...

re: 14:48
I'm sure Julie from PTI puts on a nice, friendly face when in direct contact with her customers, as soon as she gets back behind her desk, watch out!

Speaking of which, anyone ever meet any of the 3 Stooges at CHA in the past?

Anonymous said...

14:48, sorry but that's not what I hear. If I hadn't heard this from 3 totally unrelated people I trust, I may have believed you, but...

Anonymous said...

All the Heskamps are very quiet at CHA and such
They seemed pretty shy, even at SAF

Anonymous said...

13:11 What was posted on SCS about the cards for Claire? I never saw it.

Anonymous said...

15:39 sure they do. I've seen other requests for cards and those threads weren't deleted. I used to like SCS but not anymore.

Anonymous said...

12:06 In my life I have learned that you don't always believe what other people say. I only believe what I hear with my own ears or see with my own eyes.

Anonymous said...

^^^I don't remember it word for word.

I think it was very short, saying if you were a WMS follower maybe you'd like to make Claire a card and gave a link to where to link it up.

Anonymous said...

19:03 for 18:59.

Anonymous said...

No - 19:03 was for 18:22 :)

Anonymous said...

SCS has been a jerk board for years and years. I have not been there for about 8 years, and yes, I am an avid stamper.

Anonymous said...

A stupid stamp: MFT has one that says "Words mean things". That is all the stamp says.

Anonymous said...

19:26 that's interesting. The deconstructionist/postmodern movement has taught that words are meaningless and that teaching has infiltrated university halls.

So I guess MFT is getting philosophical?

Maybe it's a reaction against the 'sticks and stones' kind of thing. Words do hurt and it does matter if you say I love you????

Just guessing.

Anonymous said...

I got some of the DVD cases. Hate them.

Anonymous said...

20.;03
Which DVD cases did you get?

Anonymous said...

@20:30 what are the cases like? I don't have any.

Anonymous said...

I met them at CHA. I would never have guessed they owned the company. it was the two of them manning the registers while nichole and co stood in line and got fawned over for hours.

Anonymous said...

Sounds to me like 2 Stooges are jealous of Stooge 3, and taking it out on the customers.

Anonymous said...

i love the DVD cases! I like how sturdy they are and how roomy they are

Anonymous said...

I don't think jealousy is part of it. that's how they set up the business.

Anonymous said...

Wow, never thought I'd see someone describe the new DVD cases as "roomy." The stamps still touch and stick to each other when the case is closed. I guess it is "roomy" when compared to the CD case.

But so is a closet when compared to a shoebox. Still wouldn't want to live in either . . .

Anonymous said...

4:35, I agree. It's like how NFL fans fawn over the players and the head coach, but not anyone else (e.g., assistant coaches, medical staff, etc.).

Anonymous said...

loving the new stamps sold by simon says designed by kristina werner. anyone know the quality??

Anonymous said...

19:26 for Pete's sake... "words mean things" is part of a BOOKMARK stamp set! What's wrong with that??? Did someone put vinegar in your coffee this morning???

InkStink said...

Hope the quality of Simon Says is good because I just placed a large order this morning of stamps and dies. The dies are by Memory Box so all good there.

Betsy got me with her post. Dang her - she's so talented!

Anonymous said...

I'm the person who said the DVD cases were roomy. For the newer stamp sets by PTI they have for the most part spaced out the stamps so they don't touch. But the older ones yes I have some that touch but I like the sturdiness of the case.

Anonymous said...

Gina's Sale is great. Gonna get some of that strawberry paper and the little penguin and stock up on pure luxury white layering and try a few of the new colors. The pastels look really light and that is what I have been looking for.

Anonymous said...

Wow. I can't believe how little I missed by not being able to access the forum for 2 weeks. It's pretty quiet over there!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

pti forum died a quick death when they brought in the paid DT. I have no interest in that place anymore and miss it.

Hey, PTI, what are you afraid of?

Anonymous said...

07:30 I won a set of Simon Says stamps a few years ago and the quality was excellent. (The images weren't anything I'd ever have used) But the quality of the stamps was top notch.

Now I'm curious to go see what they've brought out. If Betsy's involved I may be in trouble.

Anonymous said...

The PTI forum died when all of the customer service threads got locked and deleted. IMO people stopped posting anything at all because of censorship.

Anonymous said...

I also have a set of SSS clear stamps - they are good quality too.

Also decided to check out the PTI forum - haven't been there for ages. How dull - did notice tho that someone else is starting up another felt share - interesting.

Wonder if she knows that another poster has been doing this for ages.

Anonymous said...

Really like GinaKs winter PP packs. But I'm a total whore for patterned paper. I know that sounds harsh, but true. I love paper. I would sell my body for pretty paper. The little duo sets are cute. The tree one is pretty. But they're rubber. If they were clear, I would be all over them. I just can't do rubber any more.

Anonymous said...

08:28 ITA. You can't have a real conversation if there are a million things, all related to your experience and the hobby, that you aren't allowed to talk about.

PTI sunshine will only get you so far. Period. And those locked and deleted threads are a sinister reminder to everyone about how tenuous and unreal everything is.

Anonymous said...

I find the PTI attitude at the moment almost eerie. Chicken Little arrives every now and again and says that PTI will cease to exist after October and we laugh.

But the slow death they seem to be going through, the lack of motivation to make any changes, the continuation of everything that chases people away leaves me feeling like they don't mind if it all goes *poof* and it almost does seem to be winding down.

And if it does, then the smack blog was to blame?

Anonymous said...

11:50, I don't think they are going anywhere but the questions you raise give me enough reason to use up my remaining points this next release.

I'd hate to see them disappear (and be worthless), just like the $2,000 in employee stock bonuses I received in 2007. After the housing bubble burst, the stock was only worth $12 today. Ah, regrets. . .

Anonymous said...

I love rubber AND clear. Clear is great for placement, but rubber holds the ink so much better. Gina K ROCKS!

Anonymous said...

I have absolutely nothing to say on the forum. The locked threads and quota posts by the dt just leave me with a bad feeling.

Anonymous said...

The only hope PTI has is re-vamping their website. That was supposed to take place in August. Now it's September.

Anonymous said...

I am curious about something: Why can other companies produce a decent ink but PTI cannot? There's no snark in that question. I am truly curious. Is it the chemicals that make up their colors that is the problem? Is it the manufacturer? Is it the choice between dye and pigment? And why do they choose dye over pigment? It seems pigment gives better coverage with clear stamps.

New post on the general stamping forum at Two Peas.

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&forum_id=22&thread_id=3189737

Anonymous said...

12:33 - Actually, their second try at inks was a pigment ink. However, people complained that it did not dry quickly enough for them. Plus, at least one of the inks was problematic. I think it was Hawaiian Shores. The color of the ink was not even close to the color of the paper. People were encouraged to use a spoon and smoosh the spoon into the pad to mix up the color.

Anonymous said...

It was at least two of the colors of pigment ink that had problems. Hawaiian Shores & Simply Chartreuse. They both looked OK on the pad, but when stamped, the HS stamped blue on the paper & left the green pigment on the stamp (or was it the other way 'round?) & the SC was the same with green/grey.

I won't reply to the post on 2Peas since I don't post there, but did you see the last response to that post? "Smart companies provide a landline contact."

Bwahahahahahaha....

Smart companies...

Anonymous said...

Looks like 2Peas has their own version of Ted and he needs to STFU. Talked to PTI on a landline? He's obviously talking out his ass and is only in the thread to read his own words. Moron.

Anonymous said...

While I agree, he sounds like a moron, he was not saying HE talked to them on a landline. He said that smart companies will provide their customers with a land line. Obviously, PTI does not fall into that category.

Anonymous said...

you complain when the DT don't talk to you and then you complain when they do?

Anonymous said...

Speaking of Ted....is he still on the forum much? I popped in briefly the other day and saw no posts from him and he was usually all over the forum like a rash!

Anonymous said...

Don't visit the forum enough to know but school has started so he may be back into that routine. Or he's spending time on the forum he set up. Or he's actually stamping instead of talking about stamping. Or a million other things.

Anonymous said...

I haven't been on the forums at all so can't answer whether Ted is still posting there. However, he did pop up on the Silhouette Plus forum.
