New Space + Possible Ink Reference Total Resource 411? :o

Sorry for my absence. I have been quite ill, but now I'm back and let the party continue!

Re. Pages for ink references I will happy to put up a page right on this blog for product comparisons but many of these ink comparisons are all done by different customers and posted in various places. If any smackers want to help this ink comparison page along, please comment in this post with links to blogs that compare the shades or full spreadsheets, copy/pastes of someone's forum. I'll do my best to put all comparisons in a list along with user comments such as 'goes with certain color but not a match'.

How's that sound to y'all getting together and creating our own resource ink page? C'mon smackers don't have to be smacking 24/7. If everyone provided their snippets of info we can surely get that page up.

Oh and hahaha, thank you for making my day:

I use the same sandwich for every Papertrey IP that I own and it always works well. There is something wrong with the sunrise EP.

Anonymous said...

Of course they aren't going to admit that they have a defective product. It will spread all over the internet and everyone will be demanding a refund.

Anonymous said...

It will spread all over the internet regardless. That's what irritates me, they DON"T CARE. They know they have enough new, clueless customers to pick up the slack. I wish I had a large blog following, I'd express my irritation.

Anonymous said...

JULIE should NOT be in customer service.

RICK, could you at least proofread all of her responses before they go out? I am pretty sure that you would not leave me with the unpleasant feeling that I was being blamed for a defective product. Since both of you answered my ticket, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Anonymous said...

Placed an order on Saturday. No update, not even a fake shipping notice. Looks like it's going to be a while before they even start packing. And this during the "slow" time of the month.

Anonymous said...

PTI's response to the Sunrise impression plate issues is sad. But not a surprise. The are going to continue to blame the customer so long as there are other customers who are able to use Sunrise without any issues.

Occasionaly 'newbies' have a hard time figuring out what sandwich to use, we've all heard people asking.

The problem is, PTI does not even provide instructions with the IP. You have to go searching in Nichole's blog or the forums for the information. Then there's always Nichole's caveat that each machine is calibrated differently, so you'll have to play to see what sandwich works for you. Now the caveat needs to be followed with "and if you damage your IP in the process of determining what works, we're not responsible."

Anonymous said...

Apparently, images showing through both sides of the plate is par for the course at PTI. Here is the response to my Zendesk request:

"The image that you have shared with me is not what other people have experienced. The bit that is showing through on one side of your plate is normal and will absolutely not affect your embossing results . . . My suggestion would be to run the plate through your machine until you get an image that you like . . ."

The bit that is showing through on one side of your plate is normal and will absolutely not affect your embossing results . . . Bullshit. I can see the reverse image ON MY CARDSTOCK. Stupid!

Anonymous said...

and I repeat, you keep buying so shut up.

Anonymous said...

The funny thing is that I have 3 machines and ONLY the PTI products have issues. All of my other brands are not affected by "calibration" issues. Why is it only PTI that has this problem? It is their lying that bothers me more than anything.

Anonymous said...

Well you are kind of right. I haven't purchased since last August.
I don't keep buying.

I had some points to use up and I finally found something that I wanted to buy.

As requested by an anonymous message board poster though, I will shut up now.

Anonymous said...

10:41, your reasoning is flawed. By your logic, no one (even non-smackers) can complain about defective product? The complaints are equally about PTI's shitty attitude, as they are about defective PRODUCT.

Anonymous said...

I ordered. I had a problem. It is my fault for being so stupid.
I am still pissed.
I can say that all I want.No shutting up here.

Anonymous said...

Just ignore the shit stirrers. They post because they get responses.

Chapter I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost... I am hopeless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter II

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in this same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in... it's a habit... but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V

I walk down another street.

- Portia Nelson

PTI is a hole.

Anonymous said...

Can't blame a hole for being a hole

Anonymous said...

Here's my story.
I walk down the street.
I see a hole.
I don't fall in but those around me do.
I try to help as many people as I can.
Chapter 2
I walk down the street.
I see the hole.
It is even bigger now.
So many people are falling in and I try to help them.
Most of them get out and they never fall in that hole again.
Chapter 3
There are new people falling in the hole every day.
Chapter 4
The hole is really big now. I fall in.
I know that it's my fault but I am still mad and upset and now more than ever I vow to get that damn hole fixed.

i wonder how the manufacturers of these poorly calibrated die cutting machines feel about having PTI blame them for PTI's lack of quality?

Kind of like Rick blaming all the web browsers for PTI's cart dumping issues.

At least they are consistent.

Anonymous said...

Know what's at the bottom of that hole?

AssFault. Lol.

I posted a comment about finding Authentique paper pads at Hobby Lobby and immediately got a board warning from Nichole saying, "This is a warning regarding the following post made by you: viewtopic.php?f=7&p=412237#p412237 . According to our TOS, Item #3. Out of respect for the Papertrey Team and their financial support of this forum, posts are no longer allowed to contain promotions of competing products from other companies. This includes inks, cardstock, envelopes, ribbon, twine, stamps, dies, felt or any other products that Papertrey Ink carries within the store." OK, didn't see they changed that policy (guess they don't want discussions about the crappy ink). However, there is a thread talking about MS Punches. Guess it's ok if you're crap talking somebody elses product!

Anonymous said...

They aren't blaming the IP manufacturer because there is no problem.

So FUCK ALL Y'ALL.

"news flash....you can get rid of the olympics but death and incurable disease will still be here. "

So, would you like us to get rid of the Olympics, and quit our stamping hobby & ...wait to die? You're fun.

Anonymous said...

If the money spent on the olympics were put into medical research, there would be FAR fewer incurable diseases. But, such are our screwed up priorities.

OMG--Fresh Ink from Impress on Gina K Luxury white cardstock is so rich it looks like it was printed with the best laser printer we have at work!

Anonymous said...

09:24 you are always such an angry bird.

Anonymous said...

So will the sunrise impression plate be as bad as the ink fiasco or is it really just a few complainers?

Anonymous said...

Damn those complainers who don't want shoddy prodcut.

ITA. A cure for bitterness is desperately needed. Perhaps a volunteer from the audience for testing purposes. Hmmm? OP, maybe?

Is it bitter to watch a 46 year old loved one die from a curable disease but not have the money to buy that cure? If so, yes, I am deeply bitter watching years of painful suffering.

Someone brought up the Studio Calico card kits earler...I have been tempted by that, too. I was reading on their forum the other day, leading up to the announcement of the new card kits, and everyone was hoping and begging for the stamps in the kit to be designed by Dawn. What do you think? She can't design stamps for another company, can she? I guess it would depend on her contract, but I can't imagine she would do that. That would really piss off Nichole, and that is her bff, so I don't see it happening.

Anonymous said...

And 12:26, I am sorry about your dh. I would be quite bitter myself. I agree with you about the olympics and the country. Actually, I was the one who started on the Olympics, then told someone to *fuck off*, but I am very sorry that you and your hubby have to go through this.

, **To the person who got a board warning**,

Will you please reply to your warning PM and ask if Nichole got a board warning for this post:

I believe we get ours from the same manufacturer as Tape Online, so they would be nearly identical as far as I know. If you didn't want to wait until our re-order arrives, you could definitely place an order with them instead. They can be found here on their website...

Anonymous said...

13:10, if you read the SC forum, Dawn posted a reply where she explained she is contractually tied to PTI and, therefore, cannot design stamps for SC. But I think she expressed that it would be fun to do so.

That's OK, Dawn. There are plenty of other designers that are more than capable.

Anonymous said...

^^ Plus, don't you know Dawn's set will only work with PTI's Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores ink?

Is this normal?

I placed an SAF order on 7/21 and a label was printed on 7/24 with a tracking number but it looks like the package hasn't moved. I ask because my orders usually come USPS and this is UPS. Thanks in advance.

Anonymous said...

13:35 I'm more interested in why that thread hasn't been moved over to the 'questions' part of the forum. I guess it depends on what you're asking huh?

Anonymous said...

Nichole posted this:

***Shipping Turnaround Time Notice***
Because of the popularity of this type of promotion, we anticipate shipping times similar to those experienced during a new release. This means it can take 3-7 business days for your order to leave our facility if you place an order on Stamp-a-faire Day.

So technically, the order must leave today to be within the guidelines.

Anonymous said...

13:42, questions only get moved from "stamping talk" when they ask about the website or the ink.

What gets me is that it's the DT who are helping to cover up. You can't only blame the 3 stooges here, people.

Anonymous said...

PTI doesn't have to follow their own guidelines when:

-mailing packages

-posting about other companies (tape on line)

-honesty

-coverups

Anonymous said...

What is the dt covering up? I doubt that they know anything.

Anonymous said...

@13:16 thanks for the info about Dawn and SC. I do not visit their forum regularly. I was reading about the card kits, as I said. I must have stopped reading right before Dawn posted that!

Anonymous said...

I am so mad at myself - but more so at PTI.

3 years ago I purchased enough to qualify for the free anniversary set that year. I never received it and just assumed that I must have been wrong - maybe I missed the stamp set count by 1 or something and didn't deserve the set. I always meant to double check but didn't, assuming a business like PTI would know for sure and therefore if I didn't receive it, I didn't in fact deserve it.

Then last year I bought an Impression Plate - I think it was the sunshine one - it went with the hot air balloons set. The first or second time I used it, it came out of my Big Shot all warped and no longer usable - and I figured that I must have done something wrong, because how was it possible for a good quality IP to warp unless *I* managed to F it up somehow?

I just felt dumb and chalked it up to my error.

And to top it all off - my inks smell like mould! I bought the original inks 5 years ago and they stink - but I never bothered to check into it to replace them, figuring it was just a consequence of age.

Thank goodness I found this blog, because now I know it wasn't me, it was PTI and it's subpar products. UGH!!!! Never again.

Anonymous said...

13:14, I would so love to respond to Nichole and I thought of a couple of different responses ;o) but she disabled response so I couldn't reply to her. Of course.

Anonymous said...

If I were not banned, I would post this on the forum:

Which impression plates will be ruined by tighter calibration? I own 5 and only the sunburst has been ruined by my machine? Do I need to buy a new machine or do I assume PTI plates may not work in a standard machine that takes other brands of plates?

Anonymous said...

I love how a thread was opened discussing "beginner mistakes" with the OP telling the story of how she ruined an IP by using the wrong sandwich. Coincidence that this topic was opened now? I think not. A, not very well, camouflaged defense of PTI implying that those with defective plates probably ruined them themselves.

Anonymous said...

Amazon has the Big Shot 40% and free Super Saver Shipping. $59.88
Link was huge so I bit.ly'ed it. Since PTI is an ass and won't let links on their forum I guess the sheeple will have to do without.

the way the "beginner mistakes" poster is at it on the forum I swear she's gunning for a DT spot.

^^ I agree. It's either that or she doesn't have a life.

Anonymous said...

What do you mean she is at it on the forum. I don't see it.

Anonymous said...

To the person who got the response from Julie about the sunshine IP;

OMG! The response shouldn't surprise me, but it does. Common sense would dictate that in this case, there is something wrong with the IP. But, as they say, common sense is not that common.

What a debacle!

Anonymous said...

Yes you do...or go do some finger exercises to get that scrolling finger in shape!

Anonymous said...

Thank goodness there are people letting others know that the impression plate problems are not always user error.

Just how many people has Julie blamed for the problem? Having the design show through the other side is normal Julie? Really?

Anonymous said...

If it is normal for one side to show through the other side, then my other 5 IPs are defective because they don't do that.

Actually the Wplus9 would work great with the MFT set! Love the possibilities. And--2 trustworthy companies to boot!

However, the perfect choice for you, under this circumstance would be to go for payday loans no faxing. This is the thing of past now when people are enforced to use the traditional, bulky, huge fax machine to send and receive their fax messages. You can even maintain a fax archive.
