If I had missed the freebie SAF set by ordering on the wrong day I would have just reordered the same items on Saturday and returned the first order for a refund. Perfectly within the rules, though knowing PTI the return would have probably been a whole new rodeo to deal with.

Anonymous said...

Some chick is all over Twitter and the PTI FB page "screaming" (all caps, that's annoying as hell) that if she cannot talk to someone from PTI on the phone she will not order from them. I guess she won't order, huh?

I am sure that PTI completely understands and the twitter-er should perhaps realize they may not be the right company for her.

Gotta love it:

Nichole or DT - please help - CS issue
by doctorfoodie » Thu Jul 26, 2012 2:23 pm

I know this isn't supposed to be addressed here, but I'm hoping Nichole or one of the DT can help me, as I have not had a satisfactory result from zendesk customer service and don't know where else to turn.

Briefly, I sent back two ink pads and reinkers (Spring moss and Raspberry fizz). To quote her 'I have tested the ink you returned and agree that the Spring Moss didn't hold its color but the Raspberry Fizz that you returned has held its color perfectly. I can offer you a refund for the Spring Moss but will be returning the Raspberry Fizz as it is the right color.' I reopened the ticket, asked not to return the Raspberry fizz, as it does fade quite a bit and the tone is more in the Hibiscus burst family than Raspberry fizz. She waited a few weeks to see if it would fade more, but in her opinion 'The color still matches the Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I will send it back to you tomorrow.'

I am obviously quite upset about this. I have several other new Papertrey ink pads, and these all work well, but I do not think my new Raspberry fizz is a 'perfect match' or satisfactory for that matter.

Please help!!Anna

Why is it "Two Peas in a BUCKET"? Any story behind that name?

Anonymous said...

About 3/4 of the way down they explain the name: https://www.twopeasinabucket.com/aboutus.asp

HTH!

Anonymous said...

11:04. Good for you. @@

Anonymous said...

What does that mean the ink didn't hold it's color?

Anonymous said...

It means they have more shitty ink!

Anonymous said...

14:39, thanks for the link to the name explanation for Two Peas, but it really doesn't clear it up for me, LOL. I was wondering why it was "in a bucket," because I've always heard the expression "like two peas in a pod," but she says it as if bucket is the common expression. Maybe it's a regional thing.

Anonymous said...

It means the ink fades a while after you stamp it.

Anonymous said...

Just give her the damn money back for the returned inks. It probably costs more for PTI to return the inks to the customer than to just apologize and keep the ink.

Why does PTI have to be right all the time? Damn.

Anonymous said...

Get Julie out of customer service!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Julie figures if we give the customer the run around, delay replies or even accuse them of lying that the customer will just give up. Problem solved!

Anonymous said...

14:53.. I think it is a play on 'two peas in a pod'. Maybe one of them said the phrase incorrectly and instead of 'pod', they said 'bucket'.
Some inside joke from the owners' high school days.

Anonymous said...

Ink thread is locked after 1 response from another customer (text below).
~~~~~~~~~
Interesting. From the PTI store website, under exchanges:
Exchanges
If you ordered an item in error or prefer a different product than the one you have received, we ask that you place a separate order for the items that you do want and return the unwanted merchandise for credit. Please contact Customer Service at support@papertreyink.zendesk.com if you have any questions.
Why would you get it back? Are ink pads not eligible for return or exchange?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ditto on why do they always have to be "right" above.

Anonymous said...

The old saying is "they rattled around like 2 peas in a bucket"

Anonymous said...

If a customer returns something because they are unhappy you REPLACE it, no questions asked.

Anonymous said...

I think the new inks are a time bomb. They lock any thread that deals with it immediately. NO discussion. Period.

Why don't they fix the problem instead of just trying to shut people up? I'm not a natural 'smacker' but it's issues like this that have sent me to this blog.

If the new ink is of poor quality I guess it's around to stay this time. If you can't gain an avenue to address the problem, I guess PTI can pretend that there isn't a problem.

Anonymous said...

Interestingly, why is the "disappointed" impression plate thread not locked. Just the one on ink.

Why can the inks not be discussed?

Hiding something??

Anonymous said...

If only they fixed CS issues as quickly as they locked a thread.

re: Clear and Simple stamps
How does anyone shop from a place that calls their metal dies 'DIE CUTS'.
They are not die cuts...yet.
When you cut out your paper using your DIE, then you have a DIE CUT.
The metal die itself is NOT a die cut.
Imbeciles....so friggin annoying!

Anonymous said...

Some of my inks have changed color...some drastically (sweet blush, soft stone) some slightly (spring moss and simply chartreuse). Others look the same as day one. At first I thought the sun had faded them, but they are next to samples of my distress inks, memento, etc and NONE of those have changed. I'm bummed, since I love the colors they offer...but if they don't hold color, they are of no use to me.

PTI tries time after time after time to make a decent ink and fail.

PTI tries time after time after time to have a decent website and fail.

PTI tries time after time after time to deal with customers and fail.

PTI tries time after time after time to have a release that goes smoothly and fail.

See a pattern? No hope for the future?

And yet people keep buying.

18:07, In all those sentences you wrote, it should be:

Does your ear not tell you that you need that s on the end of 'fail' to match 'tries'?

Anonymous said...

why do i have to keep scrolling? its soooooooo annoying

Anonymous said...

18:07 Please explain how this release didn't go smoothly? It did for me. And btw, I love the new inks. Haven't had the first problem with them. Not saying someone else didn't but I think the ones that are happy far outweigh the ones who aren't

Anonymous said...

OMG, if you can't handle scrolling GO EAT a bag of CHEETO's or something!

Anonymous said...

I'm asking this here since I know it won't/can't get answered on the forum. I bought a couple of the new inks when they were first released. I just used Autumn Rose for the first time yesterday. It's really dark, almost like Scarlet Jewel. Anyone else have that issue?

Anonymous said...

PTI is plural in that it is 3 owners. They fail. They don't fails.

Yup the Autumn Rose ink is dark

Locking the defective ink thread. And not explaining it. Good one, PTI.

At every turn, PTI has to investigate the customer's request to refund/exchange/etc. because PTI thinks it is being cheated out of a couple of bucks.

So sad.

Anonymous said...

Yep, sounds like there's inconsistency in the ink. Why is it that after 3 tries they still haven't gotten it right?

Yeah, I feel like a sucker for buying the new inks. Hey, at least I have some good pigment inks (AMuse and Impress Fresh Ink) and another dye ink (Hero Arts).

They should just rename the company Papertrey and stop selling ink. it shouldn't be that hard to get a workable quality formula. all the other companies have done it for oh, like ALWAYS.

Anonymous said...

serious, non snarky question.

why did you buy the ink?
why do you continue to place orders yet complain when the CS sucks?

Anonymous said...

Regarding the Sweet Blush ink being OOS since mid June, here is a little gem of a thread where people were complaining about the color.

http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36158&hilit=sweet+blush

And at the end, Nichole says you can return the ink pad. She also says they would need it for the code to send to the manufacturer if in fact it is a bad batch.

Funny how she said it would be back in stock in 4 weeks and here we are 6 weeks later....typical PTI.

I will never ever buy any more inks from them. I am happy with my SU, Amuse, Memento and Memento inks.

On a completely different subject, I have been waiting for Becky Higgins to stock her Project Life pages for months. It's been kind of aggravating not to be able to buy some of her products. BUT she has updated customers every tiny step of the way. She tells them when things will be in, when they arrive. She LISTENS to her customers and actually talks to them without any condenscending tone. She is working her ass off to accomodate her customers. She will get my hard earned money. And lots of it. I love supporting people like her.

prediction -- forum going bat shit again within 3 days. hey Rick, don't lock, delete. seeing those locked threads just encourages others to ask the same question over and over.

2nd prediction -- Nichole will leave PTI within a year.

Anonymous said...

05:41 - yep, the minute people started to say the ink colour was weird, and others said they were not going to buy it, the thread got locked quick smart.
I had some of the 2nd generation PTI inks, some good, most ended up in the trash. I would never contemplate spending more money on their 'new' inks.

Anonymous said...

The forum will not go bat shit IMO. Any threads that deal with anything controversial will be locked or ignored (Ami's TOS question).

All of the people that were passionate about seeing Papertrey change have either given up posting or are sitting here quietly.

As for Nichole leaving? Who knows.

Anonymous said...

5:34, I purchased the ink without any prior knowledge of PTI's product quality or customer service issues.

I ordered because I saw something I wanted that I couldn't get anywhere else (either from other manufacturers or used items from the forum). I now have everything on my "wish list" and more supplies than I could possibly stamp with during the coming year.

I will purchase again (cardstock) to use up my remaining rewards points.

Ami's TOS question: "I'm curious when the customer service forum will begin to be moderated. There are posts from April that have not been answered.

And Rick's reply: "We have been monitoring the forum and opening tickets for the issues that need to be addressed on an individual customer basis. We have been making the transition to the new system and answering the tickets as they come in, but I will work to make sure the forum is better monitored....

I have also set up the system now so that any forum posts on Zendesk get emailed to me directly so I can make sure they get answered in a timely fashion...

Was there a specific issue that you needed addressed?

I'm impressed with the reply. Polite, to the point, and no snarkiness. And best of all, the thread wasn't locked. Good job, Rick.

The only way I'd ever buy ink from PTI again is if the label said something like "Perfect Match by Memento" or similar. In other words, a proven brand name behind it.

There's a great list that was put together on the PTI forum by Jennifer K. Lots of people collaborated on it. I believe that most, if not all, of the Fresh and Amuse inks that are close to PTI colors are on the list. Many other brands as well:

11:24, I wasn't trying to be rude at all, but over the last few days/weeks there have been so many requests for ink comparisons or links to ink comparisons. It gets old. A Papertrey Ink Worldview:

1. If you don't order from PTI you are irrelevant.

a) If you have a product problem, you are devious, manipulative and dishonest.

b) If you don't have a product problem and 'play nice', you're a useful idiot.

I'm not sure I want to be a 'valued customer'. Just a respected one would be fine, thank you.

This blog has limitations when it comes to information sharing. (Like not being sure where to find that ink link!)

Is anyone here interested in a new forum? Sort of an "Unofficial PTI" kind of thing? Not a smack forum, but a place where people can discuss things honestly, good and bad - and if you love your new stamps you can say so and if your ink is giving problems you can also say so.

Thoughts?
