I heart papers! Fast shipping and they have lots of stuff I did not know they had. Copic refills too!

Anonymous said...

I have a sandwich stuck in my vagabond.

Anonymous said...

Add a little mayo.

Anonymous said...

Good thing that Ted is still speaking with his wallet.

Anonymous said...

Somebody asked about full text background stamps. JustRite Stamps has a new line of background stamps. Full size, not little strips. Some are very cute.

Rick Geymonat said...

Hello there! :)

Anonymous said...

Hello to you.
:-D

Anonymous said...

Sandwich in my vagabond just makes me snicker.

NAUA said...

Rick, is there any chance that pti will offer a phone # for cs issues?
Thanks for your time.

Rick Geymonat said...

I'm about ready to give out mine :) In the meantime, they are working to get a number that people can call during business hours...

Anonymous said...

Rick, if you give out yours, you are going to receive lonely women calls, if you know what I mean!

Anonymous said...

omg, can we stop with the gushing?

Anonymous said...

i posted about my wplus9 order still awaiting fulfillment. got an email this am saying it has shipped. yay!

Anonymous said...

Within 36 hours of ordering, I got shipping notices from Lawn Fawn and WPlus9. Within 12 hours of ordering I got shipping notice from WMS and MFT (with Fed Ex Tracking number).

Anonymous said...

No offense to Rick. But this Rick gushing is getting to me too.

Kathy said...

Rick,

How come DT members can solve cs issues BUT Jenn, the actual customer service rep, could not??? I just don't get it... Wasn't that her job???I assumed her hands were tied but now the DT has permission to solve things?

Anonymous said...

yes, that was not meant to be offensive but it just was getting to be a bit much.

Anonymous said...

^^^ yeah, i agree. a bit embarrassing, really.

Anonymous said...

Those whining about the gushing are worse than the gushers. You are making fools of yourselves.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, some of you ladies are seeming a bit desperate. But I do notice that this craft bring about lots of desperate women. Esp those seeking attention and constant "stroking" of the ego (needing comments and validation on everything). But I guess if you don't get that from your husband, wife, whoever, you come out to the forums and search for it.

I'm not trying to be mean, as I notice I am guilty of it in different situations (work, etc).

I'm being facetious here...Let's not let Rick's ego get to big. Play a little hard to get!!

Anonymous said...

Those whining about the whining of the whiners are THE WORST! lol

omathgoddess said...

Just received a reply to my zendesk e-mail sent last week. Good to see that they are making some progress.

I had mentioned that I was banned from the forum, and his advice was to check Nichole's blog for updates. I am no longer banned and see that there have been some updates on the forum - can anyone tell me if she has put those same notices on her blog? I took all the DT off my reader and I really don't want to look at any of the sneak peeks. I may be boycotting PTI, but I never said it would be easy ;)

Anonymous said...

@11:55 lol

Anonymous said...

thank you 10:21 - off to check out that stamp :-)

Anonymous said...

Holy cardstock!! I ordered from WPlus9 at 9am this morning. My.order.has.shipped.

Anonymous said...

Holy cardstock!! I ordered from WPlus9 at 9am this morning. My.order.has.shipped.

Anonymous said...

Anyone use Wplus9 cardstock? $4 for 15 sheets seems expensive to me.

Anonymous said...

Yup, it does seem incredibly expensive for cardstock. I mean, it's not diamond encrusted paper or anything!!

InkStink said...

WPlus9 just introduced cardstock on April 5. My order is schedule to arrive tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think about the paper once they are in my hands. Someone has already asked Dawn W about larger cardstock packs (which might have a better cost/sheet) - this was just her starting point.

Anonymous said...

I wondered. It did say new. Thanks!

Also... does anyone know - with Gina K's stamp sets, if there is no artist name next to the set, does that mean Gina drew them herself?

I know I could ask Gina herself but I was here anyway.

Anonymous said...

Gina may or may not have drawn it herself. GinaK uses lots of those dover clip art images.

lots of stamp companies do...

Anonymous said...

So why can't the 3 Stooges adequately stock their product? How hard is inventory control when you've been in business for years? These morans never cease to amaze me.

christie said...

If Rick can "come out", so can I. Banned in California no more!

Anonymous said...

14:11, that's a bummer.

Anonymous said...

@14:23 Amen.

And I am blown away that I think this is the first time I've heard them called "Three Stooges." Brilliant!

Unknown said...

Ordered from Law Fawn last night (Just on set as it's really not my style generally) and it's shipped.

NAUA said...

Hi Christie!

Anonymous said...

Seriously Ted, you need to stop with the PTI butt kissin'!

One minute he's speaking with his wallet (which never did happen!!) and the next he's all over a fricken strawberry stamp set!

Geese..........

Anonymous said...

Ted is a douche!

Anonymous said...

Ted is a complete douche.

Oh look, Mishie hasn't been on the forum in months and now she shows up with her hand out to collect money from her new stamp set.

Anonymous said...

I don't want to start smacking innocent customers... but "how do you handle critisism?" I kind of want to correct the spelling.

And my first answer on seeing the question was really - better than PTI.

Anonymous said...

I have a question for Rick the forum guy: Can you give us "hover" snippets?

(hover the mouse over the thread title and see a little bit of what it's about before we click on another one of Ted's fake-complaining-but-really-gushy stupid posts. :p )

Anonymous said...

^^^^^
That would be awesome!

Anonymous said...

I would love the hover function. It's on SCS and it is great.

Anonymous said...

God i'd love that function too, it would be awesome.

Is it just me that sees the comedy value in Ted liking Lighthouses and Goats?

Anonymous said...

PS - I'd love it if PTI Smacker could get rid of the ton of space at the end of the comments section. Pretty please?

Anonymous said...

Hi Rick, are you able to make the smiley :) on the board a 'flat' smiley instead of the 'turning smiley'?

Anonymous said...

Can't stand the turning smiley.

I think The Ted is high comedy value all the time. It's the only thing that makes me not cringe when I see him.

Anonymous said...

I don't get the Ted bashing at all. He seems like a really nice person.

Beating a Dead Horse said...

I finally put Ted on ignore, just couldn't take it any longer.

Anonymous said...

17:12 - you crack me up. Have you READ his posts? He is annoying as hell!

Anonymous said...

17:50, I am not on the forum enough to bother. I just started panicking when he came on SCS. That's MY domain Ted!

Anonymous said...

I guess I am not easily annoyed. Maybe that is why I am a middle school teacher. I think Ted is kind of endearing.

Anonymous said...

Ted is aware of this blog. STFU and stick to PTI.

Anonymous said...

Hi Ted

Anonymous said...

I ordered from PTI this afternoon, already have a tracking number.

Anonymous said...

I ordered from Clear & Simple Stamps this morning, enough to get free shipping. Got a shipping notice two hours later, and UPS is already tracking and says I'll have it in my possession by Thursday. Beats the HECK out of PTI free shipping!!

Rick Geymonat said...

Will have to check on the flat smiley. Any smiley you find you can email me and I can upload it....well....almost any :)

I will check on the hover...

Anonymous said...

still waiting on the rainbow-farting unicorn

Anonymous said...

15:40, in her defense (criticism chickie) I don't believe English is her first language.

18:56, just because you have a tracking number doesn't mean it has left Cincinnati. It only means the label has been printed. That's what you get now instead of the fake shipping notice.

I forgot to let you guys know the very good update on my first Verve order.

They not only came in already, but got here THURSDAY instead of the quoted Friday. So lets review:

Ordered on 4/2 and received on 4/5.

I've already broken them out and stamped up a bunch of them.

SU ink sucks on these stamps, pools up and leaves a splotchy impression. Not the stamp's fault though. My Memento dye ink gave beautiful coverage.

All inks stained the stamp easily, but I don't care about that. The stamp also has a really good cling, similar to the PTI quality.

AND they sent me a free sentiment stamp just for being a customer.

Verve rocks. And I can't wait to try other companies as well.

Anonymous said...

leave ted alone

Anonymous said...

yeah, verve has good quality. i just don't like the style of their stamps so much ...

Anonymous said...

I use my SU inks with Verve all the time. You could try taking a white eraser to your stamps before you use them. That helps me.

They are made with the exact material as MFT and PTI, so the inks should react the same with them all.

christie said...

Whoever gave us the discount code to the Silhouette Cameo, thanks! I ordered mine and it just shipped! Thanks! Now let's hope I can learn how to use it :-)

Anonymous said...

@ christie - Kerri Bradford has a "getting to know your silhouette" class that I signed up for at Jessica Sprague. Good basic, beginner info and many cutting files are included in the $19 price. Sounds like she is planning more advanced classes soon.

christie said...

@23:02, thanks for the info on the class, I will sign up!

Anonymous said...

I like the onesie card die from Taylored Expression. Has anybody ordered from TE?

Katarina said...

I've ordered from TE in the past and was happy with their service. However I just ordered the onesie notecard die a few days ago and haven't gotten any tracking yet.

Anonymous said...

19:35 - I appreciate your pessimism but I know how to read a tracking notice. It's started to move through the post office already.

Anonymous said...

Kerri Bradford's class is awesome. I've learned quite a few new things. Well worth the money.

Anonymous said...

Flat smilie in da house!

Anonymous said...

Looks like another month of totally boring releases. I see nothing even remotely new.

Anonymous said...

Looks like PTI has lost it's creative mojo. On to other companies.

Anonymous said...

I like the strawberries but then again, I have always liked Michelle W collab sets.

I have been stamping for more than 10 years and really there is nothing that I need. If I don't buy stamps for a few months (or years!), it won't kill me.

Anonymous said...

08:07, I'm feeling the same way. Of the releases, I do like the strawberries, if I had to choose.

I also do know I do have enough things, but I enjoy getting new too. I haven't ordered from PTI for almost a year. I was waiting for the new site and point redemption, but when that didn't work properly, I didn't order then either.

Rick, if you want, you can let the PTB know that there is at least one customer with a pretty long wish list that can't get up the energy to fight with finding the things I want in the store and placing the order. Please, make it better.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't believe today's sneak peeks... blech.

I don't know if it's even a question of personal taste anymore. Many of the stamps look poorly designed lately.

Anonymous said...

I got some Verve sets a xmas. Very fast shipping, nicely packaged (not overdone, if you get my drift). The stamps themselves are great. I agree about them not being my style, though. It's like with Gina K - I'd love to buy from them just for their great CS but don't like any of their stuff enough to shell out more money.

Anonymous said...

Oh, good grief. To round or not to round?????

DT's seem to have a day off today...

More ideas for bored stamper threads:

1-Do you prefer to use scissors with gray handles or orange handles?

2-Do you throw away the backing from sticker sheets or have you found a use for them?

3-What do you do with the glitter that falls off cards?

4-How often do you dust your punches?

5-Does the noise of acrylic blocks on your desk bother you? What do you do about it?

6-Which side of your tan/gold embossing mat goes up and which side goes down?

7-Do you prefer blue or black ink to address envelopes?

8-Does what you eat while crafing coordinate with the colors you are using on your cards?

9-Do your cards lean more Republican or Democrat in style?

InkStink said...

I'm glad I'm not buying. Only one of the sneaks is remotely interesting to me (strawberries).
How many trees, birds and baby sets does one need?

I did LOL at NH's characterization of the sentiments in Lexi Daly's set as fresh. Isn't "you've got the cutest little baby face" from a song from the 30's? Lordy Bee, that's fresh.

Anonymous said...

The "steam" lol, coming out of the baby's head is disturbing.

Anonymous said...

Great post, 10:33! I could actually imagine the DT writing those.

Today's peeks? Ugh - the tag is awful, and the baby? It looks like it's head is about to detach.

Calling that "fresh" is ridiculous. As bad as calling Dawn's unique or whatever... marching to the beat of your own drummer isn't necessarily a positive thing.

Anonymous said...

@10:29, I can see why this person is fuming mad, but I sure wouldn't be surprised. I don't know why some people still think things are going to run smoothly.

Truth is Hostage said...

I can understand why she's mad too, but honestly, I don't know many sites that actually keep the items in your cart once you've navigated away from their site. Amazon does, but who else? Maybe I"m just living under a rock. LOL.

Anonymous said...

Almost all of the online crafting sites I use keep your basket for months with no activity. It is kind of how I keep track of wishlists.

Anonymous said...

Lexi's new stamp is cute...baby looks fine to me. But I read on her blog that she just got her stamp set yesterday to begin making her own sneak peek items.

Cutting it a little close to release time, eh PTI???

Truth is Hostage said...

11:31, really? I guess I *am* living under a rock. I kind of want to ask where you shop but my method of putting things in the cart and having them go away once I log off keeps me from spending massive amounts of money. When my car is gone, I can't remember what I wanted or find I don't really like the stuff enough to buy the 2nd time anyway. I'm glad you have other places to shop that fit your needs.

Anonymous said...

2peas keeps your stuff in their cart forever.

Rick Geymonat said...

Each cookie has an expiry date after which it is trashed. If the site doesn't specify the expiry date the cookie is trashed when you close the browser.

InkStink said...

Ellen Hutson keeps your cart forever, too.

Anonymous said...

Rick, does the web site's programming override the individual's browser settings? I know I can set my browser to either keep the cookies until they expire or clear them all when I close the browser.

I'm just curious now.

I've had items in my cart for some time, more than a week, I'm sure, and they are still there. I tried adding a new item and everything stayed. I have noticed that once I leave the site and return, the "keep shopping" button won't take me back to the "shopping" area, I have to choose one of the navigation buttons at the top of the screen.

Rick Geymonat said...

Website never over-rides the local machine...at least as far as I know..

FYI...I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff..

Anonymous said...

Rick, you are the perfect PTI rep!! Blame the customer's own computer. No matter that everyone is telling you that her same computer keeps other company's cart... oh yeah you are an idiot on these things.

DT is absent because the forum isn't exploding. I for one cannot wait for April 16th. the mistakes are actually entertaining. then the wait and watch for the shipping.

Even the sunshine DT won't be able to contain the uproar when the loyalists packages mysteriously disappear en route.

Anonymous said...

The forum admin should know how to remedy this as I do not have this problem of cart emptying with other sites, but have it all the time with PTI. If Rick doesn't know, who SHOULD know. I hope I don't go to the clinic and get told that no one there knows how to remove the nail from my foot and that I need to just take care of it myself.

-----------------

The forum admin has NOTHING to do with the pti website. The Website Developer SHOULD know...I am not that person...

That's like saying I have a nail in my foot and I'm upset that cashier at Kroger cannot remove it for me...

Rick Geymonat said...

-------------------

And I must be the opposite of a perfect PTI rep...cause if you read my post I was blaming the PTI site...not the customer's computer..

Anonymous said...

Isn't the forum and the store both part of the PTI website? If not you, WHO is in charge of the entire PTI website, store, forum, chatboard, etc?

Rick Geymonat said...

The forum has nothing to do with the store....two different servers, two different Operating Systems, two different ADMINS.

I have never worked on the store and have no interest in doing so. When I see someone has an issue with the store, I do what I can to help them...which usually means I send an email to the people responsible for the store site

Anonymous said...

Thanks for clearing that up, Rick. I have been a customer for years and always believed it was all the same site.

Anonymous said...

Kind of wish there could be a sticky here about who Rick is and what he does, because it looks like some commenters have not caught up yet.

Anonymous said...

or Rick is not exactly being honest. Possible? I think he is the web site designer and it is not his trained skill. And that is why it is a mess.

I could be wrong but it's a smack blog and anything is possible.

Rick Geymonat said...

or Rick is not exactly being honest. Possible? I think he is the web site designer and it is not his trained skill. And that is why it is a mess.

------------

And what, pray tell, would lead you to believe that, other than just pure ignorance on the subject?

Anonymous said...

14:30, what would you possibly base that on? First of all, the two things are entirely different.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure that if he was the web developer, he'd know better than to show up here b/c that person darn well better be busy fixing that mess!

Anonymous said...

Most forum software is "pre-fab," and sometimes hosted on a separate server. So quite often the forum components are administered separately from a store page, separate logins, etc. It's not ideal, but it is common. And since PTI doesn't seem to have much of a budget for IT (how long did they have a Yahoo store?) then it's not really surprising.

Anonymous said...

Part of the store problem is that the cookie is resetting once a user logs in, that seems to wipe out a cart you may have started. However since the login cookie is not persisting through the user session for whatever reason, the carts keep getting dumped.

Anonymous said...

Shopping cart info is a totally easy fix. My friend had an online store and her "web guy" made it so the items in the cart stayed in there until removed - regardless of how many times the person logged in and out of the store.

PTI isn't doing this because they obviously haven't told their website programmer to make it that way.

Has anyone suggested it to PTI to change it? They probably haven't thought of it.

Anonymous said...

14:58, tell me you're dripping with sarcasm there, right??

It's been all over the forum about carts dumping since the website was changed.

Anonymous said...

Please let's not be ignorant and chase the away the only employee of PTI that has been able to get some results lately

Anonymous said...

let's review where we are.

What has improved?
What needs to improve?

Anonymous said...

Needs:
Carts that stay put.
Log ins that actually remember you.
Faster (accurate) shipping. No more emails when a label is printed.
Better return/exchange policy.
Shipping options for internationals. Cheaper and/or varied options.
Quicker resolution to CS issues.
Equal distribution of decision-making power. Dave shouldn't have to run everything by the all powerful Oz.

Anonymous said...

Most clothing retailers do too. Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic keep your carts even if you don't log in and have an account. Book retailers also keep track for you too.

Anonymous said...

Faster (accurate) shipping. No more emails when a label is printed.
----------------------------

I actually don't think that the generation of the email when the label is printed is a problem - I believe that's probably fairly standard. The problem is the ridiculously long delays between printing of label and actual handing off of package to USPS. I wouldn't have a problem with getting a shipping notice, say, at noon on a Tuesday, if my package went through the sorting facility in Cinci Tuesday night. But if it isn't going to actually leave PTI until Friday, then don't print my damn label on Tuesday!!

And the stock PTI answer of "USPS often doesn't scan at every step" has always made me mad. It's true that they SOMETIMES don't scan at every step - it seems to depend on certain hubs or something - but my packages have ALMOST ALWAYS been scanned every step along the way.
