Fresh Space

Hey guise~ just to let you all know I had nothing to do with the reply format turning out the way it is- it just happened because Blogger wanted to make this threaded reply thing happen. I'm trying to undo the stupid thing right now but I've tried the instructions and they don't work (go figure, it's Blogger!) in the mean time I'll be posting more fresh space, sounds good?

I edited the comment page to this current sort- comment and let me know if that's fine otherwise we're going back to the other one with the reply forms. Also, let me know how much comments we should get to before fresh space is posted. Cheers guys!

  2. Let me know what you think about this whole comment thing?

  3. It's nice that you're staying on top of everything, PTIS III! 'Preciate it!

  4. So we have another African American here?

  5. Latest post from, well, I'll let you guess.

I'm really getting frankly tired of how EACH and EVERY release you somehow manage to disintegrate my resolve like some type of Battlestar Galactica laser weapon.

Honestly... I go to your blog (Mistake #1) and while it's loading think, "I can do this... I can resist. I mean...she's only human. She can't.....she....she wouldn't..." (then the page loads)

And gah! I'm blown away...and yet again, I rush over to my Word document in another window and add some things to the Wish List. (Yes, I capitalize mine).

Please, woman...just stop. I don't know...maybe make your cards in the dark...with one hand tied behind your back. After you've had four or five glasses of wine.

Or send instructions how I can put a parental block on your blog so I can't access it between the 10th and the 15th of each month.

But when is enough, enough?! I'm sure by the time my life is done, I will have placed one of your children through Harvard.

Maybe make your stamps out of Saran wrap. Or Silly Putty.

Stop with your supernatural creativity and your high-quality polymer stamps. I'm BEGGING YOU! Show mercy.

Edit: Sorry...the above was typed by my wallet. I'll try to reign her in better next time.

    Gag!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hmm, I just got a free thank you set too. Placed order on the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  7. ^^^ I don't want to visit the forum, let me guess.. that gag-inducing post is from Ted?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I did like the line about putting her kids through Harvard though. Too true!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh I don't like to comment on a separate page...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Aren't Slice cards all on clearance at M's? I feel sorry for anyone trying to sell one!

    ReplyDelete
  11. OMG, Ted is SUUUUUUUUCH a suck up!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Can I ask an honest question?

If you were a visitor to my blog (98% card/project pics with approx 2% personal posts)

    What would you rather see?
A pictoral list of recent cards?
    Pic and supply list?
    Pic and 'how to list'

What's your preference? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Or

Pic and a little 3 line story?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Apologies that I cannot please everyone with the comment system. You all wanted no pop up comments, and I turned that off. And then the threaded system wasn't a welcome change and I tried to solve it with this one last commenting system Blogger has, so it's either this, or the pop up or the reply one. I really did try so go easy on me! ;)

Also.... omg that post by Ted.. I want to vomit.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh no he didn't. Really Ted?

    ReplyDelete
  16. 19:01, I like a pic and a specific supply list unless you are showcasing a new and different technique. If I like a stamp you've used, it's very helpful to have the name of the set, not just the manufacturer.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @ PTI Smacker III, So you're saying that can't turn the reply feature off? That blows.

I guess I like this one the best, then... at least we can "Show Original Post" w/this format.

    p.s., Ted.... eww. Stop.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have been vocal about PTI's crappy customer service and unfufilled promises but it seems like a no win situation for Nichole as far as the customer rewards date goes. She has said that they are looking at an after January release timeline and that should be enough for now. If the time is getting close and they aren't ready, they can (and should) make an announcement and move from there.
It drives me crazy that people expect every last detail before she even has the information. Give it a rest and let her work on it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. OH BOY! Just when I was strong and haven't ordered from PTI in over 6 months -they go and release KRAFT RIBBONS AND BUTTONS!

    Must. Stay. Strong!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Comment limit should be 100, PTI 3, just so we don't have to scroll more than necessary. I prefer this format, but then I am one to leave this (and the other) blog open at all times and refresh occasionally. It works just fine for this and is WAY better than the reply function which is good for personal blogs but crappy in this "open forum".

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily

    French Pastry

Is it the same as PTI's Parisian Lace Doily?

    PTI Parisian Lace

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks 12:14, I thought they were but wasn't sure!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Damn it!!
    I love the kraft buttons!!

It has been months since i can say that about anything PTI has put out!!
    UGH...

    ReplyDelete
  24. 11:53, they look to be identical. I assume Cheery Lynn copied PTI? Really crappy!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Which would be really stupid since Cheery Lynn = Dies Direct who manufactures PTI dies. Why would they take a chance on pissing off a big customer like that?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I believe Cheery Lynn offered it first.

Also, on the issue of the customer rewards, this was promised to begin around May. It's now January and they can't say a date? They are idiots.

They must be developing a website with a $59.99 web package. No reputable company would take that long to launch (and yeah, I know the mess they got into with a previous web developer - still no excuse). I say again, they are idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Cheery Lynn did indeed offer it first, they also have a lot of other lace dies that I love but they are too expensive to buy :O

Also hating on PTI for the kraft buttons and ribbons.

15:43 agreed that no reputable web developer will take such a long time to code and finish their stupid website of fail

    ReplyDelete
  28. Companies all over the planet develop new web sites all the time so it is unbelievable that PTI cannot get theirs in place. No excuses for that. They have been 'promising' it for ages.
Pretty soon everyone will be wanting to cash in their rewards.
Will be interesting how that plays out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anyone here familiar with the Alley Way Stamps? Just came across their website today (http://www.thealleywaystamps.com/) and am DISGUSTED with how similar they are to Paper Smooches (http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=21)!! This woman has literally stolen Kim Hughes' designs - how do people do this shiz and sleep at night?! Are you kidding me?!! Look at the sentiment sets - virtual COPIES of Paper Smooches!! This is outrageous. I hope Kim Hughes kicks this woman's a*& right into court!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Regarding the lace die: Nichole mentioned last year that PTI liked French Pastry die and that they requested permission to the original manufacturer (Cheery Lynn) to carry it on PTI.
I like Cheery Lynn's dies, they are pricey, though (pti version is cheaper!) but they actually ship fast!

    ReplyDelete
  31. @ 21:54 did you send a link to Kim and alert her to the similarities? I think she should be made aware... they are strikingly similar in style, concepts, etc. I've never heard of the owner, but see Laurel Seabrook on their DT. Isn't she kind of a big-wig stamper? If she is, I would HOPE she'd be hesitant to work with a company that's being a copycat.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That's the problem when you draw like a four year old and use TT fonts. Anyone can do/use the same thing. I'm staying out of the fight, but I don't like either of them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Agree with Aeryn!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lover her or hate her, Kim Hughes' style is very distinctive (I can take or leave it, I liked her stuff better when she was with CHF). This new woman is clearly just stealing it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't like either, never understood the 'love' for paper smooches.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is it just me or are Erin's "Simply Jane" cards today a train wreck?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like Heather Nichols' projects, but then I like her style, so it fits. Still have no interest in the set though.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks for getting rid of the big space PTI Smacker!

Ugh, all of Erin Lincoln's release stuff is fug.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dislike all the Simply Jane stuff except for the frame.. everything else, meh.

I actually like Paper Smooches, for the same reason I like Lawn Fawn- their images make me grin lol

    ReplyDelete
  40. Where are Michelle W's Simply Jane cards? It kind of looks like she didn't use (or get?) all of the products.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I know it's funny that I don't like Paper Smooches since according to my blog I have 36 projects with Lawn Fawn already posted and many more to come, but I just don't get the creepy-fat-big-eyed animal thing. I think that's why I don't like Littlest Pet Shop anymore. They used to be cute toys when I was a kid, when they actually looked like real animals.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have seen that jar card from Michelle W before. It looks like she just threw her cards together at the last minute by case-ing herself.
That's too bad because I like Michelle W.'s cards. BTW, I hate project life so I have unsubbed from her.

    ReplyDelete
  43. 5:16 - Now that Michelle is on the "PTI lite" team with Debbie Olsen, neither she nor Debbie do the group posts. It just seems like they're not required to do them.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oops, Olson, not Olsen.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The jar card was from the Stamp a Faire make n take.

    ReplyDelete
  46. LOL, Aeryn!

I have a couple Lawn Fawn/Paper Smooches sets in my collection. Not my style, but works on cards for some people/occasions.

Thought it funny that ACN's blog expired yesterday just in time for Heady to send everyone there to look at her creations.

I know Mish went on the "lite" team but one post this release? I'd like that job - get all the products, make one card. I could keep up with that pace.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It is especially easy for Mish since she recycled all of her cards!
    I'd take that gig too!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ashley's blog is up. Must have been a momentarily thing.

    ReplyDelete
  49. OMG someone help me. I saw the new kraft color line and I want it. Please someone stop me from ordering from PTI!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Am I the only one who is extremely "meh" about this release?

The only think I *remotely* liked was the handmade stamps and the kraft buttons...and even then...

I wonder if its like I used to do in middle school.. on the day of the dance, I came to school all frumpy so that I looked THAT much better at the dance. LOL... this way, frumpy release --- and February anniversary month looks even better!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is a very frou frou type release with the exception of the alpha dies. Not my style. Love Jane Austen, but can't imagine who I'd send those cards to! The kraft stuff is tempting though.

BTW, for those folks who like the Jane Austen patterned paper. Go to dafont, download the free font, and make your own.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ^^^ That's a good idea. You could also stamp it in any color if you have the text-style background stamps.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The only thing I like is the Kraft stuff (I'm a sucker for Kraft) and the letter dies, neither of which is enough to get me to spend money. Complete lackluster release to me. I'm glad I spent my money elsewhere yesterday (20% off on digi stamps) as I'm sure I'll have MUCH more fun!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I like the upper case alphabet dies (since I already have the lower case) and the kraft buttons/ribbon. Everything else is YUCK!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL Aeryn.. Back in my day, too, when the animals looked like animals. I don't have any animal sets from Paper smooches, only the Cupcake thingy one and some sentiments one and I think a monster that looks kind of funny standing there.

I have a confession to make, smackers, I gave PTI money today :( you are all allowed to stone me right now :( BUT... I did give Market Street Stamps some love - they have a sale now and you can get a lot of their awesome bg stamps which I can't stop using. Huge fan of theirs right now.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I wont't say I caved, because I never intended to stop ordering from PTI. But I ordered last night. Mainly CS and ribbon.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Trell- wish i could order more CS but those make the box heavy to ship and I am not in the US... Boo. So I order a pack or two each time I buy and I'm still missing colours and stuff get used up *shaking my head*

    ReplyDelete
  58. I have to say that I have not ordered from PTI for MONTHS because of the crappy way they were treating their customers. But I finally caved. I had a small issue and Dave Heink handled my problem with respect quite efficiently. I am impressed and really like this guy! Brownie points for him, not so much PTI- ha!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well, PTI hired him, so technically it's brownie points to them as well. If he's good, and they implemented him because he is good, then they are trying to do something positive. Don't knock them for no reason.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm still staying strong and have not ordered from PTI in many months. Though to be honest I have been making fewer cards and been doing more scrapping. The dies and felt would be the first things I'd order though LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  61. anybody unable to access the forum?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I breezed through the forum about 30 minutes ago and it was fine. Can't get to it now either. Could they possibly be making a switch to the new website?

    ReplyDelete
  63. My computer says the site crashed...

    ReplyDelete
  64. Lots and LOTS of stamp sets left. This month was a BUST.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ugh, that Simply Jane stamp set it stupid. I can't even imagine using it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. That set would be good if you like vintagey, shabby chic cards because it's quite a pretty set but my style is more CAS so I will not be purchasing it. Do love Jane Austen, though!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Forum still not accessible ... :(

    ReplyDelete
  68. I like Jane Austen as much as the next gal but I would never make a card with any of her quotes or referencesf I have zero friends who share my love for JA so who exactly would get the cards using Simply Jane? I get that PTI is trying to start a new trend but it is the lamest idea since Lordy Bees.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh yeah, and the forum is still down.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's up and then it's down ... at least they could let ppl know via NH's blog ... :(

    ReplyDelete
  71. ^^ they're probably trying to fix it ... give it a while and try again later.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I agree it looks like this release was a bust. Limitless Layers are sold out, but plenty of everything else. Looks like most popular stamps sets were Mat Stack 5 & Think Big. The rest there are hundreds left...

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't like it much at all...

    ReplyDelete
  73. If I was buying, I'd get:

The Simply Jane dies, the caps and letter dies, the flourish dies, the think big $5 set, the script sents set, the mat stack collection, and the kraft stuff.

    But... I'm not. So, yea.

ps, If I was Kim... I'd be flattered that anyone would wanna copy those designs. Yuck.

    ReplyDelete
  74. WTF are these people so excited to spend $500 (which is only PART of their tax refund) on PTI? WTF are you getting that big a refund? If you are, adjust your holdings, then you can take home more and not give the government an interest free loan all year long. Then you can buy every month and not have to post everything you own so everyone else can tell you what to buy... sorry, just had to get that out.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I get a large tax refund b/c I'm a student and my kids go to private school without any assistance.

Not that it's any of your business. But yea.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm a student too but I have to agree with the other poster that you adjust your withholdings to not get huge refunds. I take the extra money and save it every month. I tweak it so I get about $200 back so I'm never in worry of owing at all. I also don't get why you'd want to give soemone else your money.

not sure what private school has to do with anything, since most of those credits are non-refundable for college and you can't write off K-12...but yea.

    ReplyDelete
  77. we get a MUCH larger refund than that, and it's because of medical expenses and write offs and many other factors that have nothing to do with "adjusting". If you don't know everyone's finances personally, pls don't deign to comment on them.

    ReplyDelete
  78. eh, someone was venting. isn't this the place for venting?

I personally find the poster on the PTI boards annoying and how she has $500 to spend doesn't matter as much to me - she doesn't need to post everything she owns to have others shop for her... I think that is lame. I would want to pick out what I would use. Having a bunch of strangers (who are probably getting ticked because you haven't shipped their rip off of ribbon yet) tell you what to buy is weird.

    ReplyDelete
  79. She does absolutely too much for me. Trying way too hrd, it's not that serious. I love knowing that I don't care if someone likes me or not.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Didn't buy anything this release and didn't notice. Shouldn't have to for a long time since there's been some pretty good deals on the for sale/trade boards and the shipping is super fast. Bless the crafter with unlimited crafting budget and buyers remorse.

    ReplyDelete
  81. What?!? The girl who did the ribbon share is the one wanting shopping advice?!? That is frickin' hilarious. Wow doing that ribbon share really paid off for her, huh.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I actually kind of like the "what should I buy" threads. At least the ones at 2Peas. It's fun to see what someone would buy with their XMas/Birthday/Refund money because it might not be something you've thought of. You can discover new things that someone else has been loving, but you've never even heard of.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Just found this blog...Been off siCk from work for a couple of weeks now...so thrilled with the entertainment! LoL.
I went to stamp-a-fare last year and brought back (to Canada) a good supply of paper that I have not even dented (and had leftovers from CHA the year before!). PTI has not seen a dime of my money since...oh wait, I lied. I bought a thing of the new ink (not that impressive) and some felt that I ordered with a friend...the shipping they charge to Canada (plus customs charges) is just criminal! I am (trying) to keep my money more local and supporting the smaller companies. I love Stamping Bella from Toronto (which is not far from me!). Kudos to everyone for standing ground on service issues...there's plenty of fish that offer more than PTI!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. @1:17... good for you to live close enough to shop personally at Stamping Bella. Ordering from them is something I refuse to do anymore. They're shipping times suck, as does their customer service/communication. I have waited days and days for responses to emails, and waited weeks for shipment more than once. And one time was even told the shipment had gone out, but when I finally received it, it actually hadn't left their hands until a week after they said it did. They and PTI don't get any more of my money!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Actually 7:22, Private school has a lot to do with my returns. I can write off the expenses of my kids that are k-12, and I write off the pre-k expenses as well.

And what I have left over month to month isn't much, so watch it with your comparing what you can put away towards withholdings and what I can.

Just b/c you have a perfect solution to your finances, doesn't mean you can paint such a broad stroke and apply it to everyone else's.

I agree with Aeryn 100%. You should refrain from judgment and keep your financial opinions to your own finances.

    ReplyDelete
  86. wow crazy... am surprised people getting so torqued up.

I'm not the earlier poster but I'd love to be able to write off private school for my kids. According to my accountant we can't, but if there is a different way to do it I'd love to know how! googling said no too, maybe its income limits or something?

I'll have to make a call to my CPA though - you guys have me intrigued if there is a way.

    ReplyDelete
  87. ^^^

2008 we could, then in 2009 we couldn't, and in 2010 we could again. Not sure why.

    ReplyDelete
  88. where the f*** is my shipping notice??

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh 7:49! Problems with Bella too? What the hell...hoped that some Canadian had it together! Oh well! I have actually not been to the store though, I could go...it's about 40-45 minutes away, but it's stop and go inner city traffic (no thanks). I have not ordered in a little while but have had no problems before...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Haven't ordered from Stamping Bella in ages mostly because their designs don't appeal to me anymore. Their shipping was amazingly slow and their rewards system was such a scam.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Lil-miss-drama-queen started a thread again to tell everyone she updated her blog. She is so annoying. Why can't she post a link in the 'post here if you've updated your blog' section just like everybody else?

    ReplyDelete
  92. LOL 18:40! I don't even know who you mean since my password for the forum doesn't work and it's a pain in the ass with their 1990's wait for a manual reply way of password resetting! Geez...I'm far from being a computer genius, but how difficult could an IMMEDIATE automated system be? Oh...and then that auto system would free up someone's time for packing shipments and customer service!! What a thought!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Some people want a lot of attenshun @18:40. i guess they got what they wanted :o

    ReplyDelete
