Fresh..... blood. ;)

New space, smackers!

Got a problem still? How's the new CS guy whatshisface making a difference?

$500 and no idea what to do with it? How about give it to charity?

Go ahead and rant on another company, rave for another great one, let everyone know what's hot and what's really not. Hurray? Hurrah? (get it?) To a new post for us!

P.S. PTISmacker3 personally really dislikes the Jane Austen set and just wanted to say it here.

  1. I'm really liking Greeting Farm and Make it Crafty. They're not similar to PTI at all, but I ordered directly from GF and though I wasn't provided with tracking, my package arrived within 3 days of ordering. Make it Crafty was instant download, so can't complain there, lol!

This month was a total PTI miss. None of the stamps appealed and while I like Kraft, I can wait until they perhaps catch my eye with something in a few months. Until then I'm happy to save the money.

  2. I checked my bank account and PTI hasn't charged my card yet.

I liked a lot of this months release, but I don't have the money to buy things because I like it. I have to love it and know that I can use it multiple times. I liked the other elements in the Jane Austen set, but I'm a guy so the sentiments are not something I really relate to. I suppose?

I will also disclose that I love Michelle Wooderson's PL. She makes it look so easy. I liked her release cards as well.

Provo Craft has come up with another underwhelming release this month. Which is good, I think I will spend that on the new MME collections. They look amazeballs.

  3. Thanks for the Greeting Farm recommendation, Aeryn. I see some cute sets I want already!!

Regarding the Jane Austen set, I only like the frame stamp and die-- wish those were available separately from the entire... thing.

I put in an order this month but it was more for inks, ribbons and cardstock (which made it expensive to ship for me :'(!!!)... Maybe they made a crappy release so their anniversary one would look much better? Ha, I don't know.

I ordered with Taylored Expressions and they did take like a week to send my stuff out and I'm not really impressed :|

    ReplyDelete
  4. I liked a lot of odds and ends, too, but not enough to buy anything. It's been a while, and I guess this wasn't the month to break the cycle for me.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Ok, call me cynical, new poster on the forum 'spookiee', had a look at her(?) blog and her hand drawn designs are cute, how long before she releases her own stamp sets?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Does anyone own the two seed packet dies? Do you need both? I'm confused. The dies are probably OOS anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  7. One is the packet and one is the frame. Maybe this will help - http://debbiedesigns.typepad.com/muse_and_amuse/2011/05/papertrey-ink-may-release.html

  12. Back in November Nichole wrote a huge note on the forum about listening to everyones concerns, and that PTI have taken it all on board, blah, blah, etc.
But there are still people waiting on their anniversary sets and no explanation from PTI as to why it is taking so long to send them out.
    Pretty disgusting really.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mmmm....there might be one more person in Customer Service, but that hasn't done anything to fix the underlying problem.

Which is the fact that Julie Heskamp apparently just doesn't give a fuck about her company or her customers.

I emailed CS to inquire about some out of stock dies and, three days later, received an absolutely pointless email from Dave. It was a very KIND pointless email, but pointless nonetheless.

The gist was: sorry the dies are out of stock, but I can't tell you when they'll be in. They should be in within 2 or 3 weeks (even though I want the fucking seed packet and it's been out of stock for months), but that's not certain. You can check our newsletter for up to date stock information, but that's not up to date, either.

So....basically, they paid someone to provide me ZERO information. My question, "when will the seed packet die be back in stock?", remains unanswered.

I've cut back on my PTI spending, but I should just cut back to zero. NONE of the underlying problems have been fixed (mostly because they're all related to that worthless snatch, Julie Heskamp).

The fact that ANYONE is waiting for an anniversary set is just fucking laughable at this point. Those dumb bitches should just send some fucking sets to the people who are still waiting and send them a gift certificate for the hassle.

    Hahahah! That won't happen.

We know "PTI" and "good customer service" do NOT belong in the same sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have been reading the shipping notice thread and I have to say that I thought the shipping problem was getting better after reading all of the glowing reviews last month.I guess not.

It also seems that November to January are bottom of the barrel design wise. I sure hope that February is better because I haven't really liked any of the stamps in months.

On a side note, I do wonder if Dave is replacing Jenn? That would solve nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 19:51, Tammy who? She deleted her post...

    ReplyDelete
  16. P.S. notice now how when someone deletes their comment, the name is removed too? This is new. before the name stayed.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Her name is still visible to me but probably because I had the page open. I'm not going to out her though. Not my place.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Someone needs to tell cknutti that sucking up to PTI won't make her a better stamper.

That bitch is always ready with a hand slap for people who have legitimate complaints.

I hope her next order gets lost and that the replacement is full of defective dies.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm so tired of reading posts that say PTI is a "small company" I call bullshit. Small in relation to a Fortune 500 company, sure. But they aren't small in the papercrafting industry. You see their stuff on page after page in magazines and blog after blog online. "Small" my eye. If they want to be a leader, they need to step up and act one.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The recent talk on the forum about reduced packaging made me wonder more about how the Heskamp side of things.

They're probably double dipping to maximize their share of the profits. PTI's ridiculously excessive packaging is most likely printed and provided by their printing company. Why on earth would they want to cut out a revenue stream that Nichole has no access to? They have to share the stamp profits with her, so my guess is they're being greedy and trying to extract more money from PTI this way.

Also, who says their operations are professional at all? Maybe the Heskamps run their end of the business like a garage operation still. Maybe all their 'employees' are family and friends that they pay through some shady arrangement.

Or maybe the Heskamps are the kind of owners who suck every last cent out of the business so that they can live high on the hog and don't care that they're killing the thing that feeds them.

Either way, I think it's obvious that Julie Heskamp doesn't give a shit about PTI or PTI's customers.

The fact that people are STILL waiting on anniversary sets (with no response from worthless Jenn) would be funny if it weren't so fucking disgusting and disrespectful.

  21. What I don't understand is why they do not seem to ship in order of when the orders were placed. That makes no sense at all. I understand that the release time is the busiest time and that depending on where you live, you might get it earlier or later than someone else but shouldn't the packages be processed IN ORDER?!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree the orders should be processed in order but I think they either over-sell or miscalculate their stock and have to wait for items to be replaced in the wharehoyse before they can fill some orders. That would explain the long shipping times.

    ReplyDelete
  23. *warehouse :)
    my fingers are too big!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Goodbye, PTI radio. No one will miss you. You were a dumb concept.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So I went to check out the Greeting Farm website - and I assume they are ACTUALLY a small company - but man, their website was AWESOME... I dont understand why PTI's SUCKS so bad... If the GF can have an awesome and NAVIGATABLE website.. why can't PTI??

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ted is totally ticked off this month! Haven't seen him like that in a long time. Like how he kept talking about a company in EUROPE! I would assume he means Waltzingmouse. As an aside, I placed an order (East Coast) and got it in 7 days! My PTI order from release night (15 minutes in) has not shown any movement out of Ohio. Just the regular fake shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ^^^^I mean I placed an order at Waltzingmouse and got it in 7 days.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm not 19:51, but it was Tammy Hershberger. And for the record, she didn't say anything bad.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I placed an order with Waltzing Mouse around midnight on Saturday in California. THREE HOURS LATER, I received a shipping notice.

Amazing. I am very much looking forward to Claire's next release.

    ReplyDelete
  30. ^^ Do you know if Claire is doing a February release?

    ReplyDelete
  31. 18:46-I'm not sure why you felt the need to out Tammy, especially since she didn't say anything bad.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I believe Waltzingmouse releases every other month.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm not sure, 6:08. I am fairly new to WMS. Saturday's order was my second from them. I hope Claire has a February release. I think I'm done enough with PTI to cut the cord completely.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 7:45 I didn't "out" Tammy, she did that herself.

    ReplyDelete
  35. According to a post by Claire on FB on 11th Jan...

we have plans afoot, we'll be letting folks know for sure what date it will be soon, but I can tell you February will be......wow!

I for one can't wait, I loved the Christmas release.

By the way, who woke up Little Miss T? She's all over the forum at the moment, she bugs the crap out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Just went to check out WMS for the first time, and all I can say is WOW. I really like their designs. It's a shame that they are UK based, because the USD-to-GBP makes their stamps expensive. At least shipping is free to the US when you spend $50+ GBP ($78 USD), if you don't mind waiting a few weeks. Can anyone comment on how long shipping takes?

    ReplyDelete
  37. And by the way, no one outed Tammy. Her name is clearly displayed to everyone when you're not in comment mode...

    ReplyDelete
  38. 16:08 lol, you're right! I wondered at the difference in seeing the names and not. Makes sense now.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 16.06
I am in Australia and WMS takes about 7-10 days to reach me. Their stamps are fabulous quality, hold ink really well and are easily stored You won't be disappointed.
Their Customer Service is the best ever.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 16:06, I've ordered from WMS several times and my orders arrive in the US in about 7 to 10 days. I once ordered on the weekend and had them Friday, but I don't count on that. Even during a release, Claire's shipping is super fast. No extra packaging either. And her sets are just loaded with lots of stamps. I just love receiving Royal Mail!

    ReplyDelete
  41. 16:06: Even with he exchange rate, WMS' large stamp sets come out cheaper than PTI's; my last order averaged about $23 per set vs. $24 for PTI's sets.

Free shipping to the US from Ireland is a killer deal, too.

I live in California & received my first WMS order in less than a week. I ordered this weekend and my order shipped within HOURS. My last (non release time, btw) PTI order took 13 days to get to me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am the commenter from Australia.
PTI orders take about 4-6 weeks to reach me; and that is not during their release time either.
Other USA stamp companies, ie Simon Says, only take about 2 weeks.
PTI also has the most expensive shipping.
Wonder why I don't order from PTI??

    ReplyDelete
  43. Can't stand *LittleMissT* she is so annoying and yeah bite me for talking about appearances but she looks like a tramp.

Also, everyone who says they love the packaging needs to learn to recycle more. As papercrafters, our hobby already uses A LOT OF PAPER and other stuff that really, let's face it, are not friendly to the environment. For one, I think we should cut down on using things that aren't needed especially all that unnecessary packaging; you're just an idiot if you are aware of the environmental consequences and still 'like unwrapping pretty gifts blahblahblah aww marketing that i am paying for!'. All that tissue paper, while reusable for other crap, does not need to be there in the first place, same for the plastic cases. Sure you can use them again for YES, MORE PACKAGING!!! But how many people do that, and even if they do, it's plastic, it's not biodegradable. It's going to end up in a landfill eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love Jane Austen, but I have a hard time seeing how I would use those stamps. (I only scrapbook; I don't make cards.)

Now the coordinating patterned paper--I would get that, if it were available in 12 x 12. Since it's not, I'm not. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. And she just had to start a new post on the board because she has updated her blog.

You self indulgent twatwaffle, post it on the 'have you updated your blog' thread

Take you and your overly contrasted avatar pic and shove it.

  46. 18:46-I'm not sure why you felt the need to out Tammy, especially since she didn't say anything bad.

  47. LMAO-ROTF! 12:15. Twatwaffle! I can't breathe I'm laughing so hard!

    ReplyDelete
  48. 14:24: I'm not Tammy, and I thought outing her was a dick move, too.

Especially because what she said was NOTHING. She said it drove her crazy that, during her last video, Betsy V. didn't mask the roses before stamping the leaves.

    I agree.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 19:17, HELLOOOOO! Nobody outed Tammy. Her name STILL appears when you are NOT in comment mode. Click into this post and it's still there.

Go ride away on your high horse!

  51. I don't see "Tammy." I wonder why I can't and others can.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The greeting farm's website looks like like Unity's, no?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Why are you guys hating on LittleMissT? (and no I'm not her)

I don't follow the forum that often. Based on comments from the past 2 days, she seems a little full of herself, but no more so than people at 2Peas or SC. I looked at her blog and I like her cards, like the Forever card from the blog hop:
    http://littlemisst-papercraft.blogspot.com/2011/06/papertrey-june-2011-blog-hop.html

    What am I missing?

  54. 8:02 - I'm using Safari to view the comments on this forum. As long as you get out of comment posting mode, I see everyone's full names (that accidentally posted while signed in). Once I'm in "Leave your comment" mode, the deleted comments no longer show the full names of the poster, just "Comment Deleted". Not sure why.

  55. Oooh, ok, thanks!

p.s., I wish blogger had a "Like" feature, like FB... so I could like 10:38's comment.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think it's Little Miss T's avatar that drives me crazy. There is also a Kathy something-or-other (designs by kathy?) whose avatar rubs me the wrong way. I have them both on ignore now though so all is good.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @9:55 - I'm 8:54. OK, I get hating her profile pic. I don't like it, either. :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. WOW - just saw how WMS designs coordinate with Spellbinders dies. It's beautiful. I think I'm going to switch from PTI to WMS now. Thanks for the tip!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Damn, why is it so quiet here?

    ReplyDelete
  60. WMS is a great stamp company. I got a defective stamp and wasn't even aware of it until Claire emailed me. I confirmed the stamp was defective and instead of just replacing the stamp she sent me a whole new set. Can't say enough about the WMS customer service.

Shipping is also super fast to Canada - less than 7 business days for my last order to arrive from Ireland. Plus, its totally reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ooooh, I went out of comment mode and I see Tammy's name too. I was thinking Firefox just wasn't letting me see it but I see now it was my own stupidity. Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Trell, are you a member of the cricut circle? I hope not. That 'exclusive club' sounds like some marketing jack-assery if I've ever heard it. Paying that ludicrous amount of money every year to get an exclusive couple of cartridges and first peaks? Big f-ing deal.

But I'm going to start hanging out at the provo forums, so I might see you over there. Do you go by trell there too?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Provo Craft is not at the top of my list these days. No, I'm not a member of the Circle. That's the biggest load of crap if I had ever heard of any. And the funny thing is some of the women will actually defend paying $70 for "perks and benefits." Bullshit.

Speaking of marketing, PC let go of their entire marketing department yesterday - including the pretty blonde spokeswoman, Jinger.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Terrance = Trell. You all know my government name now.

  65. still.... waiting... for my order..............

Other news- LOVE lil inker designs. go and check them out. they have some awesome dies. I had my eye on the newest release's heart dies but it came with stamps. I emailed the owner and she sold me the dies without the stamps. And the reply was almost immediate. I was totally impressed. They are the company that makes those cloud dies with little dashes around it. Very cute.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Link to lil inkers: http://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/

I don't think they are personally my style, but I like the fact that they sell their dies and stamps together.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh, my order is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It didn't leave Cincy until Tuesday. I think I need to place another one NOW so I will have it before Valentine's Day!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Also, you ladies are rubbing off on me. When talking about Newt Gingrich's wife with my mom tonight I mentioned that she looked like a pearl clutcher. My poor mother didn't understand.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Am I in the minority if I have no desire to post my designs online due to all the possible drama that could follow? It's not that I think I'm so good that people are going to copy me - I really could give a crap. It's that I don't want to deal with the hassle of people saying "You copied so and so" or "So and so copied you". The drama of that is annoying and petty IMO.

I'm getting tired of reading daily posts on forums about someone copying someone else's designs and not giving them credit. Is anything truly original anymore? There are THOUSANDS of paper crafting blogs out there. Do people really think they're the only ones in the world to come up with their concept? If you put fringe on a card and that hasn't been published before...um...shouldn't the early native Americans get credit for coming up with the concept of fringe (or whoever came up with that concept) instead of you? Why are you so brilliant for thinking of putting an already existing concept on paper?

If you don't want someone to copy your design then DON'T POST IT PUBLICLY. If you're not getting paid for your design, then you're probably doing it to show off something you're proud of, which means you're running the risk of copycats in order to feed your ego. That's your fault. But if you are getting paid for your design, then why the hell do you care if someone copies it? You did your job and got compensated for it. You made a conscious decision to put yourself out there for a living. (But my real question is...are you really sure you're the first one to come up with that design?)

I'll be honest...I don't craft for a career, but my job has a large creative component to it. It's understood in my industry that great concepts get recycled. They're called "best practices" and it's a good idea to use them as much as possible because they're so awesome. The people who came up those concepts first are long-since forgotten, their 15 minutes of fame over with decades ago.

Feel free to handsmack me - I'm sure I'm being harsh. I'd appreciate an education.

    ReplyDelete
  70. That's how I feel. People asked if I should watermark my images cos someone could use them for DT subs or something, but I... I don't know. I'm lazy I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ugh. I placed an order this weekend, a whole week after the release, and haven't yet received a notice.

    And your point is?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Is it me or has the PTI website been down since yesterday morning? I haven't been able to load the store page? Could a new website be around the corner for real this time?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Like seriously 12:35...PTI has no intention of fixing anything, cause nothing is wrong (in their opinion!). There is no website coming, don't hold your breath, you'll die! LMAO. Besides, the site is working for me. Sorry to bust your bubble... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  75. I have no energy to respond to Cloiseau on the shipping notice thread. She is just plain grating.
    She still annoys me though.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Trell, I know what you mean. I used "pearl clutcher" in a convo to my husband and had to explain it, but now that he knows we both use it and crack up.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Here is an example of *great* customer service:
Yesterday I ordered two stamp sets from Paper Smooches. I received a shipping confirmation today, followed immediately by an e-mail from Kim (I'm not sure if she is the owner or a CS rep) stating that one of the stamp sets I ordered is backordered, but will be shipping as soon as possible, and she apologized for the delay. I am perfectly happy with that.

Remember when the PTI binders were not "acceptable", and rather than e-mail customers and explain why their packages hadn't shipped, or ship out the boxes and send the binders at a later date, PTI did NOTHING? I'm sorry, but good customer service is about two things: communication and follow through. I'm a tiny bit disappointment my stamp set won't arrive early next week, but I will definitely order from Paper Smooches again because clearly they care for their customers. The e-mail I received was addressed to me by name, it was polite and very apologetic. PTI could learn a few thing from Paper Smooches.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Trell, you said Ginger was pretty. That may be so, but I seriosly think she looks like Shawn Wayans in White Chicks.

So the lazy smackers can compare. And I include myself because I'm pretty lazy too and if someone else made a comparison without a link I wouldn't give a crap. LOL!

  80. Cloiseaux & cknutti moth need a healthy dose of shut the fuck up. I wish them delayed orders, defective product and a PTI 'customer service' nightmare to end all nightmares. Then, I wish for a gaggle of handslappers to chime in and tell those bitches to take their medicine & smile while they swallow. Handslappy crotchwaffles, those two.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm the one who previously commented about ordering last weekend. Just today I got my notice that my package is expected for shipping, but hasn't made it to UPS yet.

    ReplyDelete
  82. So I placed an order for all the kraft ribbons -yeah, I am a sucker for kraft- on the 18th.

Got my shipping notice on the 21st and guess what? A week later and the Post Office still doesn't show it's been received for shipment! WHATEVER PTI!

  83. the PTI frustrations have spread to Splitcoast.

Somebody even checked the better business bureau and there are 4 complaints filed against them. Giving them a grade of F. interesting...

    ReplyDelete
  84. ok ribbon share girl....it took you 2 almost 3 months to order...even though you took their money in November...people haven't yet received their ribbon and you are hosting another share? wtf? first of all that idea was stupid...i'm sorry but she annoys the crap out of me!! how many of you think anyone else is going to sign up?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I placed an order on the 19th and absolutely nothing yet. Today was the 7th business day since my order. Looks like PTI can't even keep to their pathetic extended shipping window.

My fault for giving those assholes my money. It won't happen again.

    ReplyDelete
  86. 22:42, I'll be interested to see if anyone signs up for the ribbon share this month. I hope it is a dismal failure for her only because I think it is a stupid idea.

    ReplyDelete
  87. 20:30 WTF? PTI has a "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau? I am surprised this hasn't been brought up before. That is some serious shizzzzz.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Does anyone know how the PTI DT gets paid? Is it in product or actual $? Is it horrible or average for the industry?

It looks like several of the DT work for other companies. Has this always been the case? I'm curious as to how PTI is doing financially...

    ReplyDelete
  89. I haven't ordered from PTI since October. I have been spending my money on Hero Arts/Paper Smooches instead. I wonder if they miss my $300/month I was spending? It sure doesn't look like they will ever change.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I have no idea if the DT gets paid in cash, but I highly doubt it. Most likely in product only.

As for the team on other teams, that has always been the case. I don't think anyone has ever been exclusive to PTI on their DT.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I find it interesting that PTI is not even responding to the BBB.

    ReplyDelete
  92. count me in as another person who is RIDICULOUSLY annoyed with Ribbon Share Girl (RSG) :-)

If you tie a ribbon around a standard A2 card - horizontally - you would use at least 15 inches. Subtract that from your stupid 1 yard and you are getting like what? 2 cards out of it? DUMB.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I won't even go there with ribbon girl. But it's taking a lot for me not to say something to cknutti. I really wonder if she realizes how condescending she happens to be.

I'm sorry y'all are still waiting. Mine came Thursday.
