  1. Smackers are morons? Well you are a smacker, so I have to agree.

  2. Black Friday shopping at Simon Says Stamps and Impress for me! Lots of great sales everywhere. Except PTI, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I was really hoping Wplus9 was going to have a sale!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Saved $40 at Flourishes Black Friday sale early this morning. 30% off and my package has already mailed. Sometimes you just have to splurge.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I get so annoyed when I see posts deleted from the Papertrey forum for no good reason.

All that SkyNacho said was that she is shopping at stores that have sales.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Really, that got deleted???? That makes no sense. I saw the post. She didn't name names.

PTI, do you think we don't know about other companies' BF sales? My mailbox was full of them.

You got none of my money today, PTI. And I shopped at 5 different crafty online places today - SSS, TE, Impress, Penny Black and Ellen Hutson. Oh, and Avery Elle let me know they credited my account with $5 to thank me for being one of their most loyal customers. How nice was that!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I also took advantage of Black Friday sales today at Market Street, Mama Elephant, and SSS. PTI are such cheapasses.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I spent my money at Ellen Hutson, Impress, and Avery Elle. That, once upon a time, would have all gone to PTI. PTI got 10% from me this year of what they usually get. I am buying 90% of the time with coupon codes these days.

    ReplyDelete
  9. That was beyond ridiculous deleting that comment!!!!!

I spent a little at impress and some silhouette stuff

Probably wouldn't have bought PTI even I there was a sale-didn't get my 'discount' last time there was a sale don't trust them

    ReplyDelete
  10. a low class, petty move. given the sounds of crickets on the forum, anyone who is still posting on the forum should be treated like a welcome guest. If PTI doesn't like a post like that, a member of the paid DT could gently redirect the thread to buying PTI.

It is insulting to have a thread as innocuous as that removed for such a reason. I'm not on the forum anymore, and this is reason #17 that I am not posting there and would never spend a dime on this company.

I've lost respect for everyone associated with this company and frankly, anyone who buys from them. I'm disappointed when I see stampers using new PTI products on their blogs. I've spoken directly with a former DT member who told me that the DT is treated in pretty much the same way as PTI treats its customers. There is one exception and I'm not going to say who the DT member is. She is treated with respect. Everyone else is treated as if PTI is doing them a big favor.

My money goes elsewhere now. There are so many choices.

  11. On Facebook, it was posted that Wplus9 is having a cyber Monday sale!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm sure the exception is Dawn cause she and Nichole ate besties
Although they should also treat Betsy like a goddess she makes them so much $$

    ReplyDelete
  13. does anyone see a connection between the many new clear stamp companies, incuding gina k, and the PTI troubled landscape? I suspect that these companies saw an oppoturnity to get in on some of the action once PTI fucked up.

    am i dreaming?

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is just as possible that other companies saw the success of PTI and the popularity of clear stamps and jumped on the bandwagon then-long before PTI screwed up the empire.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love Barbara! She just posted posted on the thread about the shopping she did!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I wish Betsy would design her own line of stamps (with someone other than PTI, of course). That girl has some talent. Did you see her chalk board art post? She's so crazy good!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I really like Betsy too!

Hey Rick, you'd better delete what Barbara wrote. It's obviously inflammatory.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What did Barbara post??

    ReplyDelete
  19. I did not see anything inflammatory in Barbara's post.

    ReplyDelete
  20. She posted that she did lots of Black Friday shopping and found good shipping deals to Canada.

I was being sarcastic when I said that her post was inflammatory. SkyNacho posted something equally as tame but her post was deleted.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like you Donna.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Can you use the word "fun" 87 times in 2 minutes? This lady can!

    Reminds of of Nichole.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah, the dreaded day every year when I need to write the traditional Christmas letter and outdo the one from the year before. I have set the bar too high.

    ReplyDelete
  24. actually you do not have to write the letter. really.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I feel bad for you if you feel that you have to out do anything. I do hope that you are happy though (no snark).

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have a very caring and supportive family but I am going through a hard time. My Christmas letter would suck.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We have many relatives in their 80's and 90's who live alone and far away who anticipate those letters so much. I cannot disappoint.

    ReplyDelete
  28. So, smackers, is any online company having a Cyber Monday sale? I have been drowning in visitors and did not get to shop yesterday. I am sure that the answer is not "PTI", but I am hoping Impress or Simon Says Stamp have a cyber Monday sale. Studio Calico's Black Friday sale was the only one I checked out, and their version of a "sale" was to charge $6 for tiny stamps.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, Impress is.

    ReplyDelete
  30. relatives in their 80s and 90s would prefer a visit. Take them out. If that isn't possible, a personal letter to them is preferable. My life sucks so I'm no longer doing those letters. But I'll send my aunt a card with a handwritten note sharing the basics and letting her know that I am thinking of her. i won't mention that my husband has a girlfriend.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I truly love getting Christmas letters and am sad that the tradition is dying out. So many people are too busy for the little nice things like sending Christmas cards and letters and all the other little traditions that seem to have been swallowed by our rat race lives.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't even do Christmas cards. Haven't done so in years. I had to give something up, just became so overwhelmed at holiday time. I don't miss the expense or time involved. I send cards throughout the year instead, sometimes for no reason other than to say "hi".

    ReplyDelete
  33. I gave up a few things too. I do about 20% of the baking I used to. People don't need more sugar. Things I will never give up are Christmas cards and letters, my tree, my centerpieces and table decorations and my outdoor lights. We gave up the gingerbread house day when the kids got out of college, although they would still enjoy it. We gave up the Christmas parade and party after. Too cold and too tiring. I don't shop. I do all Amazon gifts or gift certificates or handmade things. .

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm sorry 13:12! That really sucks!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks, it does suck.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am sorry too.

I am also thinking about everyone else that has other circumstances that are making this time of year difficult.

I am personally just waiting for the holiday season to be over because I am having a very difficult year.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh for a return to the days when we took time to send notes to friends and loved ones over the festive season. It is sad that we feel so pushed for time. Why is that so?

I even read somewhere that a children's party isn't a real party without hiring a face painter, party organiser, and maybe a pony for pony rides. Consumerism is a pain in the butt.

For those having a difficult year, my wish is for you to get through this season, remembering that the new year is just around the corner, and hopefully a better year to come.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'd also like to extend my best to those who are currently having a rough go of it. May 2013 bring you and yours good health, and may your fortunes change for the best.

I hope you are able to find some joy in this holiday season. So sorry to hear so many of you are struggling.

    ReplyDelete
  39. This month's blog hop is dumb. A few people tried to make their card look like a book cover but most people just slapped any old ugly card up there.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Since the draw for a prize is random, ugly has just as much chance of winning as a nice card.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Have to agree. The blog hop cards are just ugly and forced.

    ReplyDelete
  42. "I even read somewhere that a children's party isn't a real party without hiring a face painter, party organiser, and maybe a pony for pony rides. Consumerism is a pain in the butt."

Small rant alert: And about children's birthday parties, I would like to add that if I find out which over acheiving mother invented goodie bags I will slap her silly! How this tradition got started is beyond me. We have to pay for the party, buy gifts for our kids AND NOW little gift bags for everyone who is invited (and some don't even show)? This drives me crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  43. You don't have to do it. We had a simple party at home with grandma and grandpa with homemade cake. When they got to school age they could invite one friend to go to pizza with us for their bd. When they became teens they chose a place for a family dinner. They are now in their 30's and we still do the dinner out. Make it what FITS your family.

    ReplyDelete
  44. apparently the PTI blog hoppers don't read too many books

    ReplyDelete
  45. I ordered a bunch of Fresh Ink, and, to be honest, am not overly impressed. I love the colors, but wish the coverage was better. A few of the colors seemed more like dye inks than pigment - the greens, in particular. The coloring was also inconsistent.

I'm a seasoned stamper and really worked with the pads. (Used both clear and rubber, worked the surface of the pads, etc.) I just couldn't get a great, crisp, consistent image out of most of them.

I think I prefer my trusty old ColorBox inks. It seems like they're a little creamier, which allows for more consistent coverage.

I did take advantage of Impress' Black Friday sale, though, and am looking forward to receiving a bunch of dies, stamps and reinkers.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Once you reink them, they are forever consistent and fab coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  47. good to know, 16:39! I hope the reinkers help solve my coverage problems. They've got some great colors.

    ReplyDelete
  48. troll? I was commenting on the lack of creativity in the blog hop.

    ReplyDelete
  49. MIM: yawn. I actually fell asleep, I was so bored.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah. The concept was great but the delivery-and the actual card not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It took her 8 minutes to cut one die cut.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ashley's card looks crooked to me. I didn't watch the video.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wplus9 website is down. Bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  54. 10:05 I think it's the angle. Doesn't look crooked to me.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm impressed with MFT. I placed an order with them late Saturday night, saved 20%, it shipped today, and I'll have it Thursday. Color me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Missed out on the WPlus sale. Site was down. Darn!

    ReplyDelete
  57. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/tool-product-talk-f128/hero-hues-chalk-ink-refills-t545442.html

Hero Arts makes inks without refills? Why would they do that? I won't be buying those!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I was really hoping that Gina K would have % off sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I wanted to buy a bunch of cardstock. The free stamps are not incentive for me as I don't care for any of them.
That's okay. When I'm ready to buy cardstock I will pay full price because the shipping options are great to Canada.

    ReplyDelete
  59. In a moment of weakness I went to the PTI site for the shape-up snowman die. Out of stock. In December. At Christmas time. PTI made it easy for me to not buy anything.

Are there any good alternatives to the snowman die out there?

    ReplyDelete
  60. You dodged that bullet. Sorry, I have no recommendations.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Re:Snowmen dies

Not sure what size you are looking for but both Sizzix and Lifestyle Crafts have snowmen dies.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Where is the best place to find copyright free art? I would like to find some backgrounds that I can stamp on. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I just received my $150+ PTI order (first in many months)... and the Over Under Easy stamp set I ordered is missing from my box. I started a ticket... any bets on how long it takes to get this resolved?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, you ran the risk, didn't you.

    ReplyDelete
  65. did you have a nun witness you opening the box and video it all in real time? otherwise, you are screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Good luck, 17:41. I'm feeling optimistic for you. My money is on 4 days.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Disclaimer: I am new to paper crafts.

I really like how the PTI stamps coordinate with dies - it just works with my design style.

Are there other companies that offer coordinating dies? I just haven't come across many instances of coordination beyond a really basic frame (e.g. nestabilities outline). I know Avery Elle has some cut files and I am trying to avoid getting into SU. Suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  68. hey, I think 4 days is very reasonable. given that this is being discussed here, I think it will be resolved immediately or not at all, depending on PTI's desire to show that it is improving. let's hope immediately. rick, do your magic!

    ReplyDelete
  69. hero arts, wplus 9, memory box are just a few that offer stamps and coordinating dies.

    ReplyDelete
  70. What a bunch of morons! Their ignorance never ceases to amaze me!

We moved to new servers over the weekend and the systems administrator put it in Debug mode for some reason, hence the gobbly-gook Had a bunch of issues with the new servers for some reason and have moved back to the old servers so they can do more testing....

    Sorry for the trouble

    Rick

    ReplyDelete
  71. Moved to new servers the weekend every other craft company was offering sales and deals. Interesting .... PTI priorities.

    ReplyDelete
  72. At least they weren't stupid enough to have their own sale! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I am not a fan of the cards made with Studio Calico products at all.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ordered from wplus9 on Monday and received it today. Now that is fast. I live only a few hours from PTI and it takes DAYS to get to me once it actually leaves PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I just received my $150+ PTI order (first in many months)...

    -----------------------------

Really now....are you sure about that??

    ReplyDelete
  76. so when should PTI move to a new server? when other companies are NOT having big sales? On release night? It was the perfect time to switch servers.

The fact that the site was messed up, though, was typical unprofessional PTI IT crap. Sorry Rick, but if this was the first, second, third, etc time I'd definitely understand. But it is always amateur night at PTI.

  78. Love Melissa Phillips style. The mitten with the layered vellum snowflakes in the MIM is just adorable. Her style has inspired me soooo many times. Just had to say that.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Has anyone ever emailed Flourishes customer service? I did 2 days ago and still no reply.
Wondering if this is the norm for them.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It's pretty slow around here. Does no one have any juicy gossip? I have lots on my son's hockey team (parents that is) but I'm sure you guys don't want to hear that.

Spill it, old gossip? Who did what, when. I'm recovering from surgery and all I can do is lie in bed and read the message boards.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I have not emailed customer service for Flourishes, but I have called them with issues, and they were prompt and very friendly. Try calling them perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Well I've thrown in the towel with the inks. I never had the originals, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I noticed a few "changing colors" on my swatch sheet, but figured ok, one or 2 not going to get upset. Until the other night, I went back to a project i had done about a month ago, and almost all the colors were half changed! Like, I stamped an image, and it was half one color, half a lighter color. I was so pissed. It was an etsy order, and I had to redo the whole thing...using different inks so I guess, the inks are good if you only need them for a week. Grrrr. I just bought a bunch of the new hero hues, going to give those a try.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Someone recently posted that the Hero inks don't have refills. So you gotta buy a new pad each time. Money grubbing if you ask me. But at least they don't change colors! Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yeah I'm ok with no refills. The only pad I've ever needed a refill for was my Tim holtz tea dye, but I use it on everything!
My memento inks and my Tim holtz inks have NEVER changed color.

My only complaint about memento... Anybody have bubbly pads? When I put the stamp to pad on some of them I get lots of little bubbles which sometimes mottled the stamped image....

    ReplyDelete
  85. I've only had that bubbly pad issue with the light grey..(fog??) but I've heard it's pretty universal for that colour

Best ink ever hands down is/was Vivid. It was made by tsukineko (sp?) and was the juiciest most vivid pad EVER
The new MFT ink looks just like it so I'm optimistic....

    ReplyDelete
  86. no gossip here but I can make some up if you are really desperate.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Just got a bunch of black friday sale items today. Interesting thing I didn't see before: for the same price, you can get double the product of Studio Calico's mistables depending on the shape you buy. In otherwords, you get 116 pieces in the sunshine and clouds mistable fabric stickers that cover both the front and back of the sheet, but you only get 53 pieces of the houses/trees set and it only covers the front of the sheet. Guess I need to look a little closer next time. I am not too preterbed, got them on sale, but really, half the product for the same price!

    ReplyDelete
  88. ^^^
understood not one word. what are you going to do with so many of one thing anyway??

    ReplyDelete
  89. This isn't anything, but if PTI was customer service orientated, they too would be mentioned by Zooey from New Girl in People magazine like Lawn Fawn just was.

    http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2012/11/yay-for-lawn-fawn-giveaway.html

    Just saying and just sharing.

  90. no gossip here but I can make some up if you are really desperate.

    30 November 2012 12:38

Go for it, since no one is forthcoming, lets make some stuff up!

PS Where is that chick with the insider info awhile back, true or not she was good at dishing.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I ordered from WMS today and it occurred to me it's been months since I've ordered from PTI or checked their forum. I was curious if things are any different these days, so I checked the last release tech thread. Unbelievable! I just can't imagine that they get so "slammed" that their system can't process orders properly! Other companies have release night events - and have for years - and have no trouble at all. And even if it was quantity, I don't see where that should cause all of the weird problems they have. Large volume could make things run a little slower but not all of these errors and mistakes.

So glad I've given up on this company and will never go through release night stress again. Wow - I can't believe they still have these problems and that people still order from them.

    ReplyDelete
  92. If I start a stamp company, my motto will be "Under promise and over deliver".

    ReplyDelete
  93. Well I just tried to order some October Afternoon stuff at Two Peas and my cart dumped twice and I was getting error messages on items I was trying to view. Honestly it isnt just PTI. Any company can have website issues. I will try Two Peas again tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  94. WMS, Avery Elle and Wplus9 have some great looking product this month.....

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yes, any company can (and will) have website issues.

But not every month, like clockwork.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I need to stop reading stamp/scrap blogs. If I see words like "uber", "scrappy", "fabby", "utterly stinkin' cute" I am going to puke. What is the matter with these women who talk like 5th grade girls about crafting???

    ReplyDelete
  97. I dont have an issue ordering on release night. I order about 40 minutes after the product is released. These days you dont have to worry about something running out of stock.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Avery Elle has new plastic storage sleeves that look promising for those who are interested... I know a lot of people were frustrated that PTI changed to the DVD cases vs. CD cases, then stopped carrying the DVD cases altogether. And the Avery Elle sleeves are 3 for $1.00.

    ReplyDelete
  99. there's a certain style of blogging that cutesy. just like there is smack blog lingo. I abhor it. And therefore, unsubcribed from any blog that has that kind of writing style. or I just look at the pictures.

I order PTI every release within 10 minutes of release time. Call me lucky but I've received every order within 10 days.

    ReplyDelete
  100. 10 days is not lucky with priority mail. 5 days is long, 4 days acceptable, 3 days expected. 2 days is lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  101. My last PTI order arrived in 7 days. The tracking looked like it hadnt left the warehouse.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes, anyone can have website issues.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Only one post on the main forum board in last 24 hours. Pretty pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Or people are busy with their lives

    ReplyDelete
  105. MIM is the most pathetic one ever. Seriously? They made an 8 minute video to show you how to make a glue line and sprinkle glitter on it?

    ReplyDelete
  106. nice try 5:19. they have chased off all the customers that used to be chomping at the bit for even sneak peeks.

    ReplyDelete
  107. 7:24 I can't figure out why every. single. MIM needs to be a technique. Blows my mind. Idiots

    ReplyDelete
  108. An 8 minute tutorial on a glued line of glitter?

    ReplyDelete
  109. "Detail Glitter TECHNIQUE"----lol

    ReplyDelete
  110. When a Gina K post gets 117 responses in a few hours, I doubt the PTI board is dead because people are so busy they are not on computers. Nice try though.

    ReplyDelete
  111. 0725. There you go assuming again and there I go thinking out loud with a comment. I to was only assuming on my part that with the holidays people are busier than at other times. But thanks for the smack down. I wont be commenting here or there.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Well, 8:57 if you managed to get your feelers hurt from that rather innocuous comment from 7:25, it's probably for the best if you avoid posting on the interwebs.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Wplus9 has a sentiment "I Quite Like You" Is that proper English even?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Yes, quite proper.

    ReplyDelete
  117. one of the most interesting things about PTI's business style is how it separated itself from the rest of the industry. There are a lot of companies that co promote and join in on a variety of events. Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner, Julie Ebersole are a few examples of people working the craft industry. PTI is rarely seen as part of anything outside of itself. I think the last thing it did that involved others was the cruise with Gina K and Bella.

The lone ranger approach worked fine when orders were pouring in. Now, however, they have lost so many sales to others, then they should consider waking up out of their shell and reaching out
to become part of the papercraft business community.

When companies in the same field join forces it is a win win for both. I'm not sure that there are any companies that would want to be affiliated with PTI, but if PTI hired a public relations person (so not going to happen) you'd be surprised at the things that could result.

They could also do more to soften their image by taking one set and donating 100% of the sales towards a charity. Even a stamper who is sick could be the beneficiary.

warm themselves up. the ice queens images are not helping.

and it would make them seem human again. hiding behind the paid DT on the forum is just so lame.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Well that will be my last impress order
    Ordered on Black Friday
    It shipped today
    WTF????

    ReplyDelete
  119. Impress is extremely slow if you order during a sale. I placed an order for supplies i needed for an order for baby announcements. They came 3 weeks later, despite my entreaties.

That was my last order. Too bad you cannot get Fresh Inks anywhere else. Other than amuse. I'll stick to amuse before I go back to Impress.

customer service and communication go a long way with me.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Lion Through Their Teeth4 December 2012 at 05:12

That's strange about Impress. I ordered on Black Friday and it was delivered to me (across the country from them) the following Monday 11/26. That's been my experience with them every time I've ordered.

    ReplyDelete
  121. And I'm in Canada

  122. I guess in this day and age when you can get most things instantly, the virtue of patience is lost. I too ordered on Black Friday from Impress and got a shipping notice yesterday. I realize they are not a big online retailer and their main business are brick and mortar stores. I am willing to make allowances for delivery time in this instance, especially since I am sure their volume was increased because of the sale, so for me this was no big deal. I have ordered from them in the past and have always received my order within a reasonable time. They are still quicker than PTI was during release which sometimes took up to 2 weeks!

good ideas, but wasted breathe my friend. As we all know there is soooooooo much more that company could do to be successful but I think they have reached a point where they don't have the desire to be.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I agree
There are ssssoooo many things that they could have done to increase their business and customer goodwill
The fact they aren't doing even the basic-est of those things tell me they are happy with the volume o sales they have now
What they don't realize is that no business can stand still. Eventually what was working 'fine' is not enough and your competition has a great opportunity to swoop in and do things better than you

When they do fail, you can rest assured the blame will also fall elsewhere - economy, this blog etc
When in reality it was their insistence on doing things the same old way

    ReplyDelete
  125. Personally if the ideas and product strike my creativity thats all I care about. The fluff doesnt matter. But of course they need to fix any problems, own up to them and be NICE!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Even small mistakes, if consistent, will hurt their sales
Like yet again, the set they have the DT highlight on the first is out of stock
Eventually annoyances build up to resistance to buying
Or the perception of idiocy starts to turn people off

    ReplyDelete
  127. In the meadow is out of stock? How frustrating!! Why would you highlight a stamp set and then not have enough in your inventory??? I'm sorry, but that is just plain stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  128. They probably wanted to clear out inventory because it is a seasonal set. By creating a fury over it, people will be hyperventilating until they can get their hands on it. The fact that it is out of stock might make it more in demand.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Clearly your ascribing to the PTi marketing theory
That works for the sheeple who will froth at the mouth but the rest of the normal customers will get annoyed and forget about it

You can't rely solely on a small group to suppport your business and the whole creating hype thing is clearly not working for them anymore ( release night threads from 45-60 pages to just 4-5 pages is one example)

    ReplyDelete
  130. The fact that there are so many companies with similar designs and products makes it inviting to hop around without any buyer liability.

  132. I don't buy from PTI so I don't care how they market their products. I was merely offering an explanation as to why they would feature a stamp set without having enough stock on hand.

I didn't say that I agree with it.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Maybe their decisions about which older sets to feature are based purely on which designs they want to work with again, without regard to how many are in stock.

Maybe they select sets that have low sales, thinking they'd like to get them moving again, again without regard to how many are left in stock. Thinking that when their marketing creates an increased demand they will just order more, not realizing that more and more of their shoppers are choosing to go elsewhere rather than wait for a restock.

Otherwise, I can't think of any logical reason for featuring a set that they know is low on stock other than wanting to deplete their inventory. The only other thing I can think of is that they just don't think these things through like logical business owners would. It baffles me. But no longer surprises me.

    ReplyDelete
  134. in case it isn't clear yet, JULIE does not give a shit about PTI's customers even if it means lower sales. Jane goes along with her. Nichole is one vote out of 3 and she's no warm and fuzzy to begin with.

I for one, no longer buy. However, I remain hopeful that PTI will rise from the ashes.

  139. god you guys are petty and lame.

    ReplyDelete
  140. the discussion on why PTI would feature a set that is out of stock was interesting. It assumes that PTI is thinking these things through. I think not. I don't think the the design side of Nichole, who picks the set to feature, is in sync with Julie, who runs the warehouse. That is the bottom line of the mess.

One question. I have not purchased ina very long time and avoid the forum. Does anyone know if customer service problems are now resolved reasonably or do the old problems still exist. I'd like to pick up a few products if things have changed but not willing to risk it otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Dont over analyze it. If ordering the things you want for your hobby is what you want do it. Life is to short! I have never had a problem.

Now if you are overseas I wouldnt eventhink about ordering

Not surprising. Those people ordered after the October release, which was their most BORING release ever. They were probably the only ones who ordered so the shipping department had no problem actually filling orders quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I think Maile might have lost her touch. Her hydrangea stamp set was just meh, and her new ribbon set doesn't look appealing, either. It looks like a mess of lines.

    ReplyDelete
  148. You know a company's shipping times are bad when you totally forget that you ordered something in the first place. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'm cautiously interested in #3 peek, but I'll be watching to see how it looks in in use. It looks very detailed and I'm wondering if it will stamp clearly.

    ReplyDelete
  150. How does PTI go from being out of stock on the "In the Meadow" stamp set a couple of days ago to being in stock today? But other items I've been waiting on (e.g. simple stripes IP) have been out of stock for longer. Nice.

I have said it before here that Leigh is such a fucking cheater with the MIM's and such and she proves it today...she posted all these cards today and entered them for this weeks MIM: glittering technique and she used smooch on them all! I'm sorry, smooch is not glitter, it is a different medium! She even got a 'shout out' on Facebook! Why is it ok for her to half-ass the challenge all the time!?

    ReplyDelete
  170. There's somethjng to be said for innovating a little and participating in a MIM should not have to cause me to spend $20 on glitter if im not a glitter person

However, I've noticed she does tend so stretch the parameters for the MIM quite often.....I think she gets shout outs cause her cards are nice. Have you see some of those entries???
