Happy weekend smackers!

I found a new stamp company http://www.clearlybesottedstamps.com hey! Thought their Christmas set is pretty nice and they marked my package as shipped a few hours after I put it through! Anyone found any new places to shop at? Ordered some of the new Wplus9 as well :) Can't wait to play with new stuff.

PS. I love Fresh Inks too... must... order....

  1. First? Happy weekend smackers!

  2. Those are not snowflakes to me. They look like camera flashes.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Craft's Meow has an excellent release and 15% off all day.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Does anyone know where Wplus9 ships from? Can't find it on the website.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I believe that Wplus9 is in Florida.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'd like to order from Wplus9 as well, but they have even less contact information than PTI does. No phone, no address, not even a real e-mail, just a web contact form.

I've looked at Lawn Fawn as well, but that is the same situation, with the form saying that they will get back to you in 5 business days.

And I just looked at their web site and it says they are not shipping between Oct 4 - Oct 15. Is that a release prep thing for them or just random?

  7. 10:33 Thanks!

  8. What is the smackers opinion of the Spectrum Noir markers? They look interesting but I have alot of money tied up in Copics and I still really like them.

Does anyone know if Noir will blend with Copics?

  9. You can buy lawn fawn at other places such as Oozak or your local stamp store.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Lawn Fawn is at any Craft Warehouse and you can use your coupons!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Does Simon Says send shipping notices?

    ReplyDelete
  12. 13:48 - regarding spectrum noir and copics - they are both alcohol inks so they "technically" should be able to blend together. I think I saw a post by someone several months ago comparing them against each other - smoothness of blending, color range -- that sort of thing. But it did not address using them together. I'll see if I can't find the post for you.

  13. 13:48 - didn't find the post I was talking about, but this might help -

  14. Re: Simon Says, I always receive notification that my order has shipped but there is no tracking information.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Simon Says sells WPlus9 stuff

    ReplyDelete
  16. Simon Says is great IF you don't mind every other order taking about 3 weeks. They also don't tell you what they are out of, so when it does arrive you may see backordered slips on things you expected to be in the box. I use Amazon a lot for stamping stuff and when I cannot, I use Ellen Hutson. If none of those work then I go to Chic and Saavy. After that I go directly to the company.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks to those who have posted alternate sources for Lawn Fawn and Wplus9.

I've ordered from Ellen Hutson with good service in the past and I see she has Lawn Fawn too.

I've heard more negative than positive about Simon Says in more places than here.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am not a fan of Simon Says Stamp. I think their prices are a little higher than other places and their service is not the best. My last order took almost 3 weeks to arrive in California, with no notification from SSS whatsoever. It magically shipped the day after I sent an inquiry about where my order was.

These days, I pretty much do all my online scrapbook shopping at Two Peas.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Same thing. My order from SS shipped the day after I inquired too. Something is off there.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I bought a pack of Spectrum Noir markers last week with a 50% off coupon. The video above indicates that they are blendable with Copics. But after a few days of using them a bit, and though I am far from being a Copic expert, I don't care for the Spectrum Noir markers.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm international and shop with SSS quite a bit. My last order did take a long time to come every other time it was here is reasonable time. I've only ever had one time when something was OOS. There shipping rates are fair and I like SSS because I can pretty much find everything I want there - a mix of brands and products - which saves me a lot on postage in the long run as I don't have to do multiple orders from lots of different places.

I'm sure there are many other options for US customers - just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Awdml.com has both Lawn Fawn and Wplus9 stamps. They are also having a sale this weekend. Dies and stamps on sale, plus 6x6 paper pads are on sale too. Just check out their blog for their sales this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 19:24, my sympathies for the added cost and delays that purchasing as an international entails.

American crafters are VERY spoiled when it comes to online options.

I will still pout over a 3 week ship time, though, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  24. 3 weeks to international isn't too bad but I wouldn't be that impressed if I was in the US either :P

    ReplyDelete
  25. Same here - international also. But I have never had to wait more than 2 weeks for a package from SSS. And I agree you can buy lots there without additional postage from various companies.
Luckily here (in Aust) a few shops stock Lawn Fawn - the price is the same ($15) and I can get about 3 sets for less than $2 postage. Pleased about that. Love LF.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I haven't been here in several weeks, so my apologies if this is old news, but anyone shopped from Avery Elle's cardstock or ribbon?

    http://www.averyelle.com/

    ReplyDelete
  27. When I was at my local Jo-Ann store last week, I noticed they had the Spectrum Noir, but I didn't buy any. I think it all depends on what YOU want. They are not going to give you Copic quality blending, but they also are not priced like Copics.

I was content to continue buying and using Prismacolor markers until I tried Copics. I think Prismacolors are fine, but Copics are superior.

    ReplyDelete
  28. the spectrum noir reviews on SCS are a joke -- read between the lines and the ladies hated them.

i will not spend 8 for a marker, whether it last 1 day or a 100. Too many colors and the price just isn't worth it for the crap i make. pencils are fine and i just keep the copics i already have and buy more inks as they dry out

    ReplyDelete
  29. Spectrum pens are just OK - they don't have the brush nib like Copics - they have a pointed nib at one end and broad solid tip at the other. I have a few warm greys and they are OK for outlining - and for fine drawing/filling in a small area. Also have a red and green one one suitable for coloring in holly and berries etc but that's about it.
So, they have their purpose but are definitely NOT going to to give you that beautiful 'brush' blended look of a Copic.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have seen demos of Prismamarkers and they blend but nothing like the Copics. I dont see the $8 a marker lasting. Something new will come around or the price will drop. Crafters helped the demand for markers and that will stop with that ridiculous price

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes, I have 22:16. And I have more coming with my most recent release order. Her ribbons are very nice.

I like my Copics and don't see a need for another line. The colors I currently have meet my needs. If new colors come out at the $8 price and they match my cardstock, I'll buy selectively.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I bought a pack of 6 different color alcohol based markers at Dollar General for $2.00 and they color beautifully. Bic Mark-its and Sharpies work great as well. You don't have to spend a fortune to achieve great coloring results. You do however need to posses fairly decent coloring skills.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Isn't October supposed to be some sort of a big deal for PTI?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nichole: spelling lesson for today is pine cones, not pinecones.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nichole: grammar lesson for today is "those who" not "those that".

    ReplyDelete
  36. Has anyone ever taken a class from Christy Tomlison? I LOVE her ideas..but her spelling and grammar KILL me. I was wondering if her classes are all videos or if some of it was in a pdf? If it is written, I am not sure I could take all the bad grammar and deciphering of the spelling..especially if I paid for it LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love her art, but I cannot "bare" (lol) her spelling.

    ReplyDelete
  38. AMEN! It drives me batty. It is like reading something my 8yo has written LOL. I have a degree in art but took a LONG break while my kids were small so I love her combination of materials and ideas but WoW on her blog. It is so unprofessional it is off-putting to say the least. Not to say I don't have typos..etc from time to time but that is the great thing about spell-check. She needs a copy editor or something.
I also like some of Jennifer McGuire's stuff but her perfect life and perfect kids and perfect vacations and perfect home..blah blah blah are a total turn-off for me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. OMG, I had never visited Christy Tomlison's blog before. Couldn't get through 2 paragraphs. Not my style, but even if it was, the grammer and spelling would turn me away.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Some brave soul should let her know. She is an amazing artist and missing opportunities because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. yk, I have read her blog for years off and on..and I remember seeing her make a post about "someone" telling her about the mistakes and she didn't care!!!! "it is the way she talks" and I got the impression she couldn't be bothered with all of the grammar issues in the world. Kind of sad..she has a lot of kids..I wonder if she cares about THEIR grammar and spelling?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Is there someway someone could anonymously link her to this blog via her comment section. It would actually be a kindness.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It probably took more time for you to post your request for a link to Christy Tomlinson's blog than to google "Christy Tomlinson's blog."

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm all for people using their blogs in whatever way serves them best, so stream of consciousness writing is just peachy if that's what Christy Tomlinson wants to do. However, if someone wants me to spend my money to have them communicate with me (and teaching me something definitely falls under that category), then they'd better be able to communicate effectively. Having looked at her blog and found at least ten glaring typos and grammar errors in the first post I read, there's no way I'd give her a cent. Fortunately, her stuff isn't my style at all, so no big loss.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am more of a visual person. I look at their artwork and save the images if I need inspiration. If I want more details I will speed read the information. Other than that I dont waste my time critiquing the writing. I would rather be crafting in my spare time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ugh, 15:03, I'm sure you had fun being all handslappy and everything, but you totally missed 14:37's point. Try reading it again, very slowly this time.

    HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I thought the same thing .... she didn't ask for the link, she asked for someone to anonymously link this blog to hers, in order for her to read about how much her grammar and spelling are potentially affecting her business.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm going to the Bahamas in a month and I should not be ordering anything, but I caved and ordered from WPlus9 tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Benn browsing wplus9 as well but am saving my $$$ budget for PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  50. ^^^oops that's "been"

Have a wonderful time Trell! The beaches are amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maybe you could save your $ for a spelling teacher, uni.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm jealous, Trell! Less so after re-reading your post. The first time I read it I thought you were going FOR a month!

    Enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  53. When Lauren Meader was with PTI, her blog used to drive me insane. Every time she had a plural, she would use an apostrophe (new stamp set's this month, look at these color's on these card's).

    ReplyDelete
  54. LM has always come across as snotty to me. Maybe she doesnt mean to be that way but if you ever question her about anything SHE IS ALWAYS RIGHT and you must be incorrect or not understanding.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I never got that vibe from Lauren at all. She seems like a very nice person who has had her share of challenges.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I enjoyed her projects when she was on PTI DT and have been on her mailing list since starting her own company. Never once have I clicked on any links to see her products. She went from being one of my favorites to holding no interest for me whatsoever. I do agree that she seems to be very confident and that probably comes across as arrogance at times. Not knowing her personally, I couldn't say which it is.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Considering this is the anniversary celebration at PTI, the stamps sets don't look like much.

    ReplyDelete
  58. 17:55 - What anniversary? PTI's anniversary celebration is in February. Am I forgetting something?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I thought February was the anniversary month too.

    ReplyDelete
  60. My bad. Half-heimers. February is it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 22:16 I purchased an Avery Elle sample pack of cardstock and it is very nice and similar to PTI in thickness. Their white makes all the other white cardstock I have seem grey/dingy now. I will definitely be ordering more. I don't have any ribbon so can't comment on that. Their stamps are really nice too.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I have not seen a stamp so far in the sneak peeks that even remotely interests me.

I also don't need anymore Christmas stamps so if that's all that comes out this month and next, I will be safe.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Trell said: When I was at my local Jo-Ann store last week, I noticed they had the Spectrum Noir, but I didn't buy any. I think it all depends on what YOU want. They are not going to give you Copic quality blending, but they also are not priced like Copics.

I was content to continue buying and using Prismacolor markers until I tried Copics. I think Prismacolors are fine, but Copics are superior. "

Trell, it doesn't sound like you actually used the SN markers (unless I missed something), so how do you know they won't blend as well. I've seen some videos that look like they blend at least as well.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Papertrey stamp designs are officially stale. Nothing they're doing excites me anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree, mostly stale. Boring. Uninspiring even to the dt apparently based on the last year.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm so bored with all the stamp companies. Same old same old. Rinse and repeat.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I'm bored by most of the stamps I've seen lately, too. That could have something to do with my giant stash, though ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I liked this week's MIM. Ashley is talented.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yeah.. I third the sentiment. The similarities between companies are so depressing. I wish they'd come out with original stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Please don't say you're "safe." It hurts Nichole's feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Okay I guess I think Ashley is talented enough as a designer but Holy Moly I can't stand to sit through 20 minutes of her showing us how to make a card! I wish she'd edit her MIM vids down to like about 10 minutes. We don't need to see every little step in real time.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Even 10 minutes is too long for me, unless it's a technique video. My attention span can't handle more than about 3 minutes tops.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I am not so safe. I liked the stripes, sentiment set and the tbf set. I like the oval tags and pine cone set too but am thinking I might already have too much Christmas stamps in my stash. Will see if the DT tempts me. Lol!

I like Ashley's MIM card. The insides are pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have far too many Christmas stamps. There is not much that would make me want to buy. I have enough Halloween stamps to make cute decorations and I also have a number of Valentine's Day stamps. I can see being safe until well after February.

The sets that I really like are the themed ones. I love the jar series and the camera and strawberries but even though I have them all, I barely use them. I have learned to watch the for sale board for the things that I think I have to have.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Does Wplus9 do fake shipping notices? It seems I got one.

    ReplyDelete
  76. fffffffffzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    ReplyDelete
  77. What do you mean by fake?

    ReplyDelete
  78. shipping notice but no movement in 2 days.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Ordered WPlus9 the morning of the 5th. Received order today, the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  80. She was going to ship them yesterday, but it was a Postal Holiday. Which is absurd. Columbus day is totally ridiculous, but I digress.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I ordered on the 5th too. I forgot about the postal holiday. Just have to be patient.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ordered WPlus9 on the 5th and received my package today (in NC).

    ReplyDelete
  83. PTI day 1 previews... Really love Betsy's work!

Love the over under easy set. I'm surprised I liked the modern snowflakes cards by NH and BV. Of course, the M&H dies are going in my cart.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I really like the snowflakes. But not as snowflakes. I'm seeing suns, fireworks, and modern flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I actually think Nicholes Hanaukah cards are done of her prettiest work in a while

    ReplyDelete
  86. Another new stamp company- http://mamaelephantblog.com/

    ReplyDelete
  87. 6:06 I agree...I was blown away by Nicholes Hanukkah cards!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I need the stripes and the snowflakes (that don't look a bit like snowflakes). Versatile. I hate the new pattern pack colors. I was hoping for some good ones this month.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Beautiful work today

    ReplyDelete
  90. I agree, I'm not Jewish and don't know anyone Jewish so I won't be buying the stamps but I really like them and Nichole showcased them awesomely! I'm really impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeah those are not snowflakes, they'd be better suited for 4th of July

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thanks for the link to Mama Elephant. They've got some nice designs!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I like the new diagonal impression plate, but won't order it because of that whole sunrise debacle.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Why the hell can't Nichole use spell check? "Trinagles" was typed not once, but a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Cute stuff at Mama Elelphant. I like the snowglobe set & the travel set. I tried to order, but it wouldn't go through. I'll give them another chance after a while since it's the grand opening. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that 5 years in I won't be experiencing the same damn glitches.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I placed an order successfully with Mama Elephant an hour or so ago. I had to switch from Firefox to Explorer to do it. For some reason, Paypal is not working for me with Firefox all of a sudden. I've had this problem with a few purchases this week, regardless of where I'm shopping.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thanks, 8:45. I was using Firefox. I'll try later on using either IE or Chrome. I don't think I've made any Paypal purchases so far this week. I know last week, I didn't have aaaany problems with Paypal/Firefox. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  98. 8:55, is Paypal just giving you a "your last action could not be completed" or something like that when you click "continue" after entering the email address and payment amount? If so, that's exactly what it's been doing to me, and switching browsers worked wonders.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks 8:55, tried it in IE and it worked.

    ReplyDelete
  100. ^^^I meant 8:45/8:58.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Switched browsers still didn't work for me

The sets are cute and id love to purchase, but dOnt have time to be this aggravated over stamps!! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  102. Ok-got it to work
It was easy this time, and I'm really excited about the two sets I got Good times and We click

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm really liking the new company mama elephant. such fresh designs!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Oh great now were going to get accused of all being the same person shilling for mama elephant!! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  105. Jennifer McGuire owns it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Gonna order the Mama Elephant strips instead of the new PTI ones.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Secretly 18:12??
Cause it seems to be owned by krissy Ng

    ReplyDelete
  108. 18:12 - Jennifer does NOT own this new company, her friend Kryssi Ng does. She clearly states in her opening sentence. And if you saw any of the hop, everyone in it congratulates Kryssi.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hmm...it does say co-owned though....but not with who??????

    ReplyDelete
  110. Jennifer is neither owner nor co-owner. The co-owner was named somewhere but I don't have time to dig it up. She was not a recognizeable name in the stamping world.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Co-owner is mentioned as Angela.
Angela is a designer. She did not participate in the blog Hop nor is one able to access any info about her on the Mama Elephant Blog.
    Could be a decoy.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yes, I am pretty sure it is Jennifer in hiding.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I find the mama elephant sets cute, but what size are they? Am I missing that somewhere?

    ReplyDelete
  114. They appear to be the standard 4x6 sizes based on the sneak peeks Kryssi had posted on her blog earlier, not exactly sure though.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Day 2 of the countdown and I have to say I am loving most of Nichole's projects this month so far. And I don't always like the way she puts her sentiment stamps together but I am quite smitten by the over under easy set.

So... who still thinks this is PTI's last month in operation?

    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  116. I agree that many of Nichole's projects have been impressive. I'm another one who likes the look of the Over Under Easy set.

    I still don't get that pseudo-snowflake set of Maile's.

    ReplyDelete
  117. What the heck is up with all the strange, really strange color combos on the cards of many of the dt today?

    ReplyDelete
  118. They still can't get it together though...Nichole used Nativity Silhouettes today...there are only 33 in stock
    WTF

    ReplyDelete
  119. I believe there has always been a strategy each release to get people to order a second time to pick up what they could not get release night. If you have been watching, they use sets that are nearly out of stock as one of their examples, creating desire for it. It is a well known marketing technique. I think that Nichole attended some marketing classes at one time. I think she talked about it in her blog years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I find it interesting that Maile, a Sr DT, didn't use any PTI inks in her post today. I would have expected that NH would have a rule about non-competing products.

    ReplyDelete
  121. If you like the "knit" stamps, get yours at WMS. They are a better layout than the PTI ones.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I just took a look at the "knitted" stamp you mentioned at WMS. Out of stock.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Just noticed that Wplus9 has their "knitted" stamps in stock and available...

    ReplyDelete
  124. To the person that asked about Avery Elle cardstock & ribbon... The cardstock is fantastic, similar in weight to PTI but SMOOTH! I also bough some of the cream grosgrain ribbon and it's great too! Way better than any of the PTI ribbons!

    ReplyDelete
  125. How's the WPlus9 cardstock, anyone??

    ReplyDelete
  126. Where is the PTI smack blog? Gee, I thought this was it. Looks like it's just a prime advertising site for every other stamp company out there. I see there's another PTI wannabe. And you all say you're looking for something original. Yeah, right.

    ReplyDelete
  127. So all stamp companies are pti wannabes now? Hahaha you're a MORAN!

    ReplyDelete
  128. " I think that Nichole attended some marketing classes at one time. I think she talked about it in her blog years ago."
    -------------------
I remember this. It was in the very early days. NH used to recommend the books she was reading and there was definitely a theme: marketing / powerhouse women / climbing the business ladder -type books. Martha Stewart is (or was) her idol. Ironically, I know people who have met MS and say she is a real B.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Careful if everyone wants to be like PTI. It must be a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Another PTI wannabe is right. Mamaelephant is just a take on PTI stamps but not as good.

    ReplyDelete
  131. 12:41 Like the old saying goes, imitation is the best form of flattery. Nothing I've seen so far measures up to PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I actually prefer the look of MamaElephant stamps, they 're trendier, just my opinion. what floats my boat might not float yours. Its cool.

    ReplyDelete
  133. more in crowd stuff

    ReplyDelete
  134. I took a look at the mama elephant site. Nothing really grabbed me because the designs are nothing spectacular. They don't interest me at all. It's true most companies are PTI wannabes and must sorely lack something because they don't make me buy like I do PTI stuff KWIM? I don't know what it is either. I am not trying to be snarky, just being honest.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Every stamp company out there short of SU is a PTI imitator. Monthly release, count-down, sneak peek, ribbon, design team, blog-hop, paper, ink, dies, on and on and on. ALL NH inspired ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Oh my god 15:37 really??
Nichole invented DT's and blog hops??

Are you delusional?? DT's were originated by manufacturers, and the rest of your claims are to laughable to address
PTI did not invent anything...except sheeple like you

    ReplyDelete
  137. 15:37 I was just thinking that awhile back. Seems there are a lot of companies doing countdowns now too. I remember when PTI started with the countdowns, colored papers (aqua mist and spring moss) ribbons and buttons. Boy, that was crazy buying for me! PTI is a great influence, made a lot of things popular, (minus CS department lol) in the stamping world in my opinion. They were the first clear stamp company for me too.
I agree with your post except the DT part, I think it existed before PTI. Not sure about the blog hop though. Did high hopes rubber stamps have blog hops?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Yeah, they want to be like PTI so much they are all copying the shitty customer service that PTI excels at.

    Oh wait. No, they're not.

    ReplyDelete
  139. But the colored papers and matching embellishments didn't start with PTI either. Those were common with home sales companies like SU and CTMH before PTI even began. PTI just made them easier to acquire because you could then order directly without having to mess with a distributor.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Nichole was a big SU demo

So obviously the matching papers and embellishments came from there

They did quite a few things first to be fair..dies, calendar products, and they may have been first to do the CD storage thing..but they re-invented the wheel
    They didn't invent it

    ReplyDelete
  141. Nope, Spellbinders did the dies WAY before PTI.

  142. PTI is the most innovating paper crafting company in the industry. Its marketing, designs and products are often imitated.

It is truly a shame that the company is also mean spirited, lazy, and distrustful of the public.

    I'll do without it.

    ReplyDelete
  143. True, 19:57, but I am pretty sure that PTI was the first to have dies for their stamps.

    ReplyDelete
  144. ^^^I agree

It doesnt matter who copies who but it is making them money. Yes fall is apples and Christmas is gingerbread, but they are still often almost identical with a slight chnage in desiign

    ReplyDelete
  145. this months release *snore*
I can finally say I am off the PTI bandwagon.....and i would have given them another go had they not screwed me over with shitty attitude and terrible CS

    ReplyDelete
  146. Thank you, 20:02. That's it exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Well, they still have me snagged with their designs. Very nice cards by NH today. I was wowed by the winter hills card. Believe dies going in my cart. It'll be great to use my old stamps for this Christmas. Knit set going in my cart too... Love the striped knits. This is not good for me. :(

    ReplyDelete
  148. Two LOL's about Melissa Phillips' first card on her post today. Which I like, I just find a couple of things funny about it. First, does that BasicGrey paper already have the letters "MP" in it or did Melissa add her initials smack dab in the center of her card? (Okay, almost the middle.) Second, her santa has no hands! I guess it's so cold out, "significant shrinkage had occurred." hee hee Yes I'm a dork.

    ReplyDelete
  149. You made me go back and look :) The MP might be a print on the paper? Don't have it so I can't check to be sure. As for Santa's hands, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. Maybe in his pockets? Sharp eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  150. So I'm really late to the MFT bandwagon, but seeing today that they are coming out with a 3x4 die that I can use for PL, how are their dies and stamps? I also like the stamp set to go with the 3x4 die and the december set.

If I'm ordering anyway, should I try their paper? I'm way out of the loop here so hoping for soem replies.... I'll go back to previous smack posts too, but thoughts would be appreciated. thanks.

the only online company I have ever ordered from is PTI so this is branching out for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. 5:18, that's the way the Santa in the Believe set is designed. He really doesn't have any hands. The little stamps (star, wreath, dove, etc.) were meant to be put in that space as if he's holding them. It does look strange not to have anything there.

    ReplyDelete
  152. 5:44 MFT's dies are just like almost everybody else's dies. Same manufacturer/quality.

I love MFT's cardstock. Most of it is rebranded Poptone CS. Just a smidge lighter than PTI's. There are some holes in the color selections, but they are starting to add to it with Steel Grey last month & the new navy blue coming with the release next week. I don't think that the newer colors are Poptone, or at least not in the color list I've seen.

  154. So I actually think some of the PTI posts this month are pretty cool, but I think it is interesting that there isn't really any posts about it. Ther eis a new favor tray post and the hanukkah post, but that's about it.

Usually there are way more posts. You think people aren't interested, or just have given up on the forum?

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'm liking the pinecone stamp and dies but they aren't very versatile.

Several reasons, all repeatedly mentioned here but what the hell:

    1. PTI's customer service issues have driven away many long time posters.
    2. the smack blog jumps on a lot of folks who post and look "too friendly" towards PTI
    3. PTI's forum policies are tiresome, rude, and annoying. Fake happy talk from what's left of the DT willing to get paid for asking questions like what do you wear when stamping sympathy cards?. Banning any criticism rather than addressing it head on.

so lots of blame/credit to go around.

    ReplyDelete
  157. yeah but even compared to last months... there are no "what are you getting" posts, there was usually a post per day in general for people to gush about the new stuff... not seeing that at all. Just a little weird. I know their CS sucks, but those posts have still been there.

As for the pinecone set, I really just want the sentimetns.... I like the font and the phrases but have no need for pinecones... I wish they would split this stuff up more but oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Or maybe there is more crafting and less posting. The holidays are approaching. No need to analyze it to death.

    ReplyDelete
  159. ^^^ exactly. I hate it when people analyze things to death.

    ReplyDelete
  160. ^^^the same can be said for you. If there wasnt any analysis then there wouldn't be anything for you to read, duh!

You are so full of it with number 2. Please show me where the smack blog has jumped on people who are commenting on the sneaks.

    Please.

  162. the smack blog is eebil. it must be true. an anonymous post on the interwebs said so.

  163. There is one change at PTI that I like - far more $5 and $15 sets and fewer $24 ones.

    ReplyDelete
  164. ^^^ I appreciate that too.

    ReplyDelete
  165. PTI has made so many improvements over the last 3 months. I am tempted to buy again and take my chances.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I ordered from Mama Elephant on Wed afternoon. I received my stamps in todays mail. Not bad for a brand new company.

    ReplyDelete
  167. ^I have been thinking that too. But I don't think I would do it during a release. I'd wait till the end of the month.

    ReplyDelete
  168. OMG. I love Nichole's cards today. Love.

The snowdrift card and the pine cone card are particularly beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  169. 9:55, LOL. I'm the one who posted that she liked the pinecones. I just want the images; I don't need the sentiments. Too bad we are anonymous. I'd love to do a split.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Several things:
    1. There are only 39 Believe stamp sets in stock. SMH.
    2. I love Melissa Bickford's stamps - always have. But I'm tired of the same...old...font.
    3. The same is true for Dawn's font choices. Tired of them. All the sentiments look the same for both her and Melissa.

    ReplyDelete
  171. 1236 duh. How about speculating on facts instead of what ifs? I come here to read facts not bitchy theories.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Loving my Wplus9 stamps. Still loyal to PTI though.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Maybe people are still buying but don't bother posting on the forum anymore. Not all people in the forum are friendly, they're not bitchy... Just not friendly. Um, you know when you post something there and you feel like you're the only one there? They skip over you. That's happened to me several times so I've stopped posting but am still a PTI customer.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I have noticed that the pinecone image that PTI is releasing is very similar to a free printable image I found on pinterest.

    http://www.coloringpages.us/pinecone-540.gif

    Do you agree?

    ReplyDelete
  175. ^^^yes it is very similar. Too bad it's not a stamp.
Did you really go through all that trouble to find it or did you just come across it? Curious question not trying to be a snarky one.

    ReplyDelete
  176. 22:24. Its like you are butting into a private conversation on the PTI board if you are not one the regular posters.

    Honestly I miss Ted.
