  1. Heloooooooo! Good Morning

  2. To 4:32 of the previous post:
I found the similar pinecone on a pinterest board.

    http://pinterest.com/pin/136022851216670168/

To me, it looks almost like a copy of the PTI new stamp. I know it happened before.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Can you only imagine how hard those knitting rows would be to line up?

    ReplyDelete
  4. What do you expect from a pine cone stamp set? They are pine cones. How unique do you want them to be? How can someone put a unique twist on them?

I don't understand why you keep coming back to tha?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Damn PTI and the tags. I love tags. I don't make a lot of cards, but I do make a lot of tags for myself and my friends. I want them but I will resist. Cristina K did great Hanukkah cards, too. And why the diff in Hanukkah/Chanukkah? Is it preference or is there a reason for both spellings? No snark in my question. I'm a WASP and so I really don't understand the diff.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't come back to the pinecones, I answered to a previous poster. What I don't like is that a designer copies an image and sells it with her name.

It seems that is not possible to say anything here, some people think that PTI is a small creature that needs to be protected. I think PTI will gain more respect if they stop releasings tons of stamps per month instead of taking time to release more unique and original images.

  7. Why oh why must Heather use Kraft on every. single. project. she makes? SO BORING! Try something new! I like some of her stamps sets, but I am so over her samples.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think Heather is so sweet too, but I am with you on the "kraft-overuse" issue. :) It would be so refreshing if she "mixed it up" a little with color. But that is her style, and she IS true to it, I have to admit!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Her style, okay, but sometimes it seems more like a straitjacket.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Her cards are so brown and green and dull looking. I love the rustic influence, but her cards look like part of a camoflauge jacket. Nothing cheerful about them. I wonder how her house is decorated.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'll bet her house is monochromatic (lots of earth-tones), and has the "cabin" style that is popular in the mountain tourist areas (ie. the carved bears, antler chandeliers, etc.). This style is prominent where I live, and it does get tiresome. Also, the walls are all tan. It's pretty, but it can all look the same unless you add some "pops" of color here and there.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I love and have the ski-lodge look. I have wood floors, 18 foot beamed ceilings, lots of wood and antiques, but I also use healthy doses of maroon, black, and blue tile and area rugs and furniture. I also have all the bedrooms in yellow. I hate the all brown look.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't know if the knitting rows would be hard to line up or not. The notches seem like they would make it easier. But, I LOVE the way Nichole used them on her mitten card today to gradate the colors from aqua to purple. Being able to do that would make having to fuss a little to line up the rows SO worth it to me.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am with all of you... having a "style" is fine (I think most of the PTI DT members have a distinct style), but Heather doesn't have a style. She has a color: Kraft. ALL of her cards have Kraft on them, and a majority of her cards are 80% Kraft.

    ReplyDelete
  15. never ceases to amaze that you can come here and trash a card maker and include trashing your imagined ideas of what her house looks like. shut the fuck...

    and to this person:

    "Anonymous said...

this sounds hideous. maroon, black and blue is a terrible color combination especially for something permanent like tile.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wait. 14:45, you come here to hand slap the smackers for "trashing" what someone's house looks like, and then YOU DO THE EXACT SAME THING?????????

    ReplyDelete
  17. The black and blue are in dfferent rooms, fool.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Black tile in the bathroom. Blue area rugs and maroon accents in the family room. Black and white tile squares in the laundry room. Maroon leather furniture throughout. Blue tile in guest bath.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I wonder if the DT is expected to produce examples in a given style. There are diverse examples from them. Layers, simple and so on. Selected for their style and expected to stay with it?

    ReplyDelete
  20. yes, I did the exact same thing. the whole point was to do the exact same thing so that the trasher would see what it feels like.

if you were ever bullied you would know why I did it, fool.

and sorry, your house does not sound nice. maroon leather furniture? pardon me while I time travel to the 80s.

don't come on a smack blog and insult people. if you do, you will get it back in spades.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It may be 80's to you but is an almost exact replica, although much, much less pricey, of Bill Gates family room.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Actually I have been bullied, 'fool', and you *still* did it again! You can't have it both ways. You can't say someone is not allowed to say we don't like someone else's style, and then think it's okay for YOU to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. But 16:16 is a speshul snowflake. It's different when she does it.

And don't get me started on dragging out the over-used "bullying" cry.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 14:15 I love the colors on the mitten card too. I was imagining adding a mitten with cream and red accents on it. Snowflakes gonna be red too.

Thank you to the poster (from previous thread) who replied and mentioned it was like "interrupting a conversation" in the PTI forum. That was perfectly said.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You know, this reminds me of this one time when I was at a picnic and there was a girl in line for the food who was fussing and hitting another kid, and her mom whapped her on the head and said, "don't hit!"

It's kind of ridiculous to try and make someone change a behavior by using it on them. I get that you think using bullying on a bully may make him/her realize that it's not fun to be bullied, and maybe they'll want to stop it... but really all it does is spread negative feelings around even more and nobody will want to do what you want them to do if they are mad at you because you were being mean.

    ReplyDelete
  26. get what you are saying. it does spread negative feelings around. don't expect Mrs. Gates to get it, but some others might. but i give you the point.

the difference between attacking a smacker and attacking someone who just makes cards seems obvious to me, i've made my point, i shall retreat....

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did Ted leave after Nichole was so rude to him on the forum?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ted was around for a little while after Nichole was rude to him - didn't post much tho, and now he seems to have moved on. Can't blame him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Looks like little miss "nobody posts at the forum anymore because mean smackers mock them" couldn't find proof for the accusations she was making.

You're a drama queen and a liar. How awesome for you.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "I wonder if the DT is expected to produce examples in a given style. There are diverse examples from them. Layers, simple and so on. Selected for their style and expected to stay with it?"

I have wondered the same thing...especially Heather and Melissa. I love what they do (so back off hand-slapping mean bully that hates bullying!) but they really do stick with their style and really never branch out. I think it's a real possibility that they have to create within the parameters given them by Nicole. And to be honest, the design team as a whole is so successful, it just might be a smart decision. All of the style bases are covered, so to speak.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Kind of does make sense. They hit all tastes and keep a good variety and balance. Also keeps dt from having too similar results with a set.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree. Never thought of it before, but it makes sense. Their styles never imitate each other, which is good.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If that's the case, it would seem moot for me to keep wishing Melissa B do more nice samples to sell her stamps. :(
After viewing her blog, I always end up with "that's it?" Oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  34. But then again maybe they each just REALLY like the style they use and use it exclusively of their own volition. I never see Melissa do anything other than her signature shabby style no matter which company she is working for. If she did I might cry because it is what I love her for and she is my favorite at it and I never want her to change it. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  35. And see, isn't it nice that a nice variety of styles are represented so that we can all get what we want. haha

    ReplyDelete
  36. ooks like little miss "nobody posts at the forum anymore because mean smackers mock them" couldn't find proof for the accusations she was making.

You're a drama queen and a liar. How awesome for you.

    13 October 2012 21:06

yup, I'm a drama queen all right. and right after you posted this someone asked about Ted. And how about Leigh? slammed here because she posts on the forum.

i could go on and on but I'm practicing for my next play.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ted stopped posting because NICHOLE was mean to him, dumbass.

And please show me where Leigh said she stopped posting because of the smack blog. Also, please point me to the posts mocking Leigh.

You are full of shit, honey. All of your juicy little tidbits are nothing but conjecture.

Get over yourself and go slap hands elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 0144. You are right. Leigh was slammed here by someone saying she was trying to get a DT position and thats why she was posting so much. Ted was slammed here by people saying he kissed up to NH

    ReplyDelete
  39. I havent been to the forum in ages, is Ted really gone for good?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Either way, NEITHER OF THOSE PEOPLE STOPPED POSTING BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING SMACK BLOG.

    Period. End of story.

You're just making shit up to make this place seem worse than it is.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Things the smack blog is also responsible for:

    1. AIDS
    2. Poverty
    3. Abortion
    4. Global Warming

    ReplyDelete
  42. You can check being a bitch off that bucket list

    ReplyDelete
  43. 2:24 Leigh was slammed as was Meredith. It was said they were trying to get a DT position. Leigh was also ridiculed for posting so much and the content of her posts.

We should point out the posts???? Don't be so lazy. Go back and read all the posts in the smack blog from a few weeks ago. Ted did not leave because Nicole was rude to him. He continued to post long after that. Get your facts straight before you say someone is full of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Get your facts straight before you say someone is full of shit.

    ----

    Likewise, hypocrite.

Please show me where Ted and Leigh said they weren't posting because of the smack blog.

    Oh, wait. They never did.

Get your facts straight, drama queen.

    ReplyDelete

    3. Prostitution

    5. Drug Abuse
    6. Domestic Violence
    7. Dumb Bitches with the Butthurt

    ReplyDelete
  46. gee, maybe former forum posters, like me, don't publicly blame SOME of the reason we no longer post on the forum on this blog.

for me, it is both this place and the crud that PTI has become. it isn't an either or thing.

i know that is hard to understand but just because pti is run poorly doesn't mean that this smack blog doesn't call out folks.

and no there is no "evidence" of why a particular person stops going to the forum. so I'll just speak for me and then you can call me a liar.

    oh, back from church yet?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Awww, Leigh, is that you? Did you get your widdle feelings hurt over some relatively benign comments that were made about you?

Perhaps this place is too much for your delicate sensibilities and simple mind, dear.

Go back to your "happy place."

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'd have to agree with the posters above. I do remember some PTI customers being smacked here. Leigh gunning for DT and Ted for various reasons. This is a smack blog, they will get smacked. It's not right in my opinion but IT DID happen. I don't think they'd be stupid enough to write they were smacked here so they stopped posting. Nichole was mean to Ted and so were some smackers. Add it all up. If I were Ted, it's not worth it.

As for them not posting on the PTI blog anymore no one knows for sure why, but if I were publicly smacked here, I would be wary of posting there again too. Leigh still posts, but others like myself have stopped. I just buy. I come here for news about CS and entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I come here for news about CS and entertainment.

    -------

And to act all self-righteous and scold the other smackers who are soooo beneath you.

The personal attacks are, and have always been, a very small percentage of the posts here. Generally, when someone makes a personal attack, they are admonished by several other posters.

So once again, you are a total hypocrite if you feel that this place is so damaging but continue to visit.

Do you not see the hypocrisy in that?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hypocrisy doesn't count when you have the chance to be a self-righteous hand-slapper.

    HTH

    ReplyDelete
  51. 0546 You just confirmed my point. We dont even have to look back further than a few posts to prove what many of us are saying

    ReplyDelete
  52. No comments on all the wasted paper the dt used today. Who wants to spend weeks making all those little bitty things that have no real use?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I do not post on the forum any more because of the smacking here. It is just not worth it for someone to do a google search and find that crap. I am not one of the ones mentioned in the last couple of days, but I personally don't want my name used anywhere. If I post on the forum, my name could get smacked here and it has happened to me so I won't do it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have to wonder about horse sets like the new Cat's Meow one, or military sets, or yoga sets. Are they really going to sell well when they appeal only to a small portion of the market? I am kind of surprised that they don't look for things that will be appealing to a majority.

    ReplyDelete
  55. On the other hand, 8:54, who really needs another floral set? Or butterflies? Or cupcakes/cakes? Or any number of themes that have been so overdone.

I'm always on the lookout for something different. I bought a bunch of Raisin Boat stamps with unusual subjects - like marathons, racing, etc. Nothing like it in my collection and I have a use for them.

I could see buying a yoga set.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Those of you who are blaming this smack blog for the fact that you quit posting on the forum are exaggerating its importance.

Seriously, quit with the cowardly melodrama already.

The personal smack was a very small part of this board, and you're allowing it to have too much control over your every day actions.

Self-righteous, dramatic, exaggerated melodrama is what you're creating.

    ReplyDelete
  57. 08:54, I guess those sets will appeal to about as many people as the Hanukkah sets will.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Somebody said Leigh was gunning for a DT position?

    THE HORROR!!!

That has to be one of the worst things ever said about any human being ever.

    D.R.A.M.A.

    ReplyDelete
  59. sorry honey, but I am entitled to react any way I want to this blog. Is it the most important thing in my life? No, but I do not like seeing my name mentioned here. Either would you. So I CHOOSE to stop posting on the forum. I buy tons of PTI and enjoy it and use it on my blog and I come here for entertainment.

That's it. No drama, no slapping, just a fact. My choice. If you mention someone's name and then can't handle that person's reaction, then you have the issue not me. If you think that my no longer posting on a forum is creating drama then your life is pretty tame.

And it doesn't matter to me if 99% of this smack blog mentions no names. when the name is mine, that 1% becomes 100% in MY world. It is MY name. So fuck off.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I agree that the things that were said about Ted are unkind. Saying Leigh was gunning for a DT spot is not "smacking."

    You need a thicker skin.

Maybe I'll stop posting because some anonymous person told me to fuck off.

    Booo fucking hoo.

    DRAMA QUEEN.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Also, though, for every comment insulting Ted, there were several praising him and several calling the person making nasty comments out.

You're pretty pathetic if you allow a minute percentage of the comments here to control where you do and don't post.

Oh, and fuck off. I guess that's one phrase that doesn't bother your precious little unicorn ears.

    ReplyDelete
  62. And it doesn't matter to me if 99% of this smack blog mentions no names. when the name is mine, that 1% becomes 100% in MY world. It is MY name. So fuck off.

    ------------

And yet you continue to visit and post at this awful, destructive, hateful, cruel place.

Either it's not as bad as you're claiming, or you're a hypocrite. I wouldn't visit a place I found so distasteful and cruel.

    Which is it?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't post anywhere anymore ever.

The crushing fear that someone, somewhere might not see me for the special snowflake I am is too much for me to bear.

I don't know how I'd handle it if I ever read that I - I - (I can barely type this out, it's so horrible) - I was trying to get on PTI's design team.

I'm sobbing uncontrollably just thinking of the horror.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I haVe felt that there were a number of people who showed up on the forum for awhile who might've been interested in getting on the DT. They stuck around for a bit, were pretty active, and then disappeared, presumably when no DT position was available. Some of them had a lot of talent and would have been a good fit for PTI. Some of them went on to other design teams that I feel aren't a great fit for them, at least from a design perspective. I was glad to be introduced to their blogs, and I continue to follow some of them.

What I don't enjoy are the people on the forum who must drop anything they're doing when their computer pings that there's a new post, and rush to be the first to respond if there's a question. Sometimes it seems that they want people, or at least newbies, to think they represent the company. Many are genuinely helpful, and if you've been reading for awhile, it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have to smile. PTI must doing things right these days because its quite a reach to find things to bitch about on here.

    ReplyDelete
  66. --and an even bigger reach to actually find anything in the store :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Are you kidding me? If you hated what is available "in the store", why would you even bother checking this blog? Why waste your time here? I, too, hate the way CS has treated people (although I have always been satisfied), but am here because I WANT them to succeed, and check to see if there are any new CS issues. And for the occasional tip from other smackers on other products (fresh ink!) that I might like to buy. (Thanks to all that have been helpful, not hateful.) But I don't understand why you would even visit here, if you hate PTI so much!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ted is still on the forum daily. He just stopped posting.

    ReplyDelete
  69. ^^^^

And you know this by your magical powers?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Speaking of "helpful" smackers....can I ask a question? Anyone have a "Cameo"? I am not super-confident with my computer skills, and don't know if it would be out of my league. Anyone out there that could give some insight? I don't want something that just sits there because I'm intimidated, but I love the projects I see that are made with it. Also, do you use it a lot? Or not as much as you thought?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I am also interested in one and wonder how much space it takes up and if it is a lot more of a headache than just buying dies. I do wish someone would come up with a way to cut around all stamped images leaving a 1/8 border that is even, but I don't want to buy a machine to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I frequent the forum almost daily and it shows who is logged in at the bottom of the screen. I see Ted there all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I leave myself logged in all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ok, I see someone asked about the Cameo...does anyone know about the Portrait? It comes out in November. Anyone buying? I haven't been brave enough to buy an electronic cutter, because I'm not great on the computer. But I'm interested. Any input?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I leave myself logged in as well.

    ReplyDelete
  76. So my honest Cameo opinion is I'd wait for the smaller portrait and would have bought it if available
Space wasn't a huge issue, but I craft in the basement and my laptop is always on the first floor. It's great for specific projects- if I have an idea of a card, and search for an image, then I size it etc on the laptop which I will then carry downstairs and plug in to the cameo.
Eg my gf had her son premature
I downloaded a boxing glove image. Sized
Arranged the letters 'congrats on your little fighter' sized. Cut both out
It'd definitely not something I use for spur of the moment projects. But it does have its uses.

And the software was easy to learn

    ReplyDelete
  77. Also, you can download the software without having a cameo. So download it and try it out before you buy

    ReplyDelete
  78. I can understand why people would get hurt if their names were mentioned here in a negative way. It's a PTI smack blog. I don't get why their names were dragged in. I would be hurt too if I saw my name here. For those who think we're drama queens and hypocrites. Why do you post anonymous if you have thicker skin and can stand the criticism?

I wasn't scolding or handslapping anyone. Just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I post anonymous because I have no life and I just like to sit around and talk shit about people on the forum. I am also in a position of authority, so if I used my name you would all recognize me and want my autograph. I am kind of a big deal. People know me.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I post anonymously because I am a no one in the crafting world. I don't have a blog and I've never posted at the forum, except in the buy/sell/trade forum.

But, if it makes you feel any better, I'll use my real name from now on. Because Carol is so uncommon that you'll know exactly who I am.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Also, your version of "criticism" is someone saying that Leigh was gunning for the PTI design team.

    Really?

    That's criticism?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Looks like everyone is named Carol today...come on everyone...let's all be Carol!

    ReplyDelete
  83. 17:36, I know exactly who you are. And you are right - you're kind of a big deal ;)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thanks to the smacker who gave input on the cameo. I think I will wait till the portrait comes out. Good Christmas present to myself. :) And thanks for the tip about getting to know the software now. Off to try to figure it out!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Another month passes and nothing appealing at PTI but the cardstock.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Everyone in the card/scrapbook world has been smack once. So sorry your argument won't convince anyone ( to the 1% person). Stop being a whiner baby.!

    ReplyDelete
  87. What do you think of this comment?

    http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/2012/10/i-love-halloween.html

    ReplyDelete
  88. Leigh's post about having the same idea on the December Dailies.

    http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=38636

She tried to be cute, but the title of her post ("Jessica Witty stole my idea") is pretty insulting to Jessica. Why write something like that, even if it is a joke? Leigh is a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Wow....that's pretty harsh. Just because she said that? I saw that comment today and thought it was a little strange, but not bitchy. My thought was that she wanted everyone to know she had good ideas...just like Jessica. But each of us judges others differently. You more than me, apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  90. And you are a bitch too, apparently. HAH!

    ReplyDelete
  91. http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/2012/10/i-love-halloween.html

Well, I don't use digi-stamps at all. But some people LIVE for comments. And everybody likes to be thanked for what they do.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think giving away something free on a blog is the same as giving a gift... give it without expecting anything in return. Her little post about not being appreciated comes across as needy and whiny.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Leigh is a bitch because the title of her post is inflammatory. And your proffered reason for her post (she wants everyone to know she has "good ideas") is pretty sad. Let her work speak for itself. Anyone who has bothered to visit her blog knows she has good ideas. But to have to resort to using such a poor post title? It's a cry for attention.

It would be a completely different scenario if she and Jessica were good pals. But she's not.

    ReplyDelete
  94. 19:30, sure, I'm a bitch. But at least I don't lightheartedly refer to someone as a plagiarist or thief.

    ReplyDelete
  95. And you know they aren't friends? Hmmmm....I thought that the DT was out to be "friends" with everyone on the forum. At least that's how they come across with all of the posts that they are suddenly (and awkwardly) putting out. Jessica shouldn't be threatened by that. (But maybe you ARE Jessica.)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Which smacker was accusing someone "lightheartedly" of being a thief or a plagiarist? I'm lost....

    ReplyDelete
  97. No one mentioned the similarity between Lisa Johnson's western backgrounds and PTI's Farm & Barn backgrounds? That wood plank stamp is the same. Oh fab.

    ReplyDelete
  98. ^^^yep it's the same all right. I had to go take a peek at her blog.

20:39 you and me both. I had to go look at that post too. I think 20:30 was referring to Leigh accusing Jessica. I also think Leigh meant it to sound funny ...

As for all the Carols in this forum. Thanks for being so very brave.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks 21:55 .... Now I get it. Thanks for setting me straight. And in a nice way. Have a good night!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I apologize for claiming that this blog talked about people who post on the forum. I see that I was wrong. Thanks for clarifying.

    ReplyDelete
  101. And I, seriously, apologize for making fun of a smacker's maroon leather couches. That was mean because it apparently hurt your feelings.

Even when we are comfortable with our own choices -- furniture, design work, customer service policies -- it stings to get criticized, publicly, privately, by name or even without anyone knowing who you are. I know how it feels and I had no business lowering myself to the level of some of the folks on this blog.

So I hope you accept my apology in the spirit in which I mean it.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Some of the other team

    ReplyDelete
  103. Some of the other team members have done the Fabulous frames as a mini too - Danielle did and I think Ashley did too before.

    ReplyDelete
  104. 4:58, get off your high horse.

    ReplyDelete
  105. 0458. And the spirit is....sarcastic?

    ReplyDelete
  106. i am 4:58 -- my spirit was sincere. No snark intended. If it came across that way to you, then you misunderstood. I tried my best to apology, but if a sincere apology isn't accepted, then it remains out there nevertheless.

    ReplyDelete
  107. All that work to make that letter set when you can either just use the letter die cuts or die cut your saying and sponge through the openings.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Anybody know where I might put my hands on a nativity set. Any ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I have maroon leather furniture and I totally love it. I couldn't care less whether anonymous smackers approve of it or not. If it is 80's not sure why it was the hot thing last year when I got it. It sure was expensive enough, but we love it. I am guessing my hardwood floors and black armoire are out of style too since gray is the new color. I am not a keep up with the Jones person. I am secure enough to want to live surrounded by what I love and what makes me happy. I also don't owe anyone in the world a single dime because I don't buy on credit to keep up with the trends.

    ReplyDelete
  110. 06:51- sadly most people expect snark and sarcasm (if not downright bitchiness) on this board so posts like yours usually get filtered through that expectation and true sincerity is either mocked or seen as suspicious. I am glad you made the effort though. It's always nice to see some positive energy flung around here once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Just had to look today. Sixteen stamp sets. And dies. And who know all what else. All I can say is overwhelming.

    ReplyDelete
  112. ^^^^ the more the better in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I think it's kinda silly to smack them for how much they release...they are a business after all with the goal of making money and growing
Yes I recognize all their issues but they would billy to try and downsize their offerings....

    ReplyDelete
  114. Rick really just said this???

Also....the system is WAY bogged down for the first 10-15 minutes of the release...if you wait until 15-30 minutes after the site has been updated, you should have no issues with placing your order and finding items on a very speedy site. I know it is tempting to get on there at 9:59 PM and click refresh a million times, but doing this slows the system to a crawl and makes it difficult for EVERYONE trying to use the system.

You will save yourself a lot of frustration if you can just wait until 10:15-10:30 to place your order....the system usually settles down by then...

    Rick

HOW ABOUT YOU FIX THE SITE ONCE AND FOR FRICKING ALL !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. ^^^says the website expert.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Looks like thy shut the store down.... No PTI site or forum... Interesting

    ReplyDelete
  117. Got my order from Mama Elephant today. Super cute stamps, nicely packaged. And guess what they have on their invoice? A phone number!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Yeah no website and no announcement of it anywhere. Typical effects up PTI...... Release thread only has 10 posts awesome

    ReplyDelete
  119. GinaK has new ink coming out. Can anyone tell me more? I love good sources for good anything. :)

    ReplyDelete
  120. Looks like PTI has put limits on how many of an item you can put in your shopping cart - max is now 20. Probably to stop the inventory checking.

    ReplyDelete
  121. ^^^noticed it too.

    ReplyDelete
  122. 18:03 - Rick is actually being logical in his suggestion of waiting for traffic to die down. What he doesn't seem to realize is that normal logic does not apply to PTI. 10 - 15 minutes can mean the difference between whether something is in or out of stock. 10 - 15 minutes can add an additional week to the already extended shipping time. So waiting is sometimes not an option.

It would be great if PTI would do some volume testing, so that their server is sized appropriately, but for one night a month......*shrug*. Not defending them, just typing with sad resignation.

    ReplyDelete
  123. 1:11 minutes after the release and everything is still in stock. As long as the order is placed in the first couple of hours it surely will ship out in the first day or two.

    ReplyDelete
  124. ROFLMAO, 20:12! You must be new.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I was thinking the same thing. It's the orders that are placed 1/2 hour-1 hour after the site goes live that seem to get lost or put on hold.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I have had website release ordering issues with Unity with the site locking up and very slow in the past. Its not just PTI.

However, I logged in at 9:45 CST accessed my wish list moved it to my cart and added the new stuff. I used my rewards and a credit card. It was fast and I did not have any problem.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Must be release night at PTI. How do I know this? Not because it is the 15th but because they are having "technical problems". Think how much more money they would make if things worked!

    ReplyDelete
  128. ^^Completely agree with you 200%

    ReplyDelete
  129. If you only knew...

    ReplyDelete
  130. Oh for heaven's sake. What do you mean by that? Don't be a tease.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yeah 21:41 what's up?

    ReplyDelete
  132. They don't know anything....they are just trying to create drama. No one that DOES know would come HERE and create a stir.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Lion Through Their Teeth16 October 2012 at 04:35

I'm liking a lot of Clear & Simple Stamps Oct/Nov release. I ordered Apothecary: Holidays and the Perfect Harvest sets among other things. In almost 20 years of stamping I've never felt the need for any fruit/vegetable stamps but I couldn't resist this time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  134. Looked but didn't appeal to me. Got a bit confused with the blog surfing, maybe because i'm on an ipad? Very happy for you though Lion.

    ReplyDelete
  135. 20:24.... how exactly would you have logged in 15 minutes early? they took the website down for the 20 minutes before the new release went live.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I believe she said CST

    ReplyDelete
  137. No they did not take it down. It crashed, but only the forum. You could get into the store 15 minutes early.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Take it down voluntarily. Never. They would never do that. Nichole posted on Facebook that it crashed but the store worked.

    ReplyDelete
  139. The forum was rebooted at 8:30 for about 5 minutes, and the store was taken down to upload the new products from 9:30 until 9:55.

    ReplyDelete
  140. yes the message on the website specifically said "the website is down to load all of our new items. It will go live at 10pm EST"

and I missed the CST from the other poster... of course if she logs on an hour after release things will work smoothly. Shoot, her stuff will probably ship before my order that went in at 10:08 EST. LOL

    Thanks, 05:36 :)

Maybe I'm wrong but it looked to me like the Release Night Tech Help thread was gone. Another instance of If-we-hide-it-there-are-no-problems?

  142. Maybe I'm wrong but it looked to me like the Release Night Tech Help thread was gone. Another instance of If-we-hide-it-there-are-no-problems?

    --------------

Yeah, this thread was there last night, now *poof* it's gone? WTF? Rick, that's very cowardly! Another example of "brilliant business women".

    ReplyDelete
  143. The tech thread is gone...wow!

    ReplyDelete
  144. Dont forget its their business they can do what they please. If you dont like it there are plenty of places to buy quality items as discussed here over and over

    ReplyDelete
  145. Last night was the first time I haven't ordered in a really long time. I think I'm sobering up from my PTI hangover.

    ReplyDelete
  146. They delete the release night tech help thread every month.......

    ReplyDelete
  147. I ordered, but I ordered a lot of older things. Friendship Jar, Table Service, etc. I did get Peaceful Pinecones. I think y'all will like my colors though.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Trell, whatever you make will be lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  149. So 0730 why dont you have patience and order after the immediate release frenzy and safe yourself some aggravation? I dont see things running out of stock as fast as in the old days.

    ReplyDelete
  150. @12:54...

because someday I believe that PTI will become a stand up company and ship orders in teh order received per what they have said.

you may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  151. But is being first really that important? I prefer less stress

    ReplyDelete
  152. I ordered last night at 10:05 and my package just arrived at my doorstep! That was fast!

    ReplyDelete
  153. no being first isn't important. Getting my stuff in a timely manner so I can use it at a crop this weekend is.

What is this first grade? being first for the sake of being first isn't important. But if PTI says they will ship in the order they get them, then I think they should do that because on principle they should do what they say, not because I'm entitled to my package before someone else.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh dear and i dont mean this bitchy but why would you order something you wanted in 4 days from PTI after everything that has happened in the past?

      Delete
  154. 14:12... I call BS on that one... but I dare you to go post that on the PTI forum... hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  155. 10:28 - If that's the case, why is Septembers tech thread still there?

    ReplyDelete
  156. I want it, I don't need it for the crop this weekend. If I order at release there is a chance I'll get it before Saturday (I'm only 2 hrs from Cinci). If I wait an hour or more it tends to bump up to 2 weeks, so it is worth it for me to order early on so I have a better chance of getting stuff in a week.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Holy Toledo -- is that you????

    Donna Coffeen

    Donna Coffeen

    Donna Coffeen

    ReplyDelete
  158. I don't think it could be Donna Coffeen - I mean - why? WHY?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Donna doesn't live anywhere near Cincinnati. Silly guess.

    ReplyDelete
  160. 9:06 I am the opposite. Last night was my biggest order, in my history anyway. I added stuff from my wish list. Still have a huge WL though. Boards and beams sets and the whole Jars series included. Those each would be 100+ in themselves so I'm still hoping I'd buy them when I don't like anything from the new releases. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  161. If you have a huge wish list it would be great for you to watch the for sale board. You can get some amazing deals.

    ReplyDelete
  162. MFT announced tonight during their release party that they're going to release two colors of ink on November 13. Has anyone reading this bought any of their cardstock? I really like their dies, and I'm always looking for good paper and ink.

    ReplyDelete
  163. 9:06 we did the same thing. I bought older sets and things that I've been wanting for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Gina K's new ink looks good based on the pictures she took. Will be interesting to see how they are received.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Who is Donna Coffeen? a new dt?

    ReplyDelete
  166. It's thicker PTI paper for me. Sorry 20:29 no idea on their paper but I think I read somewhere it's a smidge thinner than PTI? Hopefully someone who owns both can chime in.

Not buying anymore ink. It's PTI and Impress for me. I have too much inks now. :(

    ReplyDelete
  167. I bought a sampler pack from met last night to try out their paper. Will post when I get it since folks seem interested. That is why I bought ( that and it got me the free stamp set too).

    ReplyDelete
  168. I have all the AMuse and Impress inks to choose from. If I don't have a match to MFT or Gina K's cardstock, I'll buy their matching ink.

Since I almost always use a thick white or cream for my card base, the weight of the colored cardstock is not all that critical to me. And I don't really see a difference between the thickness of PTI and MFT.

Just received an order of Gina K white and cream but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Maybe they take the release night orders toss them in the air and then pull and ship all the orders that land face up first :-)

    ReplyDelete
  170. PTI CS is 110lb, I believe. MFT's is 100 lb. I can just barely notice the difference if I'm really paying attention.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Do those fabulous Impress ink pads you all are always raving about have refills? I can't find them on the Impress site. Ink pads without refills are dumb. Please tell me I'm just looking in the wrong place?

    ReplyDelete
  172. Someone let me know if Clear and Simple Stamps has a sale....so I can actually afford their stuff! I love the Build a Critter, and lust after the new Dress Up ones...but the dies are $48!!!!!!! I don't have any of the base sets either, so yikes.

I was one of the first people who placed a PTI order last month during the whole refresh debacle on Oct 15. My order got lost, or something -- they ended up sending me the whole thing again last week and I got it two days later -- but Julie was very prompt and nice in her customer service replies to me. I wasn't happy about the delay, but the CS was good.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I'm with you on the C&S stamps/dies... crazy expensive!

My order also got jacked last month at PTI and Julie's response was completely bitchtastic - which is typical. The way they close tickets without resolving is just ridiculous too. Never got resolution but she closed the ticket at least 5 times.

I solved my own damn problem and want to reopen the ticket just because she's a bitch

    ReplyDelete
  174. Impress reinkers listed separately on first screen

go to Market Place - Inks
first row shows Impress Ink as first box. re inkers are on third row

    ReplyDelete
  175. okay never mind, I answered my own question. Don't you think the refills should be listed on the same page as the ink pads? I searched the site for "fresh ink refills" and got nada. Then I searched for "refill" and got nothing again. Then I searched for "ink" and FINALLY found a link to their refills. THEN I noticed that they call them "reinkers" and not "refills" on the site. That would have been nice to know while I was fumbling around their site trying to find them. Sheesh.

    ReplyDelete
  176. 08:22--

    *smacks forehead*

How did I not see that the first time? I could have sworn I clicked that "ink" link and all that came up was the page for the fresh ink pads. Oh well it's all good now, thanks for the help. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  177. Fresh Ink reinkers are good sized, unlike the A Must ones which are very teeny. One reason why I prefer the Fresh Inks to the A Muse even though the formula is identical.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Yeah that's kind of a rip-off. I hate when companies do that. Too bad the colors are not all the same because I'm the sort who wants them all. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  179. The Fresh Inks and reinkers are also on sale quite often, unlike the A Muse. I did buy 3 of the A Muse due to colors that were not close to Fresh Ink options, but otherwise I will go with Fresh Ink every time.

    ReplyDelete
  180. PTI CS is 110lb, I believe. MFT's is 100 lb. I can just barely notice the difference if I'm really paying attention.

    17 October 2012 04:24

--- it's hard to gauge the thickness by the lb rating. I use Georgia Pacific cardstock for a lot and it's also rated 110lb but it's WAAAAY thinner than PTI or GKD cardstock -which have the exact 110lb rating.

    ReplyDelete
  181. 110 lb means little. It is more important to know fiber density, kind of like thread count on sheets. A 200 count sheet made of one fiber feels much thicker than 200 of another fiber.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Ordered from MFT last night. Got my FedEx tracking info...package was already picked up and on its way... how nice!

(and yes, my PTI order is still sitting htere :) )

    ReplyDelete
  183. My MFT order has already been picked up to according to fedex tracking as well.

    Didn't order from PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  184. ^^^. I ordered from MFT last night and it shipped today. I cant wait to try those bow dies!!!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Looks like my MFT order is on the way, too. Love her dies. And a great free stamp set.

    ReplyDelete
  186. ^^^ jalous cause you can't order from yo broke ass!

    ReplyDelete
  187. ^^^^really?? Even in jest your spelling is atrocious and it is so not funny.

    ReplyDelete
  188. 13:43 those bow dies do look cute. Unfortunately, the cards will get squished in the mail. It's great for a hand delivered card :) I'll have to pass, the price is steep for me. I'll have to make do with flat ribbons :(

    ReplyDelete
  189. 16:35 then don't come here and post "yawn". You should be thankful that we have this blog!!!

    ReplyDelete
  190. I got both sizes of bow dies from lil' inkers. I use them on packages, on gift bags that I make, on goodies I deliver to friends, and on homemade decorations. I am going to make 2 dozen from double sided paper to attach to my stairway garland this Christmas.

  191. Yawning is a sign that your brain is craving oxygen. If you don't get up from that computer and get some exercise you are going to lose even more brain cells, and you have none to spare.

    ReplyDelete
  192. yawning... the new way to handslap the smackers.

    ReplyDelete
  193. 20:23 those are cute too! Love the added stitching on the ribbons. :) I guess MFT got the ribbon idea from them? Skipping on those but the rectangle dies with stitching looks pretty tempting :) Thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  194. We need more space, please!

    ReplyDelete
  195. I like the stitching and the fact that the LI bows are more rounded.
