  1. Aha! First!
Not buying them MFT florals. Still have my PTI and Spellbinders and MS punches.
    Too many flowers now.

  2. "not buying them ..."

    please correct your grammar.

  3. re: nichole deleting the comment yesterday. I agree that it's her blog she should be able to delete things she doesn't like, but if you're going to do that then moderate the comments in advance. It's rude to let it go up there and then remove it.

  4. 03:27, shove it.

  5. I may cave and buy the loopy die. Does anyone make something similar?

    ReplyDelete
  6. 5:28. Taylored expressions has a similar loop die from the most recent release. Priced at $7.95.

    ReplyDelete
  7. 5:28, thanks! I'll check it out today.

  8. ^^ oops. Meant to say thanks to 5:32!

  10. I caved and ordered from MFT last night! I just couldn't resist Lisa's primitive pumpkin set!

I have also ordered LOTS from The Stamps Of Life. They have great quality products and they have some of the cheapest shipping out there. I believe the owner works for Sizzix, so all of the dies that match her stamps are Sizzix. Just my two cents. Not affiliated, just a happy customer!

    ReplyDelete
  11. There is also the Martha Stewart loopy edge punch. If you don't HAVE to have a die.

Also: I figured out why the creepy santa looks so creepy to me. It's because the entire round part of his irises are showing. His eyes look zombified. Whoever illustrated that thing should have studied pictures of people smiling and made the irises be covered up by the lower eyelids a little.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Actually I think Her Royal Highness drew that pervy Santa, it looks like her style of illustration. She does those images with all the flowing lines, like in the YOF series. Looks good for flowers, not for people IMO.

It isn't exactly the same but here is a similar free font:

  14. I bought from MFT's release last night, too. Mostly dies, but I did get Lisa's set, some card stock and felt.

On a PTI note, is anyone really going to use those itty bitty dies with Boards and Beams and Home for the Holidays? Even one of the DT said she was intimidated by them. So not for me -they would drive me crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  15. 6:44, thanks for the crayon font information!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. The MS loopy punch works great instead of a die.
IMO Danielle knocked it out of the park with her gingerbread house today. I don't even like gingerbread stuff, but that house is adorable. Dawn's colors are once again yukky and her stamping is splotchy. The snowglobe does nothing for me. I have to have the Boards and Beams dies--both sets. It is going to kill me not to order them. I don't need the Peace and Love because I have the identical MS letter set. Trying not to cave for those B & B dies though.

    ReplyDelete
  17. FYI she got at least some of those Year of Flowers illustrations from clip art. But yeah, she altered them to give them the dotted lines look.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Upon looking at Creepy Santa again I have decided he looks more sad than anything else. And a little anxious. Probably how Nichole is feeling about PTI these days. He looks like he is watching his empire go down in flames but has to put on a smile for the public. If I ever stamped that thing (which I never will) I would use dimensional glue to put a poignant tear running down his cheek. Cue the "Ridi Pagliaccio" music...

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would like the Boards and Beams dies too but I would never use the smaller companion dies. I have the door stamps and all of the little dies that go with them and I have used them a total of 2 times. Way too tedious for me.

No matter though, I'm not ordering.
If there is anything that I really want I will wait a few months and watch the for sale board.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Has anyone here bought the buttons from MFT? How do they compare to PTI's?

    ReplyDelete
  21. 8:44, there are only a couple manufacturers of buttons (like most products), so honestly buttons from all the companies are almost exact.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Okay. So what about the sizes? From the pics on MFT's website it looks like they might not have any of the huge ginormous buttons in them. Do you know if they do or not?

(p.s. the spell-check on this blog recognizes the word "ginormous" as a real word! heeheehee)

    ReplyDelete
  23. 0749. That is really in- depth thinking. Maybe a little to much thinking about a rubber stamp

    ReplyDelete
  24. What can I say, a picture is worth a thousand in-depth thoughts.

    ReplyDelete

  25. Really don't like those gingerbread people. Funny shapes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I figured that I wouldn't like anything because I don't send out Halloween cards nor do I do a lot of treat bags/crafts/ decorating for Halloween. I also have enough Christmas stamps to last me a lifetime and then some. I like the Boards and Beams dies but I am still safe.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dear Gina K ,
I almost bought about $100 in cardstock today but I found it quite tedious to have to type out each color's name in the product box. You should really have a drop down menu for colors. I have a very short attention span and this lone fact kept me from buying. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Someone asked about Chanukah stamps and Nichole answered with the usual "we don't reveal our plans" which I have always taken to mean NO.

This was just posted and it made me LOL!

"I was thrilled to recently acquire Mazel Tov & Additions from Mish's sell-off so that's still new-to-me but I'd still love some more Jewished-themed items! You can never have too many!"

    ReplyDelete
  29. My MFT order shipped in less than 24 hours! I am excited!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mine, too, 13:47.

  31. Silhouette has a loopy border for a buck. Can't beat that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I really don't think I would use a Silhouette enough to make it work it. You still have to pay for each image you want after you buy the machine. Also, too much ease of impulse buying.

    =================
This isn't necessarily true. You can turn any .jpg image into a cut file for free using the trace function!

    ReplyDelete
  36. New color is the failed Spring moss ink version 3!

    ReplyDelete

  37. So much fawning over the pillow box - really unis, the concept has been forever. It's not a PTI original.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm thankful to the person who released the oops post about the Boards and Beams and Home for the Holidays sets yesterday, I was able to order them early, I'm sure they will run out before release!

    ReplyDelete
  39. And now the PTI site is down until tomorrow morning due to data import. Any guesses how successful this will be?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, the Silhouette is amazing. You can create a cut out of any image, even your stamps. No need to buy dies for stamps anymore. It pays for itself very quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  41. But you still have to pay for the files to match the stamps right? --and have computer software and a big desk for all the equipment and you still need a Big Shot to emboss?

    ReplyDelete
  42. The files are only 99 cents. And you can use them over an over. OR...if you have a scanner you can scan the stamped image and save it as a jpeg file and there is your cut file. It really is a good deal. I got my Silhouette on Amazon and if I pay it off in six months its ends up interest free.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You don't need to buy the cut files. If you have a scanner you can scan the stamped image, trace it and turn it into a cut file. It does not emboss (so you still need the Cuttlebug/Big Shot if you want to emboss) and it can take up a lot of room if you consider that it has to be hooked up to a computer.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @ 19:28

You need a scanner. Stamp all your images on a paper, scan it, open the software and trace your image. The trepace feature is super easy to use. AND you can even adjust the outline of the trace so if you want the cut to fit exactly around the stamp, just make a smaller trace. Or if you want it to have a little white border like you get from a die cut, just increase the offset of the trace. Then just cut your stamps onto cardstock and stamp your images.

The reason I like doing this is that you can have a cut for every stamp. Especially those hard to cut images or for stamps that don't have a complete set of dies. Besides dies can cost an average of $8 to $20 each time. After only a few sets, the Silouette paid for itself.

I also tried this same technique for images and shapes on Google. Just trace the image and it's an instant die.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "trace feature" darn typos.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have had both a Slice and a Cricut and both just frustrated the heck out of me. Rough cuts and just a mess. So hard to get something good that it was just too much work. Afraid of die cutting machines now.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Me again. One more thing. I have also used the trace feature for envelopes. I opened the envelope all the way, scanned, and traced it. Now I always have the template in my files and can cut it onto any pattern paper I want. And I didn't have to pay for a file from the Silhouette store. All free.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I had a Cricut. Hated it. Never used it. Got the Cameo and love how it tells you what setting to use based on the material or paper. So far I have had a great experience with the Cameo.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Will it work with a MAC and any scanner?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Is it wireless or do you have to have a cable to connect to the computer. My computer and printer take up 90% of my desktop now. If I could put it on a counter 6 feet away, it might be doable.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes the Cameo is compatible with Mac or PC. It connects to the computer with a USB cable. For now, mine is sitting on the floor but I am going to get a longer USB cable so I can set it on the table. So that is the only downfall I can think of, but I don't even consider that an issue. I might even scan all my dies and sell them to save storage. Dies are such a pain to store and organize in my small space.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh and yes any scanner will work.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Just wanted to say with the new PTI webstore, you can't check the remaining stocks like before.

Wanted to check the boards and beams and home for the holidays stamp sets.

    ReplyDelete
  54. to the person who doesn't want to buy the cameo because he doesn't think he would use it enough.

don't buy it. really. no need to explain or justify.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I owned a scanner years ago, and never used it. Couldn't get it to work with a new computer so I got rid of it. Now would like to get another since I have a Cameo, but don't know what to get. Inexpensive but not cheap is what I need... anyone have any recommendations?

    ReplyDelete
  56. OMG, NH is taking color lessons from Dawn!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Which card did you mean?
I kinda liked all her cards today.
    Okay... Loved it. Dang!

    ReplyDelete
  58. The only downfall to the Cameo is that it really is not portable friendly. I still love my bug and all the dies and folders I have for crops and stamp campa

    ReplyDelete
  59. Does anyone know if there is a cheaper pocket die similar to taylored expressions one? It's kinda pricey at $28.95

    ReplyDelete
  60. Lawn Fawn has a lovely gingerbread house set, and the gingerbread people look really sweet. Nicer than the PTI one from what I have seen so far.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Check out the PTI Knockoff blog - there is a pocket on the card there - they cut it by hand by the sound of it. Good sense; can have any size you want.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Me again. Nope, saw NH's card to case but not the card you mentioned. Maybe they deleted the post? Thanks anyway.

Still hoping to find an alternate to Taylor's pocket die.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Lawn Fawn's gingerbread stamps are cute but I wish they had dies to coordinate :(

    ReplyDelete
  64. so how many of you have cruised by isle of greeting cards.... is that near Aruba? or maybe St. Lucia?

I know my grammar isn't perfect, but basic spelling shouldn't be that hard.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Lol 5:46
Where did you copy this from? PTI forum?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I don't think Dawn knows the difference between mistletoe and holly.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah from the PTI forum...

  68. Thanks for the additional loopy die information. I must have been living in a closet. Today was my first visit to Taylored Expressions. So many nice things. Uh-oh. Must . . . exercise . . . restraint.

    :)

  69. Another day of awful cards.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Nichole's cards were ugly today

^^^oh for God's sake! Can't anyone cut crap out on their own anymore? You don't have to buy a die to cut out an image that you will only use 2 maybe 3 times!

    ReplyDelete
  72. When you make 150 Christmas cards, a die is nice.

If you are a teacher and use these to make bulletin board borders, a die is nice.

    A die is NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I've been underwhelmed by this months sets and cards. Kind of surprised that we haven't seen anything from Mailes yet. I bet she'll be the next designer to leave PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Beautiful cards today.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 5:46 it's OK to smack PTI's customer service but when the personal attacks on anyone start it's not ok. You are not perfect either.

    ReplyDelete
  76. yeah Maile has been active over on the SC message board, but never really on PTI.... I'm guessing she will leave too and I think it is sad. I really like her stamp designs.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I don't take 5:46 as a personal attack. It is a "a grown person should know the difference between aisle and isle."

There is a difference from saying someone is stupid or dumb and saying "hey, maybe people should proofread every now and again"

    ReplyDelete
  78. I thought Nichole's poinsettia card was very pretty. The others, not so much. As for the combination of Autumn Rose and Scarlet Jewel inks, I'll never do that. Why? Because mine look EXACTLY THE SAME.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't want to see any more designers go over to SC. I don't like any of their offerings and I would much rather see them go to other stamp companies.

    ReplyDelete
  80. 8:54, I agree with you.

I like SC products when I see it in the store, but their kit club seems confusing to me and I really feel like an outsider when I read their forum. Like I'm not cool enough to understand because I'm not a member. I don't know. It just isn't very welcoming. I don't feel that way on any other boards.

    ReplyDelete
  81. 9:04 here again...

I will also say that I view SC as a scrapbook company and not a card company.

I think Maile is awesome at cards and want her to keep her style. I also love her stamps and don't see SC coming out with a ton of card type stamps, but mostly scrapbooking ones.

    ReplyDelete
  82. That is the problem that I have with SC too. They aren't mainly a cardmaking company. When I see Dawn's cards made with SC product vs PTI stamps, I find them to be too scrappy.

I feel the same way about the message board.

    ReplyDelete
  83. But they have come out with a card kit. And the response has been so great, there's a waiting list. Maybe they're on to something?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Not impressed with anything this month. I was hoping for awesome Happy Harlequin cards and was very disappointed.

I can log in to the 5th generation website and my points are correct! I'm going to have to spend those some day.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I logged in also, but I had to reset everything and I lost all my reward points.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I pretty much love everything Nichole makes.

and, yes, Maile and Jessica's days at PTI are numbered.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I really loved Jessica's use of boards and beams - really just beautiful. I would love to get that whole collection but darn if it isn't $63 or something crazy like that. If I had them already adding on the dies wouldn't be a big deal, but to buy it all at once kind of sucks. I have had it on my wishlist for awhile now though.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I can't even login to the new website. It cuts off my email address, but when it asks me to reset my password, it uses the whole emaill address. I've reset the password twice now. The first password worked before they did the 'data import' yesterday. Now even that first password won't work and the reset I did this morning isn't working either.

I have no plans to purchase any time soon, just curious about the website and wanted to check out my account. But I don't understand how they expect customers to order if they can't even login or reset their password.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Thanks for the heads up to Lawn fawn gingerbread set - so cute!

I am happy that there are poinsettia dies for the year of flower set, but I won't be buying anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Nichole's cards today are not her best, IMO. I usually like at least one but I didn't like any of them. And I'm not sure if it was just my monitor, but they seemed a little blown out, too.

    ReplyDelete
  91. ^^ me again, I meant that the photos seemed blown out.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would go insane running a die through my cuttlebug 150 times. THAT is when an electronic cutter is nice! Load up a 12x24 mat with 2 sheets of 12x12 cs and let it go to town.

    ReplyDelete
  93. PTI knocks the socks off of everyone else - I don't care what anyone says!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I think not many people here will care what you think either. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  95. Where do you see your rewards? I clicked on the rewards tab (after logging in) and it only shows me the rules for the rewards.

    ReplyDelete
  96. holy splotchy ink! a ringing endorsement for PTI's crap-tastic inks if i've ever seen one: http://lilybeanpaperie.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451de2169e2017c31cdcb4d970b-pi

    ReplyDelete
  97. Re: NH's writing style. How many times can she say a stamp set/sentiment/color combo/whatever is "perfectly executed"? It's all so contrived.

    ReplyDelete
  98. 12:13 You go to My Account, then My Rewards Points.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yes SC must be doing something right but the card kits are really not my style. I don't really see Maile rocking those kits either. Her style is decidedly less cluttered.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Speaking of aisle/isle. Another example of using the wrong homophone: Erin's blog post is titled Santa Stationary. Is Santa not moving? Stationary with an "a" means not moving. StationEry, with an e is the stuff you use to write letters. I remember learning the mnemonic "stationEry goes in an Envelope". Someone needs to teach it to Erin.

And as I'm looking at my google reader I think Erin's post published early because it's a group post for 'Letters to Santa' and she used stationAry all through it. Maybe someone will notify her of the spelling issue and she'll correct it before the post is supposed to go live.

    ReplyDelete
  101. 14:21 i feel like with my PTI inks it depends on the color. The light colors have horrible coverage and some of my get great coverage. That is the problem with PTI inks they are so inconsistent!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Dawn's looks better only because she did dark green on light green cardstock.

    ReplyDelete
  103. The colored cardstock underneath makes a world of difference. I am noticing the dt's doing that more to cover up for the bad inks.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I can see Erin's new post on google reader, but when I click "more", I get an error "can't find this page". How do I view the entire blog post in Google Reader?

    ReplyDelete
  105. 16:46 here... and I figured it out. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  106. nichole is a big fatfingered bitch

    ReplyDelete
  107. ^^^what the hell brought that on?!

    ReplyDelete
  108. This place has become rather toxic!

    ReplyDelete
  109. My high school sophomore had an inservice on social bullying today.Seems adults could use the same.....

    ReplyDelete
  110. I have brought that up at my job as well

    ReplyDelete
  111. I don't use google reader.any way to see Erin's post otherwise? I'm assuming I have to have a gmail account for that?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Ignore the trolls. We were talking about splotchy PTI ink.

    ReplyDelete
  113. That's weird, I was thinking it would be Heather and Melissa B leaving next. Their posts have been like Mish's before she left. I found they did their projects half heartedly or something.

But now that someone mentioned it. I did wonder about Maile's absence.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Just viewed the links Dawn's card vs Melissa's. Thanks for the links btw.
Maybe Melissa's stamped wasn't conditioned/cleaned up enough? You know, the usual rub and scrub the solid image before you stamp?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Nichole's holly stamp doesn't look splotchy like Melissa's

  116. They probably use the Versamark-before-you-ink-trick with their crappy PTI inks.

    ReplyDelete
  117. 1841. Is that your answer to everything?

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'll try that tip with my stamps 19:44 .. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  119. I find out about that tip here and it works great!

    ReplyDelete
  120. I have heard that the Versamark will eventually ruin the colored pad?

    ReplyDelete
  121. If the ink is that crappy, does it really matter if the Versamark ruins the pad? And I'm not trying to be snarky or a smartass. I truly wonder which will happen first - the ink totally separating and being even more subpar or the inkpad falling apart from using Versamark.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I use the Tim holtz distress embossing pad before inking and it's a world of difference.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Never occurred to me that might happen 20:24 and 20:41.
Hmm.. Now to use versamark or not.

    ReplyDelete
  124. i've used versamark before my dye ink pads (su) for 13 years and the pads are fine. some i've replaced because they've frayed but no worse than others who don't use versamark. i'm a demo.

ps. come over to the dark side. yes, we are pricey but we stand behind our products. i know we don't sell clear, but you never know (hint hint)

    ReplyDelete
  125. Is there a difference between Versamark and the TH distress embossing pad?

    ReplyDelete
  126. That Santa stamp still looks off, even when colored with copics.

    ReplyDelete
  127. 4:00 there is no difference. I have both and they are just sticky ink pads without color

    ReplyDelete
  128. I came by to check comments on the latest PTI group post.
The Santa stamp looks better colored. I was surprised that I liked the Santa projects. Faux seals, great idea. Love the fonts too.
I just don't think I know who to give these kinds of letters to. :( no kids. Maybe make in packs/batches & sell at fairs?

    Liked Melissa B's post today.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Did comments always have to be approved before publishing on NH's blog? I thought they were published right away after completing the word verification thingy.

    ReplyDelete
  130. today's post is just disappointing. I don't like the set, but I also can't imagine spending $24 on a set that you can use for a limited amount of time.

I was really hoping today was the favor tag set and the new color intro. Wanted to kill the time at work that way.... oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well NH is censoring comments on her blog. I got fed up with her crediting Pinterest for her photo inspiration and left her a comment telling her it was not fair to the original source to do so. She should know better being a designer herself. How would she like it if someone credited Pinterest for a photo of her work, or a stamp set?
It's just wrong, and she doesn't want that fact known on her blog, so she wouldn't publish the comment I left.
Truth hurts don't it sausage fingers?

    ReplyDelete
  132. I love, love, love that Santa set, even though the Santa face will go in the trash. The rest of it is too adorable. I think after a year, I might cave. Loved Jess' Easter Bunny story about her 8 yr. old. I also have to have the Scarlet Jewel pack so I guess I will have to order. I know. I know. I am taking a huge chance and supporting the devils themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Dear Nichole,

How is a child's name placed on the nice list ARCHIVE for this Christmas?

For your sake, please stop trying so hard.

    ReplyDelete
  134. You are nuts! The comments are showing up on Nicholes blog, just like they always do! Complaining about the source of photos?? Really? That is what you are spending all your time and energy on today? Nothing better to do? Find a new cause and get a fucking life! You just look like a crazy ass!

    ReplyDelete
  135. You think that if I post Nichole's pictures on my blog and don't give credit she would have no problem with it?

    ReplyDelete
  136. I could see where this set would have great appeal if you had young kids in your life. Although it seems like a lot of work for a letter or 2 a year. No kids here so no interest for me. With or without creepy looking Santa.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I was bored by today's group post. The idea for the set is neat, but the execution by each DT was almost identical. Yawn...

    ReplyDelete
  138. I like the Santa set, and I thought about buying it, but I don't have kids so it would be kind of pointless. I really like the idea of it though.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I think it would be cool in Christmas cards to put "The Smith Family" on the line.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Erin didn't fix stationAry and no one told her before it went live. Tsk tsk tsk. Surely one of the people who avidly reads here and is defender of all that is PTI could have alerted her? Apparently the defenders don't care much.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I have young children so could use this set and think it would be fun. However, my kids won't believe in Santa much longer and then WTH am I to do with the set? Plus, the santa face creeps me out. I like his beard, but his eyes bug me.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Really 7:49, then go ahead and find my comment about picture sources.
I may LOOK like a crazy ass, but you ARE a crazy ass.
Obviously you've never had your OWN work stolen or not credited as the original source. I'm sure no one would want to anyway.
    I have.
Do you know what it feels like to run across a blog or web site with a picture of something YOU spent hours and hours on claiming it as their own?

GO kiss NH's fat ass, you fucking unicorn.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I see Maile did the same thing as Erin: stationAry. Is the name of the set not Santa Stationery. Do they not get that printed on something (a label, maybe)? When you are responsible for selling something for a company, you need to spell it correctly. If they were general bloggers I would wince but wouldn't smack them for it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I guess no one alerted Erin like nobody told Dawn that she called the holly image mistletoe. Or does Dawn calling it mistletoe, make it become mistletoe? Since you know, the DT can do no wrong...

    ReplyDelete
  145. pti obsessed, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  146. I totally "get" that whole not crediting your photo thing. I have found my stuff on other blogs before with no link back to my blog or credit. Granted, I have a watermark, but it blows me away that people would not ask permission or at least link back.
I think it is really bad manners for someone in NH's position to not link back to the original. It is not only rude, but super LAZY.
It further endorses PTI's apathetic attitude in business, and their lack of respect for others.

    ReplyDelete
  147. That santa is sooooo bad. It looks like a dirty homeless person trying to play santa! Gross!

    ReplyDelete
  148. You can still check stock with the new website. If you put in a large quantity, it doesn't change your quantity to the on hand amount it gives you a popup box that says you've exceeded the amount on hand.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Not to jazzed about this month. All the samples look dated to me. I like what Jess and Maile did but I feel like I could still do it with other sets I already have.

    ReplyDelete
  150. The Santa letters is a cute idea but I could easily make something similar in Photoshop and print it out. For very low cost.

03:17- I used to be a SU demo and agree, the service was great and I always had problems fixed to my satisfaction. I just grew away from the style of their stamps. If they go clear I hope to see some fresh new styles.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Still easy enough to figure the amount on hand just may take a little longer.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yay to Ashley for using actual sealing wax on her seal! The faux sealing wax method using embossing powder is a great technique and I was glad to see a couple people use it, but as a total geek for all things bookish I was *super* glad to see REAL sealing wax used at least once.

On the other hand: I was super disappointed to see that FOUR of the ten team members don't know that it's supposed be spelled 'stationEry'. Erin, Maile, Danielle, and Melissa. WTH!!! I expected better from these guys! It baffles me that people can spend 13 years in the public school system and still come out not knowing basic spelling and grammar.

    *bangs head on desk repeatedly*

Their kids will be so disappointed that Santa will not be visiting this year, because as you see, he is grounded. Stationary. Not moving. *sigh* Oh well. Better luck next year, kiddos!

And yeah: the creepy Santa looks better stamped, but his eyes are still creepy. So as cute as the rest of the set is, I would still not buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I wonder if eyelashes would help Santa's look

    ReplyDelete
  154. I think a paperbag would help Santa's look.

    ReplyDelete
  155. As I was reading Nichole's blog this morning, I showed Pervy Santa to my husband. I casually asked him if he liked that image. He made a face and said it looked weird.

This proves it's not just us smackers that don't like the Santa.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Another weird thing about Santa (besides the eyes) is that he has no mouth. No little smile. No lips, no nothing. Just a mustache floating over a blank space and then a beard.

    ReplyDelete
  157. The Middle East is burning down and smackers are obsessed with a Santa stamp. smh

    ReplyDelete
  158. What would you like us to do about the Middle East?

    ReplyDelete
  159. I heard every time a self righteous beotch handslaps, a middle eastern orphan get adopted

    ReplyDelete
  160. Don't you hate it when the smackers are soooooo much wittier that the handslappers?? LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  161. Only 1 post per DT a day recently. You think NH asked them to lay it off a bit because it was stifling talk about new release stuff?

Not much talk about the new stuff - before there would be a thread for each new item released, now only a generic 'what are you most excited about' one.

    ReplyDelete
  162. This is like how when I was a kid and I didn't want to eat my dinner, and my parents said there were starving children in China who had nothing and I should be grateful for the food I had. It took me years and years until I realized, me eating my food would not do a darn thing to help those kids in China unless my parents boxed it up and sent it to them. In which case I wouldn't have it to eat anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Does anyone know of an embossing folder similar to PTI's Linen impression plate? I'm not a big fan of the impression plates.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Lol 17:24
We sort of have that conversation at home.
If you want to skip meals that's fine but if you have food on your plate you better finish it. "A lot of people starving" line follows.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I like the SU folder where it looks like fabric. I don't know if it's still in stock or available. Never bought it, didn't want to spend extra on tax and shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I've always thought that the linen/canvas impression plate looks more like a painted cinder block wall once it's impressed. Which could be a cool texture in and of itself if that's what you're going for... but if you want paper that looks like linen or canvas, I don't think this impression plate does the trick.

Oh and sorry, I don't know of an alternative.

    ReplyDelete
  167. 12:11, I'm with you on stationEry vs stationAry. Poor, grounded Santa. I guess Rudolph is sick and the others can get through the fog.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Cannot get into my account. They have not reset password or sent an email. I wonder how many others are in this boat?

    ReplyDelete
  169. 19:24 - I logged a ticket with Zendesk yesterday, and everything was resolved this morning. It now accepts my 24+ character user ID, and I used a temp password from when I tried to reset it myself.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I used the reset feature and got a temporary password pretty quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Lemme guess, it was "password"? hehe

    ReplyDelete
  172. The automated password reset procedure wouldn't send me any email, but when I opened a ticket, I got a prompt response from Julie. She asked me what I wanted her to set for a temporary password. I chose one, then reset it when I logged on.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I was sent a new password but still couldn't login. I have now opened a Zendesk ticket.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Really? A DIE for making tissue paper flowers????

Didn't we and our kids make those in preschool? Kindergarten? Without a die.

Oh my goodness, what is going on? People forgot how to use scissors and their brain at the same time? And this time you can't even say "mass production" -- far more time-consuming to run a die through a machine this time.

    ReplyDelete
  175. And it's $18?!?! And it's #1 - so there will be more?

    ReplyDelete
  176. The usuable space of the tissue paper is so small! I guess you could start gifting bottlecaps and paperclips.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I have to give credit where it's due. The new web site is a vast improvement over the most recent one. The thumbnail images are back and look good. The wish list feature is going to be very useful as well. It will be nice to put older products on the wish list instead of in the shopping cart and then use them to fill in an order as needed. I'm not a unicorn, but a smacker willing to say when I see some actual improvement. Add that to the way Julie has been polite and helpful during the rollout of the new site, and I'm feeling somewhat optimistic about PTI today. I really do want them to succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  178. So, Mish is promoting the new Halloween collection from OA on her blog today, saying "this will be in stores soon!" Knowing OA, that will be what.... around New Year's?

    ReplyDelete
  179. About OA, why is it they are always so slow with new releases? Just like their Christmas line last year. It didn't hit stores fast enough, so I ended up buying it on clearance at the end of December to use this year. The stores can't make a profit this way, so I wonder why they keep buying wholesale. Too bad because their product is cute most of the time, if you can get any of it.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Betsy sure can think out of the box! I don't use favors, but those brooms are cute.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I watched the video in amazement, in awe that NH not only carefully measured the tissue paper, but also recommended IRONING it. For a party favor? I think not. And $18? No.

I know I would use the pillow box die. But there's no way I'll spend $22 on that. Not unless I mass-produce and sell them. Even then, I don't think I could break even ion it. People aren't willing to pay much for gift card holders.

    ReplyDelete
  182. I don't even use party favors and the gift boxes don't hold much either. Too much fru-fru for too much money.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Very interesting that Maile Belles did not use any PTI inks at all for today's pillow boxes and tags - she made a point of saying how much she loves the mint Archival ink. It does look a lot better of course. If I stamped as splotchy-ly as some of the DT using PTI inks it would be in the bin and no way would I add it to my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Noticed the Hero Arts inks on Maile's site too. Good for her!

    ReplyDelete
  185. the cricut art philosophy cartridge has a pillow box and you can size it whatever size you need and mass cut them. It's a great cartridge you can even cut clear acetate with it. just an FYI

    ReplyDelete
  186. OA is much worse than PTI as far as customer service goes. I have several wholesale accounts with scrapbooking companies and I dont bother with OA any more. They ignore emails and are very unorganized. It's a shame because I love their designs.

    ReplyDelete
  187. can anyone recommend some card making magazines?

    ReplyDelete
  188. What a lack luster release for the PTI gang. The stamps are blah, the colors on the cards are hideous, and sausage fingers posted a video of how to use their $18 tissue paper die!

WOW, they must be hurting for revenue!

    ReplyDelete
  189. I agree that the release projects this month are pretty blah. The PTI DT should be hitting it out of the park every month with all the current and past product they have to work with.

To be honest, I haven't been really and truly wowed by a card in a very long time, PTI or otherwise. Can someone please post links to cards or cardmakers that are truly inspirational?

    ReplyDelete
  190. Just ordered more inks from Impress - they get my craft budget for the month. Looking forward to them arriving. Agree with others about the lackluster release for PTI. I liked some of the projects as inspirational ways to use other stamps I already own.

    ReplyDelete
  191. The first two days of release were good, seemed like a lot of stuff. Too much almost. Not enough projects were made with the product. The last two days are booorrrring. Why waste so much time on letters to santa and party favors?

    ReplyDelete
  192. They are talking about the bead die and papers on the forum as if they are going to be released this month. I know during SAF they said they would be released in September but I've not seen anything on the countdown posts. Wonder if they really will release them? My money is on "no"

    ReplyDelete
  193. 12:27 - Actually, those will be released this month according to Nichole in this thread: http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=38192. Looks like there will be yet another group post showcasing the beads and paper tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  194. Hells bells. Another group post on the 15th? Thanks for pointing out NH's post on the topic. Totally overlooked it.

    ReplyDelete
  195. So the new limeaid ice color doesn't look very lime-y. I thought customers were asking for a really good lime green color? Simply chartreuse looks more like lime green than limeaid ice does to me. Granted, I have not seen either of them in person so it's hard to tell... but on some of the design team blogs it almost looks like a lemony yellow color.

And almost everyone's ink looked horribly splotchy today. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  196. It's so nice to know its not just me. When I think of lime green, "limeaid ice" is not it. I don't care for this color at all.

As for two days and all DT spent on letters to Santa and party favors, the explanation is clear: DT posts are always reserved for NH stamp sets. The fact that Lizzie's pillow box die was part of a DT post is amazing. Think about it: when have you ever seen a group post for a non-NH set? That's right. Never. She reserves that attention for herself.

    ReplyDelete
  197. It looks like a sick yellow to me.

We need more space please, master.

    ReplyDelete
  198. I cannot find the thankful, grateful, blessed word dies.
