it's the weekend woohoo!
A little bit late but just a bit. Happy weekend y'all!
LOL, only PTI! On the front page, the free stamp set has a " click here for Details and restrictions". Couldn't they have just left it at "click here for details"? As if everyone is out to steal from them!
I'll give it to Nichole and the DT. They are up early this morning, leaving comments on everyone's blog who links to the SAF activities. Keeps it interactive. Very nice.
I filled my cart up about an hour ago. I just needed to decide on my last $15. Went back to fill it. My cart dumped. My cart never dumps. Guess I should take that as a sign.
My top favorite Fresh Ink is Silver Lilac. Others that I love are Mango, Pink Lemonade, Fuschia, Tuscan Olive, Freesia, Steel Blue, Provincial and Merlot.
I may be ordering French Lavender, Pear, Blue Sage, Chocolate and Gypsy Blue (or Capri) today.
I think we can safely say that Nichole is NOT the one leaving comments. I'm sure she's hired someone for that mundane task - and I can't really blame her!
There's better white cardstock out there. PTIs is cheaper but it's also dingy gray and doesn't take ink as well as a number of other types. Neenah, GinaK, etc.
OMG. I cannot handle NH beating the hell out of the stamp with her stamp pad! I know we talk about that all the time. After watching her with the Palette Noir, I think that's just the way she stamps because she did the same thing with that stamp pad.

When Nichole turns that SAF set flower upside down and BEATS the ink onto the stamp a thousand times, I just have to wonder how she doesn't realize how that looks to customers!
The inks are so poor that the dt cannot get coverage. Their latest release samples were blotchy and horrible where ink coverage is concerned. I can see where a couple of them tried to restamp over the vases a couple of times and still could not get coverage.
Off to buy more Fresh Ink from Impress on the sale!
Happily spent my $100 on Fresh Inks. Who needs a free stamp set when they can get 25% off quality ink? Had to mute NH. The tapping was ridiculous. Plus, one of her leaves at the top left didn't stamp cleanly. Not splotchy, just not there at all. How the hell did she miss a spot?
I have some PTI inks and some of them have terrible coverage issues. The problem is getting even coverage. When you do the multiple tapping it puts on and takes off ink and you have to keep tapping until you've gotten full, even coverage. The dye ink tends to pool up on the stamp. Some of my colors work better than others (can't think of the colors off the top of my head).
No such issues with my fresh inks (pigment) or my hero arts inks (dye I think).
I've only used the Amuse inks which are the same formulation as the Fresh inks. They are easy to work with, good coverage even on solid image clear stamps, dry quickly so less smudging. I'd go ahead & buy them!
I ordered from my iPod Touch as am out of town. I really wanted free set and a few things. Cart didn't dump and payment went ok. Was surprised! Here's hoping order arrives with no glitches. I wish I knew why carts dump as so many people experiencing that still.
@7:05 What's even sadder is a bunch of grown women sitting around bitching and criticizing about people having a great day enjoying their craft. If you don't like it, don't watch the videos and go do something constructive for a change.
I bought all the Fresh Inks except the white, black and putty and I LOVE them. Super coverage and pretty colors. I hope they come out with more since there are big holes in the palette but I guess I could fill those holes with Amuse. I already have dye inks I like so I was looking for pigment and these are perfect. I say push the button. Today, I will be purchasing some of the reinkers.
What's even sadder is that you planned ahead to patrol the smack board on SAF day. That's even sadder than the SAFers throwing parties and earning craft badges!
Does anyone know how long that 'happy birthday' discount will last at Impress? I really want to try the inks, but need to wait a couple weeks before I buy. *crossing fingers*
So 10:06, you're here bitching about people bitching. **shakes head** I've enjoyed the videos today. I think PTI has planned this event well. I have no desire to read any of the forum posts, so I haven't. PTI does have a talented DT. I don't think anyone here can, or does, deny that. I think most of the frusration eluded to on this blog, comes from the business end.
Ugh, was really hoping I could wait. May have to put on credit card for now. :( Really want to try them and getting a 25% discount is too good to pass up.
^^^ The business end, as well as impression plates that don't leave a very deep impression, impression dies that you have to fiddle with to act like dies, dies that are supposed to score lines, but cut through the paper instead, etc. Design and DT is about all PTI has going for it, and we know that the design aspect is NOT original.
@ 11:25 -- you won't be sorry. The colors are beautiful, vibrant, and don't "turn" on you. They dry quickly and don't smudge. They stamp well, even when using acrylic (vs. photopolymer) stamps.
11:20 & 11:40 here.... Went ahead and ordered 8 pads. Can't wait to try them out.

One thing I would prefer is if Impress took PayPal too. So much easier to just log in at PayPal, instead of finding out they don't take it and having to go dig up credit card and type in all numbers and billing info. (3rd World Problem, I know) :)

$32 to send a FREE set to Singapore?!? How the hell can any ethical business owner take that to a customer? Oh. My. Word. Even in this case she won't offer a freaking bubble envelope after the woman spent $100 and is willing to pay for a freebie. Damn that's harsh. PTI lost some big bucks today. A blogger friend posted a couple of weeks ago that she would only place a SAF order IF her release order arrived in a timely manner. She said if her release order must arrive before she would do SAF. A number of her followers said the same thing. Out of 23 women only 2 have their release orders so 21 orders were lost.
My order of 2 packs of paper place right at release have not arrived either. I used to get orders in 48 hours. What do you want to be that they are not even going to get the SAF orders out soon.,
14:54, about the shipping to Singapore: They are not dishonest. It said upfront in the rules that if you bought a GC for your $100, you have to pay the shipping for the set. But I do think they could offer to just put it in a bubble mailer for her, if she says she is willing to take the risk.
I wasn't part of that blog pact but decided I was only doing SAF ordering if my stamps arrived today. They aren't going to be here today, so I'm not ordering, I live in Seattle and went and dropped $120 at the Impress sale instead.
When do GC's count towards anything free? You don't earn rewards on them because they are supposedly like money NOT merchandise. This was a cash grab IMO. And if we pay shipping for the free set, well thats even better for them.
There should be a discount on shipping if it's just the one free set. Anniversary sets were sent for free. I doubt there are a lot of people in Miss Singapore's boat. Stop being cheap Nichole. Mail the set first class and look like a decent human being.

I was almost tempted to buy $100 of card stock but I figured it would all come with bent corners. So I spent $200 between Impress on more Fresh Inks and Clear & Simple Stamps on their July/August release. I really like the apothecary/sweets sets and the cocktail sets. And I know I'll get both orders in good time.

I spent @50.00 at Impress today. They might start offering up discount codes every time that PTI has a big event! I have been using their inks for 1 1/2 years now and I fell in love immediately. It's like 2 taps and your stamp is covered. The only one I haven't purchased is the white...anyone have that one? I heard it isn't quite as good as Fresh Snow, but my FS pad is almost too wet. A Muse Studio inks are just as great...love their new color Burano. Seems to match a lot of patterned papers that have that "off" red color.
I got one of the new Stampin' Up foam pads in today. I think I like them more than my Impress pads. I'll reserve judgement until the rest of my order comes.
I can tell that I'm really over PTI. I forgot about SAF and spent a few hours at the mall shopping the Nordie Anniversary sale with my stamping budget.

The new SU ink pads seem to have a similar surface to Versafine (my all time favourite pad). Trell, do you have any Versafine, and do they compare in consistency etc.
4:10, the best SU match for Ocean Tides is Sage Shadow. The best match of the inks that I own is Versamagic Oasis Green. Amuse Eucalyptus isn't bad either, though it's just a touch too gray.
Is the 'Becky' pictured about half way down that post previous DT member Becky O?! I found a couple pictures of her online, that aren't her FB profile pic, and it kinda looks like it could be.

Someone posted a few days back that you can avoid cart dumping if you have two browser instances of your cart up. I have had minimal problems in the past, but so far, I've had zero problems adding items to my cart. I know we shouldn't have to go to great lengths to avoid this problem...
13:12, I have long suspected they do this. It would explain certain shipping delays and why some people who order later are shipped their packages before those ordering earlier.
Of course, I'm sure they wouldn't fess up to that!
I think especially with special promotion sets they are ordered based on quantity needed. They dont plan on selling them at a later date and they never have any sales to reduce inventory. So they dont want to over buy.
The part that will bite them the most is that PTI is totally responsbility for tracking which orders qualify for the free set. And their record keeping is poor so I hope they can do this for the customer's sake.
I was not home until after dinner last night so I took no part in anything related to the activities of the day. However, I did sit down and review all of the DT projects, looking for inspiration, card sketches, color combos, etc. I think I marked about 4 ideas for future reference. When looking at the forums, it seemed it was mostly the DT talking to themselves and a few others.
What's your take on the day? Was it a big success because they got a lot of orders?
^^^ I dunno, it's definitely not my style but the Rapunzel Sophie is kinda cute. I know my granddaughter would love to get cards made with Riley & Sophie...but I can't justify getting stamps I will use a single time with just her.
I used to like Riley but never bought any of these stamps. Didn't know who to send them to.
SAF looked fun! I am surprised to see Jenn E. and Becky O in one room though. (smiling face) I'm glad I didn't order on that day to avoid the stress of waiting. I will order when it's near the end of the month though.

Final status on my release order placed within the first hour of the last release. Took PTI 3 days to create the label, 5 days to get it to the post office, and the post office took it's standard 2 days so I should get it in the mail today, Monday.
Hey, where do smackers get their envelopes for sending cards? I normally get mine from say, Office Depot, but was looking for some better quality and crisper white.
There is a new CTMH Cricut cartridge coming in the new catalog called 'Artiste'. The catalog will be out next week, if I figure out how to link it later I will. Also there are alcohol markers coming that match CTMH colors. Sold in sets of 2, the coordinating color and either a lighter or darker shade for blending.

The only difference in PTI's shipping is that they no longer email the fake shipping notices. Even that is an improvement I suppose. I ordered during release and the status didn't change for 2 days and then even after it said fully shipped and I had a tracking number, it didn't leave the warehouse for 2 more days.
I have an order that is marked "fully shipped" for 8 days and there is no sign of it. It is 48 hrs. from the pt. they ship until it is at my door. They have not shipped it just because it says shipped. It just means they have your money.
I think that "fully shipped" is the new fake shipping notice. Even after I had a tracking number my order sat in the warehouse for 2 days. ----------------------------- Kinda liked "solved" = "put it in the corner 'til we're ready to bother"
WHY. IN. THE. HELL. would you do a blog post, promoting a product that is from a shop that's "temporarily" closed, with NO indication of when the shop might re-open??? This stamp would be PERFECT for a friend of mine... I want it now! Did this Kelly person take customer service lessons from PTI???
But Becky O has a really crappy opnion of PTI - and she was there with rabid defenders in Cheryl and Cindi at an event that was all about PTI? Maybe not "all about PTI" but certainly a lot about PTI since they projected the videos. Why bother? Did she just want a day out?

Seems a little unprofessional to me to be seen in a somewhat-promotional manner for another company... not that she was doing any kind of spokes-modeling or anything but to even be participating in the event seems disloyal to Gina and the opportunity she has given her to design again.
I disagree..it was just a regional meet up of crafting friends Lots of these ladies meet up on a more regular basis outside of PTI events... So what if Becky was there??

It's a free country and if Becky O wants to craft with her friends at a PTI event she has every right to. Maybe she's more mature than the smackers who just can't seem to let it go.
Yes, but there are also those of us that are just plain curious about Becky O going to a PTI event because of her past discussions about the company. I'm not losing sleep over it.

I bought all the Fresh Inks except the white, black and putty and I LOVE them. Super coverage and pretty colors. I hope they come out with more since there are big holes in the palette but I guess I could fill those holes with Amuse. I already have dye inks I like so I was looking for pigment and these are perfect. I say push the button. Today, I will be purchasing some of the reinkers.

ReplyDelete^^^ The business end, as well as impression plates that don't leave a very deep impression, impression dies that you have to fiddle with to act like dies, dies that are supposed to score lines, but cut through the paper instead, etc. Design and DT is about all PTI has going for it, and we know that the design aspect is NOT original.
ReplyDelete@ 11:25 -- you won't be sorry. The colors are beautiful, vibrant, and don't "turn" on you. They dry quickly and don't smudge. They stamp well, even when using acrylic (vs. photopolymer) stamps.

They have all been working on SAF for months. Her part was likely completed some time ago and NH already had it to use.
PTI lost some big bucks today. A blogger friend posted a couple of weeks ago that she would only place a SAF order IF her release order arrived in a timely manner. She said if her release order must arrive before she would do SAF. A number of her followers said the same thing. Out of 23 women only 2 have their release orders so 21 orders were lost.

But I do think they could offer to just put it in a bubble mailer for her, if she says she is willing to take the risk.

So I spent $200 between Impress on more Fresh Inks and Clear & Simple Stamps on their July/August release. I really like the apothecary/sweets sets and the cocktail sets. ReplyDeleteI spent @50.00 at Impress today. They might start offering up discount codes every time that PTI has a big event! I have been using their inks for 1 1/2 years now and I fell in love immediately. It's like 2 taps and your stamp is covered. The only one I haven't purchased is the white...anyone have that one? I heard it isn't quite as good as Fresh Snow, but my FS pad is almost too wet. A Muse Studio inks are just as great...love their new color Burano. Seems to match a lot of patterned papers that have that "off" red color.

4:10, the best SU match for Ocean Tides is Sage Shadow. The best match of the inks that I own is Versamagic Oasis Green. Amuse Eucalyptus isn't bad either, though it's just a touch too gray.

That's the only time I've ever been grateful for PTI's poor excuse for a website.
Someone posted a few days back that you can avoid cart dumping if you have two browser instances of your cart up. I have had minimal problems in the past, but so far, I've had zero problems adding items to my cart. I know we shouldn't have to go to great lengths to avoid this problem...

I think especially with special promotion sets they are ordered based on quantity needed. They dont plan on selling them at a later date and they never have any sales to reduce inventory. So they dont want to over buy.

An outsider's view of SAF
ReplyDeleteI was not home until after dinner last night so I took no part in anything related to the activities of the day. However, I did sit down and review all of the DT projects, looking for inspiration, card sketches, color combos, etc. I think I marked about 4 ideas for future reference. When looking at the forums, it seemed it was mostly the DT talking to themselves and a few others.
What's your take on the day? Was it a big success because they got a lot of orders?

There is a new CTMH Cricut cartridge coming in the new catalog called 'Artiste'. The catalog will be out next week, if I figure out how to link it later I will. Also there are alcohol markers coming that match CTMH colors. Sold in sets of 2, the coordinating color and either a lighter or darker shade for blending.

I have an order that is marked "fully shipped" for 8 days and there is no sign of it. It is 48 hrs. from the pt. they ship until it is at my door. They have not shipped it just because it says shipped. It just means they have your money.
