To answer your question, YES, I have been on 2 dt's in the past and am on one currently for a well known company that many moved to after giving up PTI.. My blog is my own. In return for stamps, I feature designs using that brand of stamps. There are a number I am required over a period of time. Other than that they have NO control over my blog.

I hate this second page stuff. Could we have a new space please?

I intensely dislike PTI's impression plates. I just can't get a crisp impression with them. Does anyone know of a chicken wire embossing folder?

Ugh. I hate to admit that I really like the whole farm kit-n-kaboodle. However, I'm over six months into my boycott on PTI and I'm not going to cave on this. Has anyone seen similar items elsewhere? (I can completely live without the dies...)

LifeStyle makes an embossing folder of chicken wire, but it is called Whimsy. It makes a deep impression.

Here it is on Amazon.com:

Have you tried all the tips online using them? Make a tighter sandwich, use the PTI (or other) embossing pads, mist lightly? I always feel badly for people that post on the forum saying the same thing ... I have never had a problem getting a crisp impression. It is not as pronounced an impression as an embossing folder (debossed instead of embossed) but it still is quite visible and noticeable.

After reading the following article, it hit me as to what PTI REALLY is missing, integrity. Even IF they manage to get their shipping straightened out, customer service program on track and their quality improves, they will NEVER have integrity. I just don't think these three women have it in them. They have proven it over and over.

One of my favorite sayings, "When people show you who they are, believe them the first time."

I WILL continue to boycott PTI and I WILL continue to buy from Hero ARTS. Please read the following:

I don't want to go to the work that PTI impression plates require.

Did anyone else notice that Lisa Johnson is not included in the group post today? I went back and checked other group posts, and Lisa was always included, even since she took a step back from her DT duties. Me thinks something is up.

love when you wonder where former PTI DT members are or why some rarely post on their blogs anymore.

look in the mirror smackers. yes, this blog and others that mock the DT members' work, looks, and family has discouraged many from blogging.

happy?

If someone is so insecure that this blog makes them give up their hobby/livelihood/self-image then they had probably just flip burgers at McD's. Any artist who cannot take this sort of thing needs to stick to personal scrapbooks.

InkStink said...

Yup, what Donna said. I just want to roll a folder/plate through my machine without all the special needs. I'm off to take a look at your recommendation on a folder.

Donna C. said...

I have that folder and it makes a nice crisp impression. I really like that brand of folders.

10:03 - I totally agree!! The DT gets paid to post on their blogs, and they've signed a contract. I noticed that Maile and Erin listed Lisa in the group post, but they may have missed "the memo." The two links go to Lisa's blog, but to April's release group post. I won't be surprised if Lisa is just fed up with all the ridiculousness that is PTI.

I don't know why the DT have 'email me' links on their blogs, they never answer emails!
I emailed Melissa Bickford asking which font she used for the color titles on her last two blog posts, and of course, no answer.
I've emailed the other Melissa (Phillips) several times in the past with simple questions, and never got a response either.
That just chaps my ass, I'm sorry.

So, does anyone know which font was used for the color names on this post:

I really like it and would like to buy it....

To the person that thinks that the smack blog is responsible for dt members not posting I ask you this- is it not just as possible that they are fed ip with PTI and all of the issues?
I would not want to publicly endorse a company like that either.

Honestly! They ran out of SS white card stock! It's one of their flagship products -- the thing that tempts people to break their PTI fast.
Nichole said they have to shrink wrap more. Didn't anyone notice it was running low?

Beating a Dead Horse said...

Their not out of white cardstock, you just can't buy it right now! LOL Only in PTI land!

Anonymous said...

You mean they have to count out 50 sheets and then wrap it? I figured it came that way. I wonder how long it will take them to do it. Do you really think they get 100 orders a day for the stuff and if so shouldn't it be easy to do 100 packages in a couple of hours?

Anonymous said...

There you go again expecting PTI to be able to handle business like the other companies out there. same old.

Anonymous said...

The farm stuff appeals to me. I'm seriously tempted to let PTI out of the penalty box.

Does anyone know -- when a DT member "creates" a new stamp set, do they actually create it or do they just come up with the concept and send it to Nichole to do it. She shows their sketches sometimes and I'm just wondering, did she happen to create a design team filled with artists who can make stamp sets, or are they all claiming these as "my" stamp sets when really they've just sketched them up?

I'm not trying to minimize their ability to come up with a good idea and be able to convey it -- not at all. There's something to be said for that. I just wonder if it isn't kind of misleading.

Getting sick of the multiple photos - Jessica Witty had something like 7 photos when 2 would do. Wish they'd stop that nonsense.

People were mentioning Lisa Johnson not posting this release but I just went and read at the end of last month's post that she is having some serious health issues.

Anonymous said...

From Lisa's Bog:

p.s. Sorry that I haven't posted a ton this past month. On top of the normal crazy busy that we have going on here, I've been dealing with some health issues. I've been going to PT trying to get healthy but things turned a bit downhill with a bad session with lumbar traction. *sigh* I’ve been taking medicine to help the nerves try to settle down. (and am going to get some injections in my back soon) Things were feeling a little better until I got rear-ended! My first reaction was "You HAVE to be kidding me!?!" So yeah... things are a bit more complicated. The car damage doesn't seem too bad... and all the kids seem to be OK at this point. (Whiplash a little for them.) They are worried about me, those sweet girls. My silly back and neck nerves... they just are zinging me so much now! Whiplash on top of it all is not fun. I DO have faith that things will work out and I'm just going to keep moving forward, stay positive and do what the Doc's tell me to do. It's all making me very grateful for the things that I can do, that’s for sure!!!

Some of the designers actually create their own images via graphic design software (i.e., Illustrator). Others, like the two Michelles, come up with the ideas, but Nichole draws them into reality (also via design software). I would guess that Nichole also takes a bigger chunk of the profit because she puts more work into it than the other designers. And because she has that big fat beautiful house to pay for, and all. Ha!

As for Lisa Johnson, I'd bet big bucks that she's gone. Anyone care to put up a little wager?

What does manu mean? Looked it up twice and looks to be a made up term because I cannot find it anywhere and another dt friend has also never heard of it. As I said, yes, I am on my third dt currently.

Anonymous said...

manu = manufacturer (I'm assuming, though I can't see the context where you are seeing the word used)

Donna C. said...

There were some posts using that term that now have disappeared. I wondered what it meant, too.

Anonymous said...

15:14 here, actually they didn't disappear. I realized that since we have been bumped to page 2, they were back on page 1.

Anonymous said...

do they make any money on those felt share/button shares?

Anonymous said...

Maybe white cardstock ran low when everyone cashed out reward points and ran for the hills. Lol.

Anonymous said...

I don't think that they make money on the shares necessarily but they do get all of the PTI points.
