Joan my heart goes out to you for the pain you feel but please learn how to love yourself enough that the mean things random anonymous people say about you do not debilitate you so. Nobody is going to be loved by everyone. There will always be people who do not like what you (specifically, and "you" generally, everyone) create. It looks to me like you are agreeing with the haters and letting them dictate your level of value for you. PLEASE learn how to disregard the opinions of other people and do what you love because you love to do it. There are SO many people who love to see what you create. But don't let them determine your value either. YOU get to decide your worth. Once you decide that you are valuable from within your inner core, the opinions of other people have no more power over you.

I have more money than talent and I don't have much money. I stamp because it is FUN, not for recognition. Besides, what constitutes talent in the area of paper crafts varies greatly. If you are stamping to become a stamping celebrity then I guess I just don't get it. Stamping is a hobby, a craft. Some people have to be the best at things or they cannot enjoy it. I cannot carry a tune but I love to sing.

As we all know, art is very subjective. We are all different and have different tastes. There are blogs I no longer follow because my tastes have changed. Does that mean that person's work is bad? No. It just means it's no longer my cup of tea.

I'm a sensitive person, which is one reason I don't have a blog. Any time you put yourself out there, for any reason, be prepared to be criticized. There is a big difference, however, in criticizing someone's work and attacking them personally.

03:26, you may want to leave Joan a comment - she said she didn't know how to turn them off but she will read them. I wouldn't expect her to be reading here.

I agree with what you said about not letting others determine your self-worth but if someone is that sensitive to anonymous opinions, then maybe it's better for them to not set themselves up for public comment.

I think she's a terrific lady and I love her sense of humor. It's sad that someone's anonymous comments could make her doubt herself and I hope she is able to get past it.
