  3. Rick, the only reason I come here is for hope, hope that pti will get their %^& together. I'd like to order again (after 9 months) but their website is awful (plus their cs is terrible), so I guess I should just ask: do you know when is the website going to be (ever) fully functional?

  9. I'm more suspicious of Pinterest than I am of PTI! I deleted my boards so I haven't even seen her pins there but I also don't think pinning means doing. If it did, then all of the people whose boards I used to follow have gorgeous houses and gardens, can sew, cook, and make anything under the sun, wear perfect clothes, and are pretty much Martha Stewart clones who like funny sayings.

17:29, do you have a specific question?

    (sorry - reposted)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Was gonna say something mean to 5:29 #1, but I feel like there is a language barrier so I'll hold my tongue and give the benefit of the doubt.

I wonder what is taking pti so long to make a layout change to their site. This is getting ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The style of writing is familiar. I don't know if it's a ruse, a language barrier, or what. I'm with you - benefit of the doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  12. @1748 that is so nice of you. nice to see some integrity. :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. nancy, a ruse it seems to me. she/he has a lot of verve in my humble opinion. maybe it's ted?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I really like so many things but for some reasons I am having a hard time shopping and getting what I want in my cart to pay. i liked a lot of samples.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'll give the benefit of the doubt for now, too. But if it's a ruse, Ted isn't my guess. Familiar writing style, as Nancy said.

  16. You ladies are so amazing.

  17. Since PTI Smacker asked.....PTI is too cheap to hire a proofreader, to hire more CS staff, to get the website changes implemented...too dumb to see that losing a few bucks on an anniversary set a year ago would have saved them thousands of dollars now, too dumb to understand the value of a customer...

    ReplyDelete
  18. 18:37 WOW! U Said that so eloquently. It is such a shame that pti does not read here isnt it? They would learn so much from you all
    :)

  19. Watch your step, ladies. Just step around the trolls and tourists. Don't let them disrupt our space.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, 18:41, aren't you a clever little thing!

Your handslap was as subtle as a fireworks display.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I am not a troll, I was truly giving a compliment. oh well, sorry you dont see it as such

    ReplyDelete
  22. shoot me, i ordered. ordered at 9:30 my time (1030eastern), and I already have a tracking number. Lets see if it moves tomorrow... this would be the FASTEST ever.

    ReplyDelete
  23. If you come that close to sounding sarcastic, when you're here it will probably be read as sarcasm. Maybe you were sincere - it just didn't sound like it.

I like "trolls and tourists" Chris.

18:07, you are having a hard time because the PTI website isn't finished yet.

    ReplyDelete
  24. hope fully you wont be hand slapped for ordering.

    ReplyDelete
  25. nancy, thanks but no thanks

    ReplyDelete
  26. 18:48 and Nichole Heady share the same apology style.

Well, in that vein, I'm terribly sorry, too, 18:48. I apologize for finding your sanctimonious bullshit grating and hilarious.

Carry on with your awesome self.

You're really helping PTI out HUGE with your posts. You make me love the company SO much more than I already did!

    ReplyDelete
  27. 18:21 - I wasn't talking about you. I read your comment as praise, because you're right, we are amazing! Thanks!

Yeah, but they need to be able to READ in order to qualify. Since we know they can't spell, don't hold your breath.

  29. Some of you people are acting like sheeple over the Rick thing. i don't trust him further than I can throw him. And I say that while conceding that he may well be acting in good faith here.

But how can you not see? Of course he works for them! He goes and does things on their forums, he bans and unbans, he sends email messages, knows the ins and out of zendesk, and is involved in fixing the technical issues, he does this and he does that. That my friends means he works for them. Duh!!

Dont be so easily led by the nose and fawn all over him because he's a guy or a novelty of some sort when he might be here for nefarious reasons. I'm NOT saying he is, I'm just saying. Use some logic.

    ReplyDelete
  30. im not here helping out anybody. it seems if your post isnt a bitchy one you are automatically a troll. thanks but no thanks. i thought i could join in but whatever, no skin off my nose.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I we supposed to know what the fuck you are referring to 19:40? Did you not notice most of the posts including your cryptic one, are anon?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think there's a chance two or three or more people posting are being confused with one another.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What nefarious reason could Rick possibly have for posting here?

To hurt PTI's revenue stream by blocking sales to people who have smacked here?

To ferret out our real identities and....do what, exactly, with that information?

Please tell me all of the nefarious things you think Rick is plotting to do by posting here.

I find the fawning kind of strange and embarrassing, to be honest, but I also think Rick's intentions are exactly what he's said they are. Nothing more, nothing less.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Please tell me all of the nefarious things you think Rick is plotting to do by posting here.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How the fuck does anyone know? Only time will tell. Maybe already has for some. I don't trust any of them either and they've done nothing to dispell that distrust.

    ReplyDelete
  35. well for one he could be simply gathering info on who posts here. It must be killing NH to wonder who is posting here. as to what she would do with that info, who's to say. not saying that is what is going on but lets face it, it is pretty weird that he started posting here in the first place. Think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The conspiracy theory is ridiculous. There would have to be motive and none seem remotely likely.

Yeah, for someone dumber than a box of rocks it would be tough to come up with anything at all. bwahahaha, okie dokie

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sucked it up, placed my last order with PTI and used up all my points. Could not for the life of me make it to free shipping so just paid the 6.50. PTI quickly fading in the rear view. Will continue to visit here to keep up with the gong show.

    ReplyDelete
  39. LMAO @ all the conspiracy theories!

Take off your tinfoil hats and step away from the computers, crazies.

PTI can't manage to roll a website out well, ship in a timely fashion or act kindly toward their customers; the level of organization it would take to collect this USELESS data is beyond them.

You can't even give good reasons for why they'd be collecting the information; do you realize how stupid you sound?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Some of us do not live in a state of paranoia. For those that do, get it checked out soon before it borders on psychosis.

    ReplyDelete
  41. We all know the website is a mess and customer service is pathetic. And it's all taking too long to fix. Then at every turn they show that they don't really care if customers are unhappy.

Why would they care about the smack blog?

I doubt Nichole Heady gives one split second of thought to anything that goes on here. Just business as usual.

Do the conspiracy theorists think no one is really anonymous?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Slow down, ladies.

We must remember that Rick is adding all the wild and person info we provide here to his spreadsheet and needs time to record each response.

What if Rick is Santa, or has a direct line to Santa?

Does posting here mean I won't get as many gifts this year?

    ::sad face::

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rick being here is a brilliant business move. Whether intentional or not, it gives the most vocal dissatisfied customers a fast pass through the back door to get issues looked at. Thus keeping them from bringing it to the forum where they would inevitably expose how long customer service takes when using the proper channels and how disfunctionally it is resolved.

I agree with the poster who referred to it as "back alley customer service".

But to each their own. It sure is a lot of time to invest in making a company treat you right. The amount of time and effort that has to be put in just to place an order through that website is mind boggling. It sure does put a damper on a hobby that is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. I don't say any of this in a judgmental way, just as an observer, I find it interesting. It's a dedicated, extemely patient user group that I've never encountered.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, Jesus.

Some people are just so dense.

Yeah, lady....we're all begging PTI to love us again. That's why we're posting here.

Some of you are incredibly sanctimonious and presumptuous. You must be so much fun to know in real life.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Apparently, they're not blowing me off, they're protecting me!

"Your issue has been submitted and may take another couple of days to be fixed. Unfortunately, we are not able to tamper with your account for your protection. All rewards resets are researched, tracked and then updated for your protection. I apologize that it takes so long but there have been so many concerns about fraud."

Really? What/who are they protecting me from? If the owners of the company and people answering CS requests can't "tamper" with accounts, who can? ... I didn't even respond to this latest message, I don't even know what to say at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  46. do i think Rick is taking names? of course not but wouldn't it be freaking awesome if that were true??

is he paid for hanging out here? for god's sake i hope so or else he is as weird as some others hanging around PTI

    ReplyDelete

Just don't come back here whining in a week or two when you get the fall out. I for one will laugh my ass off. Can't figure out whether it's really dumbness or fat over forty year old matrons wetting themselves over the male attention. Either way, pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete
  50. trust him with what info?

    ReplyDelete
  51. and get what fall out? from who?

    ReplyDelete
  52. are you serious?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Are you unable to type a complete sentence?

    ReplyDelete
  54. i really don't think he working a CIA operation.

    ReplyDelete
  55. "no one can fix stoopid" ahahaha. i think this needs to be my new signature.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Riiiiight, because there's nothing between the level of a full blown CIA operation and the likes of NH and/or Julie wanting the dirt on who is posting to the blog. Not in the fantasy world of some of you dumb and dumberer retards anyway. Jeezus wept, use your fucking brains for a whole minute if possible.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Are you unable to type a complete sentence?
    16 April 2012 21:11

    -------------------------------------------

Actually, those are complete sentences. The first letters of the sentences should have been upper case letters, but other than that they work. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  62. maybe it's just a mid level CIA operation.

    ReplyDelete
  63. ^^^ jesus christ, ppl. i have been reading this nonesense all day and keeping my mouth shut. but now i have to comment.

i sent rick my personal information to help me with an issue. and guess what? no F'ing fallout. and guess what else? he actually helped me resolve my issue, which had been sitting idle with cust svc for a couple of weeks.

it's been almost a month and NOTHING has happened. calm the F down!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. :eyeroll:

I don't give a rat's rear if Rick is here at the behest or request of NH and the Js or not. He's here. He can put together some intelligent posts. He seems to have added something to the conversation. I'll take it. If he wants to trace my IP, fine. Whatever.

And in other conversations where I'm late to the party: The whole "Cedar Ridge Nursery" did turn me off GVII. I think people who name their houses are pretentious snots. If you don't live on Southfork, then STFU about the "name" of your house.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's fine with me if people are anonymous. It's fine with me if they're not. I've been out in the open for about a month now, since the day of the forum bans. I don't see any reason to hide anymore. That's just me, though. I've seen no backlash from being here. It's certainly no secret that I'm here. I also have been openly critical on both Facebook and my blog. And yet, I'm back on the forum and posting with no problem.

Do I really think that Nichole and the J's care who is posting here? Not a bit. And if they had a list of names, I don't for a minute think that they could keep track of it long enough to do anything with it. What's the worst that could happen to me? They ban me from the forum? So last month. Prevent me from shopping with them? Too late. I'm not scared.

I really would love to see them turn things around and get the company back on track and shine up their severely tarnished reputation. If they did, I have no idea whether I would ever buy anything again. But I do want them to succeed.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Only "are you serious" was a complete sentence. Please don't offer to do copy for PTI.

    ReplyDelete

I am laughing my ass off at the irony of YOU calling others stupid here.

    1. What highly personal information do you think people have provided to Rick?

    2. What do you think Rick will do with this "highly personal" information? You STILL haven't answered that one.

    3. Other than a few gushy posts, I fail to see the adoration of Rick you're projecting here. I come here for smack, not male attention. (My very handsome husband gives me plenty of that, TYVM.)

So, crazy pants: answer these questions if you can.

Oh, wait. You can't. Seems that there is a lot of the stupids here tonight for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ok, ok, you're right. Only 1 was a complete sentence. Now will you go away?

    ReplyDelete
  69. What happened to our paranoid little poster?

    ReplyDelete
  72. 22:34 is a mature one!

That makes two fat insults in two posts.

Trust me, crazy pants, my SEXY AS FUCK husband and I are doing just fine in the appearance department.

You sound like a little male attention might do you good. Frustrated, much?

    ReplyDelete

Hahaha, he's getting hotter in each subsequent post. By the next post he'll be ON THE COVER OF GQ MAGAZINE and doing one handed push ups just because he can. It's fun how you can be anyone you can dream up on the interwebz LOL

    ReplyDelete
  76. Happy marriages to attractive spouses aren't pipe dreams for all of us, sunshine.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh, and PS: My husband does one-handed pushups and uses the other hand to fussy cut all the stamped shapes I don't have dies for.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Pathetic! My hottie hubs uses the other hand to build space rockets. Your hubs sucks ass!

  79. Shut it now all of you. Get some sleep. I'm checking out supplies and new twine colors on etsy. See ya!

    ReplyDelete
  82. what a bunch of morons.

i know for a fact that rick is an alien from Orbon.

    ReplyDelete
  83. once upon a time there was a company everyone loved. and the blonde princess could do no wrong. perched high on a pedestal, she smiled but kept her distance.

but then the fog lifted and the serfs began to complain. oh princess we have no food.

    let them eat cake.

and the princess sent a knight to juggle and do magic tricks and the serfs loved the knight.

and then some weirdo serfs couldn't sleep and got bored and started writing wacky stuff and the knight saw and reported back to the princess.

    and the princess joined in.

and then the serfs had to leave the country.

    the end.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Woah, 1:41....did you snort a big line of white embossing powder or something?

That was a shitty allegory and you're still not explaining exactly how the juggling knight is going to use all this top secret kingdom info, except that they'll make people "leave the country."

And by "leave the country", I assume you meant "kick people off of the forum or ban them from the store". Can't be sure, since your point was so over my serf brain, though.

Someone thinks she's far more clever than she truly is.

    ReplyDelete
  85. ^^^
1:57 -- you are taking my serf post way too seriously. middle of the night joking from someone bored with the forum and thinking the smack blog has gone off the rails........
i don't think rick the juggler is going to ban anyone. and if he did i would be hugely amused.

what the hell is the matter with everyone?????

    ReplyDelete
  86. 22:30- are you Jenn?
Not that you would tell us if you are, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  87. busted!!!

    or not.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I was going to place one last big order, and by the time I finally got everything in my car (once it stopped dumping) and got other things straightened out - the one set I wanted, that made me finally order, after not ordering for 11 months - is sold out lol. I decided it was the universe's way of calling me a dummy for trying to order again and I did not place the order. I think I'll get a massage and a facial instead.

    ReplyDelete
  89. A couple things that got me wondering on a Tuesday morning:

Did PTI sell out of anything this release?

Whatever happened to RibbonShareGirl? Did she fade off into the sunset after the last share that left her holding miles of ribbon? Did she fulfill her shipments to people?

    ReplyDelete
  90. @ 1:57

"did you snort a big line of white embossing powder or something?"

    bwahahahahahahahahaha

picturing this is going go get me through the morning. thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  91. 04:04 - you beat me to it - was just about to ask the same question as to the whereabouts of ribbon-share-girl..

    ReplyDelete
  92. Well. That was interesting.

My two favorites were: "Then they were expelled from the seventh grade," and especially, "..a mid-level CIA operation." Thanks for the laugh this a.m.

For the record, the other day I mentioned putting in an order to use my rewards/G.C. and it came in record time. Just a stamp set and a pack of white paper, so not rocket science. And I expect good service from other companies so I'm not raving about anything.

But I have posted as myself and the wrath of PTI did not shower down on me ;) . I was not expecting it to.

BTW, Rick, this is the one you offered to check into b/c I didn't get any email confirmation. I stopped caring about emails years ago b/c they usually didn't mean anything anyway. All is well.

That'll be my last order ~ likely forever. Possibly until things change dramatically with the website and CS.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Now there is a Button Share being offered on the forum. Not a bad idea for those wanting a mix of colors, but sounds like a complicated exercise.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I love it.

    But how about this one:

    ReplyDelete
  96. RibbonShareGirl last ordered on 29th February and said she would be doing a bi-monthly share.

Doesn't seem to be any word from her since that last share.

    ReplyDelete
  97. But how can you not see? Of course he works for them! He goes and does things on their forums, he bans and unbans, he sends email messages, knows the ins and out of zendesk, and is involved in fixing the technical issues, he does this and he does that. --------------------------------

I have been getting more and more involved in the last month or so. I see an opportunity to make a difference in the website, CS, etc.. and I have been trying to make things better for everyone.

I work for a large company in Louisville that makes appliances...

    ReplyDelete
  98. He's probably a Bubba McFlabber Pants

    ----------------------

I hate to be a stickler, but shouldn't "McFlabber Pants" be all one word... "McFlabberPants"? or at least hyphenated??

    ReplyDelete
  99. Maybe he decided to keep add his cousin's name to his. You are right, it should be hyphenated.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sorry, I meant "add" , not "keep add".

Too much embossing powder last night I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  101. This doesn't give a very good impression of the new CS forum:

Z'Dana - This is delicious. Thanks for sharing it. It has given me a new perspective on our situation. This isn't just a dirty back-alley smack blog. It's an ivory tower of protection. Thank you, PTI. You really DO care.

    Awesome!

Maybe she can give me a tip on how to prevent any possible "fall-out" I may have from subscribing to this super cool blog the other day. I mean, I did give out my email address... and who knows where that could lead...

    =======================
This falls under the company motto of "We work harder, not smarter." They couldn't answer email to one CS address, so they deleted those, started over, hired Dave, lost Jenn, created zendesk which doesn't seem to do much, created a forum to add confusion, later, rinse, repeat.

    Makes perfect sense.

  118. Help me find a stamp please!!!

I'm looking for a stamp with James 1:17 verse on it, "Every good and perfect gift is from above." Or some variation of that would be fine. I'm hoping to find a stand along stamp rather than a set. Other than PTI and Waltzing Mouse has anyone seen this verse?

    Thanks so much!!

I don't understand the connection with PTI and why some people are joking about it???

    ReplyDelete
  123. Cedar Ridge is the name of NH's big new house (see link on sidebar of her blog). She paid homage to it in the recent seed packet set by using "Cedar Ridge Nursery" in one of the stamps.

  127. Does anyone else find it tacky as hell that Ashley is selling her unused/extra scrap items for $20 a box? (see her blog post from this morning)

I know she has every right, but we all know that most of the product was comped in some way and I find it tacky. Most designers (myself included) give away our extra supplies as blog candy.

As I read her blog post I was expecting her to ask for shipping at the most, but nope, selling them for $20 a piece. TACKY.

    ReplyDelete
  128. No it is absolutely NOT tacky. I sold a house that I inherited for twice what the original owner paid for it. Someone is getting a real deal buying her stuff at those amazing prices. Not tacky at all!!!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Sorry, I have to agree with not tacky. This didn't bother me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I vote not tacky.

    ReplyDelete
  131. OMG 8:22, are you really equating a HOUSE to some papers and embellishments from a CARDS magazine publish box?

You have to be kidding me, right?

    ReplyDelete
  132. After browsing the website issue threads on the forum and reading how they have spent the last two months fixing things that we, the users, can't even see - I just have to ask - what the hell WAS ready when this website was rolled out?? Seriously.

  134. 8:14 here, I guess I am shaking my head because I know most of the stuff was GIVEN to her. I have product sent to me all the time and I would never think of selling it. But from the responses here, maybe I should! lol!

JK, I think still think it is tacky as hell and would never do it.

    ReplyDelete
  135. 8:32 - My opinion is that if the companies who gave her the goods treat her anything like we've seen PTI treat their DT, then she has earned every penny of that $20. I'd consider that small pmt for all of the CS work she has been doing lately. Good for her!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Mish sells her junk on etsy all the time

    ReplyDelete
  137. Lauren Meader sold off a ton of her extra stamp sets a few years ago. I was amazed at the picture she posted. Those gals accumulate so much stuff. Unlike most of us, they've actually used it all too. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  138. If you own it, whether you bought it, received it as a gift, or picked it up off a neighbor's curb on trash day, it belongs to you and you can do with it what you wish. If she wants to sell the stuff, it's her business. In my opinion, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  139. 8:36, that's some funny shit right there.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Chris, I know she has the right. I already stated that in my OP. Question is, do you think it is TACKY?

    ReplyDelete
  141. No, actually, I don't think it's any big deal. Do you think it's tacky because you know that some of the items didn't cost her anything? Why does that matter to you? If you don't want to buy it, don't. Somewhere out there are some crafters who are not yet buried up to their eyeballs in their own excess stuff who will love to buy a box of stuff from Ashley.

    ReplyDelete
  142. First, I wouldn't assume everything she's selling was given to her.

And many people sell used stamping stuff on their blogs all the time. I don't think it's tacky.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Everything went wonky on my screen.

Meant to add: It makes no difference where they got it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I sell stuff in my yard sale all the time. Was some of it given to me? Yes. Was it tacky before I got it? Definitely.

    Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  145. We don't have any way of knowing how much other stuff Ashley gives away. It's possible that she is raising money for charity. Who knows. Who cares.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I don't think that it's tacky but I understand why some might feel that way.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Okay, this is hilarious!

Oh, and PS: My husband does one-handed pushups and uses the other hand to fussy cut all the stamped shapes I don't have dies for.
    16 April 2012 23:11

And Bubba McFlabber-Pants keeping his cousin's name had me dying.

Also, I'm the one who PM'd Granola Girl Dana because I saw someone pasted dialogue between who I thought was her and NH. I couldn't find the thread on the forum so I asked her if it had been deleted. She said she wasn't that Dana and felt like someone was posting using her name. I tried to assure her that wasn't the case and I was actually rather embarrassed that I emailed the wrong Dana. But I'm glad to see she came here to check it out anyway. And I'm glad Z-Dana checked in to give us an update.

So, sorry if anyone thought there was drama being kicked up. No drama. Just a nosey smacker wanting to know what was going on and thinking PTI had buried more threads.

  151. I've decided to do a quarterly assessment of PTI's progress. For all of the supposed website work, and zendesk, and Rick's helpfulness here, what do you Smackers think: Has PTI improved (from a customers perspective) in the last 3 months?

My vote is a clear no. In fact, I think they have gotten markedly worse.

I welcome other perspectives though. I really am trying to wait out this storm.

    ReplyDelete
  152. FUCK no PTI hasn't improved!

    ReplyDelete
  153. I can't come up with a single improvement. All of their effort has gone into fixing messes. No effort has gone into stopping messes. In fact, sometimes the fix is an even bigger mess. Its a hole seen from space now.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Have to agree - the website is really awful to negotiate and it has been a (bad) work in progress now for over 2 months. I have never come across any other company's website that has so many 'glitches'.

As for customer service - hard to know if that is working for anyone now that the 'secret' forum has been set up.

    ReplyDelete
  155. 10.04 here again - and I wonder if the lady (I think from Sth Africa) has her parcel yet which was sitting somewhere in Australia.

And if everyone has finally received their anniversary sets, and prize packages.

    ReplyDelete
  156. No, I don't see that there has been actual improvement. Cleaning up messes, or at least making a lot of noise to that effect, is what I see.

I did think of one thing that is kind of an improvement. They do seem to be catching on to the fact that being snarky with customers isn't working for them. I do see signs that they're trying to phrase things better. I can't count that as an actual improvement, though, since they should have learned to speak politely to others in elementary school. So I'm going to file that one under "fixing messes" again.

    ReplyDelete
  157. ^^^ Yeah do you hear that Rick!!! Nothing has improved!!!

All you are doing is putting out fires!!! To quote you "Nothing more nothing less"

    ReplyDelete
  158. The link to the gallery was added to the individual stamp set pages. Then again this isn't really an improvement for me because accessing the gallery has always been a hit or miss for me personally. I'm sure others are happy about it though.

    ReplyDelete
  159. then so be it. I am doing the best that I can, nothing more, nothing less...

I at least thought it was worth a shot....

    ReplyDelete
  160. Or, he could be doing nothing at all. I think I'll take putting a few fires out for $100.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I don't discount what Rick is doing at all! At least he's allowed to participate in the process. That's more than any other "outsider" can do. Maybe his attempts to help fix problems will quietly provide a good example to the PTI PTB of how to get some things done.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Rick, how many people work for PTI that aren't connected to one of the owners. How many people work in the warehouse?

    ReplyDelete
  163. Along the same lines, Rick, does anyone work in the warehouse at all during the hours when Heskamp Printing is open for business, or is the entire PTI operation an after-hours deal?

    ReplyDelete
  164. ^^^oh puleezze, Rick drops "I'm doing the best that I can" and a couple of bleeding hearts come and say "its ok Rick, we still luv u" BARF

  166. Holy Shit Cakes! My order from the 15th has shipped and is due to arrive this Thursday. THIS freaking thursday, people!!!

I don't know why I'm so excited. Oh wait, I know why. Because I've been hanging out here so much hearing everyone's myriad issues and totally expected the worst. Yes, I ordered even though I know full well there is tons of risk involved.

I'm not saying PTI has changed anything to make their process better. I'm sort of attributing my smooth order to 1) a fluke or 2) fewer people are ordering.

In all honesty, I ordered in the afternoon, waaaaay before release time so as to hopefully avoid the release night drama. Then I received my UPS tracking # and a notice that the label had been printed. But we all know that doesn't mean shit has actually left the warehouse.

Well it shipped from Cinci yesterday. I cannot freaking believe I dodged that bullet. I guess we should see if all my stuff is in the box when it does get to me.

I hate to celebrate this victory....afterall, this is how businesses are SUPPOSED to run, but i really was expecting the worst.

    ReplyDelete
  167. too late for a lot of people for that. It`s a point of no return for me.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Wow, 10:18. Who peed in your Wheaties?

If expressing appreciation for someone who's trying to help makes me a bleeding heart, then so be it. I realize that PTI is a business, and I'm not trying to fawn over Rick. I am trying to balance out your crazy with a little bit of gratitude so that maybe we won't run off the one and only person who seems to give a damn about getting things done.

(Not saying that nobody else gives a damn; just that I haven't seen the evidence of that yet.)

    ReplyDelete
  169. yeah ok 10:20 We believe you (insert eyeroll)

    ReplyDelete
  171. Okay, call me a bleeding heart. I like Rick and I appreciate what he's trying to do. No more, no less. That doesn't mean that I've turned part unicorn. I'm sure he's not here for an anonymous pat on the back anyways.

I won't be ordering for at least 6 months and at this time, I don't see any huge improvement. It is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  172. 10:09 How would you know nothing has improved? Did you place an order and it hasn't shipped yet? Do you have a CS issue that has not been resolved? Or do you just make that assumption based on your complete lack of understanding of what goes on behind the scenes?

If you are not buying, why do you care if the website sucks? I can say for absolute certain that the website did a LOT better this month than last month. Is it perfect?? Absolutely not. Is it being improved upon every day? Yes. Is it ever gonna be good enough for you? I doubt it.

Smack all you want, but when you make statements about things you have no knowledge of...or things that do not and will not EVER effect you, it makes it seem like you are just complaining to complain. And talking shit just because you are full of it...

    ReplyDelete
  173. Rick, how about working on the above noted problem!!!

That would be the biggest help to PTI and customers!!! (insert eyeroll)

    ReplyDelete
  174. Say anything you want Rick. In the end it doesn`t matter. The bottom line is that A LOT of customers have lost confidence in PTI and it will take short of a miracle to get that back. Sorry! :(

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @10:36 I think that's his point. It doesn't matter what they do, it won't be good enough for some. I don't think pti has any interest in gaining those types back as customers. They're more headache than they're worth.

      Delete
  175. Rick, seriously not trying to be difficult - but can you describe exactly what has improved? Because I just don't see it. :(

    ReplyDelete
  176. Nice Rick, PTI customers are now full of shit. Really professional!

    ReplyDelete
  177. I will see an improvement in the website when the pictures get bigger. That's all that I care about. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  178. Wow just Wow Rick.

    ReplyDelete
  179. geesh what happened rick? I thought you were one of the good ones. I know there are probably some people here that like to bitch, but I've been reading the smack blogs for a while and I think overall people just want to have their problems fixed and have a good shopping experience.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Rick, please don't let what is probably 1 or 2 people that are hiding behind the bravery of being anonymous cause you to lose your temper (understandably) under your own name. That will just cause people to gang up on you which won't be fair or helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I personally don't blame Rick for getting defensive but I agree that it isn't helpful.

The only difference is that he is using his own name.

    ReplyDelete
  182. I posted the original question about improvements. The key here (Rick) is that it is from the *Customers perspective*. It is always painfully clear that PTI PTB (and staff, and non-representitive staff) are unable to put themselves into the customers collective shoes and ponder their viewpoint.

Like someone said, you are making "lots of noise" behind the velvet ropes, and maybe you're each sweating because you are working so hard. Are you working smarter? Not apparent to the customer. It is also of concern that it takes forever and a day to get the most simple items fixed. That will never change unless you work smarter.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Damn, lots of angry people here today.

Rick, ftr, I appreciate you and everything that you are trying to do.

Sadly, since you are using your own name, everything that you say can and will be used against you. You are not allowed to let trash talkers get to you or you will get attacked. KWIM?

    ReplyDelete
  184. The first step is admitting a problem. It is not obvious to most customers that PTI is even meandering towards step 1.

    ReplyDelete
  185. 10:20, I'm just shocked you are still ordering.

I guess the "massive customer service email dump-gate" which turned me away from PTI forever wasn't enough of a deterrent for some people.

    ReplyDelete
  186. PTI is a frigging business!!! Not your BFF.
    =====================
Yes, and they are a poorly run one. I believe in capitalism and the free enterprise system. I don't purchase from crappy companies. I just don't.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Okay, so let me get this straight...

Some bitter bitch can provoke Rick to the point he loses it and everyone jumps down his throat when he calls BS???

Did he say anything untrue? NO. Some people *do* just complain to complain. Some people are just happier when they have something to bitch about. Should anyone bend over back wards to make this type of person happy? NO.

Sheesh, smackers are a fickle bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Or, he could be doing nothing at all. I think I'll take putting a few fires out for $100.
    ----------------------------------
I agree that he's done a tremendous amount on the smack blog. Actual problems have been solved by Rick. He has also been the only good PR coming out of the machine ... ever. Do most customers see what happens on the smack blog? Likely not.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I'm not saying PTI has changed anything to make their process better. I'm sort of attributing my smooth order to 1) a fluke or 2) fewer people are ordering.
