Voila!

ETA: Sorry I've been busy- but just a shout out to one of us: omathgoddess. You are fabulous, and I like Math, so you are totally smacker of the month ;) Also a big applause to NuttyLou and all who stood up for her against the crazy med school bitch.

I thought we were on the same side initially and appreciated the moral support. But it has become quite clear from reading your posts on here, the PTI forum, and SCS that we are not on the same side. I simply want my issue resolved, not the complete downfall of PTI. I do not appreciate being used as a pawn in your vendetta against PTI. Your constant bumping of threads, that do not really concern you anyway, is not going to get my anniversary sets sent to me any quicker. Or get anyone their refunds faster. In fact, it is just pouring salt on the wound."

Oh trust me, I have STOPPED. I've stopped ordering, stopped posting on the forum, stopped recommending PTI to others, stopped giving PTI credit on my blog.

I REALLY want PTI to be successful. I love their innovative designs and topnotch cardstock. BUT, I will NOT support a company that is disrespectful, lies and puts the almighty dollar first and foremost. PTI will do well to remember, you don't make money if your customers are shopping elsewhere. I AM shopping elsewhere, and will continue to do so.

  3. Do each of you who post here have one PTI bad event that "turned" you so to speak? (To the dark side, hahaha). Or is it more an accumulation of things over time?

For me personally, I have only had one problem with CS and they never dealt with it properly. I can learn to accept that and get over it.
When I see them do the same/similar things over and over and over again I get angry.
The thing I want to speak up about the most is the 'unseen customer'. Customers on the forum can choose themselves if they want to post a message directly and follow up their own issue but SO MANY CUSTOMERS ARE NOT ON THE FORUM. They aren't given any information because it is not sent via email/on the blog or on the website. How do they know there was website issues and to send an email, jump twice and do the Hokey Pokey to fix their problem? SO they send an email to CS (if they can even find that info.) and it is deleted - how do they know that?
PTI IS RIPPING IT'S CUSTOMERS OFF by not providing everybody with the same information.
I am willing to be patient if I know there is A problem and they are fixing it but they continually have more and more problems because they ignore the old ones and just keep going. They address nothing.

They say they care about their customers and act in completely the opposite manner. They don't even admit when they have a problem and explain why.

SO what about all those customers that won't get the information? Their attitude is - screw them, they don't count because they don't make any noise.

I was "turned off" to PTI over time, little by little. I got in at the tail end of the initial ink issue. I think I realized just a few weeks before the send back deadline that there was a problem. I must not have been very active on the forum. Then there was an issue with being charged the wrong amount for a stamp set and PTI just charged my Paypal without notification or my authorization. There were things I read on the forum happening to other shoppers that I didn't think were being handled in the right way (CS issues) - made my blood boil. Lauren leaving in such an abrupt manner and now I find out she was treated badly. Nicole's condescending forum posts with passive aggressive overtones. The first time PTI attempted to launch a new store website during a release was a poor attempt and I couldn't believe the poor business decision, but they turned around and did the same thing a second time - stupid. The idea that people were not sent prizes and anniversary sets timely is unforgivable. It all adds up to - I'm done with them.

I don't know if the OP will come back but I took her message to mean that she doesn't need people just bumping her thread for the sake of bumping it and that some people are out to just be snarky just for the sake of it.
I didn't see her minimizing any issues but just asking that we not "help" her anymore.

There are some defenders that just come across as wanting to stir things up instead of sticking with legitimate issues. You know the sarcastic digs that don't really belong in a thread. That's what I am taking away from the OP not wanting help.

  9. I have been quietly watching since the Karen incident. I just couldn't believe that she could be treated that way. I totally think that if she had not actually posted the email from Julie that nobody would have believed her. To think that a company owner would actually speak to a customer like that was mind boggling.

Seeing the past dt members speaking out was a bit of a wake up call too. It showed me that there are always 2 sides to a story.

  10. Sorry - I posted this on the old thread...

Thanks for letting me know that my "help" is not appreciated. I figured from the number of pms I have received from irate customers and the support I have had from people on here that I was helping keep the real issues in the spotlight.

For the record, I do not want the complete downfall of PTI. In fact, I would love it if PTI could turn things around. However, I would be surprised if this set of events, which seems longstanding, does not do some lasting damage to the company.

I will not feel personally responsible if things get worse for PTI. But I do take some credit for making some things better. I believe that some of the most recent responses from PTI have been a direct response to bumping of the most serious threads on the forum by myself and other individuals.

I would appreciate it if you could send me a pm, so I know not to bump any threads where you have an issue.

Also, not all posts on this blog under my name have been posted by me. I haven't felt the need to post anonymously on this blog.

  14. Message for Omathgoddess - I saw your latest post on the "serious question" forum thread asking if Linda was the original poster. I was the original poster. I have since been banned and no longer have a voice. I am lurking under the name "Banned_02" though. In response to your question to Linda - I didn't consider myself vocal either. I've been on the forum for years but this was the first post I had made in forever (at least a year, maybe two?). I don't feel that I violated the forum terms...and I walked on eggshells with politeness anyway. Like I said above, apparently it hit a nerve..

Either that or my atrocious spelling/grammar errors for me booted off the island. It really sucks though because I no longer have any contact with my stamping friends, or have a voice on the forum. It really was, just as stated, meant to be a "serious question". Yikes.

  15. Karen is a lovely aussie lady that had a defective die and was asked to mail it via first class mail to Papertrey. She did mail it and the total cost was $23 which she was told would be reimbursed. When her email was passed along to Julie, Julie said that there is no way that they would ask her to spend $23 on postage and that it was too bad that she misunderstood the mailing instructions but that she was out of luck in having the money returned.

In total frustration, Karen posted a plea to Nichole on the forum and Nichole backed Julie up in a passive/aggressive way. The forum exploded with people telling Nichole and Julie that they were mistreating Karen and then Jenn decided to refun Karen the money (after LOTS of uproar).

Nichole then decided to close the "Ask the Papertrey" forum because it became much like the stamping board is today - full of complaints.

I don't know if anybody saved the original thread. It was posted on the original PTI smack board before that was closed.

I hope that I got the facts correct.

  16. Oh, and in my rambling I forgot one more message for Omath:

FWIW: I DO appreciate you bumping threads. I think it is making a difference. Some may say they don't want to see it, but the truth is...it IS getting those issues some attn by the PTB.

Just as Jenn so often said "email CS with that..." then proceeded to hop in randomly and answer questions on the forum. The squeaky wheel IS getting the grease...that's a fact. Playing by the PTI rules doesn't get anyone very far.

Need to stay smack in PTI's face til the issues are resolved or they will never resolve them. Also I am so sick and tired of hearing Dawn refer to her "hottie hubs". Based on her comment about needing the $$ from PTI and therefore being against putting off the release maybe she should have married some one with less looks but who would be better able to provide for their family. 20. omathgoddess, I feel bumping issue threads is a good thing, and it's not so different from Dawn invading the forum with sunshine. I saw her clog the forums this morning and I had to roll my eyes at the hypocrisy.

If a thread stays on page 1, newbies to the forum will have a better chance of reading them; so they will get attention (hopefully) by PTI PTB. This is simple psychology and it's odd to me that anyone with a "real issue" would refute it.

I wonder if the OP is asking that you tone down some of the snark? The only reason why I make that comment is because of the thread today where you and barbara sent sunshine to each other. That cloaked snarkiness bothered me a bit as well. And although I agree with it, I'm not sure that should be so blatant to all the Unicorns. They'll jump all over it and try to get you banned. Just MHO...

When PTI looked at my order after Debbie stepped in, it looked to them as if I just didn't enter the discount code at all. Apparently, they don't see the whole actual order with the comments section. 29. Accidentally posted on the old thread too:

It was an accumulation of things for me as well. I won a prize that was sent very slowly and was ultimately not correct when received (contained a set that was not part of the stated prize, from a previous release, which I already owned). Julie tried and tried to convince me that I should just keep the wrong set and call it good. I insisted on getting the set that I had actually won. She made it clear to me that I was a huge pain in the ass for insisting on getting it corrected. It took at least four or five months from the time I won the prize, but I did eventually get what I won. I bought all of almost all of the V1.0 inks, and every problem that was reported with them, I had. I ended up not bothering to send back the subset that they offered refunds on, due to the hassle factor. Then I started to buy the V2.0 inks. That stopped with the Hawaiian Shores debacle. I had one set with a manufacturing defect that I tried to get corrected, with no luck (a sentiment stamp was missing a letter at the edge - no "C" in Christmas makes a pretty worthless stamp, right?) So I had issues of my own piling up while I was reading the increasingly bad stories on the forum. I finally woke up, and now I'm finished. I truly hope that PTI can pull this out, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I won't try to bring them down (they're doing a good enough job of that on their own), but I'm not sending them customers any more, and I'm not giving them any more money.

I think the disillusion started when I read Karens post. I had seen Jenns snarkiness and it always offended me a bit, along with her bitchy things she pinned on pinterest

I ordered a few times in the fall with a shipping buddy and will order no more

  33. I went to see the update on the order comments section issue and now see this exchange between Carmen and Debbie:

    ----------------------------------------------

Re: Now I am REALLY getting angry....
by Debbie Olson » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:25 pm

Carmen, I am guessing here, but when an order is initially processed, I'm pretty sure that the comments section CAN be seen. It's just that later in going back to look at the main database to try to determine what happened, only the basic information would be available in that. I don't think it was a case of "let's ignore the comments," but rather just a lack of all of the information being available when it was revisited. However, MintStamps was taken care of, as she stated. I hope that helps!

    ----------------------------------------------

I might be being obtuse here, but I don't get it. I thought those comments would be processed with the order before the order was charged and shipped out. PTI made such a big deal about putting so many different types of notes in the comments on release night. So then what happened - how did they miss so many notes? ("so many" being quantified by the number of issues posted to the forum)

And now they are in a situation where they have to go back to the database to figure out what happened to all of these orders, only to find that the database didn't track all of the order details? Now I see why PTI is so backlogged with issues.

    ReplyDelete

  35. What turned me?

I returned 2 bad ink pads and fortunately paid for the postage with VISA so I had a record. I never got credit. I contacted them and Julie said I had not sent them so I told her I had a copy of the recieipt at which point she apologized and told me she had received them after all and would credit my PayPal. No credit. Weeks later I contacted her and she rudely told me to look at my account. Nope not credited as she insisted she had done. She then said she had forgotten and she would do it. 7 months of going back and forth and I finally got credit but only after she made me feel like a total liar, obsessive, and at fault.

    2-Then the Karen incident.

    3-Then others started coming forward.

4-Then I was overcharged by $6 and despite my contacting them it was and still is ignored.

5-Rudeness by Nichole and then others on the forum.

6-The recent SASE situation and the deleting of emails.

If people tell you who they are, believe them. They have told me and I believe. I was a victim once., To continue makes me a volunteer. Won't do it.

This is exactly what I meant. There are many people that have issues, and I am not trying to minimize any of those issues. Early on it seemed most "bumpers" had good intentions and actually wanted to see people get resolution. Lately it seems some people just want to stick it to PTI any chance they can get. Maybe this is what omathgodess is trying to do, maybe not. But that is certainly the way it looks, at least to me. I did genuinely appreciate the support early on. I just don't think some of the comments being made now are all that supportive or helpful. At a certain point, when the snark is so in-your-face, people are going to stop listening. Maybe they have already. Maybe that is why Miss T got special treatment. Maybe not. I don't really know. What I do know is there are several people, omathgodess included, that I used to agree with and enjoyed reading their posts. The last few days I have found myself rolling my eyes when I read their comments. I have put several of them on ignore. Like Lou and Karen. Their back and forth "how was your week" "busy, and yours" in a very serious thread about people trying to get their anniversary sets hit a nerve with me. While I was very supportive of Karen during her mess with PTI, I certainly did not feel the same respect and support from her.
I guess what I am getting at is if you feel the need to reply to a thread to keep it up at the top, maybe just cut back on the snark a little? While I do think speaking up is a great way to get some resolution, I also think you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Do each of you who post here have one PTI bad event that "turned" you so to speak? (To the dark side, hahaha). Or is it more an accumulation of things over time?
    ----------------------------
It was an accumulation over time. I was stuck also with version 1 of the inks. When I contacted CS about one of them, I was told to send pictures and then Jenn's reply was....thats what mine looks like. Needless to say I knew I wasn't getting anywhere there so I dropped it(just like they wanted). Silly me kept ordering....then my orders took about 10 days to get to me. People in California were getting orders before me...........I LIVE IN OHIO. I really think the thing that opened my eyes was the whole binder issue. If PTI didn't want to incur the cost of sending them out seperately, then ship those orders without the binders. Thankfully I wasn't one of those people, but it sure was an eyeopener.
Nichole said once that as long as customers kept buying cardstock, they would release it every month. In no time it started going to every 2 months and now it is whenever they feel like it. Every time you turn around something isn't released because the protype didn't meet their standards? Don't you plan for this months before the release to make sure everything is a go? Bakers Twine, I ordered it when it first came out, ordered a replacement for a color when it was getting low and it was a totally different color than the first. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. I just don't trust them anymore. Don't care if they pull out of this or go down in flames. Just don't care anymore. I have found other places to order my supplies. Took me awhile to get here, but thank heavens I have. My life will go on no matter what happens to PTI. I come here to get recommendations on other sites, and to get a laugh or two out of posts, especially the gift certificate post. I still laugh just thinking about that. I will also say it does my heart good to see others standing up for one another. Oh and Barbara and Omathgoddess, love you guys. Sorry for the length of this post.

I only have half a dozen or so stamps sets and about that many colors of cardstock so I "turned" pretty quickly. I'm not nearly as patient as most of you have been! After I ordered the last time, which was at least a year ago, I can remember posting on the forums that I was having trouble getting excited over the new release when I hadn't received my order from the last one.

So that coupled with the fact that I have always found Nichole to be a snarky, passive-aggressive witch convinced me to find other places to spend my money. I'd check back every couple of months to see if things were getting better. Obviously they weren't.

Just an FYI, I recently ordered from Clear & Simple Stamps. Got a couple stamp sets and several packs of cardstock. I like the quality of the stamps and the cardstock, while not as heavy as PTI, is very nice. The shipping and packaging was great and they included a little package of something as a thank you for ordering. I get the impression that this is a very new company just getting its legs under it so I'm hoping the website and variety of stamp sets will improve as they go along.

  49. Now that the problems are all but forgotten, how long do you think it will be until the next blow up?

Personally I am out. Since I am not ordering I know that I won't have problems. I will just quietly feel sorry for everybody that does. Well, the newbies that come to the forum looking for answers anyways.I will have less sympathy for those that continue to order knowingly.

  52. Gina K recently posted this on fb: "When people hurt you over and over, think of them as sandpaper. They scratch and hurt you, but in the end you are polished and they are all used up."

That, in combo with how many familiar names from the stamping community "liked" or commented on it....really made me feel the power of the tide that is slowly catching up with pti.

Gina is so classy. She would never directly say it was about PTI, just that it applies to a "true story". Whether she had PTI in mind or not, I thought it was great food for thought here.

    ReplyDelete
  53. How issues are resolved tells us more about a company than if they had no issues at all. I have come to realize the same holds true for other stamp companies / DT members / etc and how they handled *their* issues with PTI. I have SO much respect for people like Becky O, Geny, Gina K, Lauren Meader, etc etc now that it's all coming out in the wash. They must have been seriously pissed when they were burned by PTI ... but all this time later the stamping world is seeing how gracefully they handled it. Add them to my list of people I feel deserve some good Karma.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I agree about the ex dt members of PTI. Even after people made assumptions that they were fired or bad dt members, they stayed quiet and held their heads up high. Had they spoken out they would have just looked like sour grapes at the time but it's good to hear that there are 2 sides to every story.

  56. DT member Ashley posted the following on the "serious question" forum thread:

In response to some of the issues brought up in this thread, Papertrey Ink has given the following statement:

All anniversary sets, according to our database, had been shipped out some time ago. It was brought to our attention that a small handful (about 25 people) never received the original shipment. We had Jennifer collect a list of people that had not received the original shipment and reshipped those sets earlier this week. We are confident that these last few folks will have their sets in hand within the next week, with international customers taking a bit longer because of shipping times for that distance.

In regards to the original poster disappearing from the top of this thread, we do not know why that occurred or what the circumstances are surrounding the incident. We will certainly try to diagnose the situation and we apologize for any confusion that may have been caused because of this.

  58. What makes me laugh about that serious question thread (in a crazy, sort-of "lock-me-up-now" kinda way) is that MissyC disappeared for asking the question, then Jenn E disappeared for answering. Now PTI is looking into why.

Hmmm....why someone disappeared for asking if they are scrupulous, or why someone disappeared for answering that they were. ??

I love a good communist government soap opera. Lol.

The sets were mailed but customers didn't receive them...or the post office didn't deliver them....or they didn't submit the right "proof"...and international customers live too far away thus creating the delay for themselves...

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm not picking on Ted in particular here, but this is an excellent example of the PTI defenders who have no idea what they are talking about. Ted says:

Joan, I believe Rick is Admin of the site (website, forum, etc.)

I don't believe he has any control/knowledge of the workings of PTI, the actual company.

Thus why he was able to explain about the "five-posts-before-automatic-submission" policy...
    -------
Umm, ok Ted. Rick happens to be Julie's husband. If he doesn't have knowledge about the workings of PTI then I am not sure who would. There must be some wishful thinking on the part of the defenders that PTI is bigger and shinier behind the scenes than it really is.

It's a wonder to me you seem unwilling to be educated. Do you pronounce the French word bouquet with the "t" sound since that goes according to English phonics? The CORRECT pronunciation of the the Hawaiian name (which is a different language than English) is My-lee. That's what's inherent about a different language, our English rules DO NOT apply. Here are some links on the Hawaiian language and a link saying the correct pronunciation of the name, to show you I'm not just making it up. I'd be careful in throwing around insults at people when you are the ignorant one.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

    Oh, dear white handslappy Googler:

You can refer me to misinformed websites run by white people who don't know much about the actual Hawiian language all you want, but that won't change what my HAWAIIAN born (half actual Hawaiian and half Japanese) husband says about "Maile".

People who truly speak Hawaiian laugh their asses off at people like you - the Mil-EE is actually how EVERYONE would know you don't speak Hawaiian. REAL Hawaiians (who can also read and speak their own language) pronounce that name "Mai-luh".

Thanks for making my day, though! You over-investment in Maile's STUPIDLY spelled name, and your over-confidence in your absolute ignorance has had us all giggling today.

As my husband would say, "silly haole".

I can google sites that agree with me, too, toots:

    http://www.localkinehawaii.com/hawaiiannames.html

Add to that the fact that MAILE is clearly not Hawaiian, and, well, again....confused about why, if her mommy and daddy wanted to name her after Miley someone or other, they didn't just spell her name properly.

  74. @10:17 - Bringing up the Cameo is perfect timing. My situation with my Cameo was similar to my situation with PTI, but goes to show how customer service makes a huge difference.

I bought a Cameo at the end of last year and, upon using it for the first time, had many issues with the blades. The first blade broke then the second one soon followed. I was super frustrated and tried multiple paper types and thicknesses, trying to achieve a clean cut. I sent CS a couple of emails, tried their suggestions, and was ready to send my Cameo back after the first month.

But because of the responsiveness and helpfulness of their CS team, I am sticking it through. The CS team responded to every email and phone call, sent me 2 replacement blades free of charge, and told me that this situation was not my fault. They explained that customers were misusing the blades unknowingly and that Silhouette needs to do a better job educating their customers on proper blade usage.

Unless a better product comes out, I am a Silhouette fan for life.

Left a real bitter taste in my mouth - and I didn't think that was possible after all PTI's nonsense and completely backassward way of running a company. And now they ban people and say they have no idea how that happened. But notice it's not any of their defenders, it's just the people who have called them out. More PTI lies lies lies.

  84. I doubt 13:08 was Julie. I think the poster was just pointing out that just because you are married to someone doesn't mean you understand the inner workings of their business. My hubby is a realtor and I make cards for him to give his clients when the deal is done. But I have no idea what all goes in to selling/buying a house. Just like he helped put together my craft room and built me storage items, but he has no idea how to make cards. One has nothing to do with the other.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Gotcha 1:33

I still think Rick knows more about PTI than Ted's quote above implied.
    1) Rick is Julies husband and Janes son in law
    2) It IS a close-knit family business
    3) Rick is heavily involved (his own words) in the IT part of PTI... If not THE whole IT dept
    4) He used to be a forum regular and got to know many of the orig customers.

My pt in quoting Ted is WHY Ted is so defensive of PTI when he doesnt even know the basics of who makes up that company. NOT saying *every* spouse knows their spouse's business.

    LMFAO!

Oh, and to the handslapper: the whole point is just that: words are pronounced a certain way for a reason, right? Because there are rules to language that don't just go out the window when you want your precious snowflake to have a clever name?

  92. I'm sure we've all guessed at how miserable Nichole and the two J's must be to work with.

Imagine being on the DT, having time constraints, and depending on Julie or Jane to get something to you in a timely fashion....argh! Or dealing with all that passive aggressive bullshit on a constant basis.

What I'm curious about, though, are the deeper issues that it seems Lauren, Becky and others are hinting at. I bet Nichole, Julie and Jane are praying that none of the behind the scenes stuff comes out - I'd be willing to bet they've got some level of disdain for the people who've lined their pockets.

Instead, Papertrey Ink has now involved: Jenn, Dave, Nichole, Dawn and a couple other members of the DT. All of whom have ZERO authority to do anything.

So PTI has paid several people to do NOTHING (even though they've tried) and not resolved a damn thing.

At the time I was still on the PTI bandwagon and was shocked to hear what she was saying ... to the point that decided that person must've been jealous/wrong/rude.
