PTI stands for Papertrey Ink. This is a collective smack blog and Papertrey Ink review page. Papertrey Ink's continuously poor customer service has lead to a page dedicated to discussion of this stamp company and recommendations for alternative stamp companies. Minimal censorship here- I prefer to leave it up to posters' discretion.
The opinions posted on this blog belong to our visitors and we are not paid for our honest reviews ;)
Good to see people are getting resolution to their prize package situations. Firmly believe it would not have happened without what went on over the past week and a half. Also firmly believe there was a big drop in paying orders. Got their attention ..... for a while.
Glad to see a timely resolution for the overdue prizes, but now that they're issuing gift certificates instead, wouldn't the winner need to spend $70 minimum to qualify for free shipping now? Unless they're willing to pay $6.50 local shipping, or $20+ international shipping.
A gift certificate allows previous prize winners to order whatever they want though and it is an immediate resolution. The shipping charge IMO is a small price to pay (unless you are Canadian or International).
In my opinion, it is due in large part to people who are frustrated and have serious customer service issues feeling like they are actually being heard and actually being helped by the DT members rather than be rudely talked down to from the person who is supposed to be the voice for the company. The absence of one person has made a significant change.
I'll be the first to admit, when the DT members came on the forum last week, I was very skeptical and thought that it would just be another log in the every so long log jam. To my pleasant surprise, their presence had the exact opposite effect. There has been a lot of progress in getting issues resolved and that is directly attributed to the DT members.
I do hope in the long run, PTI turns around because I would love to spend my money on their great products.
Ami ----------------
Totally agree with this as well! Jenn's a bitch and it's great that she's been MIA. Hope it stays that way!
So to all of the people on the forums that are thinking that Papertrey would have come to these conclusions on their own (as littlebirchtree suggested) - NO they wouldn't have!
The changes are only coming about because of the vocal forum members that made the suggestions. There is no doubt in my mind that those 3 ladies would never have even come up with the ideas to begin with.
Let's hope that they are finally getting it. I am not holding my breath and I still will not be ordering unless in 6 months from now, I see real change.
Nichole posted somewhere over there (can't find it to link) that gift certificates count as "real money" and that it was charging shipping on a GC order was a "glitch" that she would look into. Not sure there was ever a resolution. Their entire GC system is FUBAR'ed. And every time I type "GC" I get all Bevis & Butthead "hehehe, do you know what that means? hehehehe" because GC is the abbreviation for gonorrhea (used to work in a doctor's office)
First of all, Thank You! to all the posters that have said nice things.
Second, I want to address two post from the previous blog post.

I am pretty much in agreement with everything Guatelica says, the only thing is, she made this thing about saying Good bye (sic) PTI! And then is still there posting over and over and over again. If you say goodbye and are still a dominant poster, it's like you're just there to stir trouble, which, I don't have a problem with - LOL - but I think it lessens your credibility or something, KWIM? 19 March 2012 03:57

Just out of curiosity, if you are never buying from a company again and make a very public scene about your decision to never buy from that company, why on earth would you want to continue to take part in that company's online community? The forum is paid for by PTI for their customers. It is a place where their customers can get together to discuss PTI products. If you are no longer a customer and are no longer buying their products, why still participate in their community? I just don't understand. You've made it clear you hate the company and those involved in the company, why stick around and interact with the people/company you hate? 19 March 2012 05:20
3:57 I guess when I chose the name of the thread, I was expecting that people would read my post and understand that I was telling PTI that I wasn't buying again, not that I was planing on never being seen again. I was hoping that if enough of us made a public statement that we wouldn't order, PTI would understand how bad thing were... Wishful thinking!
5:20 I will answer this as if you are speaking directly to me...
First - I clarified above the intention of my post. Second - I keep coming back because I like some of the people in the forums and I do own quite a few of the PTI products. Third - I never said or insinuated that I hate the company or the people that I interact with. I strongly dislike PTI's actions and Dawn's sunshiny and fake (in my opinion) personality, but that is not hate. And last - This is the only way to keep informed.
I think that everyday that goes by, things look bleaker, but my hope is that PTI sees the light, so to speak, and changes their ways. If they could become the company that they are capable of being, I may someday be a customer again.
Why the heck does it always take Papertrey so long to do the right thing? I guess maybe because they never think of it on their own?
I will watch for the next issue (missing stamps from stamp sets, lost pallets, website glitches) to see how they resolve it. Until then,I won't be ordering.
I think it may have taken them this long because the needed to see the effect on sales for a release. I think it is very telling that they have so few things OOS right now. I think that is the ONLY things these women truly understand.
Yeah, I'd love for Ted to stay in his own forum and never see him on the PTI forum again!
I got the "goodbye PTI" original post and would've joined in except obviously so many did not get the point of saying that. Sorry it didn't work out as intended.
I don't know what to think about the CS link being on the store page. Yes - great, those not "in the know" will know. But - just broadcast the creepy message that we're dumping emails?? I would've written a NEW CS message myself.
12:32, you're right, GCs used to count toward free shipping, but they broke it sometime since the new web site roll-out. Not sure if they've fixed it yet.
I used to have Ted on ignore, but I couldn't resist the trainwreck. At least he stopped with the green text and the moving smiley face at the end of each post. Now with the new avatar looking like he's going to eat your face off, I am considering the ignore feature again though.
For anyone keeping tabs on my obnoxious PTI problem ... I have now been deleted from the forum FIVE TIMES. Each time I create a new login, sometimes using a new em adds in case they automatically ban me using that ... It lasts about an hour and then my login is "no longer active".
So for all the "pruning for speed" talk ... I've sure had more than my share of "just coincidence"
Wish the DT could sprinkle sunshine on my problem. Lol.
From the last thread: ------- Wow - there are only 4 comments on NH's MIM post by mid-morning her time. Usually there are hundreds. What's the deal? -------
I've never seen "hundreds" of comments on a MIM post. If you click on her keyword for MIM in the sidebar and look at the last several ones, the most comments that appear are around 20 - 30 (and that's long after the original post).
I may have to post this on other forums as well ... to encourage those, like me, who have been banned from the forum, to em CS with allllll questions. One question per email.
Yes, I am pissed!!
19 March 2012 07:15
MissyC, if you keep emailing them they will block your emails too. I supspect they have "pruned" you via your IP address, so making a new user ID won't get around it. And obviously it is deliberate and targeted at you personally, not some coincidence.
I can tell you this much, if this happened to me I would be making such a loud noise about it wherever I could, they would beg me back :D
btw, did you have specific CS issues with them at the moment and what are they? Just wondering...
@ 1:26 ROTFLMAO!!!!!! I thought the same thing about teds avatar!! Holy smokes that is NOT a good look! But it beats T's. Hers always made me think she's advertising herself for sale
I do have specific CS issues which I have never aired except by playing by their "em CS rules" ... having never heard back is when I got frustrated and posted on the forum ... which led me here.
Kind'v hard to make any noise at all with those circumstances.
Extra frustrating to learn some customer have posted to the forum that "things are looking better" ... the truth is that is just smoke & mirrors.
I do hope for the best for PTI, but they are STILL duping people.
MissyC, I was asking what the specific issues were because that would guide me how I would handle it now. They have basically cut you off, said fuck you, and stuck a cherry on top.
First off, if I haD a registered friend, I would post via my friend with my problem, just to embarrass them. Or you could get around the IP block by using a different computer or location.
I would also be posting on other major boards like SCS and 2 peas about what happened and what my issues were. I would give them the bad PR they deserve.
And if appropriate, depending on what the issue was, I would be contacting my credit card company, filing a PP dispute, whatever.
I just feel like I bought hot goods from the back of a van. Now the van is gone and I just have to suck it up to being dumb. Maybe cutting me off is divine intervention because I couldn't give it up on my own. I think I'll just take the loss, and walk my nameless voiceless ass away.
Sorry for anyone else this did/will happen to. I hope the unicorns revel in the sunshine. Ignorance truly is bliss!
MissyC, you need to use an anonymizer or whatever those damn things are that route you through a million different countries and IP addresses -- then they can't block you that way. I was thinking what a PP said, they've targeted your IP. My guess is they will "never receive" your emails, either. I'd be sending them a certified letter, return receipt requested. And if that didn't work, I'd get an attorney to write a letter. Krillsister said her son or SIL (can't remember which) is licensed to practice in OH. Maybe he'd help.
I think everyone is jumping to conclusions about Missy C. Why would they go that far with her and not others that were much louder and more aggressive? And why are you trying to egg her on and fuel the fire? She didn't even say what her CS problem is...
14:31 YOU are the one jumping to conclusions. Why do you assume MissyC is the only one who has been booted? Just because MissyC has come here and spoken about it? As for innocent "pruning" versus being banned, it is not jumping to conclusions at all, based on what she herself has said about using other ids and still not being able to use the forum. Any reasonable person would then surmise she has been filtered out via her ip address.
One time there was a post from someone saying something like, "Hello from New York." Jenn came on and said for us to beware, that the IP address of the OP was from out of the country and not New York.
Which made me wonder - how can she figure that out, but customers have to send in receipts to prove they were owed an Anniversary Set.

Not as annoying as yours and your stupid sunshine!!!

I agree that the tone has changed on this forum.
I'll be the first to admit, when the DT members came on the forum last week, I was very skeptical and thought that it would just be another log in the every so long log jam. Ami
EDITED BY ADMIN, COMMENT WAS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH TERMS OF SERVICE.
Even where Michelle P quoted Ami, it's been deleted (the line about one member being absent or something like that...basically the idea that things are happier because Jenn is gone) And Ami is right. When Jenn left, the tone of the board changed drastically. I wonder if she was put on administrative leave or something. She saw everyone as "the enemy" and was combative. But, too, I think Dawn, Pine and Lisa J could probably get answers out of that biotch Julie because they are also stamp designers. They have a vested interest in getting these customers happy. You can't blame them - happy customers spend money. That's just smart business (something that biotch Julie doesn't seem to grasp). If I was one of them, I'd be in Julie's face until shit was taken care of since many of the issues seem to be things she was "handling".
I doubt that Jenn is on administrative leave unless it was by choice. Julie, Jenn and Nichole are all cut from the same cloth and Nichole and Julie wouldn't even notice is Jenn was being a biotch.
I guess we have to be there right when things are posted because it looks like admin is coming in to clean things up.
Just in case Guata's (hope it's okay that I shortened your name, it's too long to always type out) post gets edited, here's what she wrote -
Thanks for clarifying Sharon! Now, I need to clarify something else - I didn't delete the comment. It was deleted by Nichole and I got a warning that it was a personal attack... I was not happy about the tone of the post, but don't think that it was a personal attack.
Ok so once someone came on the forum talking about how PTI are crooks and they take your package and never ship..but the post was weird and vague. So my cff (crafting frind forever) and a few other peeps on the forum chimed in and advised the person to contact CS and ask about their package Post got deleted, but as it was just after the whole Karen thing I guess Jenn needed to explain it to those who got their posts deleted She told us she matched the IP to someone who ordered from Italy and after the fact asked for rush shipping Then like a day later she had a pin on pinterest that said "never underestimate a girls ability to find things out" It was just like, THATS the part of your job your proud of?? Looking up Ip addresses to rat people out??!?!? My friend stopped ordering after that, and since we combined orders it was the end of PTI for me as well
Jenn and Erin's Pinterest pins were full of bitchy things. Which made a lot of sense and showed their true colors.
Dawn saying she's in red now to keep out spammers is complete bullshit. When was the last time anyone saw a spammer? It's so that she can play hitman and edit posts. At least tell the truth once in a while. I am so over her phoney, no-integrity ass.
Dawn saying she's in red now to keep out spammers is complete bullshit. When was the last time anyone saw a spammer? ------------------ Well, duh. That's because they took steps to eliminate it, by having new members' posts moderated. I'm sure they still get loads of it, it just now goes into some moderation queue which has to be dealt with. So if Jenn's not around doing that, then someone needs to or it will pile up in there.
We all know how Jenn was to everyone concerning customer service and the forum. After reading several places, many people LOVE her. I think she realized what PTI did to her, and quit.
. I replied to Carmens response on the thread in question That got deleted and agreed that I thought dawn was quite condescending to her and I also asked WHY the DT could get answers Jenn never could for CS issues. My post was of deleted and I have a PM which I assume is a warning from Nicole
I don't think it's that fair that we're jumping on Dawn She's representing PTI although not in her regular capacity
I have to be nice to my customers too whether I agree or not Anything is better than snark...which we all complained about Now we're complaining about niceness...even if it's fake?
To whoever posted the HTH! post at the end of the last thread: you're so funny! I was so annoyed at the HTH's when Jenn used them, but they're so funny when you do. HTH!
re: CS note on website - this confuses me. did they delete all the emails again? have they even deleted the emails from the first time yet? i'm just more confused.
re: jenn - i don't think she was fired. i bet she's on vacation or a much needed break.
re: dawn mcvey - i hate her sunshine. i prefer niceness over snark, but her niceness is way overboard
re: DT's turning into forum admins - i really hate this. i understand why pti is doing it, but i think it sucks. i was under the impression that pti started the forum with the idea that their customers have a voice. if so, then i don't think they should censor posts unless they are over the top. with dawn being the judge, anything not sunshine would get pruned.
re: missyc - i agree with the poster that suggested that missyc wasn't being personally attacked. i don't think so, either. it seems like conspiracy theory. can anyone else create a new login? based on a few posts i saw in the last week, apparently not. i bet the issue is due to something rick screwed up on the forum. i have a suggestion - several of you try to create a new login and see how it goes. if it works, then someone create one for missyc.
re: issues actually getting resolved - i'm getting disappointed about this (on one hand). it's a little too late, as many have posted. and once ppl's issues are resolved, wtf are we gonna smack about? we won't have much more to say. and we may start BUYING again. yikes!
I'm sorry but I think Dawn is just better at covering her snark than Jenn was. Does that make her a better CS person than Jenn, sure, but all those in your face sunshines and "KWIM"s" and baby talking grown women just pisses me off. I also believe she flat out lied about the posting status of MissyC, just like Rick did.
can anyone else create a new login? based on a few posts i saw in the last week, apparently not
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is not true about making new ids. Lesley got "pruned" the other day and was able to make a new ID almost right away. This was on pruning day when Rick came on the board and made the spam excuse about all the "pruning" going on. However, it is quite possible Lesley was accidentally "pruned" since she had not posted anything bad and Rick being such an idiot and all.
Now, if you go to the member section, you will see that 5 people made new ids today and 17 made new ids yesterday. So your theory does not hold water. I believe MissyC was deliberately banned and that others have been too. We just don't know about them all. It will happen to others too if they don't play nice.
Feels like Dawn is an overbearing chaperone. But then I'm not a big fan of her blog either.
I do wonder if the DT has just been more persistent with Jane and Julie. As Dawn said, her income is affected by releases. If she wants more people buying she may have more incentive to pressure Jane and Julie into solving these problems and not just settling for "passing the info on."
I think the main problem all along has been that Julie doesn't get anything done. She is just a bottleneck. Somehow they must have convinced her to start handling things. Is it true for a fact that she works full-time at Heskamp Printing, or is that just a rumor?
In regards to MissyC, when you create a new id using the name "banned_2" what do you expect?!? I don't know what other names you tried, but if they are anything like that one, it is no wonder you keep getting deleted!
As far as the spam goes, if you look at the newest users to join the forum, you can see how many of them are spammers. There are pages and pages of what appear to be fake names, and most of them without a single post. Their posts have to be approved by the admin before we can see them. So just because we don't see the spam doesn't mean it's not there still. PTI is just doing a really good job at filtering it for us!
Hmmm...has anyone ever read the fine print of the forum rules? You can see these when you register for a new ID:

PTI (if anyone is listening), this is how you deal with CS:
I placed an order with Simon Says Stamps. My order shipped and I got an email stating that an item was out of stock and my account has been credited.
I did not have to work it out myself. I didn't have to email CS. I didn't have to wait for a refund. I got a lovely emailing apologizing for the item being out of stock and that they had already fixed it all up. I had no reason to get angry, post messages on a message board or spend time smacking them because they fixed it right away. I did not have to jump through any hoops.
@Anonymous 1:43 I totally agree - pretty easy huh? I have had similar experiences with other companies, not all of them stamping related. I'm also pretty certain that most any company that does business online spends actual money to create an actual web site that actually functions. Note to PTI: Web Sites aren't like Sea Monkeys. You can't pour it into a container, add water, sit back and watch. You may actually have to do something.
I am not sure why somebody would be excited to get their anniversary sets after over 1 year. I would be happy that the issue was finally resolved but I certainly wouldn't be smiles and sunshine about it.
It is really convenient that PTI has a listing of all my purchase invoices starting in 2010. I calculated how much I have spent in the two years and can't believe I have spent $8872. I have no idea how much I spent prior to 2010. I know if there are very many like me putting buying on hold, they should be scrambling to clean up their business ways.
Yes, it is wonderful to see all of the problems being resolved.
I am convinced that Papertrey wouldn't have solved any of these problems on their own. It is because of the people that stood up and demanded that they do the right thing.
As evidenced by the fact that they discovered a missing pallet of orders and then sent them out as if nothing had happened, deleted emails, refused to put the cs message on the website, lost or didn't ever send out anniversary sets, haven't returned Ang's $50 ..... they don't have any intention of doing what's right unless cornered.
Oh my, everyone is so happy on the forum. Now just have to wait until poor Ang gets her refund. Sounds like they refunded to the wrong account with wrong cc numbers. That is efficient. And how long it takes for the poster to get her package that was sent to Australia instead of Sth Africa. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the internationals to get their anniversary sets.
looks like orders are still shipping out of order received.... but those who spew sunshine and rainbows are getting their packages. I wonder if those who have voiced disinterest but still ordered are put on pallet that is to be left behind?
Or maybe they are too busy answering all of those new customer service emails to ship orders out....
why would people even still bother ordering? I'm sure the DT isn't HTH anyone who isn't kissing their butts all day long
If you ever decide to liquidate some of your stash, LMK. I only have 1 set of pti stamps because I came on board when the shit started hitting the fan and couldn't justify the risk of ordering from such a sketchy company. But I do still like their stuff and would buy some from peeps who are unloading their collection. Just sayin'.
Oh jeeze, I can't even say "just sayin'" without thinking of Ted's ugly ass mug!!!!!!!
I have an honest question...to you guys that have spent a ton on crafting stuff...do you still get enjoyment out of buying new things?
I used to spend a pretty penny on my scrap stash. Not $4500 in a year pretty but maybe about $1k a year for a couple of years. And I do still like buying but nowadays when I see a new stamp I think "meh, I already have 2 that look very much like that".
Or when it comes to paper, I'll see a new collection that I really want but then remember the 96" high ikea cabinet at home that holds only paper. And I'm not even on any DTs....this is just little ol' me, works-a-full-time-job-outside-the-home-and-scraps-in-her-very-rare-spare-time gal.
Knowing what I already own kills the joy in buying new things. Does it do that for any of you guys?
^^^ me again. and it takes so long to scrap now when i have too much shit to sift through to find the perfect paper or embellishment. maybe rather than offer to buy others' stamps I need to pare down my own stash! lol.
Damn that's a lot of money. I think I am at about $2000 and I have been with PTI since day 1. You know who is in for a lot is that Jasmine girl. Not sure what her name is on the forum, pretty Asian girl, makes really nice cards. She has a haul video on her blog right now - and my ass is too lazy to find it for you - she bought a ton of shit all in buy. Damn.
And I am one of the vocal ones and my package - remember, I cashed out my rewards - has the label printed but not moving. Shocker. It's on that fucking pallet in the warehouse which will take forever for them to find.
I definitely still enjoy crafting, but I'm MUCH more selectie when buying things, ad I've learned to recognize fads Houndstooth? No need to buy any of the background sets. I bought some blak and white houndstooth paper, brayered it if I want the white background a different colour and glad i didn't spend a whole $24 on a faddish stamp set If I like a paper I no longer feel the need to buy the whole collection And I Have FINALLY recognized that it is not always cheaper to make my embelishments ( after money spent on moulds, resin and fimo -darn that Betsy!- it would have been so much cheaper to buy the friggen flowers and be done with it!!!
I spent $3,493.00 since November 2011. The woman who attacked me on facebook said they don't need customers like me after I said we need customer care instead of excuses. So I listened and stopped ordering.
No way they are organized enough to delay the packages of the vocal ones. The people who pack orders don't read on the forum. It is just their usual messups and slowness.
Is it bad that I find more enjoyment in looking and shopping than I do in sitting down and scrapping? Maybe b/c my room is a complete mess. Who knows. Maybe I'm a hoarder. :)
@11:14 I'm with you. I think it's also because I am very lazy. I love to read blogs. I feel like after seeing beautiful cards, it's frustrating to get in there and not be able to come up with original ideas like the ones I see out there in blog land.
11:11 - I was given ABSOLUTE ASSURANCE by Jenn and by Nichol that they DO NOT take the packages of the vocal ones and hold them. They are an equal opportunity bad-service provider.
"I have an honest question...to you guys that have spent a ton on crafting stuff...do you still get enjoyment out of buying new things? I used to spend a pretty penny on my scrap stash. Not $4500 in a year pretty but maybe about $1k a year for a couple of years. And I do still like buying but nowadays when I see a new stamp I think "meh, I already have 2 that look very much like that". "
I'm getting there. While I actually *DID* spend $4,500 on supplies last year, I had not done so in the previous years I've been scrapping (since 04). A lot of that was Copic cost, and then stamps/images for my Copics to colour. Inks that Copics like. Copic paper. Copic storage... I like me some Copics if you can't tell. I think there is a "set up" kind of cost with some things.
But I AM at the stage where I can say "I have something like that". I LOVE Lawn Fawn, but three of their new releases, with the butterflies and the flowers and stuff? I have that kind of thing. Either with PTI or another company. You have to set yourself up, and then you can be good.
Same with paper. I get overwhelmed by paper quickly, and the paper I had from 07 (before I took a decent break from scrapping) was just not my style anymore. So, I need some paper to support my current style. But even then, I either made sure to clear out the old, or kept the old because it's so similar to what is coming out new. I have a closet to scrap in, not a room, so no matter what I will stay within those constraints.
It does help if you have a handle on what you have and what you "need", but I *always* enjoy anticipating a new package in the mail.
i'm very much like 11:14 and 11:27 but I need to be like 11:36 and just quit going to blogs that make me feel like a talent-less hack. I had more fun scrapping and making cards when I didn't know what else was out there.
11:14, to curb my buying habit, I'll go to an online store and pick out about $200 worth of stuff and put it in my cart. Then I'll sit on that for a few days and chances are when I revisit the store a week later I no longer like those same things (or my cart dumped *ahem* so I can't even remember what it was I wanted to buy.)
Maybe that is lame but it gives me the feeling of buying new stuff without the cost (DH and I are doing the Dave Ramsey financial classes right now so cost is a big hindrance) and logistics nightmare of cramming more things into my scrap cabinets. Although I do miss getting fun stuff in the mail. *sniff*.
What if all those with outstanding issues went and totaled up every $$ they've spent with PTI and put that in a header statement in every email you send to CS??? Kind of like a "Hi, I'm Vajazzle and I have spent $XX,XXX.00 with PTI so far. This is the issue(s) I need expedient remedy to."
12:42 - Please Dont. I work in retail, and NOTHING makes me want to help someone LESS than when they throw how much they spent with my store in my face.
Yes, on the PTI facebook page. My comments got deleted, and Jenn came on to say that they only encourage polite conversation, or something to that effect. I was IRATE!
7:22, you got me beat by about $1,500. My orders have gone from a couple a month to one to now nothing. It was an interesting and eye opening exercise to go through my order history.
If you add up what's been listed here and figure we are the 10% vocal minority, how much have they lost from the people who don't post but just quietly go away.
I'm not trying to be snarky, but I just don't understand how it's possible to spend almost $9k on PTI and still have stuff left to buy.
It's not a budget thing (some of us spend more, some less), but a logistical thing.
When I started buying PTI, I had a HUGE list of things I wanted to get. I think I broke my wish list up into 4 or 5 orders (because that would give me time to use EVERYTHING I'd bought, haha), but I bought tons of stamps, dies, paper, ribbon, etc.
That stuff probably totaled $4000. But, once all that initial craziness was over....my spending went down because I already had everything I wanted.
Even the "I Want It All" button puts $300 - $400 worth of product in your cart....

---------
I never understood this question.
Just stop posting - why do you need your account to be deleted? I doubt anyone will care enough to notice one particular person missing from the boards, much less take the time to hack your account.
quoting: "just don't understand how it's possible to spend almost $9k on PTI and still have stuff left to buy" I know, I couldn't believe that I had spent that much either.
this was not an initial purchase. I bought each month because "I wanted it all" Yes, you can call it hording or an addiction. I doubt that I am the only over spender at PTI. All I can say is thanks for helping me see the light. LOL
How did I spend that much? Well, I was there for every release, drank the Kool-Aid and, well, you know the rest. And don't forget, I stupidly bought the second whole set of inks after buying the first whole set of inks.
I will admit stamping/scrapbooking supplies are my own little addiction. But I don't smoke, drink, go out to dinner, travel, go to movies, etc. My bills are paid, I give to charity, I save for retirement. I work very hard at a very demanding job and, damn it, I deserve all the stamps, inks, papers and embellishments I buy!!! LOL
Or maybe I need the meth after all the sunshine and rainbows from Dawn. After all they want a sunshine and rainbow filled forum where people want to spend their time AND a place where customers issues are resolved. (eye roll)
I asked the question about how do you leave the forum forever. And no, they will not notice and I am not wanting anyone to. I guess I thought it might help me to not keep going back if I didn't have an ID to get in and was too lazy to make a new one.
Vajazzle!
ReplyDelete2nd again----mother humper
ReplyDeleteGood to see people are getting resolution to their prize package situations. Firmly believe it would not have happened without what went on over the past week and a half. Also firmly believe there was a big drop in paying orders. Got their attention ..... for a while.
ReplyDeleteholy crap how many times has that Kathy MC won those MIM challenges?!?!
ReplyDeleteBAZINGA! sooo funny- big bang fans are here too?!? What a great group of smackers...
ReplyDeleteWel I can't complain...I never enter....
ReplyDeleteGlad to see a timely resolution for the overdue prizes, but now that they're issuing gift certificates instead, wouldn't the winner need to spend $70 minimum to qualify for free shipping now? Unless they're willing to pay $6.50 local shipping, or $20+ international shipping.
ReplyDeleteA gift certificate allows previous prize winners to order whatever they want though and it is an immediate resolution. The shipping charge IMO is a small price to pay (unless you are Canadian or International).
ReplyDeleteMost of the prize packages are worth well over $70.
ReplyDeleteWow! They put a link to the customer service announcement on the front page of the store.
ReplyDeleteRe: Big strides!
ReplyDeleteby mzza111 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 9:52 am
I agree that the tone has changed on this forum.
Ami
----------------
Totally agree with this as well! Jenn's a bitch and it's great that she's been MIA. Hope it stays that way!
^^^^^^ Way to go, Barbara! This wouldn't have happened without you!
ReplyDeleteSorry, my way to go Barbara comment was for the 11:27 comment.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the message is on the website now? Are they really gonna turn this ship around?
ReplyDeleteSo to all of the people on the forums that are thinking that Papertrey would have come to these conclusions on their own (as littlebirchtree suggested) - NO they wouldn't have!
ReplyDeleteThe changes are only coming about because of the vocal forum members that made the suggestions.
ReplyDeleteLink to Nichole stating that GCs are equal to cash and should count toward free shipping:
ReplyDeletehttp://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=135&t=33262&start=125
I have no idea if it's actually been fixed yet, though.
I think ya'll are getting mixed up with Rewards points
ReplyDeleteRewards points do not count towards free shipping
GC's do.
what happened to Ted's forum? Is he back to PTI now?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Thank You! to all the posters that have said nice things.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I want to address two post from the previous blog post.
Anonymous said...

Just out of curiosity, if you are never buying from a company again and make a very public scene about your decision to never buy from that company, why on earth would you want to continue to take part in that company's online community? The forum is paid for by PTI for their customers. It is a place where their customers can get together to discuss PTI products. If you are no longer a customer and are no longer buying their products, why still participate in their community? I just don't understand. You've made it clear you hate the company and those involved in the company, why stick around and interact with the people/company you hate?
19 March 2012 05:20
___________________________________________________________
My answers to the two posters above...
ReplyDeleteI will watch for the next issue (missing stamps from stamp sets, lost pallets, website glitches) to see how they resolve it. Until then,I won't be ordering.
This is much a case of too little too late.
what happened to Ted's forum? Is he back to PTI now?
ReplyDeletePlease tell me that this isn't true.
I love the fact that Ted has his own forum and want him to be successful!
Did Ted's forum go away is that what you're saying?
ReplyDeleteHis new avatar scares me.
I think it may have taken them this long because the needed to see the effect on sales for a release. I think it is very telling that they have so few things OOS right now. I think that is the ONLY things these women truly understand.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd love for Ted to stay in his own forum and never see him on the PTI forum again!
ReplyDeleteI got the "goodbye PTI" original post and would've joined in except obviously so many did not get the point of saying that. Sorry it didn't work out as intended.
I don't know what to think about the CS link being on the store page. Yes - great, those not "in the know" will know. But - just broadcast the creepy message that we're dumping emails?? I would've written a NEW CS message myself.
NO REFUND FOR ANG AND ONE OTHER PERSON YET...
ReplyDeleteWhy are the DT not getting involved in that one?
12:32, you're right, GCs used to count toward free shipping, but they broke it sometime since the new web site roll-out. Not sure if they've fixed it yet.
ReplyDeleteI meant USE of GCs, not purchase of GCs, of course.
ReplyDeleteI would have written a new cs message for the front page too.

________
Well, Ang said she's been PM'ing with NH, and Betsy has replied to the other girl in that thread
Thanks for clarifying, 13:03 :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that some of the higher ups have intervened for those ladies, too.
I'm so glad I have Ted on ignore. That's the best feature of the forum.
ReplyDeleteI used to have Ted on ignore, but I couldn't resist the trainwreck. At least he stopped with the green text and the moving smiley face at the end of each post. Now with the new avatar looking like he's going to eat your face off, I am considering the ignore feature again though.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone keeping tabs on my obnoxious PTI problem ... I have now been deleted from the forum FIVE TIMES. Each time I create a new login, sometimes using a new em adds in case they automatically ban me using that ... It lasts about an hour and then my login is "no longer active".
ReplyDeleteSo for all the "pruning for speed" talk ... I've sure had more than my share of "just coincidence"
Wish the DT could sprinkle sunshine on my problem. Lol.
From the last thread:
ReplyDelete-------
Wow - there are only 4 comments on NH's MIM post by mid-morning her time.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am pissed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks 13:33.
ReplyDeleteI do have specific CS issues which I have never aired except by playing by their "em CS rules" ... having never heard back is when I got frustrated and posted on the forum ... which led me here.
Kind'v hard to make any noise at all with those circumstances.
Extra frustrating to learn some customer have posted to the forum that "things are looking better" ... the truth is that is just smoke & mirrors.
I do hope for the best for PTI, but they are STILL duping people.
Missy C, I can't believe they banned you! I mean, I believe you, but Wow! You weren't as aggressive as others I still see there.
ReplyDeleteMissyC, I was asking what the specific issues were because that would guide me how I would handle it now. They have basically cut you off, said fuck you, and stuck a cherry on top.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, if I haD a registered friend, I would post via my friend with my problem, just to embarrass them.
This whole missyC situation also tells you that at the very least, Rick is a great big fucking LIAR, and possibly Dawn too.
ReplyDeleteI just feel like I bought hot goods from the back of a van. Now the van is gone and I just have to suck it up to being dumb. Maybe cutting me off is divine intervention because I couldn't give it up on my own. I think I'll just take the loss, and walk my nameless voiceless ass away.
ReplyDeleteSorry for anyone else this did/will happen to. I hope the unicorns revel in the sunshine. Ignorance truly is bliss!
missyC: why not use a proxy to access the forum?
ReplyDeleteMissyC, you need to use an anonymizer or whatever those damn things are that route you through a million different countries and IP addresses -- then they can't block you that way.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is jumping to conclusions about Missy C. Why would they go that far with her and not others that were much louder and more aggressive? And why are you trying to egg her on and fuel the fire? She didn't even say what her CS problem is...
ReplyDelete14:31 YOU are the one jumping to conclusions.
ReplyDelete14:31, I know for a fact that Jenn E looks forum peeps up by their IP address....so stop jumping yourself
ReplyDeleteYes please do share!!
DeleteWhy is Dawn now red? Is she a permanent admin?
ReplyDeletePoor Ang!
ReplyDeletePine is red too. Probably gave them admin powers, maybe temporarily?
ReplyDeleteDawn is red cuz she's sunburned
ReplyDeleteLOL@ the sunburned comment!
ReplyDelete14:31, I know for a fact that Jenn E looks forum peeps up by their IP address....so stop jumping yourself
ReplyDeleteDo share.....
Yeah - why would MissyC keep getting banned and not me? Not that I want to, just sayin'. Or maybe once they fix my order they'll ban me again...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jenn left for good?
ReplyDeleteOne time there was a post from someone saying something like, "Hello from New York." Jenn came on and said for us to beware, that the IP address of the OP was from out of the country and not New York.
ReplyDeleteWhich made me wonder - how can she figure that out, but customers have to send in receipts to prove they were owed an Anniversary Set.

Ami
EDITED BY ADMIN, COMMENT WAS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH TERMS OF SERVICE.
The above quoted comment by Ami used to say something like The absence of one person made a big difference. That is the part that was deleted
ReplyDeleteWell that is interesting. What did the original say that was non-compliant?
ReplyDeleteEven where Michelle P quoted Ami, it's been deleted (the line about one member being absent or something like that...basically the idea that things are happier because Jenn is gone) And Ami is right.
ReplyDelete14:44 I agree. Anyone who does any forum or computer work knows IP addresses are how things are banned and tracked.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Jenn is on administrative leave unless it was by choice. Julie, Jenn and Nichole are all cut from the same cloth and Nichole and Julie wouldn't even notice is Jenn was being a biotch.
ReplyDeleteJenn probably wizened up and quit!
ReplyDeleteI guess we have to be there right when things are posted because it looks like admin is coming in to clean things up.
ReplyDeleteJust in case Guata's (hope it's okay that I shortened your name, it's too long to always type out) post gets edited, here's what she wrote -
Thanks for clarifying Sharon! Now, I need to clarify something else - I didn't delete the comment. It was deleted by Nichole and I got a warning that it was a personal attack... I was not happy about the tone of the post, but don't think that it was a personal attack.
Someone should make a new post to ask where Jenn is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting my comment 16:55. And no, I don't mind if you call me Guate.
ReplyDeleteOk so once someone came on the forum talking about how PTI are crooks and they take your package and never ship..but the post was weird and vague.
ReplyDeleteSo my cff (crafting frind forever) and a few other peeps on the forum chimed in and advised the person to contact CS and ask about their package
Post got deleted, but as it was just after the whole Karen thing I guess Jenn needed to explain it to those who got their posts deleted
She told us she matched the IP to someone who ordered from Italy and after the fact asked for rush shipping
Then like a day later she had a pin on pinterest that said "never underestimate a girls ability to find things out"
It was just like, THATS the part of your job your proud of?? Looking up Ip addresses to rat people out??!?!?
My friend stopped ordering after that, and since we combined orders it was the end of PTI for me as well
I remember people posting here lots of Jenn's Pinterest pins...
ReplyDeleteI'd ask where Jenn is but quite frankly I don't give a shit about her and I'm pretty sure they'd know that if I asked...
ReplyDeleteI wish that someone had saved the whole Karen post. It was such a wake up call for me.
ReplyDeleteNow that posts are being edited (and who knows how far back they will go), they can change the tone of past posts to be anyway that they like.
Jenn and Erin's Pinterest pins were full of bitchy things. Which made a lot of sense and showed their true colors.
ReplyDeleteDawn saying she's in red now to keep out spammers is complete bullshit. When was the last time anyone saw a spammer? It's so that she can play hitman and edit posts. At least tell the truth once in a while. I am so over her phoney, no-integrity ass.
If you're on Pinterest, look up JennElf, words to live by.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
I see NOTHING on Jenn's Pinterest that is is any way questionable.
ReplyDeleteMy personal fave from her board:
ReplyDeleteLearning to ignore things is one of the great paths to inner peace.
*****************************************
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
No shit, sherlock!
Or this one:
ReplyDeleteI hope Karma slaps you in the face before I do.
Dawn saying she's in red now to keep out spammers is complete bullshit. When was the last time anyone saw a spammer?
ReplyDelete------------------
Well, duh.
ReplyDeleteMany people love Jenn? Call me Sheldon but is that sarcastic?
ReplyDelete. I replied to Carmens response on the thread in question That got deleted and agreed that I thought dawn was quite condescending to her and I also asked WHY the DT could get answers Jenn never could for CS issues. My post was of deleted and I have a PM which I assume is a warning from Nicole
ReplyDeleteOr did she quit because she knew that she was the most disliked cs rep in all of stamptdon?
ReplyDeleteStampdom I meant.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's that fair that we're jumping on Dawn
ReplyDeleteShe's representing PTI although not in her regular capacity
I have to be nice to my customers too whether I agree or not
Anything is better than snark...which we all complained about
Now we're complaining about niceness...even if it's fake?
I would rather have Dawn's niceness over jenn's snark any day.
ReplyDeleteI also don't mind that the dt is actually getting results whereas Jenn and Dave can't solve any problems between the 2 of them.
I agree 18:55, except I don't think Dawn's niceness is fake, she's that way on her blog.
ReplyDeleteTo whoever posted the HTH! post at the end of the last thread: you're so funny! I was so annoyed at the HTH's when Jenn used them, but they're so funny when you do. HTH!
ReplyDeletere: CS note on website - this confuses me. did they delete all the emails again? have they even deleted the emails from the first time yet? i'm just more confused.
ReplyDeletere: jenn - i don't think she was fired. i bet she's on vacation or a much needed break.
re: dawn mcvey - i hate her sunshine. i prefer niceness over snark, but her niceness is way overboard
re: DT's turning into forum admins - i really hate this. i understand why pti is doing it, but i think it sucks. i was under the impression that pti started the forum with the idea that their customers have a voice. if so, then i don't think they should censor posts unless they are over the top. with dawn being the judge, anything not sunshine would get pruned.
re: missyc - i agree with the poster that suggested that missyc wasn't being personally attacked. i don't think so, either. it seems like conspiracy theory. can anyone else create a new login? based on a few posts i saw in the last week, apparently not. i bet the issue is due to something rick screwed up on the forum. i have a suggestion - several of you try to create a new login and see how it goes. if it works, then someone create one for missyc.
re: issues actually getting resolved - i'm getting disappointed about this (on one hand). it's a little too late, as many have posted. and once ppl's issues are resolved, wtf are we gonna smack about? we won't have much more to say. and we may start BUYING again.
ReplyDeletecan anyone else create a new login? based on a few posts i saw in the last week, apparently not
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteI do wonder if the DT has just been more persistent with Jane and Julie.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to MissyC, when you create a new id using the name "banned_2" what do you expect?!? I don't know what other names you tried, but if they are anything like that one, it is no wonder you keep getting deleted!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the spam goes, if you look at the newest users to join the forum, you can see how many of them are spammers.

ReplyDeleteI placed an order with Simon Says Stamps.
Seems pretty easy to me.
@Anonymous 1:43
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - pretty easy huh?
I have had similar experiences with other companies, not all of them stamping related.
I'm also pretty certain that most any company that does business online spends actual money to create an actual web site that actually functions.
Note to PTI: Web Sites aren't like Sea Monkeys. You can't pour it into a container, add water, sit back and watch. You may actually have to do something.
"Web Sites aren't like Sea Monkeys"
ReplyDeleteHA!!!
I am not sure why somebody would be excited to get their anniversary sets after over 1 year. I would be happy that the issue was finally resolved but I certainly wouldn't be smiles and sunshine about it.
ReplyDeleteIt is really convenient that PTI has a listing of all my purchase invoices starting in 2010. I calculated how much I have spent in the two years and can't believe I have spent $8872. I have no idea how much I spent prior to 2010. I know if there are very many like me putting buying on hold, they should be scrambling to clean up their business ways.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is wonderful to see all of the problems being resolved.
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that Papertrey wouldn't have solved any of these problems on their own.
Just my .02 cents.
Dear Cloiseaux's of the board, just remember WHY Papertrey is finally resolving problems.
ReplyDeleteIt's because of US, the smackers. Not YOU.
Oh my, everyone is so happy on the forum.
ReplyDeleteNow just have to wait until poor Ang gets her refund.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe they are too busy answering all of those new customer service emails to ship orders out....
why would people even still bother ordering? I'm sure the DT isn't HTH anyone who isn't kissing their butts all day long
Holy crap cakes!!!!!!!!!! Someone spent almost $9k in 2 years. Damn guuuurl, that is a shit load of stamps!

I've easily spent that (over 3 years though)
ReplyDeleteI don't regret spending the money, my stamps are well used and loved.
Ted's new avatar is scary! Just sayin'!
ReplyDeleteWow, and I was feeling bad that my total was nearly 1,000 after just a year. ((wipes brow)) I'm glad I'm done with that!
ReplyDeleteI have an honest question...to you guys that have spent a ton on crafting stuff...do you still get enjoyment out of buying new things?
ReplyDeleteI used to spend a pretty penny on my scrap stash.
^^^ me again. and it takes so long to scrap now when i have too much shit to sift through to find the perfect paper or embellishment. maybe rather than offer to buy others' stamps I need to pare down my own stash! lol.
ReplyDeleteDamn that's a lot of money. Damn.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am one of the vocal ones and my package - remember, I cashed out my rewards - has the label printed but not moving. Shocker. It's on that fucking pallet in the warehouse which will take forever for them to find.
ReplyDeleteI definitely still enjoy crafting, but I'm MUCH more selectie when buying things, ad I've learned to recognize fads
ReplyDeleteHoundstooth? No need to buy any of the background sets. I bought some blak and white houndstooth paper, brayered it if I want the white background a different colour and glad i didn't spend a whole $24 on a faddish stamp set
If I like a paper I no longer feel the need to buy the whole collection
And I Have FINALLY recognized that it is not always cheaper to make my embelishments ( after money spent on moulds, resin and fimo -darn that Betsy!- it would have been so much cheaper to buy the friggen flowers and be done with it!!!
I spent $3,493.00 since November 2011. The woman who attacked me on facebook said they don't need customers like me after I said we need customer care instead of excuses. So I listened and stopped ordering.
ReplyDeleteWhere on FB? On the PTI page?
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how to leave the forum? Like deactivate your account/name and be gone forever? I haven't been able to find that.
ReplyDeleteI think that it was on the PTI Facebook page but they removed it.
ReplyDelete10:43 - Say something really nasty and get banned..lol
ReplyDeleteNo way they are organized enough to delay the packages of the vocal ones. The people who pack orders don't read on the forum. It is just their usual messups and slowness.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that I find more enjoyment in looking and shopping than I do in sitting down and scrapping? Maybe b/c my room is a complete mess. Who knows. Maybe I'm a hoarder. :)
ReplyDelete@11:14 I'm with you. I think it's also because I am very lazy. I love to read blogs. I feel like after seeing beautiful cards, it's frustrating to get in there and not be able to come up with original ideas like the ones I see out there in blog land.
ReplyDeleteI'm 11:14. I stopped reading blogs for that very reason. But for some reason I pine for product. Guess I'd fall more into that lazy category too.
ReplyDelete11:11 - I was given ABSOLUTE ASSURANCE by Jenn and by Nichol that they DO NOT take the packages of the vocal ones and hold them. They are an equal opportunity bad-service provider.
ReplyDelete"I have an honest question...to you guys that have spent a ton on crafting stuff...do you still get enjoyment out of buying new things? I used to spend a pretty penny on my scrap stash. ReplyDeleteI'm getting there.
@11:11 Actually it would be in their interest to give BETTER service to the vocal ones.
ReplyDeletei'm very much like 11:14 and 11:27 but I need to be like 11:36 and just quit going to blogs that make me feel like a talent-less hack. I had more fun scrapping and making cards when I didn't know what else was out there.
ReplyDelete11:14, to curb my buying habit, I'll go to an online store and pick out about $200 worth of stuff and put it in my cart.
*sniff*.
So has anyone heard anything about Jenn?
ReplyDeleteAre the emails being answered or is there a huge backlog?
I just had a delicious thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat if all those with outstanding issues went and totaled up every $$ they've spent with PTI and put that in a header statement in every email you send to CS??? Kind of like a "Hi, I'm Vajazzle and I have spent $XX,XXX.00 with PTI so far. This is the issue(s) I need expedient remedy to."
Michelle P's avatar is freaking hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, how is Missy C banned and not Michelle P?
ReplyDelete^^^Link a bitch up please!
ReplyDeleteMP's avatar... LOL

I don't see Michelle P's avatar when I follow your link.
ReplyDeleteDid it get deleted?
7:22, you got me beat by about $1,500. My orders have gone from a couple a month to one to now nothing. It was an interesting and eye opening exercise to go through my order history.
ReplyDeleteIf you add up what's been listed here and figure we are the 10% vocal minority, how much have they lost from the people who don't post but just quietly go away.
15:05 - her username is mearsfaninboise - it's the unicorn with a rainbow and a sprinking of glitter (stars).
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to be snarky, but I just don't understand how it's possible to spend almost $9k on PTI and still have stuff left to buy.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a budget thing (some of us spend more, some less), but a logistical thing.
What did you buy to spend that much?

I never understood this question.
Just stop posting - why do you need your account to be deleted? I doubt anyone will care enough to notice one particular person missing from the boards, much less take the time to hack your account.
I just quit posting. No hair flip and flounce about leaving the forum, just stopped.
ReplyDeletequoting: "just don't understand how it's possible to spend almost $9k on PTI and still have stuff left to buy"
ReplyDeleteI know, I couldn't believe that I had spent that much either.
this was not an initial purchase. I bought each month because "I wanted it all" Yes, you can call it hording or an addiction. I doubt that I am the only over spender at PTI. All I can say is thanks for helping me see the light. LOL
could be worse...like spending almost $9K on meth...
ReplyDelete$9k in Meth...
ReplyDeleteLMAO
Perhaps the DT could use some of that meth after a week of answering emails and commenting on the forum!
How did I spend that much? Well, I was there for every release, drank the Kool-Aid and, well, you know the rest. And don't forget, I stupidly bought the second whole set of inks after buying the first whole set of inks.
ReplyDeleteI will admit stamping/scrapbooking supplies are my own little addiction.
(eye roll)
ReplyDeleteI asked the question about how do you leave the forum forever. And no, they will not notice and I am not wanting anyone to. I guess I thought it might help me to not keep going back if I didn't have an ID to get in and was too lazy to make a new one.
ReplyDeleteMP was banned and came back on her best behavior. Her avatar is still intact.
