  3. Squatro. Because that's what I've got tonight...squat.

  4. And another company releases a strawberry set!

    1. I appreciate the info Donna. I love options! Keep it comming :)

  6. That company is called Paper & Such? Never heard of it. There are almost too many stamp companies out there now. I'm going to stick with the old-timers.

    ReplyDelete
  7. ^^^^ Yep... too many new companies and I am getting overwhelmed. I wish they wouldn't repeat the designs over and over too.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't mind variety. If I like it, I buy it. That's the beauty of living in our society, lots to choose from.

  9. From previous thread:
Thanks Rick! Two more suggestions for little tweaks that would greatly improve the customer experience...

....2. When viewing orders, have the default sort be most recent orders first - most people are trying to check status on an order they just placed, not looking for info on the first order they made several years ago

    -----------------------
The change in the sort default sort order for the order page was changed, sometime last week! It's a GREAT change, I'm so glad they did that.

Rick, so glad you were able to make a change that will hopefully help with the cart dumping issues.

On the search criteria, I call total BS on the "less is more" reply. A good search engine wouldn't be so damn picky, and wouldn't be case-sensitive, at a minimum. Should also allow for boolean operators, and search for the terms in any order, or maybe allow the use of quotes if you want only results that include the EXACT phrase.

  10. I agree that PTI's hydrangea peek sucks eggs, why the heck couldn't they stick with the classic YOF style??!!
BUT, Flourishes sure does know how to do Hydrangea, check it out:
    http://mystampingthyme.blogspot.com/2012/05/flourishes-new-release-day-1.html

    ReplyDelete
  11. I do like those Flourishes hydrangeas. I'm not sure yet about the PTI set.... I need to see more of it. I think it's a bit unfair to say it "sucks eggs" though. Everyone's style is different. Not everyone likes to color, and the new set is solid, so may appeal to that group.

PTI does have the hydrangeas in the Friendship Jar Summer Fillers that are more similar to the YOF style. If they did something like THAT again, people would be complaining that it's too similar to a previously-released set.

To each his own... I have seen people swoon over sets that *I* thought were completely unappealing, and I don't just mean sets from PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  12. You made a valid point 03:59, I apologize for saying it sucked. I should pause and consider that some people will in fact like it even though I do not like it. I'm sure there are stamps I am over the moon about that some people think are icky!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Do people really have to always say "in my opinion" or something like it?? It's pretty obvious that saying a stamp set "sucks" is a personal opinion. Don't you think we all have figured that out by now?

Yes, everyone knows people have different tastes and some express their opinions more colorfully than others. I wish people would stop calling others out on petty crap like this.

When you say something positive about a design, no one comes along and says -- well, that's just you, others hate it.

    Grow up already.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That crackle background looks like skin under a microscope. Ew. Not my style.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I do not like the crackle at all. The Flourishes flowers are always gorgeous. I love all the new companies. They are pricing lower. The ones at My Thoughts are about $10 per set and free shipping on even one set. Add to that that these places have sales and I am going to be saving $$$!

  16. So Bazzill has new CS that is supposed to be like PTI. I can't watch you tube (blocked) but hoped maybe someone owuld be able ot watch it and post the PTI-Bazzill comparison done in the video

    http://littlemisslittleness.blogspot.com/2012/05/card-shoppe-by-bazzill.html?showComment=1336571523635#c9149701007780824427

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, people say in my opinion but it's not because we are not grown ups.

If they don't, some yahoo comes along and says "well, that's just YOUR opinion, it's not fact so quit talking like you know everything".

So there. Now you grow up. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wow, love those Bazzill colors!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Does the crackle on Day 5's sneak peak crackle image - look like a pic of skin - close up or dried up mud?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Without looking at the Bazzill, is it a fair assumption that it is more expensive than PTI?

    ReplyDelete
  21. $5.26 for 25 sheets on Amazon.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh my gosh! I thought the EXACT same thing about that background - skin or onion skin under a microscope!! Wow, that brought back childhood memories.

I think in reality it will be a cool effect stamp though.

And I found the Bazzill white (marshmallow?) at one other place.. I'll find a link. (I don't shop Amazon)

    ReplyDelete
  23. http://store.scrapbook.com/bb-10-1083.html

It's higher here. Wish they sold it in packs.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 07:08, it never ceases to amaze me that people here read posts without really understanding the meaning.

I was saying that I don't think we ought to have to say that something is "IMHO" or "IMO" when it's OBVIOUS it's an opinion and no one should have to deal with someone chastising them because what they said wasn't fact.

We are in agreement :) .

    ReplyDelete
  25. Adding: It's the "yahoos" who need to grow up ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Donna,
Is that the correct price for the new card shoppe weight? I think it's more than that.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm only seeing for $10 for a 25/pk which makes it double the price of PTI... which stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yes, I think I got the wrong price. $10, nope, I will risk PTI's situation before I pay $10 per pack of 25. I think I can get 50 for $9 at PTI and no sales tax or shipping if I order enough at one time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So the link to scrapbook.com is 0.35 each for 10 or more, so 40 sheets is $14. Someone will have to do better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't mind seeing new companies. Good to know that there is variety out there. $10/25 sheets is high!! Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ohhh! Someone make a die for these!

  32. cupcake wrappers look cute but how the hell do you get a mini cupcake out of the wrapper without getting the icing all over your fingers??
Cupcake wrappers = cute + USELESS.

Oh, and that is just MHO for the yahoos who care.

The crackle sneak, yes it looks like onion skin but I think on paper it will be a really cool effect.

The chick who did the Bazzil Card Shoppe paper video has a very AWESOME voice for making videos. I could listen to her read the phone book - very relaxing tone.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Paper and Such -checked out their store, NOT my style. Those strawberries are awful. I still like Gina's version the best.

Flourishes - now THEY can do flowers. That hydrangea peek is gorgeous. Too bad I don't color.

Bazzill - LOVE their new colors and love that they are coming out with a texture free 8.5 x 11 size!

  34. Donna @ 8:30 - Lifestyle Crafts makes several different cupcake wrapper dies. All very cute. Amazon.

  35. Donna C. said...

$5.26 for 25 sheets on Amazon.

    9 May 2012 07:42

Donna, where do you see this? I went to Amazon and the Card Shoppe collection is sold in paper packs of 25 for $10.00.
    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=bazzill+card+shoppe

Scrapbook.com sells them for 50 cents a sheet.

Sorry, too rich for my blood.

    ReplyDelete
  36. for 8:50 -
"cupcake wrappers look cute but how the hell do you get a mini cupcake out of the wrapper without getting the icing all over your fingers??
Cupcake wrappers = cute + USELESS."

There's a tab on one end that slides into a slot on the other end - you slip the tab out of the slot and unwrap the wrapper. That way you don't have to try to reach down into the wrapper and get icing all over your fingers.

    ReplyDelete
  37. amusestudio has dies for cupcake wrappers in two sizes, but they're pinked around the edge instead of scallop. cute for a party especially if you have a little girl who loves that sort of thing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The amuse ones are a bottomless wrap that goes around the cupcake already in the cupcake thingy. So it's pure decoration that comes off, you don't bake the cupcake in it, so no difficulty taking it out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The scrapbook.com link shows that the bazzill is in stepped pricing - the more you buy the cheaper. Over 10 is 0.35. Still higher but not .50.

    ReplyDelete
  40. uh oh Scrapbooks Etc. is no more... who's next?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  41. re: 08:50
Funny, I was thinking the same thing about her voice. I think I was hypnotized for a while listening to her talk....lol

    ReplyDelete
  42. I rather like many of the new items in SU's new catalog. Some of the dies are speaking to the die collector in me.

    ReplyDelete
  43. 9:10, thanks for explaining that. Maybe the wrappers will grow on me after all.

    ReplyDelete
  44. SU's stuff just ends up being so expensive compared to PTI's, especially once you add tax and shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So I had a small order with Scrapbook.com and added 6 pieces of the Bazzill to the cart to see how I liked it and the shipping went up $1.50. That means each paper would cost 75 cents. I passed.

    ReplyDelete
  46. the crackle stamp sneak peek: yes, it does look like it could be dried skin or plant cells under a microscope now that you mention it, but it also looks to me like the fine crackle finish that you see in old glazed porcelain. Done in the right colors using a really light touch, it will look fabulous, and you can add it to most anything else you stamp to give it that old antiqued look.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Crackle stamps were popular in the late 90's . I have one from Red Castle that I never use. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  48. "Adventure and explore" sounds totally wrong because it is not parallel.

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL! You are so right! I didn't even pay that close attention to the wording. Now it would completely bug me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Apparently it is Hydrangea month.

    http://www.justritestampers.com/ProductDetail.aspx?productid=CR-03705

    ReplyDelete
  51. 11:29 I was too distracted by the pigeon-toed footprints to notice the wording.

    ReplyDelete
  52. DT coming to the defense of the flippin' set!!! They're trying to shift the focus to the cute flip flops. Oh, Lordy Bees!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm surprised the sensored stick up Nichole's ass didn't go off when she was presented with a stamp set that used the word "flippin"!

She doesn't strike me as someone with a sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You know what's funny, Oh Lordy Bees has really grown on me!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Heres a thought - there are people (I work with a guy) that smack blog for a hobby. With that said some of the comments on here may very well be from someone who doesnt even know what we are talking about but stirs the pot to keep the fun going.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thanks 9:06 and 9:14 on the cupcake wrapper info.

I also have an old crackle stamp, somewhere, that I never use.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Shoot me now but I am actually enjoying the prom photo thread....

    ReplyDelete
  58. I agree. Those prom pictures were great entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  59. RE: adventure and explore. It could be parallel if you read "adventure" as a verb rather than a noun, as in "I'm going to adventure" rather than "I'm going on an adventure." But yeah, that's not standard usage, and it immediately struck me as being off. It would drive me crazy and I'd never use it on a card. Luckily I'm not buying from PTI anymore, so it's not an issue!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The new SU catalog bored me to tears. I almost quit looking half way through but thought I might miss something. Nope.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Nope I am not buying either, but the adventure set would have been better without the 'and' - thus just leaving Adventure - Explore.
Not that crazy about it anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Add That 2 The List10 May 2012 at 03:27

Do they realize that not all men are outdoorsy? They might have better luck found a clean and contemporary masculine set. I do like the camping theme but the Adventure & Explore thing bugs me too. At least they tried. *shrug*.

    ReplyDelete
  63. $24 for flip flops.....pass :P

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yep pass too on $24 for flip flops.

The dies on their own could be cute; you could stamp your own pattern on them.

But at $32.50 shipping for one item, I will pass on that one too.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'd consider flip-flops for $5 just for the cuteness factor....$24 rip-off

    ReplyDelete
  66. The flip flop set is cuter than I thought it would be, but I agree $24 is too much.

I like the suggestion of just the dies and stamping your own pattern.

    ReplyDelete
  67. is the new SU catalog available to view online somewhere? haven't ordered from them in a long time, but curious to see what they're putting out.

    ReplyDelete
  68. lots of kool-aid drinking over that flippin' flops

    ReplyDelete
  69. I agree that the flip flop set should be $15, unless those flip flops are a lot bigger than I am thinking they are.

Also - am I the only one who sees a tadpole/sperm on pine's background for the camping set? maybe I'm in the gutter due to dwelling on the flippin's flip-flop set, but really? sperm and the f-bomb in one release?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Definitely sperm.

    ReplyDelete
  71. http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/20120601_AnnualCatalog_en-US.pdf

    ReplyDelete
  72. During the sneak peaks, Nichole described it as "an adorable little flip flop set." I figured it might be a $5 set (little). $24? I don't think so. Add the dies and you're putting out a serious chunk of change for basically one design element.

    ReplyDelete
  73. LOL!! Sperm. LOL!! I did not see that before, so of course now I can't unsee it.

I don't think flippin' is anywhere near an "f-bomb" but I also only ever hear it as an adjective to something negative so it just sounds inappropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  74. flipflops = classic pti design: one element, lots of patterns.

Boring. And smacks of laziness too.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think the new SU catalog is a winner! Not a demo here, just love the design of the book and lots of stamps I like - haven't even looked at the accessory-type things yet.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I love that flip flop set. I see it as very versatile; different patterns, paper piecing, paired with other summer themed sets. Come on ladies, use that creativity and set the bitterness aside.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think I will buy the flip-flop die, because I think I can make creative cards using patterned paper with the die.

I think $24 is way too much unless there are like 20 different patterns (which I doubt). I can always buy the set later if I change my mind, but the die would give me cute accents now.

$4 is much easier than $24

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't think bitterness has anything to do with it - the set is a flop.

    ReplyDelete
  79. 06:12- post a link to your stamp designs or your other creative endeavors.

  80. 06:12- post a link to your stamp designs or your other creative endeavors.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Anyone see the "golden arches" on Nichole's post this morning?

I would not pay a flippin $24 for those thongs.

    ReplyDelete
  82. LOL, Betsy. You are the flip to my BLOP!

    ReplyDelete
  83. 7:13 YES!! I thought it was just my inner fat girl seeing that. And the color scheme looks like McD uniforms from the 80's.

    ReplyDelete
  84. 7:16 LOL - I wasn't sure what you meant, but while looking at Betsy's stuff that's EXACTLY how I read that. Hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Lots of cute stuff in the SU catalogue.
Some of it is stale, but there are some winners. It is all to pricey for me though. Thanks for the link.

    ReplyDelete
  86. SU had 3 sets I loved. No way am I paying those outrageous prices and they are not even clear. Trying to get away from bulky, non see through red rubber.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Whoa, those sperm just jump right out at you! I didn't really see the explosive diarrhea on the birds last month, but that's totally sperm.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I agree SPERM! it also reminded me of how the Cheesecake Factory is decorated with sperm too...LOL every time I eat there I always think "why would anyone would decorate with sperm shapes, or fertilized egg" lol

here is a link so some random page that I found had a picture of the inside of the restaurant, its the 3rd pic down...tell me that doesn't look like sperm?...

    ReplyDelete
  90. And just my personal opinion. I guess some people have to defend themselves and others don't :p

    ReplyDelete
  91. I don't like red rubber either, even if it's cling. I do have some old stamps and sets that are wood mount that I collect but I don't like to stamp with rubber.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'm leaning the same way, but there are still too many that are only rubber that I really like.

I think clear really spoils us!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Damn that Betsy! She has actually gotten me excited about a PTI release for the first time in MONTHS! Fuckin' flip flops!!!!

  96. The only thing on my wishlist since my self imposed hiatus is the strawberry set. I don't see anything this month that would make me want to buy. I am sad about the hydrangeas though. I would have liked them to be similar to the YOF sets.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'm willing to bet other companies will be doing flip-flops this spring/summer, so there will be plenty of better options if we wait a couple months.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Re: the lake in Pine's set looking like a sperm? Oh please, some of you just WANT to find things to smack, and you will pull them out of thin air if you need to. Well, here, I will give you a present: the canoe in the circle looks like a vajajay. So there. Now get your minds out of the gutter and join me down here in the sewer! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  99. Oh, my bad... I think it is a kayak, not a canoe. Still a vajajay though. >;-)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Rick, do you know if questions posted on the Zendesk forum will be answered? I understand that issues that need a trouble ticket are being taken care of, but what about the items being asked or mentioned on the forum area

Another thought about closing tickets. Instead of PTI deciding that the ticket should be closed, why not leave that decision to the customer?

    ReplyDelete
  101. you must have one scary looking vajayjay :/

    ReplyDelete
  102. 12:15 The forum is supposed to be looked at daily and questions answered. If that is not happening I can certainly resolve that issue.

The problem with letting the customer decide when to close the ticket...a lot of times if we provide the answer in the ticket, the customer does not respond...then you find yourself waiting for them and they never come back. I personally leave tickets open if I am not certain the issue has been resolved..
Closed really just means you do not expect a response from the customer, and they do not expect a response from you. When we initially setup zendesk, the system did not send out an email when the ticket got closed...so if you responded and then closed it, the customer only knew it was resolved if they logged into zendesk!! bad... but that was fixed after the first week or so..

    ReplyDelete
  103. Rick, thanks for the response. I realize now it's kind of a trivial or picky question. The area that seems a bit odd is the Out of Stock area, since mainly, the answer is "read Nicole's blog". Kind of feels like a person is free to ask, but won't really get a useful answer.

I understand the point about closing the tickets as well. I was thinking about other entities I've submitted trouble tickets to. I think the process was something to the effect that the user would respond to say yes, it's fixed or if the user didn't respond in a set amount of time, then it was closed.

    Again, thanks for your response.

    ReplyDelete
  104. 11:53, I don't think that's pulled out of thin air - that's what it looks like!

Almost every year there is a thread on SCS that is often started by a Stampin' Up demo and it's something like "things that make me go hmmmmmm?..." It's the same thing - sometimes it's stamps, sometimes it's card or 3d samples. People here smack the business and smack the designs because it gets a little sickening reading everything from unicorns (just like some SU demos) who don't seem to be able to look at anything with a critical eye.

But you know, if you don't like that sort of thing, don't read the thread. Same story here.

    ReplyDelete
  105. No way in hell I'm paying $24 for flip flops. Now the dies? Love that. Like others said, can stamp my own pattern or use PP. Really, they made some cute cards today. I liked them, anyway. But then, I'm really "simple" when it comes to cards. I think Nichole's cards today were better than anything she put out in the midst of the big bru-ha on the forums. Maybe still not her best, but I thought they were cute.

Summer Sunrise and Fine Linen pattern packs? What a surprise!! Not. They were already on the website. Whoops! I think Rick 'hid' them after they were found. Bad IT. Bad.

    ReplyDelete
  106. just found this blog.

I would love it if you would add There She Goes Stamps and Scrapy Land to you list of online stores. I only promote companies where there is a high level of customer service...not just great products. Each and everytime I have ordered from these 2 companies, I have received service BEYOND my expections...says so much about how they care for their customers.

Thanks for creating an outlet for people to share their opinions and experiences without censorship.

    ReplyDelete
  107. 13:29, whatever

    ReplyDelete
  108. Please, for all that is good and holy, don't let this woman write customer service responses. This is what I received after reopening my Zendesk ticket.

"I am very sorry for the "sweet" stamp situation. As we do not have any of this stamp, we cannot send it to you. The stamp was not part of the original set and our printer made a mistake when they printed the wrong insert (we sent them the revision and they printed the original sheet). Now we must wait for the stamp to be manufactured and shipped to us. I am not sure how long it will take. I would plan on 3 weeks, minimum. I hope that helps!!

Thanks and have a wonderful day!!

    Take care,

    Julie Heskamp"

Hey, PTI, I don't care what your excuses are. How about this?

I'm so sorry about the missing stamp. As soon as we noticed the issue, we placed a large order with the manufacturer. We expect to receive this order on May XX and be able to send your stamp to you by May YY. If this timetable is delayed, we'll contact you. Again we are sorry this was left out of the original set. Thanks for your patience.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Julie sure is a fucking idiot! Why do they always point the blame on others? Isn't it PTI's fault that their quality control sucks donkey balls? That's where the blame belongs!

    ReplyDelete
  110. So, I broke down and ordered - rather, my mother broke me down. When I told her I wasn't getting her PTI cardstock for mother's day because I had a bad CS experience with PTI and wasn't ordering, she really let me know how disappointed she was! (I get her cardstock for holidays/her bday...she's still not sold on clear stamps but she likes the cardstock and colors) anyway.. I warned her that it probably wouldn't be here by mother's day because of shipping issues they have. Much to my surprise - it was here in 5 days. I'm not saying their problems are fixed or anything like that... just if you've been iffy about ordering, maybe do it at the beginning of the month? Before the release volume, and after they finish sorting out the issues caused by the release?

    ReplyDelete
  111. I thought they had claimed they sent that sweet stamp out to all the people who needed it by April 16th (a couple weeks after they said they would but it is what it is)??

Now they're saying they aren't ordered yet? Or did they run out?

    What's the deal?!

And if that was the case - that the manuf. printed the wrong sheet, then why didn't they just say that up front when it happened?? It wasn't a missing sentiment, it was a printing error. Period.

Yeah, Julie, let's just change the story whenever you feel like it.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I don't get it either. Is this the sentiment that you were asking about?

    http://forum.papertreyink.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33925&p=376974#p376974

    ReplyDelete
  113. So this is maybe a subsequent order of that stamp - they sent out the first batch that people didn't get it, and now people are still ordering it and they have to order more "sweet"s?

At what point are they going to stop selling the set until they've all had the sentiment added in?

Something at PTI reeks. How many times can you fuck up one thing?

    ReplyDelete
  114. http://forum.papertreyink.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=35308

  115. Thanks Rick. I didn't see that one. So they fixed the packaging - and now no one should expect it with that set anymore?

So the person who filed that ticket shouldn't be getting it anyway? Then why did Julie say '3 weeks?'

I know it doesn't affect me but it's like a mystery. LOL - with lots of twists and turns.

  118. Is everyone ready to forgive PTI and thinking that the problems with shipping are in the past? Sounds like a lot of people will give up their boycott if they see something they like.

Or are you going to give it another release or two, watch to see if there are still problems, and if not - then forgive & forget?

Just wondering. On the fence here.

  119. seriously, how many cards with flip-flops are people planning to make? Cute enough, but it's like a one use set....$5 set people

Shipping was a small part of my frustration with PTI. My biggest problem with them is how they treat customers. As long as the three musketeers are in charge, I don't think that will ever change.

They also will be coming out with a Pretty Peonies "happy" die that was previewed on Maile's blog this morning.

  125. does anyone else find it weird when Nichole lists the sizes of stamps and dies and says things like 2/5" ???

On what planet is an inch ever divided in 5ths? I noticed this on the last release too... I was like, WHAT?

    ReplyDelete
  126. ROFL!! Yes, that is weird.

I've never noticed it before. No one does that.

  127. I'm flippin passing on the flop set. I agree with other posters, there are more than shipping issues for me as far as PTI is concerned. No ordering for four months now. Never thought I would break my addiction - I'm over them.

    ReplyDelete
  128. "Adventure and Explore" makes no sense. The 2 words do not belong together on the label. It is like saying "Yarn and Knit".

Shipping options haven't changed at all for internationals, so I am passing on ordering from PTI. For those in the USA it might have improved.
$32.50 for a minimum order is just too much when other companies out there can manage better options.
I know all the excuses that PTI come up with for not changing their position, but it just sounds like it is in the 'too hard basket' for them.
Not a big deal - it is easy to move on, and give money to the companies that really seem interested in caring for their international customers.

  134. No kidding on that last card! "Fun and artsy?!" It's like ink vomit. The chevrons don't look nice with that design and the kraft doesn't make ANY sense at all. She just tried to squeeze out one too many.

    I've broken my addiction too.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Clearly, "fun and artsy" isn't Nichole's gift.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Why would a ton of stamp companies start doing flip flops? The impression obsession set I linked was from 2008. Been there done that....which makes me wonder why PTI is doing them again.

Like someone else said - how many flip flop cards will anyone really make to justify the price tag of the PTI set???

I agree about the last 'ink vomit' card...NH should have not wasted her energy. It makes me wonder if she thinks everything she touches is gold.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Nothing this month is a "must buy".

The hydrangeas are OK but I wonder why they didn't put them out before Mother's Day? There's a MD sentiment in that set and it seems like a MD set. I have this hero arts hydrangea and it's a beauty!
    http://shop.heroarts.com/products/productdetail/part_number=K5376/1571.0.1.1

I like the flip flop set someone posted yesterday a lot more than PTIs.
    http://www.franticstamper.com/Impression-Obsession-Clear-Stamp--Flip-Out_p_42731.html
PTIs is so wide and squared off. Like you have a big caveman foot. Def not worth $24.

The camp set is a good idea, I'm just not a fan of the actual images. Looks too much like an Old Navy graphic or something.

The only thing I kind of want is the flower die for Pretty Peonies. I wish the "happy" die was cut tighter, but it's too puffed up to use alone (without the stamped image inside).

    ReplyDelete
  138. I saw a girl on the FSOT board list her stamps with links to the set on the PTI website.

I wish all sellers would do that. Some people aren't familiar with all the names enough to remember what the particular set looks like and it makes it easy to click, review, and pm with a "Hell yes I want that set!" LOL

    ReplyDelete
  139. ^^^ Me again, and before anyone jumps on me saying I shouldn't be so lazy and just look it up myself, my tip was to make it EASIER for your customer to buy your crap so unclench.

A little extra work on your end might reap better results. At least that is what we've been trying to get PTI to understand.

    HTH!

  141. I agree that NH's last card was hideous, but I have to say this is the first month in a long time that I have been tempted. I think the phone is adorable and if the flip flops weren't so expensive I would consider them.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Thanks for posting the EH discount. Just placed an order. Love how fast she ships!

I'm also ordered that Impression Obsession flip flop set. It's cute & a much better price. Plus there were a couple of other things I wanted from Frantic Stamper anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Just checked out the other flip flop set. I gotta say, I'm quite surprised at how similar the designs are. Not the concept, that's pretty generic and considered fair game. But right down to the patterns on the flip flops. Flowers, polka dots, and stripes. The extra flower and dots included. Could be coincidence, just sayin. Definitely a great alternative, especially considering the price difference.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I wonder what is going on with Mish? She has not had much of a blog post in a long time. On facebook all of her post are about things she is selling. Maybe she is in a cleaning mood...I wanted to see what else she did with the strawberry set.

    ReplyDelete
  145. And don't forget that Beach Day set from PTI that already had flip flops. I know it's a different style but like the person here said - it's not like it hasn't been done a lot already.

I think that's the problem for a lot of stamp companies right now. There are so many that do the same thing as has been done a million times already - if you don't have a really special style or twist to put on it then there doesn't seem much point. UNLESS... .what PTI counts on: Some people pick a company or two and stick with it. Just buy what they do and don't bother looking anywhere else. I think that's a big difference between the unis and the smackers. Smackers like to shop around and see alternatives. Unis are happy in their tunnel vision - they like PTI, like their other products too, so just wait around (and sometimes make requests)and are happy with whatever stamps PTI does.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Agree that Nichole's last card was awful. My retinas were burning.

Also, I took a look at Dawn McVey's cards. Did anyone else notice that her alignment on the last card was just plain bad. Sloppy, just plain sloppy. I expect more from someone on the DT . . . especially when you consider the handset is such a tiny piece that you can afford to throw it away and redo.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Question: How pissed off do you think Nichole is at Ashley Newell?

If you follow the link from Nichole's blog, you immediately see a non-PTI post, albeit Ashley's "second post of the day."

    DOH!

    ReplyDelete
  148. I don't usually like what Dawn does but I liked these - but you are right about that last one. She could have put things at an angle purposefully to have that old cartoony phone ringing and jangling off the hook - that could be cute. But obviously not the intent.

Whoa. Ashley. tsk tsk. I'm sure not cool to NH.

But then - I've been wanting those Nantucket stamps! Thanks for the reminder, Ash!

  152. Selling a die for the anniversary set is a pretty good marketing idea for PTI, I would think.

First, customer spends $600 to accumulate the 24 points to get the set. Then, spend $18 to get the dies to go with the "free" set.

Although, marketing and promotion hasn't ever really been the problem, it is the service during and after the sale that has been the issue.

Someone had asked earlier about buying. I admit that there are products that I would like to get. I haven't ordered for nearly a year. First, waiting for the new website and then didn't want to order when it was so messed up.

I selfishly would like to get the items that I like, and I'm sure the fact that I'm not ordering doesn't affect PTI at all. Still, things like the mass e-mail deletion & what seems to be a continuing feeling of the customer being an imposition still bother me.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I notice there's no problem letting the positive customer service threads clutter up the forum. It's just those pesky negative ones that need to be swept under the rug.

    ReplyDelete
  154. 12:25 Only because the positive threads do not require a solution. The negative ones are best posted on Zendesk because they will get resolved there. HTH <------ :)

  167. On The Farm = Yuck

And Maile's hydrangea card looks so dull. Either her ink pads are drying up or her photoshop skills need work. Usually her work is crisp and bright.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I used to get so excited about every sneak peak and release. Now since I've taken a step back I can honestly say......everything I see is MEH....very average or below average.
I don't know if it's because I know buy many other brand etc. or PTI has just really done downhill. Or maybe a little from column A and a little from column B?

    ReplyDelete
  169. I like what the dt has done with on the farm. I might buy it if I was currently shopping at pti. I have also been thinking about how expensive it gets to buy a $24 set with dies. The farm set has the animal dies and the barn so for one complete set, it can cost a lot of dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I wonder if there will be any line drawings in the hydrangea set? They all look solid. Either way, they also look very small. I would prefer to have something that would cover a card front.

    ReplyDelete
  171. There are a few cute things this month. I like the phone....already have a phone. I have chevron dies. Flip-flops are cute if they were $5 (and how many times will u make flip-flop cards). I would never use the farm stuff.
So easy to pass on everything this month.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Yuck to it all! I don't see one thing that calls to me. Everyone is out of ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I find none of it appealing enough to want to own, but some of those projects are cute. They have a "make it work" quality.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I think I'll like the background set, the woodgrain, checkers.

The pun sentiments do appeal to me.

And the chicken wire items are OK, kind of like the hexagon shapes that are everywhere now.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I like Nichole's barn project...well the outside anyway. The barn backgrounds I'd like to see the whole set.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I have had to stop buying stamps and dies that are too trendy because I just don't make enough cards to justify them. I have 7 or 8 owl sets and doilies and doughnuts and too many birds to count. I strongly dislike them all now.

    ReplyDelete
  177. How much do you think it would cost to buy the farm set, the animal dies, the barn die and the chicken wire background set? That's a chunk of change!

    ReplyDelete
  178. I really like the font in the farm set.

    ReplyDelete
  179. .....should say font combination.

    ReplyDelete
  180. The farm set is very taste-specific. I'm not into the country thing but I will give credit where credit is due. The farm and barn background (well, at least the wooden boards we've seen) are pretty cool. I already have the woodgrain stamp but the boards are neat. Enables you to replicate the My Minds Eye Miss Caroline paper . . .

    ReplyDelete
  181. PTI having a one day coupon code as suggested by a poster on the forum would be the WORST. IDEA. EVER.

Well, the only idea worse than that would be to have Julie solely responsible for the customer service clusterofproblems that would follow.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I have to say, it seems as if the creativity is returning. I am tempted, but will sit on my hands. I already have a very cute flip-flop die from Cuttlebug and it includes a bare foot with it too. My students would love the farm set and that is why it tempts me. I have a phone I am going to pull out and work with and will post my flip flop card on my blog later today, if I have time. I want to see how a few more releases go before I do much. The problem is, that now with the forum gagged and tied, how do we really know if things are better or not?

    ReplyDelete
  185. Are the Just Rite Stamps clear or are they still rubber and require those specific Just Rite Blocks to attach to?

    ReplyDelete
  186. It's a no win situation I think as far as the gagged forum goes. I understand why the forum shouldn't be filled with complaints because it just breeds pile-ons.

When I read things like Julie's latest customer service response to the person requesting the missing stamp it makes me not want to even give PTI another chance. I guess I feel that they should be bending over backwards apologizing for every single error. I am just not sure that Julie is capable of forming those types of sentences.

Rick, maybe you could send her an anonymous note asking her to step away from customer service entirely.

    ReplyDelete
  187. ^^^^ I guess the anonymous part would be difficult. I only suggested it because you probably wouldn't want to hurt her feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  188. How much do you think it would cost to buy the farm set, the animal dies, the barn die and the chicken wire background set? That's a chunk of change!
    ----------------

You forgot about the chicken wire IP if you want the whole kit-n-kaboodle!

    Farm stamp set = $24
    Farm dies = $5
    Barn Shape-Up die = $13
    Wire/wood background = $18
    Wire impression plate = $16

    TOTAL = $76

I really do like the whole line, but not sure I can see putting out this kind of $$$ for it.

    ReplyDelete
  189. The farm dies are only $5 ? That seems low.

  191. I don't think what you do with your OWN blog as a dt member is disrespecting anyone at all.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Are you on a prominent DT? I think not, cause you would know it IS disrespectful and frowned on to have a major release sneak peek posts linking to a NON company related post.

Most DTs actually spell out in writing that their post has to be at the top of the blog for 24 hours during these kind of hop.

    ReplyDelete
  193. i disagree 8:50, i think manu's pick DT members based on the quality and followers of the blog. Even though it may be a "personal" blog, there are certain expectations for a DT member. As a common courtesy for the manu they represent, they could use some common sense and schedule posts appropriately.

    ReplyDelete
  194. I agree with 8:50, and besides... not sure why PTI would be upset with the other post she had that day. It was not for a competing company, it was a magazine color challenge, and she used more PTI products than non-PTI products in the project.

Smackers will see smack-able stuff wherever they look for it, no matter how ridiculous is it to smack.

    ReplyDelete
  195. Again, are you on a manu DT? If you aren't then you wouldn't know.

It's all about the clicks and links. Companies don't want any clicks to go AWAY from their hop and their company in ANY way.

During company hops, your blog is NOT your personal blog. That's just the way it is.
