  3. Yahoo!!!!!!! I'm 4th

  4. totally off topic but do people actually make cards that say "hello" or "hi" on the front? wtf? what's the point? Lordy Bees....now there's a sentiment you would use

    ReplyDelete
  5. ^^^ I've been wondering the same thing! I guess if you haven't seen someone in a long time and you just want to send a card to say hi... What I really don't get? Cherish, Delight, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  6. and shit like Live Out Loud - what does that even mean?
"HI" - why don't you just text that or call the person and say it?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh great. I just made a card last night that said hello on the front. lol
I'm sending it to the mom of a friend (who died tragically years ago) as we occasioanlly keep in touch and talk about her son.
I don't see anything wrong with it personally.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I like hello cards, i don't like the real sappy ones, like Cherish, etc

    ReplyDelete
  9. Never did understand "live your bliss" sentiment and how/where/why you would use it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I will be very happy if I can use my reward points to buy gift certificates. That way I can buy items from the for sale forum and use them as payment. I am international and I don't want to pay the stupid shipping OR give Papertrey 1 cent of my real money.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I use all those sentiments. When they come pre-made on papers and diecuts. If I am sending a package out that's not for any particular occasion, maybe someone ordered something from me, I don't want to send it with nothing, so those cards are pretty generic to write a quick note in.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Would someone please send Cindy a book about punctuation?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I saw hello on a card the same way I say hello on the phone.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I say hello, hi, and occasionally hey on cards all the time.

Also, My Cute Stamps is having a 50% off sale right now. There was no news on the blog, so hopefully she isn't closing up the stamp shop. But it looked like she didn't have a current DT, like it was all previously DT members. Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey smackers, I'm a little bit new here but someone passed something along to me and i was wondering if you all could chime in with your opinion on this.

Did you guys see the thing with Mark's Finest Papers awhile back. A chick on SCS showed that they stole art from internet searches, Faith Hofrichter reappeared and had a little rant, thread shut down.

Go to the MFP blog, and in the list of DT members, at the very bottom is "Anna S." Visit her blog and tell me if that photo is (colorful adjectives deleted) Faith and her son. Some people say it is. If so, she's invented a whole new identity for herself.

Then back to PTI smack cuz they deserve it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't know what Faith looks like enough to say either way. The photo is titled Anna and her granddaughter and I am inclined to believe that. I think the "some" may be stretching it a bit here.

BUT, I don't believe for a minute that Faith received fecies on her porch or the nastiness she claims. She stole images from all over the internet and got busted. The illustrators most likely contacted her with a cease and desist order. Faith, to save face, invented this entire thing.

I know for a fact that she hasn't gone very far as she PM and emails people on SCS all the time who chimes in about the entire debacle. She is a liar and a thief, plain and simple.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Pretty lovey-dovey on the PTI forum at the moment and Dawn is verrrrry busy - has an answer on nearly all the threads and has even bumped up a few older comments - maybe to knock the unpopular items lower down the list..

    Makes everything look pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh Dawn, please please dump that studio calico crap. your cards are terrible since you've started pimping their hideous product. I know, I know, you are doing the best you can with what you have to work with, but bless your sweet little tea drinking heard, i used to love your cards sooooo much. and now I care less if I ever visit your blog.

    Signed,
    Unimpressed

    ReplyDelete
  19. No, I don't think that Anna is Faith. Looks nothing like her, really. Faith is much younger and blond.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just out of curiosity, waiting for an appointment, I googled some photos of Faith. Yep. I'd say it's her. And what's this about the contest she won in a stamp store? 40 stamp sets!?! Must not have been selling. But she won them a 'few months ago' and then got a call from "the cashier" (???) 'a few days ago' ??? What is this woman on. Yowza.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I kind of think it's her. I did the Google and there are photos of her much heavier than the one she used to use on SCS. I wonder if that SCS avatar was just an old photo of her when she was younger.

So sad that someone would need attention that badly.

    ReplyDelete
  22. RE: Mark's Finest Papers

I hardly know anything about Faith and all the stuff that went on in the past. BUT, "Anna's" blog does seem strange. Maybe I'm cynical, but I just don't believe Anna's story that she won 40 stamp sets plus paper, ribbon, and markers (from MFP) from a store in Ohio. Then a few months later she is she is invited to be on the DT. Hinky if you ask me.

Not that I care that much, but you asked;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, Anna S is very fishy. NOBODY that new to making cards colors that good with copics. It's taken me a couple years to get pretty good.

Also, the story of how she got invited to be on the team doesn't pass the smell test.

But, Faith can't be that stupid to use a picture of HERSELF and her son as her profile pic. I am still not convinced that is her.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Faith's SCS avatar pic looked nothing like her. I saw a picture posted of Faith on SCS awhile ago when she was at some stamping event I was SHOCKED at how heavy and different she looked from her avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Looking at the picture of Anna and her granddaughter, I could be convinced that that was a very old photo - like maybe from the 1960's or 70's. Perhaps the granddaughter is Faith, and "Anna" is her mother or grandmother's name?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Can I just say that I'm so happy that I didn't order this month's release! So happy to not have to worry about the status of my package.

I've been more than happy to get my packages from Crafts Meow, Lawn Fawn, and Simon Says.

And I'm super excited about the April WPlus9 release! Ahhhh, stress free shopping and stamping:)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I use "hello" cards the same as "thinking of you" cards. I never have used Cherish or Live Your Bliss or Live/Laugh/Love.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think Hello or Hi is fine for a card front too - like someone said, it's the start of a conversation, like on the phone.

Yes, I agree, the Anna S thing is a front - doesn't matter whose picture it is, unless MFP is desperate, no one offers you a place on a design team because you've sent them a few cards and have never blogged before. Of course, if they are stealing art then maybe they are desperate!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I love stress-free shopping too!! It's like Becky said on her blog - wake up, people ;) !! Lots of happy shopping elsewhere.

Next month I will be placing an A Muse order and love every second of it.

So how will this "Give your rewards points away" thing end?

    Let us discuss.

I think PTI will find some convoluted reason to not let reward points be transferred to another customer. And I'm sure their reason will piss me off, even though I'm not a stakeholder in the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  31. How could they object to using reward points to buy GC's for someone else?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Let us discuss.

    29 March 2012 12:30

OK explain this to me as I must be confused and I haven't shopped since they began the rewards thing. But is there some reason they are prohibited from buying GCs with reward point? Is it you can only use reward point for certain items and GCs isn't one of them? I guess I don't understand the transferring rewards part.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 12:54, the only way to get the anniversary set is to use reward points. But you don't *have* to use them toward that set, you can use them any other way you want. You just can't purchase the anniv. set outright. I find it odd that anyone would even ask if you can buy g.c. with the points. It seems like a given to me. Some people can't make a move without PTI approval apparently.

I had to laugh that a customer just went and bought the g.c. with reward points to test it and it worked... but PTI will spend a few weeks of everyone there asking everyone else if it's possible.

If you're a PTI addict and prayer is your thing, I suggest you start. But don't pray for them... pray for yourself to see the light. They DO NOT DESERVE loyal customers.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's like Ted, I think he'd ask Nichole how to wipe his ass if he could. He can't make a move without running it by everyone on the forum and then seeing if they all want to go in on a group buy for it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So let me get this straight. If you use reward points, you need to spend $70 real money for free shipping. But if you use gift cert, you just need to spend $70 before the gift cert is applied and it qualifies for free shipping? Wtf?

    ReplyDelete
  36. He wouldn't ask her how. Just how to fold the tp or how much he'd love to buy asswipe in Aqua Mist or Pinefeather. Just sayin'

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm really glad more people are starting to speak out through their blogs!

And Ted is such a groupie he makes me nauseous.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Every brick-and-mortar rewards program I am a member of specifically excludes the purchase of gift certificates with your rewards points/money. You can earn points by spending a gift certificate, but you don't earn by buying one and you can't redeem rewards for one. That includes the Hallmark Gold Crown program as well as programs in locally-owned stores. Obviously there's another glitch in their website - or their business practice. Imagine that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think they will pull the reward points for GC's pretty soon. They will say that the reward points are points and have no cash value.

Then there's the pesky reward points issue. If you buy a GC with reward points and someone redeems the GC. They earn reward points for redeeming the GC. Not of a huge amount lost for PTI but still a loss.

    ReplyDelete
  41. So use those points for GC's quick before they catch on. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just another case of them putting something in place and having absolutely no idea of how to handle it.

I have reward points that I may use eventually but really don't care so much anymore. And I ask myself - why do I follow this crazy saga?

I think I wonder how long it can continue - it's like watching someone trying to break the world record for screw-ups.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I just used up all of my reward points for gc's which is awesome. I can use them to buy things from the for sale for or get a US friend to buy items for me so that PTI doesn't get any of my real money.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Inspector Cluseaux needs to shut the fuck up!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just used my reward points for GC's too!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. 14:37 here - forgot to mention that I got an error when I ordered but still got the GC codes

    ReplyDelete
  47. I did the same thing ~ bought g.c. with my reward points (got the error msg too). Now to find someone I know who still buys from PTI to give them to!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well done, smackers. Well done.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Geez, I can't even get arrested! I tried to get a GC with my rewards and it asked me to input my CC details first. It wouldn't proceed without it. I didn't want to risk those folks charging me then me having to get in that long ass line of CS and risk my email being deleated when it got too hard for them again. I was so looking forward to getting and sending a GC too. Dang it!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Does this redemption only work for PayPal you think?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I used Paypal, didn't get charged.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thought so. I just did it again using PayPal and from my logged in details it seems to have gone through. I sent the GC to myself, but have yet to get confirmation of this via email from PTI. Typical. According to Terry on the Forum, she got all the confirmations straight away. PTI has me jumping at shadows in anticipation that something is sure to go wrong. Shopping should not be so stressful where PTI is concerned. Sigh. I need a drink.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Does it matter if you don't get a confirmation? I don't have one either but as long as the codes work....
Also, do you have to put an email address in the send to email field?

    ReplyDelete
  54. If I don't want the anniversary set then it makes sense to buy gift certificates because you can still qualify for free shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  55. From Becky Oehler's FB today (talking about getting too many friend requests from strangers, and probably crafters):

Niki E - People are just curious what we think of it all because we used to work there. Since we never really said anything about why we left, some just wonder

Becky - yes, but I won't talk about it anymore. they don't deserve it.

    Niki - :)

    ...

Jessica D - oh, lol no, no- it was just mentioning that you and Niki had at one point spoken out about stuff. Although I didn't see either of you speaking out anywhere but I didn't really know this was al going on until today, so...what do I know, LOL. Looks like someone has finally dug a hole a little too deep tho...but that's ALL I'm gonna say 'bout that. at least in writing :D

Becky - ..and Lauren. And Geny... I don't think it was just Niki and me, right Niki Estes? lol

Jessica D - sorry, again not what I meant, lol. Just don't know Lauren or Geny, but yes, I think I read that. I think the good news is, everyone knows now what they need to know so really why talk about it because it's pretty freaking obvious. I jumped off that train years ago...saw it coming from half a world away....

Becky - @Jess- Just took a look at the thread. It was all really nice. I just don't want to be a gossip monger. It is over with, and God can take care of the rest, which seems like what is happening.

Jessica D - That's what I meant all along. Everyone was really nice toward you, other dt, etc and I think we all know the mutual feeling among the masses and yes, seems that the ball's set in motion, so...no need to discuss :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. 14:05, you beat me to this. I was just on SCS and saw that thread. Lots of stampers are now coming out with their own stories on their blogs. Good for them!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I find it odd that anyone would even ask if you can buy g.c. with the points. It seems like a given to me. Some people can't make a move without PTI approval apparently.

I had to laugh that a customer just went and bought the g.c. with reward points to test it and it worked...

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That's what I was thinking when the question came up on the board. Why did someone need to ask that question? Why didn't they just try to do it? People are weird.

On the other hand, this is obviously yet another thing that they have not thought through. Logically, you should not be able to buy GCs with the rewards points. (I dont know of any other rewards program that allows it but ok I don't know all of them out there). But the way it is supposed to work, the "illusion" is that you are getting rewarded with money for being a loyal customer. And you sort of are, but that's the come on. The upside for the vendor is that psychologically, this enticement makes people spend more over time. And not all customers see the downside for them if they see it at all
BUT, if GCs are included, it works out as a net loss for them each time, and that is why typically GCs are not included in rewards redemption programs.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Clearly PTI brass hasn't realized that. So buy on smackers. If the tables were turned, don't you think they'd find a way to make more money off your back?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I bet the Simply You sentiment replacement is going to turn into another anniversary set nightmare.

    Just watch.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I did have to provide cc info to use the reward points for a g.c. but as long as i saw it zero out before I hit the final purchase button, I was okay with it.

I tell you this though -- IF I get charged a dime, i will be making direct phone calls to every damn Heady or Heskamp in the book until I have my money back! No CS BS for me.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was worried that I might somehow get charged shipping or tax or some other messed up amount. That's why I am glad that the question was asked about the gc's.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Is it just me or is that whole 4page Papertrey thread missing from the SCS forum this morning?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Truth is Hostage30 March 2012 at 07:26

I feel so bad that the internationals are having to give up on using their rewards points and buying GCs to give to others. But paying $30+ shipping for "free" stuff does seem criminal.

How are you guys going to pick who you'll give your GCs to?

    ReplyDelete

  66. Ted is such a hypocrite! Isn't asking about another stamp company on PTI's forum pretty much the same thing as posting a link? What a twatwaffle!

    ReplyDelete
  67. If you want to try Neenah cardstock, here's an offer I got on twitter. I think you have to buy a ream. I've heard their Solar White is great, but don't know about the colors. They have it in 110#.
"Happy Friday! For fun Twitter followers we've got free shipping (on paper only not samples/promos) on http://neenahpaper.com use code TWIT10"

  68. Somebody asked about Julie Lacey (Stamps and Taxes) awhile ago and I missed the conversation after that. Anyone know what happened to her? She hasn't posted since December 11th.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The 4 page thread entitled "where's my thread" on the PTI forum IS missing.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 09:59 - If you mean the thread asking where the PTI thread went, it looks like the mods moved it to the tech forum (Site Suggestions or some such thing)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well it isn't in my list of posts when I pull them up (where's my thread) and I know I posted on it. So if you have a link since I can't find that forum that would be interesting

    ReplyDelete
  72. crs16 - I am so sorry!!!! I misread your post and I thought you were asking about the "where's the pti thread" on the Splitcoast forum. Reading comprehension would be a good thing, if only I had it

    ReplyDelete
  73. ^^^ Someone probably said something nice about Dawn and added some sunshine, and they thought that it was a personal attack, so they deleted it!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I guess they can ban people and delete anything that they like because it's their forum. :-o

I would really like to tell Ted how rude he is being but he already thinks that I have something personal against him
( I do) and I would just look like a trouble maker so I won't bother.

    ReplyDelete
  75. How did you all buy GC's with reward points, I just tried it and ALL the gift certificates show as unavailable? Or was I too late and they caught on...?

    ReplyDelete

  81. Julie,
I was the one that originally asked about you. I love your work and wanted to know why you hadn't blogged in so long. I suppose I could have just asked you. :-p

    ReplyDelete
  82. I bet they blocked the sale of gc's so that they can figure out how to stop people from buying them with reward points. Glad I got mine.

    ReplyDelete
  83. No, I think people were just worried about you, Julie! Someone one a previous thread said they missed seeing your blog posts...someone ELSE chimed in that you were just studying for a big exam :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. I was wondering if Dawn will get the stink eye from Nichole for thanking the poster who explained exactly how to buy the gc's with reward points.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I hope that all of the internationals got their gc's!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Add that 2 your list30 March 2012 at 19:57

Wonder if little miss sunshine is going to be put on a short leash now. Nich and Julie won't be too happy if Dawn never took the question to them because a poster said "it works" and now they're out money. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  87. One international here who has $20 in rewards points, but to spend some on say a $15 stamp set, the postage would be $32.50.

Cannot imagine how I am going to use up my points - hate to let them go, but may have to.

PTI had said they were going to look into other shipping options but I think that could be filed under the other 'we will look into it ' promises that don't eventuate.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I have had an overwhelming response to my blog post. Surprisingly, I have not had one person respond by disagreeing. I was fully prepared to have some heated disagreement, but--not one.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I was just shopping in Impress in Seattle yesterday and the customer service was fabulous. I am not sure, but I think I once ordered a really light order and I think they refunded some of the shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  91. BTW, I bought the Merlot Fresh Ink yesterday and it is totally gorgeous. A deep, deep, crimson.

    ReplyDelete
  92. So, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be ordering from WPlus in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Internationals with rewards points - get a shipping buddy! As long as you don;t order cardstock, and you get your buddy to remove excess packaging - you can ship stamps/dies cheaply.

    ReplyDelete
  94. 23.03 Thanks Yoda the Wise (love that title)

International here - thanks for your suggestion - unfortunately I have rarely commented on the forum and don't know anyone who I could ask for help in shipping.

    Thanks for the suggestion tho.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'm an international customer, and while I could easily get a shipping buddy -I'm not going to bother. I've had enough of the shitty service from PTI and won't be giving them another dollar of mine I'm afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Fair enough.....I'm international too and have a couple of buddies but it wouldn't be worth it otherwise :P

Lots of other places to buy (and enjoy) without the hassle!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am also going with Wplus9 this time. Their first peek is nice :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm the International with $20 in rewards point - just seems too hard to give the money to PTI any more - also cannot be bothered with the hassle.
Will probably buy from WMS or WPlus 9 too - will save that $20 in shipping!!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'm waiting for the new MFT release - chevron die - and WPlus9 release too.

    ReplyDelete
  100. YAY 100th!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. How long does it take for Wplus9 to restock stamps?

    ReplyDelete
  102. @22:27

They only charged me exact shipping. Everything was packed in a bubble envelope. They even sent me a card thanking me for me order. :)

    ReplyDelete
  103. I wish I could take yalls points of your hands! :(

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yeah, count me in on wanting all the unused points!!! I don't want to give pti more money, but I totally want free stuff!!!

    ReplyDelete
  105. MFT has increased their shipping as well. I so want to buy but when I went to the checkout, shipping was as much as PTI :(

    ReplyDelete
  106. I wanted to get the anniversary set with my points but didn't want to give PTI any more money so I'm glad that I was able to convert the points to gc's. That way I can still qualify for free shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I'll rather wait a few months and buy my stuff from Simon says stamps
The MFT stuff is only Slightly overpriced, but the savings on shipping make a huge difference
