PTI stands for Papertrey Ink. This is a collective smack blog and Papertrey Ink review page. Papertrey Ink's continuously poor customer service has lead to a page dedicated to discussion of this stamp company and recommendations for alternative stamp companies. Minimal censorship here- I prefer to leave it up to posters' discretion.
The opinions posted on this blog belong to our visitors and we are not paid for our honest reviews ;)
That's a really stupid thing to do on a holiday when a lot of people are off work and wanting to use the site. Planned maintenance should always be done on the lowest traffic day or in the middle of the night.
That forum gets so little traffic at all anymore that I doubt it hurts them much at all. Disgruntles the would be customers for sure, but there are so few of them anymore.
What's with the ink pad drama? Why can't PTI get some of their inks back in stock? I think the inventory update said the inks would be back in stock in 4-6 months... um, about 4-6 months ago.
Their inks are crap. A slow restock means the manufacturer is probably tinkering with the formula. Again. Can't figure out why they don't just give up. This can't be cost effective.
Maybe they're getting ready for February? To reply to the last posts #214 and 215... All business owners care about your money first. If they cared about you, they wouldn't be in business.
Is anyone else having trouble getting into the PTI site? I do not have problems with any other sites, so it's not my I-pad or my server, I just can't pull up the Papertrey Ink site!
I have been reading everyone's posts going back several years, and I understand the importance of CS to the viability of any business. Even though PTI has made some grievous errors, they have a unique niche in the market and it is pretty unanimous that their products are top notch both in quality and design. I have been a customer of PTI for over 3 years and have had nothing but good luck with them, both in CS, and in quality of product. There are more of us out here than you think. I am definitely going to take these experiences into account, but I am not going to let a few bad apples sour my good experiences. Running a business is tough and theirs has grown much faster than anyone anticipated, I would guess. They are trying, and I'm positive they do care. I am going to continue being a loyal customer (just not a gushy one), and ask that you consider giving them another chance.
When the forum is down for 4-5 days at a time, I get suspicious that there is a problem they don't want customers bringing up and having a bruhaha about. Right after a release makes it even more suspicious especially since some orders are still sitting there a week later and have not been shipped--mine included.
#1: "Their business grew faster than they anticipated" was only a valid excuse a few years ago when they were still new at it. Plus we have heard that line a million times. You must be a noob at this.
#2: The fact that "more people than we think" have had no problems does not make up for the poor treatment of those who *have* had problems. This blog exists because there are problems. Order or don't, who cares-- but the problems continue nonetheless. I do think they are improving somewhat, however.
Jennifer, that "growing fast" excuse got old years ago. There's more negative history with this company than you may be aware of.
"Top notch" quality is debatable with many of their products although I admit that for the most part the quality of their stamps is as good as many other photopolymer stamp companies. "Top notch" design is purely a matter of opinion.
Of most concern probably has been how this company handles customer service issues, shipping, and communication, and various instances of questionable judgment. Those who have experienced problems with them have begun to view them more realistically and with a critical eye. It has nothing to do with giving them another chance - many have given them more chances than they've earned.
My suggestion is you go right ahead being a loyal and naive customer - but don't expect others to blindly follow. You haven't had the experience they have had with PTI. I was a very loyal customer at the beginning and for several years and sang their praises to many others. Hope you don't feel as foolish down the road as I do now.
re ribbonshare. donna c (her name for PTI -- she uses different names on different forums -- think she is sherlock and asked her for an address for the school, claiming that her own school requires that supplies be sent directly to the shcool. an obvious attempt to catch her in a lie. so ribbonshare promptly shares the address.
I've seen enough posted under real names on the PTI forum to know that the issues with Nichole et al are BAD. I take the stuff on this board with a grain of salt.
Bad ink (3 separate times), blaming the customer, crazy shipping, poor CS, downright mean/disrespectful treatment from the owners, screwed up anniversary sets, defective IPs, missing shipments (lost pallets)...all of this info was public on the PTI forum. At least until they swept them away. Many of these things are STILL HAPPENING!
All of that stuff is true. If you want to put your head in the sand and say that "it never happened to me", go ahead but don't say that it never happened.
Does anyone have a good source for medium gray cardstock in a comparable weight to PTI's? I really would like something in between Soft Stone and Smokey Shadow. Is the Steel Gray at MFT basically the same color as Smokey Shadow?
8:05 Not personal pleasure, just stating the truth. I don't lie to myself to make me feel good about giving $ to a shitty company. I still don't get the blind love for PTI. So weird!
Not personal pleasure here either. But since the forum got deleted so did all mention of their shitty service on there. SCS and this blog is the only place to find out their issues. I'm glAd they are coming to be few and far between. But there were some major clusterfucks over there and I don't like how they pretend it never happened
I can't imagine why the inks would have anything to do with the forum.
Several (3 or 4, I think)of the "new & improved inks" are now "temporarily unavailable" because of color issues. I can't remember which all are affected. I'm pretty sure Sweet Blush is one, I believe there are problems with it turning beige.
I haven't been purchasing from PTI so I haven't kept up on the specific details of the issue. I think it's listed on Zendesk which ones are unavailable.
The paisley shaped ink pads. The ones we waited years for to make sure they had time to get the formulation just right? Yeah, those. Check Zendesk if you want to know the specifics on which ones are affected.
•Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hibisicus Burst, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Smokey Shadow and Pure Poppy - We are not sure when these inks will be available. These colors are being reviewed by the manufacturer as there have been a few inconsistencies between batches. We will update you as more information becomes available.
•Inks that are out of stock may not be back in stock for 4-6 months due to the issues with the manufacturer. We are so very sorry for the inconvenience.
==============
It has been way longer than 6 months that this "new" ink fiasco has been going on.
the forum is a disaster. I could not care less if it is up, down, or around. what are you missing? some buy/sell and some inane questions from the DT. I'm insulted by those goofy paid questions.
Yes, 12:53 you're absolutely right. The fact that PTI still has problems with ink after years of reformulating is simply more shit-stirring by malcontents.
06:38, you think if someone mails stuff to RibbonShareGirl's sister at the school then it is sure to stay at the school? Really? Nothing will stop her from taking everything home to her sister. I think the person who decided to hold on to her box of donations made a good decision. I would donate to a local preschool instead.
I think that I would be annoyed at any company if I bought a stamp set and a die and expected that they worked together. I know that I shouldn't make assumptions but is the info posted anywhere but on Nichole's blog?
Re: WOOHOO - Forum is alive! by admin » Wed Jan 23, 2013 5:18 am
It has been a real struggle working with GoDaddy.com getting the server back up. They take a good 24 hours just to respond to tickets...and when the server crashed it took them till yesterday just to get it back up to a blank slate. Our systems administrator (Ilya) and I restored our backup files at 4 this morning and then we went through the process of setting up the forum and gallery software again...
Believe it or not we have 165GB of images in the gallery! Probably one of the biggest galleries in existence
Thanks again for your patience....we will be moving off of GoDaddy servers this week into an environment with a little better support....
Rick
================
Rick must have some big balls to complain about a company's customer service when he works for a company that is the leader in shit service! Un-Fucking-Believable!
Some of you smackers are so hateful. I hope you know that if you show no mercy you will receive it in the same measure. If you hate PTI so much why don't you move on? Or is it you enjoy being so hateful. Pathetic.
I know that nobody will care, but after reading posts like this: "He is a complete asshole and I hope his kids get cancer and die!" and this "Well I pray he gets in a fatal accident, and dies a slow, painful, dismembered death." I am now done coming here. Seriously these are way past being even remotely okay to post... even if it is just 'some troll' trying to bait us. Just awful...
It really is cruel and gives the stamping community a horrible image. I am sure someone will defend it with a dumping cart complaint or something. Awful just awful
Suck it Rick. I have 180 gb of pictures on my harddrive. Y'all ain't that special. Time to drop GoDaddy and get a real hosting company. You all are always pointing fingers at your vendors and suppliers for your problems rather than coming to terms with the facts that it's all your responsibility, including what companies you continue to work with.
And all you people with your panties in a bunch need to just ignore the stupid troll (no, it's not me).
It's obvious to me that the troll is a member of the sunshine-and-unicorns brigade who is doing a bad impression of what she THINKS a smacker would say. She's also trying to make it as disgusting and shocking as possible, likely in an effort to not only bait, but also somehow sabotage this open forum.
I recognize the pattern from a few times before. I'm sure she justifies it by thinking we're worse and think exactly along those lines. Little does she know, most of us don't have any personal feelings toward the owners and Rick; we just want fairness and good business principles to prevail. --Or at the very least, it would be nice for responsibility to be taken when things go sideways.
We don't agree with PTI's handling of situations. Period. Crazy-ass murderous thoughts are only being brought here by one individual who believes she's clever and incognito ...when in reality, she is neither.
Smackers are often blunt and frequently crude, but to take things to the lengths of death and dismemberment is a uni overplaying her hand in the most obvious way.
I think the troll just doesn't like the fact that her gruesome tactics have proven to be so immediately transparent. That's what happens when you lie.
This blog is crass, but when you get right down to it, it's about truth and improvement-- improvement of PTI, improvement of our own stash (sharing what inks work best, new stamp sources, etc.), and improving the acceptance of honest feedback for companies that might (unfortunately for them and for their customer bases) not be open to hearing it in their own backyards.
PTI is not going to change. Never ever. This is this shitty company they turned out to be and you either buy from them or not. Sausage fingers has dug in her heels and she's not going to stop doing what she is currently doing. The Three Stooges continually give their customers the middle finger and you either accept that or not.
16 July 2012 13:33 Anonymous said... Seriously ... Stamper's First Aid? This is what NH has decided to thrust upon her DT when they aren't playing forum cheerleaders? Lordy bees. I bet Lisa & Michelle are thanking their stars they got the hell out of dodge.
Any predictions about the DT's advice?
Dawn - use brighter colors. If you blind the recipient, they won't notice how fugly & off balance it is.
Betsy & Michelle - just pile on a shitload of embellishments.
16 July 2012 13:41 Anonymous said... I'm sorry but Nichole is a sanctimonious bitch and I don't even care if I spelled that right....end of rant
Oh for God's sake! This is a Smack blog people. Grow a pair and either leave or read it, but don't get all "it's gone over the edge" on us.
So there's a Uni Troll. Who cares? Ignore and they will go away. They want to stir shit that's the whole purpose of posting provocative posts like that.
And there is some light smacking on the DT and some other craptastic cards or designers. Who cares? Again, it's a freaking SMACK blog. It doesn't have to strictly stick to "only discussing PTI's customer svc issues".
I swear, if there is a post that offends in some way, just scroll on by or don't come to this blog! I for one need an occasional chuckle so I don't mind the links to Heather's crappy color combo or card of the day.
So they are going through all this effort to shut this blog down. Then what? Everyone magically stops talking about PTI every time they (PTI) show their ass? Doubtful.
No, in the very unlikely event that somehow this blog gets shut down, what will happen is...nothing. A few less breaks will be taken at work to check for new comments, a few more dust bunnies at home will be swept up.
Until PTI screws up again, another PTI smack blog is started and then we can all spend time smacking PTI again.
I think the livid uni troll trying to scare us away and shut this place down is either one of the owners, or related to them, or someone who works for them.
I think there should be a rule that you can only "randomly" win their challenges so many times. Leigh constantly winning looks to me like favoritism. Notice how there were no "randomly selected numbers" generated from random.org? Seems fishy.
Yes,USPS rates are going up! Got this email from Frantic Stamper:
---------------------------- The US Postal Service has just announced a rate increase effective January 27th, 2013. This increase affect all classes of mail with some significant increases for international mail.
The biggest price increases are for First Class packages to Canada, and all “Flat Rate” mailing options to Canada and other international destinations. Some of the increases are as high as 90%! USA mail prices are also rising, but on a much smaller scale.
We are very surprised (and disappointed) at some of the new rates. We know this will affect all our Canadian and overseas customers. Unfortunately, we have no control over this.
Here are a few examples of new rates: A Flat Rate envelope to Canada currently costs $12.95. The new rate as of Sunday will be $19.95! This is a 54% increase! A first class parcel weighing 4 ounces to Canada currently costs $3.45. The new rate will be $6.45. (87% increase!) A Medium Flat Rate box to Europe is currently $47.95. The new rate will be $59.95. (25% increase)
Again, USA rates are going up too. Thankfully, they are not going up as much. USA rates for a Medium Flat Rate Priority box are going up a little over $1, and rates by weight are increasing approximately 6% to 10%. ---------------------- As an international, it really irks me when Americans complain about shipping costs and delivery times. So you may have to wait four days for a parcel to arrive AND pay $6 for shipping. Too bad, so sad. Patience is a virtue people.
I see that Amber Kemp-Gerstel's quest for becoming a crafting 'celebrity' is well on it's way, Susan Opel is practically creaming her pants on Facebook about being with her. The sycophantic behaviour of these so called 'celebs' sickens me, just goes to show that it's not about talent, it's about who you know.
Amber has talent, don't get me wrong, it's just her desperation to 'be somebody' is so off putting, I liked her so much better before she tried to turn into a second rate Martha Stewart wannabe.
She clearly works really hard on her blog and takes it seriously. Good for her for being successful at it
Susan Opel creaming herself with excitement however I do not get. Shouldn't amber be the one doing the sucking up?? Seeing as how she's the papercrafts editor and all...weird.
The woman's whole life is based on PTI fondness. Leave her be, that may be all she has. ------------------------ Thank you. This is why I've never included a person in one of my posts here. We just don't know what someone is dealing with in their off-line life. So what if someone enjoys and gets really excited about something? Good for them. And I say good for Amber. She shows a lot of enthusiasm in her blogging. I'll be honest and say I'm a bit jealous :P I wish I was creative and organized as her.
As an international, it really irks me when Americans complain about shipping costs and delivery times. So you may have to wait four days for a parcel to arrive AND pay $6 for shipping. Too bad, so sad. Patience is a virtue people. ______
As an American, it really irks me when international customers tell me I can't complain about shipping costs or delivery times.
Not our fault you're accustomed to exorbitant shipping fees and delivery windows.
Don't feel too bad internationals. You may have to pay high shipping but we have to pay $18000 a year for health insurance that doesn't begin to cover lots of things. I would love to move to France even if I did have to pay high shipping on my stamps. The US has a messed up education, health care and legal systems. Those are more important to have working right than delivery times of parcels.
I don't know why the international commenter had to be so smug. Sorry, I can't sympathize with you either. You know you are going to have to wait as an international, it's just a fact of life. We American's don't like to sit complacent, waiting to get what we've paid for, and we don't like being taken advantage of. Comparing your slow shipping to slow domestic shipping is apples to oranges. So take your little smug mug and go have some tea, beyotch.
Maile is much more pumped on her blog for studio calico than her own stamp sets. she hasn't even bothered to link her own more recent sets on her side bar. No extra posts. no sign of her on the forum.
I won't be sad when Maile leaves. Her projects are always mediocre in my opinion. She either knocks it out of the park or it sucks, usually the latter.
I just thought it was weird that she'd only been with studio calico for like 3 months and she was manning their CHA booth I guess cause they're the cool kids in town
Truly when someone doesn't know afterward its up to other people that they will help, so here it occurs. Feel free to visit my weblogclick the following internet site
i think amber does have some talent, but enough talking about the branding already. it's gauche. and what exactly is she branding? is she the product? if so, i aint buying. amber should work more on the substance and less on the hype.
Thank you for saying what I've been thinking. I care less about the brand and more on her actual work. The Rosie poise card set and the calendar are still one of my favorite projects ever, wish she'd go back to creating.
Did Ashley ever get her PTI DT stuff? I just came from her blog and didn't see her January PTI projects but did read about her surgery. Kind reminded me of Lisa J before she left PTI for family and health reasons I think.
I didnt order the clock because it was cut off. But the picture shows it and Nichole addressed it. I am sure it can be returned unused but with a restock charge and you pay shipping. NOTE: I dont know anything about restock charges I am just speculating.
to 19:48 Kemp-Gerstel is her husband's last name. If she had decided to keep her name as well it would have been Daigre-Kemp-Gerstel. Probably a bit of a mouthful
what is it with red ink? remember how the PTI poppy ink would crack the lid of the pad.
PTI said "there is no problem with that" {well, except it dried up the pad! But you can BUY a reinker - unless it is forever out of stock}
At least Gina K. has the balls to address it head on! good for her! she is not afraid to admit that the pads are bad and get in front of the problem - that is true customer service
PTI take note: http://stamptv.ning.com/forum/topics/a-message-from-gina-k-about-our-color-companions-ink-pads
Gina found a problem with the red ink and will be sending a free replacement pad to everyone who bought one. They DON'T need to contact her as SHE HAS the records of who bought one.
Oh and they don't have to send the ink pad back. Now THAT's how it's done!
Wow, that message from Gina K. is wonderful. I've had some issues with some of the colors of my PTI pads, but I don't want to have to go through the hassle of trying to get it rectified through Julie. Maybe I'll try some of the Gina K. ink? Has anybody worked with the MFT inks? Are they any good?
I'm hoping for a Gina K ink review as well. If they're good, I'm ready to leave PTI for good...haven't purchased in 13 months, but I keep hoping for things to improve. Seeing how Gina K handles issues is such a contrast to the PTI money grubbing machine. I certainly wish her much success.
23:02 MFT inks are ColorBox. They've been making inks a long time and have a good reputation, as far as what I know. I haven't come across any reviews of what they're making for MFT, but I'm definitely curious.
Impress inks: foam pad, pigment ink. Sticks to the stamp well. Beautiful images. None of the blotchiness that you tend to get from dye inks on the polymer stamps. If I'm using dye inks, I have used and really like the tip to stamp in Versamark first. That's the only way I get decent images from PTI, Distress or Jenni Bowlin inks.
Has anyone tried Clear and Simple hybrid inks. They're expensive, but I love their colours. I am not impressed with Impress. They have great colours but I'm not getting good images and pigment ink is just too messy. Plus they're even slower than PTI. The last time I ordered it was more than a week before my order even shipped.
Impress inks are not a true pigment, they are hybrid, which is why they work so well. Colorbox pads are just icky in my opinion and the ink dries too slowly. Impress inks dry much faster than a basic pigment and the colors are so true. I have tried dozens of inks and nothing comes close to the quality of Impress. I have switched out almost all my pads (and I have been buying for 20 years) and gone with the whole Impress line.
Colorbox stains my clear stamps and that bothers me because I can't see through the stamp and I want to be able to. I've only ordered from Impress three times. Shipping has varied from super slow (over a week before it ever shipped) to lightning fast (shipping the day it was ordered).
Impress colors: I'm looking at their color chart. I have Provencial and it is a beautiful light grey. Can anyone tell me if Birch is a medium grey or is it more like kraft?
the thread was locked because, in PTI's view, all issues were aired and it was serving no purpose. The dies are a different size than the stamp. Anyone unhappy is free to deal with PTI customer not service. Rick isn't the KGB, he's doing his volunteer work.
The only Colorbox inks that have ever stained my clear stamps are the chalk inks. Colorbox is honestly still my favorite ink brand after 15 years of stamping.
I bought several Impress pads last year and was not very impressed.
so sick of the unicorns trying to convince everybody that the clock looks better cut off anyway....sheesh, if I wanted it cut off then I would just stamp it off the side myself. Fucking sheeple!
I wanted to buy the clock set. I wanted the die too. I did not buy either because the large clock is cut off and the die doesn't coordinate. I feel bad for those that don't read the blog or follow the forum and thought that maybe they just got a defective stamp.
I am one of those who doesn't read the blogs and I don't read all the small print and banter on every single item I buy in my life before I buy it. Yes, both the dies and the stamp are a disappointment. If that stamp had been made just a teeny overall percentage smaller, it would have fit.
16:16 actually I really did want to buy that set. I was going to come out of the caves after a solid year of not buying because I really liked that set, but the sliver that was cut off and NH's arrogant attitude about it quickly changed my mind. Not that they care, but they lost a $150 order from me that day.
Good morning everybody!

You got me 8:05, I created the latest round of ink failures for pure personal pleasure. It was all my idea.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the "latest round" of ink failures. Please share details. You got me curious! Is that why the forum is down?!

ReplyDeleteI need to pay more attention.
The paisley shaped ink pads. The ones we waited years for to make sure they had time to get the formulation just right? Yeah, those. Check Zendesk if you want to know the specifics on which ones are affected.
ReplyDeleteHow does the Avery Elle Sea Glass CS compare to Aqua Mist?
ReplyDeleteFrom Zendesk:
ReplyDeleteInks
•Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hibisicus Burst, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Smokey Shadow and Pure Poppy - We are not sure when these inks will be available. These colors are being reviewed by the manufacturer as there have been a few inconsistencies between batches. We will update you as more information becomes available.
•Inks that are out of stock may not be back in stock for 4-6 months due to the issues with the manufacturer. We are so very sorry for the inconvenience.
==============
It has been way longer than 6 months that this "new" ink fiasco has been going on.
This is the new message on the forum:
ReplyDeleteThe Forum and the Gallery are undergoing unscheduled maintenance and should be back online by Wednesday morning.
This service outage is due to a hardware (primary and secondary drive)failure on our dedicated forum server hosted at Godaddy.com.
We are currently waiting on the data center support techs to replace the drives in our server and restore our backups.
Because of the long weekend it is taking more time than expected.
We are taking steps to ensure this does not happen again in the future and sincerely apologize for the outage.
==================
Love how nothing is ever PTI's fault! Shit they probably didn't pay the bill!
So the forum and gallery are hosted by godaddy but not the store???
ReplyDelete11:24. Why do you have to be so negative? Things happen. Why does it always have to be PTI's fault.
ReplyDeleteSo the forum and gallery are hosted by godaddy but not the store???
ReplyDelete====================================
The forum and gallery have been around for 5+ years and they have always been hosted at godaddy.
11:23 so this not something new that developed but pot stirring of old issues by others?
ReplyDeleterick, get back to work!
ReplyDeletethe forum is a disaster. I could not care less if it is up, down, or around. what are you missing? some buy/sell and some inane questions from the DT. I'm insulted by those goofy paid questions.
ReplyDeleteYes, 12:53 you're absolutely right. The fact that PTI still has problems with ink after years of reformulating is simply more shit-stirring by malcontents.
ReplyDeleteFor those who ordered the clock did you notice that the largest die cut hand is way too big and does not coordinate with the stamp? Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThe definition of malcontents is -
ReplyDeleteone who bears a grudge from a sense of grievance or thwarted ambition I had to look it up
Gina K tweeted to Michelle Wooderson that she seriously loves her project life layouts. :-) :-) :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't like project life but I do like Michelle W and I do like Gina K. :-D
ReplyDelete14:00 Nichole mentioned on her post during the sneak peaks that the clock hands do not coordinate with the stamp.
ReplyDeleteI think that I would be annoyed at any company if I bought a stamp set and a die and expected that they worked together. I know that I shouldn't make assumptions but is the info posted anywhere but on Nichole's blog?
ReplyDeleteIt does not coordinate with the die either, so what is it for. And no, I don't read her blog.
ReplyDeleteSo the clock hands stamp doesn't match the clock hands die? Huh? I ordered that. Too bad. That's really strange.
ReplyDeleteYour fault for assuming that they went together.
ReplyDeleteYeah, kind of like assuming you get a bun with your burger.
ReplyDeletehttp://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2013/01/introducing-hands-of-time.html
ReplyDeleteWell, they showed the clocks in their projects. I still think it's ok.
ReplyDeleteThe oversized clock hands look ridiculous. What *do* they match if they don't match the stamp or the clock face die? Another case of wtf?
ReplyDeleteLol @ kind of like assuming that you get a bun with your burger! Great analogy!
ReplyDeleteSo what ARE the clock hands for if they don't fit the stamps or the dies?

It has been a real struggle working with GoDaddy.com getting the server back up. They take a good 24 hours just to respond to tickets...and when the server crashed it took them till yesterday just to get it back up to a blank slate. Our systems administrator (Ilya) and I restored our backup files at 4 this morning and then we went through the process of setting up the forum and gallery software again...
Believe it or not we have 165GB of images in the gallery! Probably one of the biggest galleries in existence
Thanks again for your patience....we will be moving off of GoDaddy servers this week into an environment with a little better support....
Rick
================
Rick must have some big balls to complain about a company's customer service when he works for a company that is the leader in shit service! Un-Fucking-Believable!
He claims they have one of the biggest galleries in existence. Seriously?!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously!!! They take 24 hours to respond??? Remember when PTI's normal response time was 4 days??
ReplyDeleteMaybe GoDaddy is a growing company?? !?!?
It's called Karma. Imagine if GoDaddy had decided to delete their emails and "start over".
ReplyDeleteSo Papertrey's gallery is bigger than Splitcoast? Really?
ReplyDeleteHe is a complete asshole and I hope his kids get cancer and die!
ReplyDeleteThat is uncalled for. May you be held accountable in such a strong way that it changes your life dramatically.
ReplyDeleteSome of you smackers are so hateful. I hope you know that if you show no mercy you will receive it in the same measure. If you hate PTI so much why don't you move on? Or is it you enjoy being so hateful. Pathetic.
ReplyDelete13:52, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell I pray he gets in a fatal accident, and dies a slow, painful, dismembered death.
ReplyDeleteCome on Smackers! Ignore the troll who is baiting you all with faux hateful posts.
ReplyDeleteYep, karma is a bitch isn't it PTI. I cannot believe their gallery is larger than Splitcoast. But then it is a man making the size comparison, lol!!!
ReplyDelete1209 THAT IS NOT WHAT HE SAID. Go back and read it again. Put on your 5th grade thinking hat.
ReplyDeleteI believe he said "Probably one of the biggest galleries in existence", not that their gallery was bigger than Splitcoast.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI know that nobody will care, but after reading posts like this: "He is a complete asshole and I hope his kids get cancer and die!" and this "Well I pray he gets in a fatal accident, and dies a slow, painful, dismembered death." I am now done coming here. Seriously these are way past being even remotely okay to post... even if it is just 'some troll' trying to bait us.
Just awful...
It really is cruel and gives the stamping community a horrible image. I am sure someone will defend it with a dumping cart complaint or something. Awful just awful
ReplyDeleteSuck it Rick.
ReplyDeleteAnd all you people with your panties in a bunch need to just ignore the stupid troll (no, it's not me).
The troll is mentally ill. Hope there are strong gun laws in her state.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious to me that the troll is a member of the sunshine-and-unicorns brigade who is doing a bad impression of what she THINKS a smacker would say. She's also trying to make it as disgusting and shocking as possible, likely in an effort to not only bait, but also somehow sabotage this open forum.
ReplyDeleteI recognize the pattern from a few times before.
It must be a Uni because smackers only speak the truth in a respectful manner
ReplyDeleteAnd you expect people to buy that resoning?!!!
Smackers are often blunt and frequently crude, but to take things to the lengths of death and dismemberment is a uni overplaying her hand in the most obvious way.
ReplyDeleteI think the troll just doesn't like the fact that her gruesome tactics have proven to be so immediately transparent.
^^^ Truth and Improvement Example
ReplyDeletePTI is not going to change. Never ever. This is this shitty company they turned out to be and you either buy from them or not. Sausage fingers has dug in her heels and she's not going to stop doing what she is currently doing. The Three Stooges continually give their customers the middle finger and you either accept that or not.

I'm sorry but Nichole is a sanctimonious bitch and I don't even care if I spelled that right....end of rant
This blog has gone over the edge. And dont worry I wont let the door hit me Enjoy seeing my backside leave
ReplyDeleteI also believe that troll is a uni so I'm ignoring it.
ReplyDeleteThis blog hasn't gone over the edge, the TRUTH of PTI having the balls to critique someones customer service has sent the uni's in a tizzy.
If you don't like it here then leave, I for one am staying!
Oh for God's sake! This is a Smack blog people. Grow a pair and either leave or read it, but don't get all "it's gone over the edge" on us.
ReplyDeleteSo there's a Uni Troll.
Karma - remember your words in times of distress
ReplyDeleteThe uni's are hard at work to get rid of this blog. There are blogs about THIS blog and how it needs to be destroyed.
ReplyDeleteoooOOOoooo, are we being talked about in sooper seekrit blogs?
ReplyDeleteColor me intimidated. Or y'know, not.
And 9:26?
ReplyDeleteSo they are going through all this effort to shut this blog down.
Not fair 9:26! there are blogs about this blog?? This is too funny.
ReplyDeletec'mon - give it up. We need a link.
If you got that darn squares set, forget about lining them up.
ReplyDeleteI think the livid uni troll trying to scare us away and shut this place down is either one of the owners, or related to them, or someone who works for them.
ReplyDeleteLies more lies
ReplyDelete100
ReplyDeleteGee, we're on double secret probation? Hold me, I'm scared.
ReplyDeletegood luck shutting this blog down. lolololololol!!!!
ReplyDeleteI dont think anyone cares about this blog but those who participate so get over yourselves
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Look at what has happened to the international shipping rates!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://vervestamps.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-times-they-are-changing.html
It is $15 now what was it before?
ReplyDeletepostal service is broke. it is only going to get worse
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeleteHuh?
ReplyDeleteOh look, Leigh won yet again. Annoying.
ReplyDeleteoh look, immaturity!
ReplyDeleteI think there should be a rule that you can only "randomly" win their challenges so many times. Leigh constantly winning looks to me like favoritism. Notice how there were no "randomly selected numbers" generated from random.org? Seems fishy.
ReplyDeleteIt is fishy, but then again she enters everything like a zillion times.
ReplyDeleteThe woman's whole life is based on PTI fondness. Leave her be, that may be all she has.
ReplyDeleteYes,USPS rates are going up! Got this email from Frantic Stamper:
ReplyDelete----------------------------
The US Postal Service has just announced a rate increase effective January 27th, 2013.
Here are a few examples of new rates:
A Flat Rate envelope to Canada currently costs $12.95. The new rate as of Sunday will be $19.95! This is a 54% increase!
A first class parcel weighing 4 ounces to Canada currently costs $3.45. The new rate will be $6.45. (87% increase!)
A Medium Flat Rate box to Europe is currently $47.95. The new rate will be $59.95. (25% increase)
Again, USA rates are going up too. Thankfully, they are not going up as much. USA rates for a Medium Flat Rate Priority box are going up a little over $1, and rates by weight are increasing approximately 6% to 10%.
----------------------
As an international, it really irks me when Americans complain about shipping costs and delivery times. So you may have to wait four days for a parcel to arrive AND pay $6 for shipping. Too bad, so sad. Patience is a virtue people.
yes, we are spoiled. move here and you will get your packages faster or open up a stamp store yourself.
ReplyDeleteHow convenient that Leigh won again and no screen shot of the random number generator, smells more that fishy.
ReplyDeleteI guess being PTI's cheerleader has it's perks doesn't it?
Postage is just crazy. Why is it happening?
ReplyDeleteI see that Amber Kemp-Gerstel's quest for becoming a crafting 'celebrity' is well on it's way, Susan Opel is practically creaming her pants on Facebook about being with her. The sycophantic behaviour of these so called 'celebs' sickens me, just goes to show that it's not about talent, it's about who you know.
ReplyDeleteAmber has talent, don't get me wrong, it's just her desperation to 'be somebody' is so off putting, I liked her so much better before she tried to turn into a second rate Martha Stewart wannabe.
Delete
ReplyDeletewhat in god's name is wrong with someone admitting that she wants to make a go of a crafty blog? so she is enthusiastic.
life can be hard. i look forward to her posts every day. if you don't, why not just stop reading them?
What could be any possible reason for putting down another's joy and passion? How does that help you to do that?
ReplyDeletelove amber and wish her well. love to see someone make a buck at this
ReplyDeleteShe clearly works really hard on her blog and takes it seriously. Good for her for being successful at it
ReplyDeleteSusan Opel creaming herself with excitement however I do not get. Shouldn't amber be the one doing the sucking up?? Seeing as how she's the papercrafts editor and all...weird.
The woman's whole life is based on PTI fondness. Leave her be, that may be all she has.
ReplyDelete------------------------
Thank you.
ReplyDelete______
As an American, it really irks me when international customers tell me I can't complain about shipping costs or delivery times.
Not our fault you're accustomed to exorbitant shipping fees and delivery windows.
Too bad, so sad.
Shutting the fuck up is a virtue sometimes.
^^
ReplyDeleteHow rude!
ReplyDeleteOh, please. And the international's comment wasn't rude?
ReplyDeleteOh, please. And the international's comment wasn't rude?
ReplyDeleteUnlike you, she didn't use foul language to state her opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me chucke how people here can smack what people say on their own blogs but think themselves as awesome for the things they post here
ReplyDeleteI am not Rick. (I say that because often time I post it is thought I am Rick)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't mean to be rude. It's just that I'm really jealous of your shipping problems.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Someone said "fuck" on the internet! What shall I do?
ReplyDeleteyou are always an ass though
ReplyDeleteabove comment meant for 0528
ReplyDeleteMaile definitely gone from PTI.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know who is gone when there are no announcements? Do you just surmise it?
ReplyDeleteJust lies more lies
ReplyDeleteMaile is much more pumped on her blog for studio calico than her own stamp sets. she hasn't even bothered to link her own more recent sets on her side bar. No extra posts. no sign of her on the forum.
ReplyDeleteShe's out of there.
I won't be sad when Maile leaves. Her projects are always mediocre in my opinion. She either knocks it out of the park or it sucks, usually the latter.
ReplyDeleteI just thought it was weird that she'd only been with studio calico for like 3 months and she was manning their CHA booth
ReplyDeleteI guess cause they're the cool kids in town
IF Maile leaves PTI I will be very sad. She is my favorite designer. of stamps and cards. every single thing she makes is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maile
ReplyDeleteTruly when someone doesn't know afterward its up to other people that they will help, so here it occurs.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to visit my weblog click the following internet site
i think amber does have some talent, but enough talking about the branding already. it's gauche. and what exactly is she branding? is she the product? if so, i aint buying. amber should work more on the substance and less on the hype.
ReplyDeleteThank you for saying what I've been thinking. I care less about the brand and more on her actual work. The Rosie poise card set and the calendar are still one of my favorite projects ever, wish she'd go back to creating.
DeleteMaybe Ashley is leaving too.
ReplyDeleteRe: new credit card fees, wonder what PTI will do?
ReplyDeleteOn SCS Claire from WMS has gone on record saying she won't be charging this to her customers.
And PTI is closing their doors in October 2012
ReplyDeleteI am so confused...it was Amber Daigre but now it's Kemp-Gerstel? I know she got married but where did the Daigre go?
ReplyDelete23:07. Do you really think someone is stupid enough to click on that link.
ReplyDeleteIn this state it is illegal to pass the credit card fee onto the customer.
ReplyDeleteDid Ashley ever get her PTI DT stuff? I just came from her blog and didn't see her January PTI projects but did read about her surgery. Kind reminded me of Lisa J before she left PTI for family and health reasons I think.
ReplyDeleteSave 10% at Impress thru 31 Jan. Code "Be Mine"
ReplyDeleteUh, oh. Thread on cut off clock and die hands not fitting. Unexpected for some and some are unhappy:
ReplyDeletehttp://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=39980
I didnt order the clock because it was cut off. But the picture shows it and Nichole addressed it. I am sure it can be returned unused but with a restock charge and you pay shipping. NOTE: I dont know anything about restock charges I am just speculating.
ReplyDeleteSo Gina K has a quality issue of her own with ink. Once again she shows what customer care should be. Such a class act.
ReplyDeleteto 19:48
ReplyDeleteKemp-Gerstel is her husband's last name. If she had decided to keep her name as well it would have been Daigre-Kemp-Gerstel. Probably a bit of a mouthful
Anyone ordered from the new and improved PTI? You can now only put 20 of something in your cart. No more inventory checking.
ReplyDeletewhat is it with red ink? remember how the PTI poppy ink would crack the lid of the pad.
ReplyDeletePTI said "there is no problem with that" {well, except it dried up the pad! But you can BUY a reinker - unless it is forever out of stock}
At least Gina K. has the balls to address it head on! good for her! she is not afraid to admit that the pads are bad and get in front of the problem - that is true customer service
0548 I am sure if you actually wanted to buy more than 20 they would let you. :-).
ReplyDeletePTI, take a lesson here:
ReplyDeletehttp://stamptv.ning.com/video/a-message-from-gina-k-about-our-color-companions-ink-pads
PTI take note:
ReplyDeletehttp://stamptv.ning.com/forum/topics/a-message-from-gina-k-about-our-color-companions-ink-pads
Gina found a problem with the red ink and will be sending a free replacement pad to everyone who bought one. They DON'T need to contact her as SHE HAS the records of who bought one.
Oh and they don't have to send the ink pad back. Now THAT's how it's done!
sorry 7:04, I should have refreshed my screen before linking Gina again!
ReplyDeleteTypical PTI shit...the Hands of Time thread has been locked and moved to Product Ideas & Questions folder.
ReplyDeleteFUCK YOU RICK, YOU FUCKING COWARD!
^^^geez settle down. Its not the end of the world. Get a life
ReplyDeleteWow, that message from Gina K. is wonderful. I've had some issues with some of the colors of my PTI pads, but I don't want to have to go through the hassle of trying to get it rectified through Julie. Maybe I'll try some of the Gina K. ink? Has anybody worked with the MFT inks? Are they any good?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for a Gina K ink review as well. If they're good, I'm ready to leave PTI for good...haven't purchased in 13 months, but I keep hoping for things to improve. Seeing how Gina K handles issues is such a contrast to the PTI money grubbing machine. I certainly wish her much success.
ReplyDeleteI have used the MT inks and they are great! Took a new solid clear stamp and an MFT ink and got a complete, crisp image first time out.
ReplyDeleteI also have received the new Gina K inks. Haven't had time to play with them yet. Will try for this weekend and post a review.
FUCK YOU RICK, YOU FUCKING COWARD!
ReplyDelete---------------------------------
Angry much? Rick didn't move anything...
WHY did they lock the clock thread? No one was rude or anything at all.
ReplyDeleteThe thread was not locked. Check again. It's still there and is open for commenting.
ReplyDeleteIt most certainly IS locked.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of inkpads do the MFT and GinaK use?
ReplyDeletesuspect there is nothing wrong with gina k red ink pads and she did this to totally stick it to PTI! Brilliant.
ReplyDeletegina k ink pads made by stewart superior and in same case as hero arts. dye ink. i like them.
ReplyDeleteHow does Impress Ink compare?
ReplyDeleteThe thread is locked but is still visible in the stamping talk forum.
ReplyDelete23:02 MFT inks are ColorBox. They've been making inks a long time and have a good reputation, as far as what I know. I haven't come across any reviews of what they're making for MFT, but I'm definitely curious.
ReplyDeleteI like foam padded inks like impress.
ReplyDeleteOh dang, I hate colorbox's spongy pads. Too soft for my taste.
ReplyDeleteImpress inks: foam pad, pigment ink.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried Clear and Simple hybrid inks. They're expensive, but I love their colours. I am not impressed with Impress. They have great colours but I'm not getting good images and pigment ink is just too messy. Plus they're even slower than PTI. The last time I ordered it was more than a week before my order even shipped.
ReplyDeleteImpress inks are not a true pigment, they are hybrid, which is why they work so well.
ReplyDeleteColorbox stains my clear stamps and that bothers me because I can't see through the stamp and I want to be able to. I've only ordered from Impress three times. Shipping has varied from super slow (over a week before it ever shipped) to lightning fast (shipping the day it was ordered).
ReplyDeleteImpress colors: I'm looking at their color chart. I have Provencial and it is a beautiful light grey. Can anyone tell me if Birch is a medium grey or is it more like kraft?
ReplyDeletethe thread was locked because, in PTI's view, all issues were aired and it was serving no purpose. The dies are a different size than the stamp. Anyone unhappy is free to deal with PTI customer not service. Rick isn't the KGB, he's doing his volunteer work.
ReplyDeleteThe only Colorbox inks that have ever stained my clear stamps are the chalk inks. Colorbox is honestly still my favorite ink brand after 15 years of stamping.
ReplyDeleteI bought several Impress pads last year and was not very impressed.
Wasn't Stewart Superior PTI's ink manufacturer too?
ReplyDeleteRick isn't the KGB, he's doing his volunteer work.
ReplyDelete===============
FUCK RICK!
^^^
ReplyDeleteyou need therapy. seriously
so sick of the unicorns trying to convince everybody that the clock looks better cut off anyway....sheesh, if I wanted it cut off then I would just stamp it off the side myself. Fucking sheeple!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true that if people WANTED it cut off they could stamp off the side. That is the most ridiculous reason ever.
ReplyDeleteI happen to think Impress Fresh Inks are the best inks ever.
1556 but you didnt buy the clock because you hate PTI. So you wont have to atamp it anywhere now will you?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to buy the clock set. I wanted the die too.
ReplyDeleteI did not buy either because the large clock is cut off and the die doesn't coordinate.
ReplyDelete16:16 actually I really did want to buy that set. I was going to come out of the caves after a solid year of not buying because I really liked that set, but the sliver that was cut off and NH's arrogant attitude about it quickly changed my mind. Not that they care, but they lost a $150 order from me that day.
ReplyDelete18:33 Nichole'd attitude was not arrogant. You dislike her so you will find fault with anything she says.
ReplyDelete15:56 you don't have the stamp so you don't how it's been used with good results.
New space please!
ReplyDelete
