I'm another one that loves the clock stamp but did not purchase it because it is cut off and the dies don't match. Saved me lots of $ because I would have bought the stamps, dies, numbers etc
Stupidity

Anonymous said...

The anniversary festivities will soon begin. The clock will be forgotten for a bunch of new things for you to bitch about. Did you take vacation time send the kids to some overnite stays to allow more time to bitch here? Pathetic

Anonymous said...

Do you take vacation time and send your kids for overnight stays to bitch about this board?

4:10, love it.

3:43, shut up.

Anonymous said...

Yes 3:43. In fact I took today off work just to annoy you.

Anonymous said...

Nichole, arrogant? puhleez! ::eyeroll::: obviously you haven't been paying attention the past five years.

Anonymous said...

Oh you meanies hurt my feelings

Anonymous said...

04:39, thanks. I should've come back here and posted that I did google it after I opened my mouth and asked. Should've googled first. Found the Pinterest acct for Impress and saw a couple of cards where it was labeled. I will order it but was hoping it was a mediumish grey. I think *that* (med grey) might be Slate based on Google images I've seen.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure that there is even anything that PTI will come out with during the Anniversary release that will make me want to buy again. For the past several months I have been waiting at least 2 weeks after a release to decide if there is anything that I absolutely need to have. The funny thing is, after the hype passes, I don't feel excited about the products anymore.

Anonymous said...

Another vote here for Impress Inks. The only thing is I wish they would do a color comparison to the AMuse ink colors (they make them for Amuse, shouldn't be hard to do).

I have all the Amuse inks and want to supplement my blues and green colors. I ended up buying 2 inks that were identical to Amuse. The Impress colors are not at all like they seem on the monitor. I was bummed and gave them away. Won't buy anymore until I am sure they are different from what I already own.

Wouldn't Anne of Green Gables be copyrighted?

I think it is old enough that it may no longer be protected.

Anyone buying from Paper Smooches today?

Anonymous said...

So much for Ashley's delayed package. Turns out she had surgery. Why can't they just be honest and upfront about stuff like that instead of making up lies?

Anonymous said...

Let it go

Anonymous said...

@19:40
Where did you see Anne of Green Gables stamps? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Gina goes above and BEYOND again!:

"Great news! We got word today that our revised ink pads have shipped from the manufacturer and the two issues have been fixed. The Cherry Red reinkers will be delayed another week or two, however, we will ship everyone's ink pads as soon as they arrive. We will not hold up shipping because of the reinkers. We will just ship those separately when they arrive so you can have your ink pads sooner.
Thanks so much for your patience with us and we are truly very sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused anyone. ♥

Anonymous said...

Wow! It's amazing that so many people who haven't bought PTI in months and years were finally going to cave and order the Clock set and dies, and are now so disappointed that they aren't going to order...huh. funny.

Anonymous said...

I am thankful that I didn't order. I am international and until they fix the shipping options, I can love the stamps as much as I want but that doesn't mean that I am going to buy anything. I posted earlier about waiting 2 weeks before deciding and the feeling of stamp lust usually passes. I am not disappointed but puzzled that Nichole made such an odd decision to cut off the clock stamp.

Anonymous said...

There are no Ann of Green Gables stamps. Just people suggesting it in the "what's your guess to be revealed" thread.

Anonymous said...

Anne of Green Gables is still under copyright so you will not be seeing rubber stamps unless Nichole pays
"The Anne of Green Gables Licensing Authority Inc." or ignores it altogether.

Anonymous said...

I caved once when the camera stamps and dies came out but after the rush of opening the box, a sick feeling came over me. It was kind of like eating an entire chocolate cake.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Studio Calico has Hero Arts and PTI all in one place.

I don't think that these ladies will be leaving PTI for Studio Calico though. They will probably do both. The Hero Arts group is just doing this as a side thing.

Anonymous said...

So much for Ashley's delayed package. Turns out she had surgery. Why can't they just be honest and upfront about stuff like that instead of making up lies?

1 February 2013 04:52
----
I wouldn't take it that far. They probably delayed sending her the stamps because she was scheduled for surgery.

Anonymous said...

Why does someone create an entire blog post explaining that they had surgery but that it's really none of our business what it was? Some things are just better left unsaid. I wasn't curious until I read the post. It's like vaguebooking. Don't do it.

Anonymous said...

I used the Soft Stone ink pad only a few days ago, and my card looked just fine. Today, it actually looks like a very light sage green. Very, very irritating.

Anonymous said...

0821 I agree. They were probably waiting to see how she recovered and didnt want to overwhelm her. They also were not going to send her product that she might not fullfill her DT agreement for this particular release.

Anonymous said...

How sad that some of you let PTI affect your life in such away that its mind altering and makes physical illness. I guess this blog is a support group actually.

Anonymous said...

Shut the FUCK up uni!

Anonymous said...

8:35 - vaguebooking -- I like that! And I agree, why go on and on, but then say you decline to say what it was. Just say, "I had surgery, but am feeling so much better."

7:27 - Sheen/separation is very common with red ink, but does not affect performance. There were multiple threads about this with Stampin' Up several years ago. I doubt the problem will be permanently fixed, but I do like the way Gina gets in front of the issue.

Anonymous said...

Gina has to do something or else she'll be smacked lol!

Anonymous said...

Oh please. Gina is just that kind of person. I doubt she sits around worrying that if she doesn't handle a situation just right, she'll get smacked.

Anonymous said...

Gina has been honest since the first day. No one could ever question her motives.

Anonymous said...

You don't know Gina very well if this is your belief.

Anonymous said...

I know Gina better than you might think. We were friends long before Gina K was even an idea.

I am going to look at setting up a PTI Smack 4. I am going to have to learn how to do it and will let you know when it is ready to go. I promise to pre-schedule new space every week for a year. Anyone interested that already knows how to do it? I am not very tech-nerdy.

Anonymous said...

Post when you get the new site up. Maybe someone will step up to help you.

Why post about the surgery at all unless you are fishing for sympathy? Annoying!!

Anonymous said...

Because we are humans--we share! I imagine the surgery was a big deal in her life. So are the ones who tell they are pg and show the ultrasounds or tell about a child's accomplishments.

Anonymous said...

LOVE the 9PlusW lace and embroidery sets!!!

Anonymous said...

I agree 17:39 Any surgery or medical issue is a big deal when it is happening to one's self. And maybe she IS patting herself on the back and also very grateful for her recovery going so well.

She is probably letting everyone know she was NOT on double secret probation too.

Anonymous said...

And no one thinks W9's stuff is old lady?

Anonymous said...

I am gonna be PISSED if Leigh wins MIM again this week. Did you see how she has basically the same project listed like 5 times? While Italy not technically be cheating, she still sucks for pulling something so sneaky.

Anonymous said...

I was just about to post that 18:47. PTI does set the trend I guess. Paper smooches also has a sewing set.

Anonymous said...

LOL 18:44

Anonymous said...

Gosh, Vintage Embroidery is absolutely hot around here. On clothes, etc.

Anonymous said...

19:31 - sorry to contradict you, but Leigh has 6 entries in the MIM. And yeah, they all look almost the same.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know how wplus9's card stock compare to PTI's? I was just surfing through Dawn's (wplus9) blog and saw she has white ink too. TIA!

Anonymous said...

These companies would be very wise to include a sample of cardstock with every stamp order so people can see the possibilities.

Anonymous said...

^^^What a marvelous idea! And maybe the cardstock with their ink stamped on it!

Anonymous said...

I agree. I don't want to buy before a little try.

Anonymous said...

To me, Leigh is blatantly cheating to enter 6 nearly identical items.

Anonymous said...

who cares

Anonymous said...

Football is the stupidest thing ever.

Anonymous said...

Glad to see I'm not alone, 16:33. And you didn't even mention that her daughter probably actually made them... Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or are the dies from wplus9 and paper smooches expensive? I was about to order from both stores but had to pass. PTI dies seem cheaper. :(

Anonymous said...

Leigh should be disqualified for ignoring the instructions.

Anonymous said...

Love WPlus9's cheap first class shipping!

Anonymous said...

Wplus9 full reveal today.

Anonymous said...

WPlus9 hits it out of the park, again!

Anonymous said...

I dunno their Lacey layers are nice but the dies are $$$ at 24. :(

Anonymous said...

Wplus9 cardstock is awesome! It's not 120lb like PTI but it's 100lb I think and still feels and looks amazing. I specially LOVE the oatmeal. I made my second cardstock order last week and I love it!

Anonymous said...

HO-LY SHIT.... why the FUCK are CAS stamps so expensive?! And the dies?! Who in their right mind is going to pay SIXTY DOLLARS for a DIE?!

Anonymous said...

I'll wait for PTI's reveal then decide where to shop.

Anonymous said...

23:03 ??? What dies? Link please?

Anonymous said...

Did the price of metal jack up? The new dies from 2 other companies are way out of my budget.

Anonymous said...

the dies are more expensive at companies other than PTI because of PTI's volume. PTI can afford to make its cardstock much cheaper in order to pull everyone in. they are doing the same thing with the dies. they can afford to make a smaller profit per die because they make it up in volume. there are some folks who do not buy any more from PTI and sales are down, but they still sell way way more from places like WPlus9, etc.

so when you keep buying from PTI, you are essentially making it easier for all of us to keep buying.

Anonymous said...

^^^ I would have to disagree with that analogy. PTI will charge what the market will bear. We all know they value their products and therefore don't have sales. The other companies may be using different manufacturers who are charging more and the size and number of dies will determine price. I haven't seen the $60 die so don't know what it is.

Anonymous said...

Actually the dies are made by the exact same company. PTI does not wholesale their dies so they pocket all of what they mark them up for. Paper Smooches, WPlus9 and My Favorite Things wholesale and they take a smaller cut for the volume they hope to achieve by selling to retail stores too.

Anonymous said...

If you're looking for Cardstock, the Poptone colors (which is the same as the My Favorite Things cardstock) is on sale this week for $4 a 25 pack at www.awdml.com It is 100# cardstock, and they also have matching 100% wool felt and dye inks to match. Just search for Stamp School and you'll see all of the colors they carry.

Anonymous said...

23:03 is on crack! CAS-ual Fridays doesn't have dies and charges $15 per stamp set with reasonable shipping. Get a life. Nobody has a $60 die!

Anonymous said...

7:24 - whoever mention CAS-ual Fridays?

CAS is clear and simple stamps. Think before you insult people.

I didn't see a $60 on their new release but maybe an older one... Here is a $35 one from their new release.
http://www.clearandsimplestamps.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=137&idproduct=1130

Anonymous said...

Ummm she's talking about Clean and Simple stamps Moran

Make sure you check your facts before you get all ranty..

Anonymous said...

Here it is

http://www.clearandsimplestamps.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=720

Anonymous said...

Some of the party favor dies as CAS are $60.

Anonymous said...

If it is true that dies are so expensive, then why are the ones I am buying in stores really reasonable? I got 7 dies at $5-6 each at Impress last week.

Anonymous said...

If the blog owner is only going to check here once or twice a month, why not turn this blog over to one of us so we can add space?

Anonymous said...

And 0759 you need to check the dictionary before you rant! MORON!

Anonymous said...

Do you see how BIG that CAS die is? About 10-11" wide and 3" tall.

You'd be able to get 2-3 regular sets for that size and spend around $50-60 for 2-3 sets combined.

Anonymous said...

So go start another blog yourself.

Anonymous said...

@ 7:23 I may be on crack, but you're a horse's ass. Why don't you look before you speak? There are multiple dies on the CAS website (that's Clear and Simple, asshole) that retail for $60. Don't make sweeping generalizations you can't back up.

Anonymous said...

Well considering Clean and Simple Stamps refers to themselves as CSS and not CAS, it's an easy mistake.

Anonymous said...

And who the hell has heard of Clean and Simple Stamps anyway? lol!

Anonymous said...

Moron is a true Moran.

Anonymous said...

9:15 - you definitely sound like a moran

Anonymous said...

Thanks smackers. I think I'm going to be placing my first WPlus9 order tonight. How did I not notice this company before?

Anonymous said...

I am also ordering from WPlus 9, tonight. Thanks for alerting us to this great company~

Anonymous said...

Wplus9 is a top notch company . I love Dawn, she ships same day if not the next day. I made an order last Friday and got it by Monday. Their products are great quality too including their cardstock :) those of you that are making an order, try the Oatmeal cardstock...you will LOVE it!

Anonymous said...

I wanted the new Paper Smooches banner set, $11.99 was reasonable for the stamps, but then I looked at the dies and saw they were $24, that really put me off buying.

Anonymous said...

Thank Dawn for all of your helpful information!

Anonymous said...

The lacey layers dies might be $24, but you are getting 10 different dies in the set. I don't see it being that much for the number of dies that you get, including circles. Spellbinders are $25+, and you typically only get 6=7 dies. Just a thought.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for the explanations regarding metal dies. I really like the designs from other companies but will have to patiently wait for sales. For now, PTI has the best price in my book.

Anonymous said...

hope the # of comments on this post gets to 500. no reason, just find it mildly amusing

Anonymous said...

You can use 40% off coupons for buying Spellbinders and they sometimes go on sale at 30, 40 or 50% off. So comparing wplus9 Lacey dies and Spellbinders is moot.

Anonymous said...

Except that in the last couple of years, Spellbinders has gotten dreadfully mundane.

Anonymous said...

That may be true but the reply was for 15:27 who compared dies and value for money between wplus9 and Spellbinders.

Anonymous said...

Well, excuse me. For all you know, I could be 15:27.

Anonymous said...

Yay time for anniversary celebration! But wait.... Nichole is once again late with her post. Everyone else (except Ashley) has a post about loving theirs jobs and their favorite projects....

Anonymous said...

Well, she's early this time lol!

Anonymous said...

so, Maile and Jessica stayed. In fact, it appears that there are no changes to the DT. I was wrong. I kept predicting that they would leave. Color me a moron.

See, it isn't that easy to admit a mistake.

Anonymous said...

ha, I meant that it isn't that hard to admit a mistake. double moron here

Anonymous said...

I really like #1 in the sneak peek!

Anonymous said...

Bored with February already. The sneaks are meh. Sneak one actually looks a lot like what WPlus9 just put out. Cute, but enough cutesy flowers. I prefer Maile's more graphic stuff. Wish she would stick to that look.

As for the DT, they could drop Erin and Ashley and I wouldn't blink an eye.

Anonymous said...

I like the $5 series.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't miss Ashley, Danielle or Cristina. Sometimes Erin has projects that I really like, otherwise they are just meh to me.

Anonymous said...

Sometimes, Ashley and Erin have some great projects, but like others have said, mostly meh. I've yet to see a project of Heather's that inspires me. I could definitely do without her on the DT. Honestly, I don't care either way, because I never even bother looking at her blog.

Anonymous said...

I like the idea of the sets peeked today, but the one set looks very similar to the Wplus9 set that was released last night. Nothing is ever truly original in this industry. Everybody plays off of everybody else.

Anonymous said...

Not very wowed by the anniversary reveals so far but I'd like to toot the horn for WPlus9 again. Placed my first order yesterday and loved the option where you can pick the stamps and dies all in one click. Looking forward to my new stuff.

Anonymous said...

Why does Maile look like little red riding hood in her DT photo on Nichole's blog???

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, but Maile's new set looks awful! Her "flowers" look like paint splotches or flower blobs... definitely not something I am going to buy.

Anonymous said...

And SU rips off PTI--

http://stampingville.blogspot.com/2013/02/new-digital-stamps-from-stampin-up.html

Anonymous said...

10:58, wow, that is a pretty blatant rip off. I wonder how PTI will react?

Anonymous said...

So what? This card company has been selling this card since early 2011. Well before PTI.

http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/rosierobins/product/personalised-couples-card

And PTI has never ripped off SU, right? Riiiiigggghhhhttt.

Anonymous said...

Sneak peek #1 is atrocious. Ugly excuses for flowers and typeface. Ick.

Anonymous said...

You really think SU ripped off PTI? First - wouldn't be surprised if PTI had already ripped the concept off from someone else. Second - I doubt they are even on SU's radar.

Anonymous said...

That one is not a stamp though.

Anonymous said...

My WPlus9 order has shipped this morning!!!

Anonymous said...

Are you talking about the subway art? If so, everybody has done that. It's not unique to PTI even if it is in stamp form.

Anonymous said...

^^^
I think she means the use of famous couples in the subway art.

Still not an original idea either way.

Anonymous said...

@1138

So if it's not a stamp, it's fair game. Got it. ::eyeroll::

Anonymous said...

I think a stamp is different from a rug or a picture frame or a vase.

Anonymous said...

If you don't know that Moran = Moron you definitely have no right to rant here

Anonymous said...

That makes sense. PTI didn't copy it exactly so it doesn't count.

No wonder PTI still has customers. The idiots are still buying.

Anonymous said...

Why are you an idiot if you buy? It is a risk. I buy a lottery ticket now and then too.

Anonymous said...

Wanna bet we won't get space for at least 100 more posts?

Anonymous said...

I'm just going to keep posting....

Anonymous said...

Some things are rip offs and some are trends. The fact that PTI did a famous couple stamp doesn't mean that another company isn't going to do the same thing without it being copied. Subway art is popular and it's near Valentine's Day.

Nobody is copying typewriters or hexagons or cameras. They are a trend. So there. (my lame reference to Stacy Jillian who accidentally did a "reply all" instead of sending to just a co-worker email stating that you can't please everybody "so there".)

Anonymous said...

Happy(and surprised) that the DT is staying put.

Anonymous said...

I am surprised but neutral about the dt. Not happy or sad.

Are we going to see stamp sets all year from Maile and Melissa? They are both designing a lot of sets. I just looked through the list of stamp designers and I would like to see more from Erin and Nichole and maybe some collab sets with Betsy and Melissa P. Other than that I am not loving the current stamp designers.

Anonymous said...

usually day 2 revolves around the stamp designers.

then day 3 or 4 announces the CHA/SAF tpe event (if they will do it again this year)

Am I remembering this right?

Anonymous said...

If you don't think SU watches other companies, you are sadly mistaken. I know from personal experience that they walk the trade show floor (CHA) looking for product ideas. How do I know? Because I once had a lengthy conversation with one of their buyers in my booth re: licensing my product to them for private labeling. Next thing I knew, "my" product was in their catalog, altered a bit but totally based on the samples I had naively given them at the show. Lesson learned.
Of course they know what PTI is doing. They probably watch every month's release as closely as the most rabid fan. Crafters think the craft world is all sunshine and roses. Sorry. It's actually quite cut-throat. And SU is one of the worst.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that there is no copying whatsoever. I just meant that not everything that is a trend is a direct copy.

I bet you are right about all of the companies watching each other.

Anonymous said...

If PTI's flowers are similar to wplus9's design then I'll buy PTI's. I'd have to wait for the full reveal.
I do agree that the crafting world, well crafters really aren't any different from the rest of the population. The hobby itself is okay but the people, well they're not as nice as they seem to be. I thought crafters were a nice bunch of hobbyists, different from the people I deal with everyday but I was wrong. There's a lot of backstabbing, jealousy and hatred too.

Anonymous said...

^^^sounds exactly like my office. And the ladies I work with are 50 y/o women.

Anonymous said...

Michelle W has reduced prices on her remaining Papertrey stamps. I guess these are the sets that nobody wants as they have been for sale for a long time.

Anonymous said...

Oh I have no doubt that SU has reps at CHA - it's not just for purchasing but for shopping the trends, too. I get that. PTI doesn't show at CHA do they? And honestly I really think PTI is small potatoes in comparison and their trend-setting days are long gone.

It seems to me that a lot of people here are really focused on PTI, MFT, Gina K, and the new kids like Market Street, Wplus9, oh I forget - the ones that just seem to be rehashing everyone else. There are so many other companies out there - ones that don't try to make the DT look like your best friend. When I see these lengthy "interview" paragraphs on the DT, I just scroll on by. I could not care less about their personal "vision" or inspiration. They make cards!!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

I honestly thought Maille was leaving because her cards were so blehhh at one time. Glad to see they are all staying.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Michelle W. is really getting rid of EVERYTHING, even the patterned paper. The stamp sets I get, but the PP? Somebody at PTI must've reeeeally pissed her off.

Anonymous said...

Just saw an ad on SCS - Cindy Coutts has started an online cardmaking class site?

Huh.

Anonymous said...

Eh... Maybe she's just cleaning up her craft area. Didn't she sell stamps from other companies too? PTI is a closed chapter for her and she's moving on. You're just trying too hard to make something out of nothing...

Anonymous said...

Cindy Coutts? Eh gawd...I wouldn't go near anything she does with a ten-foot pole. She just keeps jumping from project to project trying to be relevant, but I think most people know to stay away from her kind of crazy. She's a bully who uses God to justify her venom.

Holy cow, maybe ikat is popular but shouldn't it look . . . I don't know . . . nice?

I agree with the post here about not caring about every little thought or detail for every card designer - and that goes for the stamp designers too. All the lovely descriptive words in the world mean nothing - the proof is in the pudding as they say.

Anonymous said...

Talk about copying. PTI (Maile) is going to sell an ikat-themed stamp set. Avery Elle introduced an ikat stamp set MONTHS ago.

Anonymous said...

There is no reason for Michelle W to keep any of her PTI stuff. She can't use it for anything.

random online shopping poll...

Backstory:
Company X offers flat rate shipping up to $90, above that and it is free shipping.

I placed one order on the release day that qualified for free shipping

I placed a second order 3 days later that was for only $20 - I knew I would have to pay shipping for this order.

It is my understanding that they have now waited to ship the first and put both orders in the same box and shipped it together.

Your thoughts:
A) You still only paid shipping once, what is the big deal?
B) The company is essentially taking the "perk" of free shipping away from you and delayed shipping your first order for free just to save themselves some bucks
C) Add your own thoughts

I'm only asking beause my opinion differs from a friend (who is splitting the first order with me) and the PTI release so far is a snoozer.... :)

07:05 - Wow, definitely B!

I'd be ticked off big time. They have ripped you off. At the very least this practice is unethical - the only benefit was to them. I'd have a hard time shopping with them again.

Anonymous said...

7:02- That happened to me although my orders were only two days apart. The company I bought from automatically refunded my shipping since they combined the orders. That is the way to do business.

Anonymous said...

I absolutely agree that you should not pay shipping on that order. They had no business holding up your completed order waiting for the other one. They should have asked you and not charged shipping. You can contact them and if they say they will not charge or will refund that shipping charge, I'd be okay with that. But if they don't ... I'd be done.
