A vote for Obama is a vote for socialism.

Anonymous said...

do you approve of medicare and social security? if so, you are a socialist.

Anonymous said...

a vote for Romney is a vote against coffee and alcohol in the white house.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe that you think a vote for Obama is a vote to have control over your body. Have you read anything at all about Obamacare?! That's government control to the extreme! And do you really want your wealth redistributed? Socialism doesnt work! eventually the money runs out! Obama cannot have four more years of tearing this country down.

Do I think Romney is the perfect person for the job? No. But I do believe he has the knowledge and experience to rebuild our economy. And I believe he actually cares about our country as opposed to Obama's not-so-secret disdain.

Open your eyes, people!

Anonymous said...

Not at all. SS funds come from an employe e's and employer' contributions and are simply saved until the persons retirement or reaches a certain age. Hardly socialism.

Anonymous said...

Do your kids go to school? Do you drive on the roads? Do you go to the library? You are a socialist.

Anonymous said...

if you think your social security comes from your contributions you are sadly misinformed. you pay in a fraction of what the government gives out. it is socialism. so is medicare. I'm not saying you should or should not support these programs but you should see them for what they are. everyone hates taxes and loves benefits. we cannot have it both ways. all i want is an honest debate, not name calling. :)

Anonymous said...

I voted for Obama 4 years ago. He promised change.
I do not like the direction our country is going. We are so much in debt thanks to him! This is not what I want for my children or my children's children.
Romney has my vote this time. I too am not a fan of Romney, but to me he is the better choice.

Anonymous said...

Obama did not put us into debt. 2 wars and Bush did that. If you think Romney is going to line your pockets, think again, unless you are already a millionaire.

Anonymous said...

Our economy was fine until the democrats took control of Congress in 2006. Check your facts.

Anonymous said...

A Romney presidency would benefit me personally from a tax perspective, but I can't even think about who he would put on the Supreme Court or the extent to which by benefitting me he would harm pretty much everyone else. I wish Obama had been able to do more, but I certainly prefer him to Romney.

Also, stamps.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for not voting on what would benefit you personally. Thank you for being a part of the whole.

Anonymous said...

14:10 I am 13:19 and I totally agree with you. Obama needs to go. He is wrong for this country. What I was saying if anyone votes for him they are voting in socialism because that's what he's aiming for. Bigger government, more intrusion into our lives and redistribution of wealth. Not to mention he let those Americans die in Benghazi. If we are attacked on our own soil will he ignore those cries for help too. He's nothing but a Chicago punk thug.

Anonymous said...

13:39 Excuse me. I paid into Social Security. That's not socialism.

Anonymous said...

16:17 Thank you.

Anonymous said...

I don't vote on social issues. I vote on economics and Romney has my vote. I think he has what it takes to do the job. Obama has put us deeper in debt, more so in 4 years than Bush did in 8 years.

Anonymous said...

I am sure the stamp companies love that this has turned into a political blog. Keep it going. PTI and the others bashed here can relax for a while.

Can I ask how the poster from the last thread knows about Gina K ink?

Anonymous said...

I am curious what the internationals think about the candidates in the 2012 election.

Anonymous said...

I am an international, and live in a country where we have free healthcare, and a good social security system. I truly don't understand the typical disdain for these systems that I read from American's. I LOVE that I can take my children to a hospital for treatment, and not have to worry about a large invoice arriving for me. Yes, our taxes may be higher than yours, but the benefits for all outweigh that IMHO. I admit I don't know anything about Romney, but I do know that Obama & democrats fit more with my way of thinking, which is more geared towards the collective & not the individual.

Anonymous said...

I love how naive folks are to think the social issues won't A) come back to bite them or someone they are close to in the butt someday and B) affect the economy when all of our personal freedoms start disappearing.

Anonymous said...

Republicans: wanting government so small it can fit in our vagina!

Anonymous said...

What the what.

Anonymous said...

Also another international here - 18:57 and I might live in the same country with free healthcare, and it is good healthcare too, good social security system, pension benefits etc. We have our choice of doctors and the government does not control our bodies/healthcare. And we survived the recession.
Following the debates on the USA system isn't too easy from this distance, but Obama inherited a helluva lot of problems and seems to have done a reasonable job; nothing is perfect. Don't know anything about Mr Romney either but the Obama/democrats way does seem to be more for 'all the people'.

^^OOps, sorry, double post; not sure how that happened.

Anonymous said...

Obama keeps passing Executive Orders that take away our constitutional rights. That's why I want him gone.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, and: stamping and stuff. :-)

Anonymous said...

Obama has passed about a dozen orders. Bush passed over 100.

Anonymous said...

As of today, Obama has signed 141 executive orders. Check your facts.

Anonymous said...

Boring. I can get this tripe anywhere. But apparently there is not enough fodder to keep it interesting. It's more fun when there is a CS issue! I am a sad, sad person for thinking that. So you don't have to blast me for being honest.

PTI Smack III said...

The Nordic system for socialism is pretty clear proof that socialism can work. I think not agreeing to wealth distribution is down to an individual basis, whether or not you are willing to help other people, to contribute more of yourself to the better good of everyone.

Obama has done more for US after the crap he had to deal with after Bush and he has plans for clean energy- he is thinking down the future. Romney only wants to look to the coal industry, and everyone knows one day we will just run out of that. I'd say to try to look from the other side- if you were trapped in a situation where if the world would just be a slightly nicer place and give you a foot up when you are down.. Where you don't have to die from illness because you can't even have medical care.

Life can be a little more fair if we'd share a bit more imho, and not just have the 'Me First' mentality.

Anonymous said...

I work in a system where taxpayer's money goes to trying to help others get their crap together and do better, but I see the efforts and money wasted daily as people take advantage and do nothing in return.

Anonymous said...

We need job creation. Jobs may not cure everything but more people having jobs means more taxes being paid, more money to consume goods and services, more money to buy houses (or pay for the one you are in), more people with health insurance, less reliance on governmental programs, etc.

That is the most critical need in this country. We need to encourage economic growth through tax incentives, less regulations, etc.

I'm all for helping those who cannot work (the ill, the elderly) but not those that 2:58 mentions.

Anonymous said...

^^^ I agree.

Anonymous said...

00:05 I am tired of Obama throwing away our tax dollars on his failed green energy companies. Billions of our hard earned money wasted.

Anonymous said...

I don't want my president controlling the internet either. This guy is dangerous.

I would rather read the the dt's fake sunshine posts. Have fun.

I'm looking for isosceles triangle nesting dies for christmas tree cards. Anyone know where I could find these? Like the Spellbinders Nested Pennants but with more sizes.

Anonymous said...

I just wanted to clariify. There is no such thing as free heathcare. If you pay taxes, you pay for healthcare as well as other public programs. Never considered myself a socialist but maybe I am.

Who are you? Are you with the party of compassion? The party that believes each person deserves basic human rights? Or are you with the party of the individual? As long as you get what you want let the others suffer? I think this elections shows OUR personalities and our characters more than anything.

Anonymous said...

America was founded for individual rights and beliefs. To escape big government. Don't get it twisted.

Whether you're far left or far right, both are equally dangerous mind sets.

Anonymous said...

Thought I would pay my weekly visit to this blog - must have come to the wrong place. Will come back after the elections.
This reminds me of the dinner party where one should never discuss religion, politics, etc. No one will agree with you so just go with your heart and vote for the one you hope will do the best they can. Good luck with your choice.

Anonymous said...

Wow this blog is worse than facebook.

Anonymous said...

Being a Conservative and against big government doesn't mean one doesn't have compassion. We simply believe that the government should keep its nose out of certain things. I, for one, am sick of seeing my freedoms being yanked away under the guise of "compassion". It's not true compassion if you're forced to do it.

Anonymous said...

just please remember that big government gave us some good things that almost NO one wants taken away -- medicare, social security, veterans benefits, interstate transportation, satellite communications (through NASA), national institutes of health, the CDC, the military, to name a few.

I totally understand the desire to curb govt and agree with it, but Romney has proposed a 5% across the board cut. It is on his website. Don't come whining when and if your $$ is cut. Also it is impossible to cut government without cutting medicare, medicaid, social security and the military. The big 4 and the debt make up the lion's share of the budget.

Let's get real -- almost all americans (except the wackos in a cabin in the woods) are responsible for the mess we are in.

I hope if Romney wins, as I think he will, that he succeeds in making this a healthier country. But i hope he loses. I have a kid who is 24 and i need her to stay on my health insurance. She is on chemo.

Pray for her please. I will vote for Obama because I have no way of paying for her to stay on my health insurance and while she will "probably" stay on chemo, she won't be able to afford some of the many other medicines that she really needs.

In addition, romney is probably an ok guy but he is in the pocket of the right wing. no thanks.

Anonymous said...

Prayers for your daughter. Obama has YOUR back. Obama is turning things around and we cannot stop it in midstream. Romney will be worse than Bush and will take society back 30 years and every single person, except for the really rich will suffer.

Anonymous said...

No matter who is elected, government budgets will be cut and taxes will be raised. No one is saying this but it will happen. The debt burden must be dealt with.

Anonymous said...

Me thinks a lot of stampers here are republican mormons. I don't trust Mitt. If you don't mind him getting all his counsel from their prophet then go ahead and vote for him. You are kidding yourself if you think he won't be influenced by the mo mo church.

I'm old enough to remember "them" saying the same thing about JFK and the pope.

I'm no fan of moronism. Read about that "religion" if you don't know anything about it.

WE ARE NOT ALL AMERICANS AND YOU ARE NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE.

Mormonism has a very cultish basis in that they believe only Mormons are true Christians and everyone else is wrong. They also believe in some power in outer space called Kobob or something like that, not to mention the magic underwear, which is not a myth as my DIL showed it to me.

Anonymous said...

For those of us who are Americans, this election had darn well be the center of our universe right now. More than ever, this particular election is going to determine the state of this country for the next 30 years. Our state of the union will affect the world economy and world peace.

Anonymous said...

13:54, things didn't turn out well for JFK. Not sure if that is a good comparison.

Anonymous said...

My point, 15:02, is back then "they" were saying the pope was going to be running the US, making all the decisions. Like 13:43 is saying the "profit" will be calling the shots.

Anonymous said...

I'm liking the new SSS dies and stamps as well...
But they're not shipping till early November?? Cutting it too close for me I'm almost done my Christmas cards...

There's always next year, 15:56. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

I kinda like those trees and the holiday labels. And for non-Christmas, the talk bubbles.

28 October 2012 13:43

Gotta say THIS ^ is what worries me. Living in the South pretty much makes me dislike all religion, especially those that feel the need to spread the word that they are the true believers of Jesus Christ.

I've become closer to God sitting in my craft room than I EVER did when I was going to church three times a week. (Trying to pray the gay away, needless to say, I'm still gay. *big smile*) My poor mother wants me to go to church so bad. It ain't gonna happen.

Anyway, the idea that some old white dude with a supposed "direct line" to God could be pulling the strings REALLY bothers me.

One of my former coworkers in a Mormon (Yes, they are even in Alabama.) and to see her post on FB just leaves me dumbfounded. She's twice divorced and on government assistance, yet is too stupid to realize that she's supporting a candidate whose policies would negatively affect her.

Anonymous said...

22:47, what are these constitutional rights that have been taken away by Pres. Obama's executive orders? Have you even read them?

Anonymous said...

I've always considered myself a Republican, but I wouldn't even buy a used car from Romney.

Anonymous said...

This will be my first time voting for a Democrat for president.

Anonymous said...

Becky Higgins has big news all this week... Any guesses?

Also, studio calico on peachycheap today!

Anonymous said...

The peachycheap deal looks pretty good. However, after organizing 6x6 pads yesterday, I definitely don't need any more paper. It's a sickness, I tell ya.

Anonymous said...

'... yet is too stupid to realize that she's supporting a candidate whose policies would negatively affect her. '
True dat.
For half the country.

Obama will win though : )

Anonymous said...

@2:29 (I'm 21:14)

I know! I organized my 6x6 pads yesterday too and was tempted, but I already have 2 take note and if I want the basics I can go buy one (got take note free from Archiver's)

One interesting point - studio calico 6x6 are smaller than MME 6x6, go figure

Also - Archiver's is doing free a free MME 6x6 this week if you buy $30 of MME products.

Anonymous said...

If I quit buying paper, I could retire.

Anonymous said...

I heard that when Obama loses, he is going to work for Customer Service at PTI and he will fix their website, their crappy ink and make everything all pretty and nice again. Oh wait....should we trust him to do that when he couldn't do anything the past four years? Obama "don't look at what I did in the past, look at what I am going to do"...whatever - I trust him like I trust Nichole and company to clean up their act. WAKE UP YOU MORONS!

Anonymous said...

When Romney goes to work at PTI, he will double the prices so Nichole can add a swimming pool. Postage will be $50 a package and if you don't like it, he will make you have an ultrasound. He will take away your rights to stamp on Sundays, as it is against his religion, and because he is a Mormon he will be made CEO right away. Stamps will now be made in China and your discounts will be stored in the Caymans.

Us internationals are just waiting for the elections to be over. When is that November 6th? I can wait. No use getting all annoyed with it. Two peas is bombarded with it, along with CNN, and every other website I visit.

I just have one question. If either one is elected, do you think one of them really has the power to do change, to make good on their promises. I can't help think that the soon to be president is just merely a frontman for the real decision makers, whoever they may be.

Anonymous said...

International here with a dumb question. How did Romney do as governor? Did his religious beliefs influence his job performance in anyway? Why are people worried about his religious background and not have the same worry about Obama's?

Anonymous said...

I'm really annoyed today at Impress Rubber. I ordered some Fresh Inks last Wednesday and haven't heard a word from them since. Sent an email today and still no reply. This is a first-time order for me, based on recommendations from here, and I'm most NOT impressed.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and my order from SSS, which I ordered two days before my PTI October release one, still hasn't arrived. PTI arrived last Wednesday.

Christie said...

Unknown said...

Lazy international. I took it that both Dems and Repubs did not like him as governor. It was said once he was elected, he basically didn't do much. But that's my concise take on what I've read and what not. Says a lot when your own party doesn't like ya though!

InkStink said...

Ordered from CAS-ual Friday Stamps on 10/26, arrived today!

My order from SSS, placed 10/21, has not shown up yet. Nothing from the pre-order on it. I think my orders have been taking about 10days.

Anonymous said...

Seriously, only 3 business days later and you are made at Impress?

Anonymous said...

7:32 If Obama wins he bails out PTI with your money. He redistributes items from the large orders to the small orders so everyone has a fair shot at getting stamps they didn't pay for. Let the rich pay for it. Then he takes billions of your money to give loans to build red rubber stamps companies owned by his cronies and supporters. Ooopps not a good idea, nobody's buying them. The companies fail. Billions of taxpayer money wasted.

This PTI smack might be a thing of the past soon - obviously no-one is complaining on the forums any more. If they have a problem it is probably whisked off to the Zen desk thingey. Maybe their orders/sales are well down and orders are arriving quicker.
They are obviously not doing anything about international postage options - the internationals seem to have moved on anyway.
Hard to smack something that seems to no longer exist.

Anonymous said...

Forgot to add - the ink and impression plates problems seem to have been buried somewhere too.

Anonymous said...

I agree 20:09. It seems that a lot of people have moved on.

Anonymous said...

I think this blog was a good service making people aware of the issues. This point going forward is redundant. People can still read of the past issues if they are new to the scene.

Me personally if I have a problem with a company and it works out satisfactorily (sp?) i consided it a private matter

Anonymous said...

So PTI is all good now and safe to order from and everything is solved?

Anonymous said...

Has anyone tried Alley Way Stamps?

Anonymous said...

Oh my gosh. Just watched MIM. Enough with the incessant tapping!

Anonymous said...

There are those who aren't ordering anymore, thus no new reasons to smack

There are those who never had issues, thus not much reason to smack

and there are those who still order, cautiously, but aren't surprised when things get effed up, so why bother smacking or posting on the boards where it will get them a warning and whisked away....

So while I don't believe things are better at PTI, I think the smacking isn't such a big thing because it is par for the course now.

Anonymous said...

Agree 0758

PTI now meets the level of expectation that everyone is used to. It is not good, but it is why people eat at McDonalds when there are better places to eat. They accept it.

and the fact that the 3 owners are willing to settle for that is pathetic and shows what immoral folks they are. What happened to America, where businesses wanted to be a part of the community and gave a crap about their reputation.

What does it matter when it comes to Mormon beliefs? What makes the Mormon religion any more or less valid than the Catholic, Jewish, or Muslim religions?

It is so funny to watch those of a particular faith judge those of a different faith. Do you have to put down someone else and their beliefs in order to justify your own belief system?

God is all-inclusive, never exclusive. He (or She) is there for anyone who honestly seeks God.

Or not....

Because all religions think they are the only 'true' religion and the only ones who will be saved
